Hey everyone, thanks for helping me get this far, we're back to the icy kingdom of Arendelle. I know I'm not really employing the characters like they do in kingdom hearts, but bear with me. hopefully we can see more next time. by the way, there's a nice clue about the next world in this chapter. See if you can guess it!
Sora, Donald and goofy ran off towards the inside of the castle. It was much like every other castle that they had been to, with the dungeons below and the towers above. It surprised Sora to see that he was able to navigate around so easily, having traversed many a castle in the past. As they ran towards where the ice grew, Sora noticed a crashed bicycle beside a suit of armor. As they went further down the corridor, they found a room filled with paintings.
And then….a dead end.
The ice had formed a barricade to the library. With any luck, Elsa was inside the room, and they could help her get out of this mess. Wordlessly, Sora, Donald and goofy all conjured up their most powerful fire spells, to break down the wall of ice. The cold material fell to the ground in large rivulets due to the heat. As soon as they made a hole big enough, they knocked down the door only to find a woman with long hair and a suspiciously lively snowman.
"Some things are worth melting for." The snowman stated, holding his smile up from his falling face.
"Hey, you wouldn't happen to be Elsa by chance, would you?" Sora asked the woman. Both she and the snowman turned around. "If you are, then we need to take you outside."
"Oh great timing!" The snowman perked up. "Listen, you have to take Anna to kristoff. It's the only way to break her curse. We don't have much time, either, so let's go!"
"kristoff? You mean that guy we met at the gate?" I thought he ran towards the dungeon." Sora recalled. "oh, so you're the one Kristoff was so worried about!"
She gave a slight nod, which was clearly a physically demanding exercise. The dark rings under her eyes began to grow, and her skin slowly paled to match the whiteness that was spreading from her hair.
"c'mon, we'll help you find him for sure!" Sora and goofy grabbed Anna and carried her between them.
"You will? Oh thank the snowflakes, I bet he went this way!" Olaf pointed towards the forest.
Sora, Donald and Goofy looked confused.
"No, where's my brain? He probably went that way." Olaf tried again.
"Let's just head back to the dungeon, maybe Rinoa and Leon have seen him." Sora began walking.
As they began moving, the ice magic began to surge, and all around them large spears of ice began to crack through the walls. They had come close to the group many times, and speed was required to keep everyone safe. Moving at such speeds was difficult while carrying the cursed girl, but Sora knew that others were depending on her to make it to Kristoff. They had no idea what kind of a curse she had been under, but it was their responsibility to help those in need. When Anna got too heavy to carry, Sora imagined she was kairi, so as to distract himself from how heavy she was. He wondered how much chocolate she had eaten recently.
"Yipes, we'd better hurry!" goofy yelled, as a large ice spear came precariously close to hitting him in the leg.
"Let's go!" Donald cast a few fire spells and waddled quickly to keep up with the two.
Rinoa and squall continued inching their way through the storm over the water. In the distance, there were two figures braving the storm. It was impossible to discern who it was, or what they were doing, but as they pressed forward, they could make out a wispy woman and large man. Rinoa had continually been casting spells to allow them to see in the weather, but they became less and less effective the closer they got.
"the storm's getting really bad, so we must be close!" Rinoa yelled, her clothes blowing every which way in the wind.
"I hope so! Grab my hand, or you'll be blown away!" squall yelled, reaching his hand out to the woman.
She was about to grab it in turn when she was ripped off her feet by the wind.
"Rinoa!" Squall yelled, jumping up and trying to catch her. as he continued to move forward, the wind died down. He tried to run back, but there was a call behind him, in the eye of the storm.
It was Kristoff.
"Hey, you, from earlier! I need some help!" Kristoff yelled to squall.
He looked back to where Rinoa had just been, and then to the large man and petite woman. Giving an internal sigh he moved towards the two. Rinoa was strong. He promised he would get back to her, but he had to help these two in the meantime. The woman was bowed down, holding her head in her hands. She was muttering something to herself.
"I thought she was Anna, so I raced over here. She won't listen to me; she keeps going on about how badly this has gotten out of control.
Squall looked to the woman. She looked like she hadn't gotten much sleep and even less sunlight. Her ice blue dress was just about the only color to her, and she had crouched down and sat in fetal position. If she were an evil sorceress, this might be easier. But it seemed she didn't want this giant storm, and she couldn't make it stop. The woman looked up to Squall.
"Please, go away! I don't want to hurt you!"
Behind squall was a figure that emerged from the shadows.
"Your majesty, this can all stop! Just come to me, and I'll take away your pain." A majestic looking man with large sideburns arrived. "I have already sentenced you to death for treason. Don't make this harder than it has to be."
"not one step closer." Squall stood defensively in front of the woman. "I don't know what's happening, but no one is getting killed until after this storm dies down and we can settle things like adults."
The man said not a word, but pulled out a sword of his own. He smirked at the two men standing in between him and his path to the throne. Yes, hans of the southern isles would no longer be last in line for the throne. Arendelle was his for the taking. The only thing left standing in his way was a mad queen and two commoners. He wasn't scared. He had brothers tougher than these two.
"very well. Come at me, if you so desire."
Rinoa reached her hand towards her love as she felt her feet leave the earth. This storm was getting stronger, and she could feel bits of hail tearing at her skin and clothes. As the earth and those she held dear grew smaller, the grey clouds encompassed her vision.
Using a bit of magic, she summoned up some wings to right herself in this storm. Before long, she was standing face to face with her nobody.
"so I see you got your present." She smirked.
"what's your game? Is this storm your doing?" Rinoa asked.
"Always with the questions, dear. Go to the next place, and you'll get some answers. There is a quaint place I know of called 'the snuggly duckling.' Ask for a man named Lior. He can fill you in on some details. He will have something waiting for you as well. But do remember, that there is a price for everything." Edea answered.
"everything? Why would you do such a thing?" Rinoa yelled.
"so that you can help me in this little plan of mine. You see, I can't do everything myself. I can't rely on that waning organization anymore. I'm free of them from now on. I need you. and you will need me." Edea confessed.
"yeah right, like I'd ever need the likes of you!" Rinoa blew a raspberry.
"say that now. Just know that I am only looking out for your best interests. Remember, I am a part of you." Edea reminded her.
Rinoa looked into those cold violet eyes.
"yeah, you are apart of me. so that means I need to put you back into me. I can't let you hurt anyone else." Rinoa spat.
"so that's how it is then. I fight to stay myself and you fight to make me apart of you. if that's how it is then, so be it. But just know that I will fight you until the day we die." Edea decided.
"If it's the last thing I do, I promise." Rinoa decided.
"I'll hold you to it, dear. Just as long as you give me your all. I won't take anything less than your best. Should you find a way out of my plan, I will accept loss gracefully. Good luck to the both of you, and May the best half win." Edea held out her hand and transported away in a rush of white feathers.
Rinoa stared at the space that her nobody had just been floating in. there had to be some way to end her. Some weakness. Rinoa thought about everything that made her weak. She didn't like thunderstorms, and she was horrified at the idea of losing squall. There was a trick to beating her nobody, she knew it for sure. Everyone had weaknesses. Her nobody's weakness must be something subtle; yes, that had to be it. Rinoa had seen some nobodies. They didn't always look exactly like their others. Maybe that had to be part of it.
Rinoa didn't have long to think it over, though. As she looked down, more figures had converged in the small group. She didn't want to miss the action.
Well, there it was. For the last part, I imagined Rinoa from her part in dead fantasy, which is kind of interesting, if you have never seen it. anyway, keep reading, hope you enjoyed!
