Hello! So, I hope you guys have had a great Easter Holidays! I'm actually not meant to be posting today since my first exam is in two weeks but I didn't want to disappoint all the people who really wanted me to update so here it is but first I have to say a few important things you MUST read:
Please read the following...Please read the following...Please read the following...Please read the following!:
1) This fan fic has reached OVER 200 REVIEWS! I am so happy about how much support this fan fic has so far. So, this is a very, very special thank you to all those people who have ever reviewed for this story. Also, the recent reviews for the last chapter made me smile and laugh so much. Like, a guest person reviewed like 5 times because a link to music they sent wasn't coming up. It made me admire their persistent and I kind of felt sorry for them. I wanted to tell them that links don't work on fan fiction unless you put each letter of the link on separate lines. I did check out the anime music collection. My favourite was the first song. I want to say thank you to them. Another, guest reviewer said they were 'shocked' that Scarlet Destiny knocked on Fairy Tail door instead of breaking it down and I wanted to reply saying that Lucy was the one to knock and not a long-time member of Scarlet Destiny so that is why the door is still there. If Ren or Zolo or any other member of the guild was to knock on the door it would mostly been broken to a million pieces. Some other guest reviewer kind of made me panic when they said it was this chapter that would either made my story 'pure gold or a bunch of crap' so I am so worried about how this chapter will go down. And, now thank you to all the people who sent big reviews for me to read full of questions as this leads me to my second point.
2) If anyone has any important questions that need to be answered then you MUST PM me so I can reply. As long as it doesn't give out any spoilers I will reply to it as best as I can. Do not be shy to ask me anything!
Now, I am so sorry about this big ramble. I needed to say this. Now, I will let you read this chapter and I also have a few things to say at the end. But, for now here is this chapter of Scarlet Destiny:
Disclaimer: I own nothing of Fairy Tail but Scarlet Destiny is all mine :)
Fairy Tail Main Guild
The silence was unnerving, deep and drowning. All the members of Fairy Tail stared at the opening of their guild where Lucy was surrounded by strangers. Shock and dismay was eminent on each members face. She was here! The girl who they hoped they never had to see again was standing on their doorstep. How was she here? Why was she here? How dare she come here!?
"L-Lucy!" Natsu shouted out loud in dismay. He was the first person to talk after Mirajane shouting out 'Lucy' in surprise "What the hell are you doing here!?"
Lucy looked towards Natsu and made eye-contact with his cold black eyes. She stared at him trying to keep all emotion off her face. She didn't want Natsu to know what she was feeling. She didn't want him to know how sick she felt being in her ex-guild main room. In here were memories. The memory of her being pinned down by her own friends. The memory of the unbelievable pain she felt when they forcefully removed her guild mark.
But, there were also good memories in this guild. She remembered every smile they shared. Every laugh they had. Every connection they made. It hurt more to think about the 'good' times then the bad time. Because, when she remembered the 'good' times she knew they were all lies. That in the end all of it was an empty lie. In the end, she was betrayed.
"Natsu," Lucy spoke her voice empty with any emotion. His name sounded so foreign in her mouth. "I'm here because I need to be here."
Natsu's face dramatically changed into a confused look. He didn't know what the hell she meant by that. He didn't like seeing her either especially with the other strangers. The other people, Natsu thought suddenly as he looked at the group of people Lucy was standing with. He didn't recognise any of them. He even thought some looked weird as there was a guy with dark green hair. Who has hair the colour of seaweed?
Then, Natsu recognise other people in the group. He recognised Wendy was also present in between a guy with deathly pale skin, black hair and eyes and another boy who was really young with blonde hair and hazel eyes. In Wendy's arms was Carla staring at Natsu's guild members with her usual perfected poker face. Natsu also spotted Lily standing in between two really young kids that were dressed the exact opposite of each other. And, then Natsu laid eyes upon one of the most influential person in his life. Happy, his cat and best friend was standing stiffly in between Lucy and some other guy with light blue hair and dark blue eyes.
Natsu couldn't believe it. It was Happy! Happy, he missed him so much. When Happy left Natsu always felt like Happy took a piece of him with him.
"Happy." Natsu whispered as his eyes were now on his cat only. Everyone else literally faded as all his attention was on his cat.
Lucy heard Natsu speak Happy's name so softly it felt like someone had punch her in the guts. It seems that Natsu still very much cared about Happy. Not her. It seemed he hated her guts. Even though Lucy may not care about her old guild like she used too, that doesn't mean she had lost all feelings for them. They had so memories together and it's not easy to forget things that are important.
"Mirajane," Lucy said as she looked at the girl she admired so much, 'Can we come in?"
Mirajane blinked a few times looking like she was just coming out of her daze. She opened her mouth ready to speak but someone stole Mirajane's words before she could say it,
"Wait!" Erza said loudly and she walked forward so she was only a few feet away from Lucy and her mysterious group "You haven't answered why your here. And, why would we let our enemy come inside out guild?"
Enemy? They now thought she was their enemy? How could they? Lucy felt like screaming at the tops of her lungs that she didn't do it. That she didn't kill Elfman. But, she knew if she did it would make no difference. The truth she would speak would just fall on deaf ears.
Suddenly, Jared moved forward from the line that Scarlet Destiny were standing in so now he was just a feet in front of them but not exactly in the main guild room yet. It looked like the guild master was going to take action.
"Hello," Jared started. He didn't like this guild and seeing them face to face wasn't improving how he felt about them but he still owed them curtsey so he wasn't going to be rude to them. "I know you people must be confused and angry. I will explain all but first may you allow us into the guild."
"Why would I let you into my guild?" said a new voice and all of them turned towards Makarov who untangled himself from his cross-legged position. He jumped off the table and crossed his arms as he stared at the group of strangers just in front of the bar table.
"You haven't even properly introduced yourself." Makarov carried on as his eyes trailed off the group. He didn't expect Lucy to be in front of his guild. He didn't expect her to be this disrespectful to come back.
Jared took a deep breath as he stared at the elderly man. If he had to guess, he was sure that this was the guild master.
"I'm sorry," Jared started "We are from the guild Scarlet Destiny."
Makarov eyes widened just the slightest. This was the group the infamous Scarlet Destiny sent? They were just a bunch of kids. It seemed that the oldest was the green-haired man but even then, he was still young compared to older members in Fairy Tail.
"Wait, if your form Scarlet Destiny then why is Lucy with you?" Natsu asked.
"Idiot, it's so obvious. Lucy must have joined their guild after she got kicked out of ours." Gray scoffed as he stood next to Natsu, clothes still on for now.
"Eh? Lucy joined their guild? And, they allowed her in even though of what she did?" Natsu asked loudly in dismay.
He wasn't the only one in shock. Nearly all the members of Fairy Tail broke out into angry mummers expressing their disbelief of knowing Lucy had joined another guild. Did Scarlet Destiny even know what Lucy had done? That she had killed a Fairy Tail member?
Jared's face was as calm as ever. Not a single emotion was presented on his face. He put Carla's poker face to shame when he wanted too.
"Yes, Lucy has joined our guild. And we know about your accusation against her yet she still has a perfect place within our guild." Jared replied calmly.
"You know? But then why have you-" the rest of Natsu's sentence was cut off when Makarov started to speak,
"Natsu, be quiet for a moment. Scarlet Destiny, you may enter our guild."
"What?!" Natsu shouted out in shock. He was letting Lucy in here? After what she had done?
Makarov on the other hand was thinking a bit more rationally. Although, he may not like the sights of Lucy being in his presence she was till with the guild Scarlet Destiny. Unfortunately for him, he had to work with Scarlet Destiny. So, his plan of action was to find more about Scarlet Destiny and it's relationship with Lucy. How did she come to there? Why did they let her in?
Jared nodded his head before taking the first step in to the guild. The rest of the members of Scarlet Destiny followed and started to walk in with him. Ren looked cautiously at Lucy just as she was about to enter her ex-guild. He had to make sure that she was okay with this. Apart of her skin turning a little pale she looked fine. Wendy had the support if Carla who was sealed nicely against her chest. Just the feel of holding Carla made her racing heart calm down.
The group walked forwards and Fairy Tail members, parted going either right or left like when a secret passage is being revealed. They were getting out of Scarlet Destiny's way. The group walked forwards until they stopped just about the middle of Fairy Tail's main guild. Automatically, the members of Fairy Tail started to crowed around the small group of Scarlet Destiny almost like they were circling them in. Almost like they were making sure that Scarlet Destiny had no room to escape or run away. They were trapped.
Makarov walked forwards until he was right in front of Jared just a few feet way at the front of the circle that was formed around the group from Scarlet Destiny.
"Will some of you introduce yourselves?" Makarov asked his eyes trained on the young man in front of him. He seemed to be acting as the leader of the group by the way that the aura of courage was pouring out of him.
"Oh, yes... I'm Jared." Jared introduced himself before turning towards Sarah who was standing nervously beside him "and, this is my partner Sarah."
Sarah smiled shyly and swallowed hard. Unlike, Jared's unemotional face it was easy to tell what Sarah was feeling. Her emotions were easy to read like an open book. She was nervous, panicking and not calm at all.
The thick tension was having its toll on her. Maybe not just her but a few of the other members as well. Kouta looked like he wanted to die right then and there. There were just too many looking at him. Too many people staring at him. Both Wendy and Lucy looked stressed out and just nervous but there was also a fiery determination in their eyes.
Then, you have the members who are similar to Jared. Zolo had a look of complete and utter boredom on his face. He didn't care about all the glares they were getting. Ren and Kuro had adopted a similar stance, with a straight back and shoulders high to show they weren't going to back down to anything.
"And, as you can see the blonde hair little boy is known as Kouta. The green-haired man next to me name is Zolo. The two-little girls you can see behind Lily are Mia and Miyah. The boy with the deathly pale skin name is Kuro. The elegant looking girl is Veruna. And finally, is Nyx, the girl with the blackish/purple hair." Jared introduced everyone quickly and to the point.
Makarov also did the same introducing his most important members to Scarlet Destiny with a quick description of their hair or eye colour. As soon as the introduction were over, that deathly silence fell in the room which Makarov was quick to banish.
"I am the Fairy Tail's Master. I have heard that the Master of Scarlet Destiny will be joining us in this mission as well as his second in command." Makarov said.
"And, your right." Veruna voiced up from her stance behind the twins Mia and Miyah.
Makarov face turned into one of the confusion.
"What do you mean? Where are Scarlet Destiny's leaders?"
"She mean's they are right here. Jared is our guild Master and Sarah is his second in command." Nyx answered.
Makarov eyes widened and his jaw dropped. He couldn't believe it. This was the guild Master? Impossible! He wasn't the only one in the state of shock. Other Fairy Tail members, looked like their eyes were going to pop out of its socket. The oldest members of the guild looked the most shocked about it.
"Preposterous!" Makarov shouted out "there is no way you can be Scarlet Destiny's leader. You are way too young for the position!"
Jared sighed and quickly ran a hand through his hair. Did this really have to happen every single time that people figured out he was the guild Master? Okay, he was young he knew that but he also knew he was worth this position. He had gone through a lot to get here and he just wished people would recognise that and don't doubt him as a guild Master. But, it seemed that wasn't going happen any time soon.
"Yes, I am the guild Master. Now, we can go on and on about how this is possible and about how I have no right to be in this position because of my age. But, we have a more important matter to discuss and that is our mission." Jared said simply, the slightest big of aggravation in his voice.
Silence. Makarov sighed himself as he realised that he wasn't going to get an explanation of this little boy becoming a guild Master. It was time to go to the important matter.
"This mission...I would have gone on with this mission but..." Makarov voice trailed off.
"But..." Sarah repeated as she stepped forward.
"But, I don't think this mission between our guild's will work."
There was no reason for Makarov to say what the reason for his decision when the answer was standing out like a sore thumb. Most people turned their eyes to Lucy who had to keep a brave face on. She didn't hesitate to stare straight back at Makarov's murderous glare as his eyes were on her.
"I understand. This accusation you have against Lucy-" Jared started but he was interrupted by Makarov,
"Accusation!" Makarov laughed out sourly "You must mean the truth."
"You can't really say it's the truth. I mean from the way we have heard about what has happened, it's not really clear what happened. And, Lucy's side of the story could be true as any other." Sarah explained.
"But, her side of the story is false." Makarov answered simply his eyes turned cold as ice.
"Um," said a new voice and everyone turned towards the new sound which had originated from a shaking Lisanna.
She did not look good at all. There were deep black bags hanging under her eyes showing that she must have not had a good sleep for ages. She was much skinnier then Lucy remembered her being but even through all this it was still easy to tell that Lisanna still had her beauty.
"I-I was there. I know what I saw. And, that was Lucy killing my...brother." the last word was choked out from Lisanna's throat almost like she couldn't take it. There was anger in her eyes as well and that was aimed towards Lucy. Lisanna really believed that Lucy had killed Elfman. Tears were welled up in her eyes. She had yet to get over her brother's death.
"Yes, I know you were there and all and this is what you claim but knowing Lucy for as long as I have I don't think she could have done it. There is no way she would have killed one of her friends." Kuro retorted back his voice strong.
"And, we have known Lucy for longer," Makarov started "and there is no denying a fact no matter how long you have known a person for. People can change within seconds depended on the situation. I have no idea why Lucy killed one of my own children but she did."
"No, your wrong," Sarah said firmly "Lucy isn't one to change like that. To kill this person named Elfman goes against every nature in Lucy's body. She would not have done it."
"You have no idea what you're talking about child!" shouted Makarov at Sarah, his voice loud and thunderous "you do not understand the pain of having loss someone who it is important to you!"
Sarah jerked back at being suddenly shouted at her face dropped. Her eyes dulled and her lips began to quiver. She almost couldn't take that. Couldn't take being shouted out. Suddenly, Jared moved forwards quickly until he stood in front of Sarah blocking her from Makarov's view. Jared's eyes narrowed as he looked at Makarov with utter rage, the first proper emotion he was showing. His hands were balled into fist, tight and shaking as if he was trying to hold himself back.
"Don't ever talk to Sarah like that ever again." Jared said simply through his gritted teeth. The threat was evident in the young boy's voice.
Makarov almost took a step back at the sound of the young boy's rage. It surprised him how much the boy changed just by what had happened to his partner. Although, Makarov was not a man to back down.
"I did not mean to do anything to her. I am simply telling the truth. Lucy killed Elfman and that is something I cannot take. It's why I punished her for it." Makarov announced.
Jared's eyes softened from his anger and his fist uncurled. If anyone looked close enough they would have seen the deep nail marks that were dug into her palms by clenching his fist so tightly.
"You hurt her." Jared replied softly.
"I did it for Elfman. He needed to avenged. I just wished I had done something more to be punish her even more." Makarov said harshly.
"You took everything away from her though." Nyx replied knowing fully how much Lucy had lost.
"That's right." Erza butted in and she stepped forward as well out of the main circle "we took everything from her...that means her keys. How can she be in your guild? She is a Celestial Wizard without her keys. She's weak."
"No, your wrong on that." Jared started "just because you took away her keys doesn't mean she's weak. She still has a strong will of a Celestial Wizard. And, that's all she needed to gain something better." Jared made sure not to mention the demon key. Fairy Tail did not need to know this. Not now at least.
Makarov knew they were keeping something. But, it didn't matter to him. What mattered most was that he couldn't seem to get it through what he was sure was the truth. Which meant only one thing.
"This...agreement could not possibly work. Not with Lucy in your guild and defiantly with her being on this mission." Makarov announced his final decision.
"I don't think your thinking clearly. Just because Lucy is in our guild does not give you an excuse to refuse this mission. No matter what you say Lucy is always going to be in our guild and she is going to go on this mission. We will not abandon her." Jared spoke convincingly.
"I don't get it!" Natsu suddenly boasted out in confusion turning all eyes on him "You know that Lucy has betrayed us yet you still take her side. She will also hurt your guild too!"
"Lucy would never do that." Kuro replied.
"Oh yeah!? She will! She's lying right now! She did kill Elfman and she is lying to yours and our face about. I hate that she is doing this. She was the one who tore this guild apart."
"Listen Pinky," Kuro mocked which caused Natsu to grit hit teeth in anger at being called such a name "I may not know who you are properly but I know Lucy. She's on my team. So, I can say with a fact that I believe her. She did not tear your guild apart nor did she kill Elfman. Lucy isn't what you have said she is. She defiantly isn't weak and she is stronger then you will ever know."
"Really? Lucy's strong? She seems to be the same as before. You have all be sticking up for her and fighting for the fact she didn't kill Elfman. She can't do it herself. Just like before. Lucy still has to get other people to fight her own battles. Lucy can't fight her own battles herself." Natsu said.
"NATSU!" Lucy shouted out loud finally speaking up for the first time. Her arms were stuck to her side and she looked furious. "You want to know why I haven't said anything? Do you want to know why I've kept quiet all this time? I'll tell you why. There is nothing to say to you! I don't need to explain myself to you any more. I don't need to keep saying that I didn't kill Elfman. I know I didn't. I have people who believe I didn't. I don't care any more that you don't believe me. I tried to explain myself three months ago. And, you didn't even listen to me. You refused to listen to me. Right now, I would love to prove to you that I am innocent. But, at this moment there is no point. I won't be explaining myself to you or anyone else."
Natsu growled lowly at Lucy looking at her with so much rage. He stomped towards her until he reached to her. He stood so close to her that there was only a few centimetres between them.
"Lucy, the reason that we didn't believe you was because you were lying. Even after these months you are still lying. I hate lies. I hate people who betray there friends. That is what you did. And, I hate you for it."
"HEY!" shouted a new voice, belonging to a blue haired boy who Natsu did not recognise. It was the first time this person spoke and Natsu almost forgot he was there.
The blue-haired boy stepped forwards and grabbed Lucy by her elbow. He slowly and gently pulled her backwards away from Natsu. She stumbled a bit back but gained her balance and looked back at the blue-haired boy with a questioned look on her face. The boy took a huge step forward so he was the one who was close to Natsu. He had taken Lucy's place. He was much closer to Natsu then Lucy was. Their faces were in just inches apart. The blue-haired boy looked absolutely furious and all his anger was towards the pink-haired dragon slayer. It was almost like the blue-haired boy was trying to make Natsu explode with just his mind.
"Don't you dare talk to her like that." the blue-haired boy said through gritted teeth as he stared hard at Natsu with fiery rage in his eyes.
"Oh yeah," scoffed Natsu "Who the hell do you think you are!?"
"Ren...Ren Fall." the blue-haired boy finally introduced himself before leaning closer towards Natsu before carrying on with his sentence,
"And, if you speak to Lucy like that again I will beat you and I will not be held responsible for what will happen to you."
Natsu's nostrils flared at Ren's threat. Natsu slowly lifted up his arm and curled his hand into a sharp face which he held just to the side of Ren's and his own face showing off his own threat.
"Yeah, I will like to see you try." Natsu scoffed again ready to fight if he had to defend himself.
Ren just looked calmly at Natsu almost like he ignored the threat like it was even there. Ren's body looked tense as if at any moment he was going to take action. Action against Natsu.
"Ren! Stop!" Lucy yelled as she grabbed Ren's shoulders with her hands, "don't start a fight. It's pointless."
Ren turned around towards Lucy and took a gigantic step away from Natsu and the potential fight that could still occur.
"How is it pointless!? He disrespected you! He hurt you. He deserves to be beaten in a fight!" Ren shouted out loud.
"No," Happy interrupted as his wings sprung out and he flew up so he was flying in between Ren and Lucy levelled with Ren's head. "Lucy's right. Do not start a fight. If you do things will go really bad. I don't want that for you. So, Ren don't do it. Don't start anything."
Ren sighed at Happy's wisdom words. He took a deep breath so he could calm himself down. This wasn't right. They shouldn't talk to Lucy like this. And, he wanted to teach them a lesson for this.
"Happy." Natsu whispered a small smile spreading on his face as he automatically thought that Happy was defending him.
Happy looked at Natsu and tried not to display his emotions of seeing his best friend again. It wasn't that hard. So far he didn't even recognise who Natsu was. There was so much anger in him and all of it was towards Lucy. Happy didn't know who Natsu was. It was like Natsu was a stranger to him.
"No," Happy said to Natsu whose smile disappeared instantly "I didn't stop Ren for you. I did it for him. I don't know who you are any more Natsu. Your not my best friend. Not any more. It hurts but I'm slowly getting over it. I don't want you to say all those horrible things to Lucy. Especially since it's not too...Aye?"
Natsu just stared jaw-dropped at his cat's words. He couldn't believe it. He really couldn't believe that even Happy was still against him.
On the other side of the group another incident was occurring. Gajeel wasn't able to take his eyes off his cat since Lily had first entered the guild. Gajeel would not admit it to anyone least to himself but he really missed Lily. He hated that Lily had left, more so that it was for Lucy too. Things had never been the same since Lily had left.
Gajeel stepped out from the circle towards Lily.
"Lily." Gajeel said simply. He didn't say anything else. He was not one to talk about emotions or anything sappy like that.
"Gajeel." Lily replied with the same tone as Gajeel.
"I see you came back to the guild. Did you miss it here? Did you miss your owner?" Gajeel said with his usual sadistic smirk on his face.
Lily was quick to reply, 'No I have not. To tell the truth I barely even thought of Fairy Tail or anyone in it."
Gajeel's eyes automatically darken at Lily's harsh words.
"You must have lost your mind, haven't you? To leave being my cat for Bunny Girl especially since she turned in to a traitor."
"Hey!" shouted a voice coming from a girl known as Miyah "Don't talk to Lily like that. And, defiantly don't talk about Lucy like that."
"Miyah!" shouted out another voice that belonged to her sister who is known as Mia "Don't talk to that man...Do you not see all that metal on his face? He...looks scary." she continued worriedly.
"So what!?" Miyah said confidently as she turned towards Miyah "he isn't going to scare me. He is talking badly and I don't like that. Plus, Lily is our cute new best friend!"
Lily had gotten very close to the young kids. Even though it looked like they had nothing in common, they all actually got along well. To Lily, the little girls needed some extra protection despite their powerful time magic so he had taken upon himself that job. Both Mia and Miyah loved Lily since they found him to be the 'cutest' cat ever.
"Cute? Did they just call you cute? Lily is not cute. He's strong. Not cute."Gajeel said.
"No! Lily is defiantly cute... Isn't that right Mia." Miyah asked giddily as she looked at Mia.
"Yes," Mia agreed shyly "defiantly cute."
Lily couldn't help but look more mortified by this conversation. Were they seriously arguing about his cuteness.
"Lily is my cat. I don't care about you babies opinion about him. Just go away and take a nap." Gajeel sneered. he didn't really like that many kids. And, these two were annoying especially the one named Miyah.
"No, we're not babies. And, Lily is our best friend. Not your cat any more. And, you say one more horrible thing and I will teach you a lesson!" Miyah warned although Gajeel did not take her threat seriously.
Gajeel doubled over laughing at being threatened by a little kid. This was just hilarious.
"Really?" Gajeel laughed "what are you going to do to me? Kick me with those tiny, little hands and feet?"
Miyah growled loudly not liking this man at all. He was way to mean to her. She really wanted to shout to him that she wasn't a little baby. Sure, she was young but she acted more mature than people her age... well, sometimes.
"Hey, what's going on here?" Veruna interrupted as she walked closer towards Mia and Miyah. She wasn't the only one. Nyx followed after her team-mate with a bit of an exasperated look. Veruna did get involved in a lot of stuff.
"That man is being mean to us. Miyah gave him one of her warnings." Mia replied simply as she looked down at the floor shyly again.
"That's right... And, what can a possibly a little kid do to me?" Gajeel laughed out loud again.
"Ooh, I wouldn't act that high if I were you," Veruna started as she stood completely still "Miyah isn't some ordinary little kid. She will hurt you... well, technically she can speed up your life with just one flick of her hand. And, I'm not joking about that. She can literally speed you up. I mean by that in no time you will be an o-" the rest of Veruna's droning sentence was cut off by Nyx who slapped a hand over the former's running mouth.
"Veruna," Nyx started to chaste "what do you think you're doing? Just because he asked you a question does not mean you have to answer it. You nearly gave away Miyah's main power without her permission. That means Mia's too."
"Sorry." Veruna muffled behind her closed mouth.
Gajeel looked at these people in front of him like they were insane. And, he thought people in Fairy tail acted strangely. Suddenly, Lily took a step forward a hardened look on his face.
"This is my guild now Gajeel. I am not your cat or anybody's else's so far. You mock Mia or Miyah again and I won't hesitate to attack as I have taken it upon myself to protect them. I don't care what we shared in the past. This is a present. And, I will not let you take the mockery out of any member of Scarlet Destiny...You hear me?"
Gajeel was speechless. He didn't even know what to say to that. Lily, his cat threatened him. And, he was serious.
Opposite the group above that was having this peculiar conversation was a sweating Kouta. Too many eyes. Too many people starting. He couldn't possibly take this any longer.
Wendy heard a sharp, high yelp which brought her attention to the Kouta who was next to her. All she saw was a quick blur of yellow shooting downwards to the floor.
Kouta was on the floor, shaking, sweating and mumbling words about 'devils' and 'eyes' like he would usually do when his phobia kicked in. Even though Kouta had makes leaps of progress of overcoming phobia it looked like he really hasn't even got a small handle on it. Only Wendy can look at Kouta for a long time before he would get like this with her but even that was limited. What was even worse is that she still had no idea why his phobia had come from.
"Kouta," Wendy said as she bent down herself towards the boy who was kneeling down with his head between his legs "it's okay Kouta. Nobody here is going to do anything to you. It's just that there looking."
She moved her hand to his back and started to pat it softly like it would calm him down.
"T-the e-eyes...T-their t-the problem." Kouta mumbled.
Wendy was about to reply but someone called out her name,
"Wendy?"
The girl in question looks towards the sound of her name to find Erza standing still just a few feet away from her.
"Erza." Wendy replied still crouched beside a shaking Kouta.
"I see you have returned to the guild."
"Uh, well, not exactly...I'm here for the mission. I-I joined Scarlet Destiny."
No surprise came across Erza's face at that reaction. She already knew from the start that Wendy had entered Scarlet Destiny from the start. But, Erza was a bit surprised that Wendy accepted to be in a guild in the first place.
"There really was no reason for you to leave in the first place."
Wendy's eyebrows drew together in confusion and disbelief.
"There was an important reason for me to leave. You did something to Lucy that was unforgivable. I wouldn't be able so stay with you after you did that."
"No, Wendy...we did what we had too. You may be too young to understand that now." Erza announced her face the same as usual.
"Um," interrupted Kouta as he managed to bring his head up enough so his eyes was just above his knees but his face was still mostly covered,
"I-I think what Wendy did was right. She did what she believed in. She didn't leave for just no reason. She left for Lucy. This shows her loyalty to Lucy, her friend. Wendy is old enough to understand it." Kouta replied.
Erza just gave Kouta one of her famous death stares, eyes hard and cold as coal, which caused Kouta to yelp. His head ducked down even farther which caused Wendy to look even more worriedly at him.
"Hey, is he okay?" Gray asked as he came forward beside Erza. Although this time instead of being sully clothed he was half-naked.
"Gray, clothes." Erza said simply which caused him to yelp when he realized that he was naked.
"He will be fine. This is Kouta's phobia. He doesn't like it when people stare or even look at him. It scared him." Wendy said woefully.
Erza's reply was quick, "so you join a guild with these kind of weaklings...one's that can't even let himself be seen...Wendy I didn't want you to leave as I needed to protect you. That's what my thought was when your ex-guild disappeared. My job is to protect you but I can't now."
Wendy felt anger at first for Erza to call Kouta a weakling. Then she felt sympathy. She knew that Erza wanted to protect her after what happened before but she didn't need protecting any more. Wendy was strong. Strong enough that she could support herself. She was about to say that too except someone else interrupted,
"A guild full of weaklings? Tuh, who the hell do you think you are for saying that?" Zolo said as he moved forward himself staring Erza up and down like he was assessing.
"I only spoke the truth. You have brought little kids on this mission so this guild does look inadequate." Erza said as she tried to state another fact and referring to Mia and Miyah.
"Inadequate, you say?" Zolo repeated and the smallest grin appeared on his face, "you are sorely mistaken. Weak is what I call my enemies. So, you are the great Titania? I've heard many rumours about your strength but now seeing you face to face I am poorly impressed."
Erza nostrils flared at Zolo's obvious insult. Who was this guy? How could he seem to talk to her like that so calmly? She gave one of her death stares to Zolo but it didn't even have a single effect. Zolo looked so bored. He even yawned!
"You have no idea what I can do." Erza said through gritted teeth.
"Oh really?" Zolo said as an eerie smirk appeared on his face "Why don't you come forward then? I mean, you want to get cut into pieces? Be my guest. I will enjoy it."
Zolo moved a hand to the hilt of one of his swords as if he was actually going to draw it and attack. Erza took a step back but didn't make any movement to go at him. She knew very well that she couldn't start a fight with them. It wasn't logical. And, she wasn't going to rush into this.
"Erza." Wendy said bravely as she stood up from a balled-up Kouta "I don't need your protection any more. I am strong to protect myself. Don't treat me as just a child any more. I am more than just that. I am strong. And, I will protect myself."
Erza just stood there looking at Wendy in total surprise. Her eyes were widened and it was one of those rare times of proper emotions. Wendy was standing up for herself. Wendy had such courage Erza had no idea about.
Jared stared hard at the Master of Fairy Tail not liking this at all. The old man was still arguing with him about Lucy and how much pain she had caused the guild. But, he did not understand it at all. It didn't make any sense.
"Lucy did not do anything wrong! I understand you lost someone important to you but your just blaming it on the first thing which is Lucy. That is wrong." Jared said backing up for Lucy.
"I've just told you this. I would not blame one of my children for another children's death except I know it is the truth. Lucy did this. She caused my guild to fall apart. She was the one that caused Wendy and our Exceeds to leave our guild!" Makarov shouted back.
"No, that's just plain wrong." Jared retorted back "Wendy and the Exceeds left in your guild on their own free will. Lucy didn't make them leave. They were just loyal to Lucy and left. They knew what was wrong and they knew what to do about it."
"What about Wendy and the Exceeds loyalty to my guild? Is that nothing to them? Lucy was the cause of them leaving because if she didn't kill Elfman then none of this would have happened. If she wasn't so close to Wendy or the Exceeds they would never have left." Makarov shouted back.
"But, Lucy didn't kill Elfman!" Jared exploded.
Everyone was stressed out and furious with each other. No one from Scarlet Destiny or Fairy Tail were getting on. Nothing was making any sense. Things were going down even worse then Jared expected. In any moment one of them were going to lose it and do something that would ruin everything.
But...something stopped this from happening. Something suddenly paused all the anger in the people who were fighting each other. Jared and Zolo were the first ones to notice. Their anger just seemed to come apart. Then Ren and Kuro felt this followed by Lucy and everyone else. It just felt like something was peeling away their anger.
Even Fairy tail members were feeling it. Natsu and Erza felt that all their anger was being sucked out of them or being morphed into something else. Makarov also felt calmness relax into his body and he felt his muscles and joints relax. Other members of the guild was feeling this too.
Then, Makarov and other members knew what was different now. An acute alluring tune was playing out through the atmosphere. It was soft, gentle and a beautiful sad tune. Makarov instantly looked around the guild for the source of this mysterious music.
His eyes landed upon a blonde girl who was swaying side to side as she held a flute in her hands that was against her mouth... It was Sarah, Scarlet Destiny's second in command. She was the cause of the soft tune. She had her eyes closed and was playing the flute almost like she had played it for all her life. The whole guild was silent and the only sound was this amazing soulful tune.
Finally, the tune just abruptly stopped. The whole guild just stared at her. She lowered the flute from her mouth and her eyes drifted open. Sarah instantly realized everyone was looking at her and she felt so embarrassed but she just gave them a small smile. She turned to Jared who she was now a few feet apart from. His eyes were wide but there was recognition in them.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to use my magic so abruptly. It was just...you all were so mad and I just wanted you all to be calm. I needed you to be calm. So I used my magic." Sarah apologized.
"It's al-right. You did the right thing." Jared replied in his soft tone.
Everyone was still speechless blinded by the tune that was playing just a few minutes ago. Makarov was the first to snap out of it though,
"What was that? What did you do?" he demanded wanting to know the answer.
Sarah took a deep breath almost like she was going to take sometime explaining this,
"It was my magic. Long story short I can control people's emotions. I can control people's emotions with my music. So, I guess you can say I have music magic. I can change people emotions to something else like I changed your emotions to anger to peacefulness. I can play any instrument and my magic can work with any instrument. My music can persuade you to do things you would never really do. I guess you can say it takes a lot of control. I didn't want to use my magic but something bad might of happened if I let your anger increase. So I used it. I really hope that is okay."
This was the first time Lucy, Wendy and the Exceeds were finding about Sarah's magic. And, it was defiantly worthy of being second in command for.
"Thank you for that. We were all being rational. Now, let's get back to topic with the mission. Fairy Tail you have to join us if we want to defeat Lacus Animarium."
"Never...I cannot join a mission with Lucy on the team." Makarov was quick to snap back.
Jared sighed knowing this wasn't going to go well. But, he had to now use a more manipulative method.
"Fine, don't join us on the mission...But, think about how the council will feel about this? I don't think they will be very happy to know that this suppose alliance broke before it even really started. I think they will be displease with Fairy Tail the most. Because no matter how much the council hates Scarlet Destiny they hate Fairy Tail even more. They will not like to find out that the reason the alliance is broken if because Fairy Tail cannot partner up with Fairy Tail because of what the Magic Council will classify as a 'petty excuse'. If you break this alliance like this Fairy Tail and the Magic Council will be on worst terms then ever. Will you risk the tear of your relationship with the Magic council?"
Makarov started at the young manipulative boy. Even though he hated to admit it, it was true. The council would not approve of Fairy Tail breaking up the alliance for this reason. It looks like he had no choice. There was no way. It seemed he had to the very thing his heart was against.
"Fine...Fairy Tail will partner up with Scarlet Destiny...For this mission." Makarov managed to force out.
And done! Whew that was a long chapter and it has a lot of stuff in this chapter but I hoped I did it really, really good. I know for a face that this is really emotional. I know most people wanted an all out fight to break between Scarlet Destiny characters and Fairy Tail but I decided against it. It just didn't seem right. Like, it is too obvious to do as most Lucy-leaves-Fairy-Tail-Fics always have this big massive fight straight away and it never makes sense. Although, don't worry fights will come up between characters but that will be in a few chapters.
Please read the following...Please read the following...Please read the following stuff!:
1) So this chapter is super long because I really have no idea when I will update. Now, I have my first exams in two-week so no way can I update my usual two so it has to be later but I have no idea when. I know for a fact I will be on a regular schedule after 'June 19th' since that is when my last exam is... But for now I have no idea when I will update.
2) Yes, I will be doing a pre-story fic about Scarlet Destiny's past. This will come out after a few more chapters of this. Just so you know I will be revealing all characters past in this story but details of events will be written in the pre-story which I know most of you really want to read. I'm thinking about calling the pre-story 'The Re-telling of Scarlet Destiny' What do you think of the name?
Please, Please. Please review for this chapter. I really want to know your thoughts for this as this is a key chapter in the story. That's all I have to say for now.
Till next time...See yh!
