Angel's POV

As I awoke the morning after my meeting with Skye, my stomach was doing flips that morning as I planned to see Lumina once my chores were finished, and all too soon it seemed that I was approaching Romana's mansion, nerves running through my mind as I approached the main door. Knocking I waited tentatively Skye the only thing on my mind that was soothing and able to keep me running a mile instead of facing up to the truth. 'Ah Angel, do come in are you here to see Romana?' Sebastian questioned, the aging yet faithful butler standing aside to permit me into the mansion. 'No,' I answered shaking my head, 'I'm here to see Lumina is she here?'

'Yes, she's up in her room you know the way?'

'Upstairs and straight ahead,' I recited instantly, the kindly butler nodding with a smile as he gestured for me to go on up the stairs which I did, a feeling of nausea sweeping over me as I got to her bedroom door and knocked.

Hearing Lumina's light voice call me in, I opened the door and stepped into her room, a strong smell of tea greeting me as I walked into her richly decorated room which made no effort to hide the considerable wealth which Lumina's family was well known for. 'Angel, hi, I didn't expect to see you today,' she said smiling at me 'look at what Rock bought me isn't it pretty?' she said, the name paining me as she held out her wrist where a shining silver bracelet was, the clasp a heart lock which made me feel all the more anxious in telling her about Rock's true colours. 'Lumina there's something I need to tell you,' I breathed wondering just how to tell her, there was no easy way to do it without crushing her happiness, but the guilt at her not knowing what Rock was possibly capable of was paining me with guilt. It was however as I began to explain myself, that the door opened and the one man I hoped not to see walked in. Rock stood in the door way looking bold and overly confident as usual, not the man I had seen cower under Skye's cold words, and upon seeing me his skin paled more so than mine, however this was something he aimed to hide.

'Well I didn't expect to see you here Angel, I just dropped by to bring you these flowers Lumina they match your unequivocal beauty.'

'Big word for you, I never knew you were able to charm people,' I said quietly the words I spoke were ones I regretted but the bitterness of the situation made me unable to stop myself. As Rock watched me questioning why I would be here, Lumina answered the question for him, 'Angel was just visiting as she said she had something important to tell me,' she said innocently unaware of the involvement Rock played in this, though as his eyes darted from Lumina's to mine, I could see his widen with fear, fully acknowledging what I was about to do. 'Angel, may I have a word,' he asked his voice edging with fear as I nodded briefly unable to do much else but follow him out of the room. Once alone he pulled me to the side looking into my eyes desperately. 'Don't do this,' he told me the warning in his voice revealed unsuccessfully as panic took over his emotions, 'you have no hold over me,' I answered simply watching his expression turn more pleading, 'please don't do this, Lumina can't know, I was stupid okay, I admit it'

'She doesn't know what you did, how can I stand and watch while she is blissfully there not knowing what you…'

'But I did nothing; I held your wrist for a few moments…'

'You scared me Rock, and though I saw the regret and I don't believe you would have ever hurt me, I can't let this happen without Lumina knowing the truth, it's right and you can't change my mind,' I told him with the most defiance I could bring to my voice.

Rock watched me for a few moments trying to come up with an excuse…a way which would prevent me from telling Lumina everything, but eventually he stood aside and made for the stairs. 'Tell her all you wish, fate can only be on one side I pray it works in my favour,' he said solemnly,

'Everything happens for a reason,' I muttered softly, before returning to Lumina's room and finally telling her everything, the young girls expression remaining unreadable throughout before as I finished the last word she couldn't look up at me but down at her hands, twisting her wrist were the bracelet moved slightly. 'I never knew…all this time I thought it was me he'd loved, but I was just a second choice…a last resort…' she said tears welling up in her eyes. 'I'm so sorry Lumina,' I said sincerely, the weight which was meant to lift off my shoulders not doing so,

'I-I want to be alone please,' there was no anger in her voice but I knew it was what she wanted, so I stood feeling awful as I turned back appealing for a final time, 'I'm sorry.' Going out and shutting the door, I heard no reply from Lumina only her sobs which now began to echo through the door, the pangs of guilt striking me as I quickly descended the stairs and out the front door without looking back, the stress I was beginning to feel was not easing as I reached the fountain and knelt down beside it. Resting my face in my arms I was undisturbed as I sat quietly, trying to gather myself before facing anyone in the village, though someone found me before I was able to do so.

'Feeling faint are we?' came the strangely bubbling voice of the Witch Princess, a rush of air blowing my hair telling me she had come next to me. 'I'm not faint,' I answered quietly,

'Oh…I thought maybe you were…well you get a reward if you manage it,' she grinned, though I wasn't in the mood for hearing her taunting as I stood from my position and walked away with no further words to say, however for the first time since I had arrived in the valley she was persistent. 'Hey! You can't just walk away from me,' she said indignantly, incredulous by the fact how I did not stop and turn, this unusual mood I was in not ceasing despite her calls as she followed me on her broom with some ease. 'Just leave me be,' I sighed finally, the Witch Princess not taking this in as obvious as it seemed, 'oh I know what this is about…you've gone and taken sides with the Harvest Sprites and the Harvest Goddess over me?! Well I know I'm not exactly the most perfect but at least I know how to have some fun.' Bringing myself to a stop I turned and faced the irritated Witch Princess with an weary expression, 'please, this has nothing to do with the Harvest Sprites, or the Harvest Goddess, I have a lot on my mind and I just need some space so please leave me be' I said emphasizing the final three words with an final glance at her before turning away, the Witch Princess stunned and taken aback by my words.

I hadn't meant to come across as harsh but I was just so confused, I had possibly lost a friendship through honesty, and Rock was annoyed with me too, and through all of this on my mind I didn't pay much attention to where I was walking, and that's when I walked into him. 'Ouch,' was all I heard bringing me too look up instantly apologising when Marlin caught my pained expression and gave me a concerned look, 'Angel? You okay?' he asked though his own voice sounded strained as if with anger, 'I…yes, whats wrong?' I asked trying to take the attention off me and with some success. 'There is a problem…' he admitted, 'I was coming to see you for some help tonight but if you're not up too it…'

'Go on,' I cut across him simply, helping Marlin may just be enough to take my mind off today's troubles, 'We got a note from the Phantom Skye,' he told me, my skin losing some colour at these words…why today? Why did Skye have to do this to me today? I thought my day becoming worse with this sudden news. I barely caught the end of his explanation, Marlin handing me the note.

Tonight I shall have a midnight harvest…

Yours Truly

Phantom Skye

Reading it again, I couldn't believe this was happening, I was just in utter disbelief, I wasn't sure just how much more stress I was going to have to be put through today. However, Marlin, Celia and Vesta were my friends I could not let them down, so naturally I agreed to help. 'Thanks Angel,' he grinned pulling me into a one armed embrace before letting me go just as quickly, the blush forming across his face as he cleared his throat. 'Well I'll see you tonight Angel,' he told me before heading back to the farm, my mind racing as I went up the path to the Goddess pond resting against a tree in the shade and breathing deeply, how could my day be going so wrong? I needed to speak to Skye, to prevent him from doing this tonight, but how? His presence was always a sly and well planned out one. I just needed some space, some freedom from my clouded mind but I couldn't see it, tonight would not be easy, and I knew it may end badly…

Skye's POV

I wasn't sure if I had done the right thing in planting the note, but Phantom Skye never went back on his word, I was too courteous for that, and naturally I knew as soon as Angel learned I would be there she would come, which was my reasoning behind it. Vesta, she was the owner of the farm as far as I was aware with two ranch hands who I knew were Angel's friends, and being the innocent beauty she was I knew she would go tonight to help. I prayed it for the first time; I had no intention to steal tonight, with the exception of stealing Angel away on a wistful and surprising evening as I had done at the dig site. My plan was perfection and nothing would change that, I had every certainty. Looking at the clock I saw it was 5pm, I would be setting off in a few hours time, but looking outside I noted how grey the weather was becoming and frowned, how could you have a romantic twilight evening with no stars to light up the darkening sky? It would surely clear up though I was hopeful of it.

Angel's POV

I had been out all day and only returned home to wash and have a quick shower before going to Vesta's farm; I needed something to refresh me, to help clear my mind, though as I got changed I felt like there had been no change what so ever. Saddened as I pulled my jacket around me I finally came out of my home and locked the door, putting the key safely in my jeans pocket and walking towards the entrance to the farm when I realised I hadn't offloaded my items to be shipped that day. Despite knowing it was far too late and Thomas would have been and gone I placed the items in the shipping bin, knowing I would be able to walk with a lighter weight. However as I placed the final item in, a dazzling light shone before me, the sprite which appeared shocking me more so than usual, the appearance unexpected. 'Angel, thank you! I am so very grateful that you have rescued me, I shall help you if I can,' he said beaming at me, before disappearing as quickly as he came. Surprised by this I remembered what I was doing after a few moments, and decided I didn't need my bag, so I quickly returned to my room, putting the rucksack inside and going at a quicker pace towards Vesta's farm, the dim lights inside their house telling me they were inside.

Walking into the room, the air was tense as Vesta discussed her plans. 'This is a big farm, so I suggest we go off in the four separate corners of the farm and surround that dirty Phantom, he won't get away with my crops so easily' Vesta growled irritably, I wasn't phased by the idea of being alone with Skye, in fact it was something which would make my alternate plan of the evening much easier. It was however Marlin who voiced concern over the idea, not liking the idea of Celia and me being left alone with a thief, 'we don't know just what he's capable of,' he said with a grim expression, leaving me fighting not to allow my voice to give away the fact I knew he would do nothing to hurt anyone. Though unfortunately, Vesta decided it maybe easier and quicker to trap Skye with two teams on each side of the farm. So after little more talk we set out into the dark night, I was with Vesta and Celia was naturally with Marlin so being in the south end of Vesta's farm I wondered just what I was going to do in stopping Skye without looking suspicious in front of Vesta…but no that didn't matter now, what mattered was helping Skye get out unscathed because knowing Vesta, he may not get out without a black eye if she managed to catch him.

After what seemed like hours of standing in the cold I began to shiver in the lowering temperatures, and it was only as I brushed my hair back behind me that I saw him, his light silver hair catching in the wind so easily and blowing around his young face. As Vesta followed my eye-line she yelled out making me jump, 'stop ya rat!' Skye watched her with some shock at her being so near to me however he then looked somewhat amused at the situation, 'why my dear, this does make my intentions for the evening more interesting,' he said smoothly winking at me. 'Ya ain't gettin' away with any of my vegetables ya rotten dirty rat,' Vesta spat harshly, Skye looking for a moment and considering the situation, he could not use "maiden chick beam" without Angel being caught in the line of fire, and as he promised he would never use that on her, so without another moment wasted, he turned on his heel merely telling them both, 'as my work is already done I must jet,' he said noting before he left how I shivered and winked another two times at me, he then went around the wrong way, meeting Celia and Marlin on the way. 'Your theft stops here thief,' he said with anger clear in his voice, Skye frowning upon this, 'do you really think it's mysterious for me to be caught by a man?' he said almost revolted by the idea.

As Vesta walked up with quite a pace behind Skye, I tried my best struggling to keep up when we reached them and I realised he was trying to charm Celia, before using "Maiden Chick Beam" on Celia and easily dodging past her, the slick thief quickly getting out of sight much to my relief, but to the despair of Vesta, Marlin and an unnerved Celia who had to lie down after she regained control of her limbs, feeling ultimately shaken, and that was when the guilt came over me in waves again, and I was desperate to get out, thankful when they finally let me go. It was as I got outside I took a very deep breath of fresh air, doubting my day had gone like it had, but as I began to walk towards home I saw Skye leant against the side of the wooden bridge watching me with a grin, however the closer I got towards him the more I felt light-headed and it was only as I neared him he seemed to notice something was wrong as my legs finally gave way and I fell into Skye's waiting arms his concerned word the last I heard, 'Angel…' his name and face fading into a darkness.
