Makima sat there stunned at his words, knowing well deep within her heart he meant every word; she must sat there awhile cause she felt him let go of her hands and stand up to leave, mumbling that he was stupid to have said that.

"It wasn't stupid," she said as he turned to walk away, "it was the most honest and heart-felt thing anyone has ever said to me."

He turned back to face her only to find himself with her arms wrapped around his neck in a tight hug; of course being a few inches taller than her he had to kind of lean down slightly.

"I love you too, Michelangelo," he heard her whisper softly.

He felt his heart stop beating for what seemed forever; she loved him back, and not as a friend but as something more. He wrapped his arms around her holding her closer him, smiling like he was the happiest turtle in the world. He felt her pull back slightly and looked down at her; before he could say anything about their confessions he felt something soft press against his lips in a gentle and loving manner. It took him a minute to realize that she was kissing him.

After getting over the initial shock, he felt himself kissing her back; however the moment was broken when the matching charms around their necks started to glow, bathing them both in a blinding light.

Back at the lair, Raphael had woken up for a midnight snack and had just reached the stairs when the power went out suddenly; being only half awake, he missed the step and ended up tripping down the metal stairwell and landing with a crash.

"What the shell," he groaned holding his head as he sat up before he shouted, "Yo Donny! Get your shell up now!"

There was a few minutes of silence before a head popped out of one of the bedrooms.

"What is your problem Raph," the second youngest turtle asked rubbing at his eyes.

"The freaking power went out that's my problem," he yelled back at his brother.

Leo, who had been doing meditation, walked out of his room to see what the commotion was about, but he noticed something else was wrong.

"Hey guys," he called out catching their attention.

The two stopped their squabbling and carefully made their way over to their older brother; what should have been a sea of lights from across the water was now blanketed in darkness. Not a single light was shining, even the dock lights were out.

"Something is going on; we need to find out what and fast," Leo said turning to the other two, "Don, you get some flashlights and lanterns, Raph I need you to wake up Mikey and go check the perimeter, I'll go inform Master Splinter."

The three brothers split up to complete their tasks; Leo found Master Splinter already awake and aware of what happened, Donny found the flashlights and hurried over to them, but Raph came back to the group alone.

"Where's Mikey," Don asked.

"He wasn't in his room, and not in the kitchen," Raph responded.

"Your brother is not here my sons," Master Splinter spoke up catching their attention, "he went to check on the Heart family's apartment and to clear his head about something that was troubling him."

"He didn't say when he was coming back," Raph asked, trying to hide the concern in his voice.

Their master shook his head, and that only made the turtles worry more; they had to find their brother.

Michelangelo felt like his body was being ripped apart, piece by painful piece; his mind kept screaming in agony as he blinded by a burning light. After what seemed like an eternity everything stopped; he struggled for a few minutes to just open his eyes, and when he finally did all he saw was darkness. When he tried to move he found that his limbs were too weak to respond to his brain; when he fell back, his body was met with a softness like he was resting on a mattress.

He saw a small light in the corner of his eye and turned his head to see a candle resting in its holder on a bedside table; next to the bed was a hunched, shadowed figure who seemed to be sleeping. When his eyes adjusted he made the figure out to be the elder he had met a few months ago; he tried to speak, but it caused him to go into a coughing fit and woke up the older man.

"You certainly know how to make an old man jump my boy," Whitefeather chuckled softly moving to stand by his side.

He helped Mikey into a sitting position but it felt odd when the elder touched his back to sit up; it was like his shell had flattened out.

"What…"

"I understand you probably have some questions, but you need to relax and remain at peace," the elder said calmly, "now can you tell me what the last thing you remember is?"

Mikey tried to remember the last events, "I came to the apartment to make sure it wasn't getting robbed, then I saw Kima had come back so I came over to talk to her. We sat up on the roof and hung out and then I…"

He suddenly stopped remembering that he had confessed his feelings to her, but even more she returned the feelings and they shared a romantic kiss. That was when the flash of light happened and the pain surrounded his body like being caught in a gas fire explosion. He lifted up a shaky hand to lean his head on, but he didn't expect to feel something soft and almost bristle-like to touch his fingers. He was even more stunned when he actually looked at his hand in the dim candle light; he looked around the room for some type of mirror and froze seeing his reflection in the dark window.

The shock sent him screaming off the bed and landing in a heap on the floor; the elder kneeled by the shaking boy trying to calm him down.

"What's happened to me?! Why do I look like a human?!"
