I DO NOT OWN THE HUSH HUSH SERIES
"Nora?"
Nora inhaled deeply and then exhales. This was either going to go well or really bad. Nora prayed for the best.
"Scott, I know this may seem a little weird b-"
"Weird doesn't even begin to cover it! What the hell kind of joke are you playing Grey?" Scott exclaimed.
"You have to listen to me Scott! You have to meet Patch and I on the outskirts of town. Please, I'll explain everything when you get there. Please?" Nora pleaded over the phone. She was gripping the phone tightly. Patch was looking at her with concern. He had no idea why Scott was such an asset to the mission. They were sitting behind an old abandoned gas station on the outskirts of Coldwater in the jeep.. It was far enough that the jeep was covered behind the building.
Scott was silent for a few minutes before he answered. "This better be good. You have a lot of explaining to do Nora.. Now where are you at?" Nora gave him the directions to where to meet her. She shut Patch's phone and handed it to him. He was looking curiously at her.
"What?" She asked shyly. Her hands were knotted in her lap. Her gray eyes were locked with dark ones. Patch was leaned against the door and his elbows were propped up against the window. His dark hair was mussed as usual. His clothes seemed a little creased from all the action that happened this morning but otherwise he still looked gorgeous as ever.
"Are you sure Scott knows what he is?" Patch asked with concern. Nora smiled a little. She knew that he was concerned that Scott didn't know and that the plan was going to back fire.
"I'm positive." She reached over the counsel and grabbed his hand and squeezed. He squeezed back. He leaned forward so he could rest his forehead against hers. He closed his eyes and inhaled. He could smell her scent. He had missed her so much and he couldn't believe that she was back, right there in front of him. He brought his free hand around to cup the back of her neck and held her in place gently as he brought his lips to hers. Nora responded automatically by opening her lips to let his tongue explore her mouth. She racked her hands through his hair and gripped it lightly to held his head in place. Patch rested his now other free hand on her waist as he slyly raised her shirt up so that he could feel her naked skin. He pulled Nora over the counsel with ease so that she was straddling his lap so he could feel her body pressed against his. There was still a part of him that thought he was dreaming all of this. He was afraid that he would wake up from this blissful dream and Nora we would be gone again and he would be back in his own personal hell.
Nora let out a small moan as she felt Patch's hand on her skin. She could feel the goose bumps rise as Patch moved his mouth from hers and skimmed it down her chin down to her neck. Patch nuzzled into her neck and inhaled her scent one more time. He smiled as he exhaled. "I love you so much Angel." Nora shivered from the caress of his breath on her skin. When Patch spoke those words she could a feel a swelling in her heart begin to bloom.
"I love you as well." She whispered back as she leaned her head against his. Her eyes were sill closed as the two of them comfortably sat in their embrace. Both Nora and Patch never wanted this moment to end but they both knew that Scott would be arriving at any moment. Nora reluctantly pulled away from pulled away from Patch and peered into his dark orbs.
"I promise, no matter what happens, I will always be with you. Never forget that." Nora said as she brought her hand up to Patch's face and caressed it. He leaned into her touch and closed his eyes. He still gently held Nora by her waist.
"Please don't talk like that. You make it sound like you're going to leave again and I don't think that I'll be able to handle it a second time. The first time was unbearable. I don't know what would happen if I lost you again..." Patch sighed. He couldn't stand the thought of losing her again.
Before Nora could say anything else, there was a harsh knock on the driver's side window. Both Nora and Patch jumped and looked. Scott was peering into the tinted window. His hands cupping his eyes so he could see inside better.
Nora looked at Patch with wide eyes. She didn't expect Scott to speed all the way to their meeting spot. But then again, this was Scott. Nora leaned over and opened the door. She slid off of Patch's lap as she slowly made her way out of the Jeep. Scott backed away from the door when Nora opened and slid out of the Jeep. She waited for Patch to follow her lead. Patch closed the door and laced his fingers with Nora's as they both looked at Scott.
He didn't seem to change a bit when Nora laid her eyes on him. He was still same ol' Scott. The only thing that seemed off was that he was disgruntled and his eyes were piercing instead of being light and happy. He was squinting from the setting sunlight but he seemed pissed off either way. His tall build was rigid. His hands were stuffed into his sweat pants. His t-shirt was creased, as if he found it on his bedroom floor and put it on.
"Sco-" Nora was about to say his name before he cut her off.
"What the hell kind of sick joke is this Grey? Even for you this pretty low!" He yelled. He didn't know what the hell was going on but he was determined to find out for Vee's sake and his. Nora let go of Patch's hand and took a step closer to Scott. He pulled his hands out of his pocket's and held them up to stop her from coming closer. "Stop. Stay where you are and explain what the fuck is going on. Right. Now."
Nora sighed and ran her hands through her hair. This was not the way she wanted things to go.
"Scott, I- I know what you are..." She trailed off. Scott's rigid body tensed even more. He slowly dropped his hands back to his side.
"That doesn't answer my question Grey." He glared at her. Nora looked behind her at Patch. He was looking at her. He had crossed his arms in front of his chest. His eyes were encouraging her to go on and to tell Scott. Nora sighed and turned her gaze back to Scott and started to explain about everything that happened to her since Patch magically pulled her out of the dimension before you enter Heaven. How they've been on the run because of Rixon...
"See Scott this is where you fit in... I know what you are.. You're a Nephilim." Nora whispered. She knew that Scott knew as well. She was watching over him the day he found out. It was the day that he got marked by the Black Hand. The was the scariest day that ever happened to Scott and that only happened a few days after Nora passed away.
Scott was standing in the same stance that Patch was with his arms crossed in front of his chest. He still looked a little defiant but not as bad as he did when he first showed. up. His eyes were less piercing, but they were still guarded. Nora took a few steps back so that she was standing next to Patch again. It was silent for a few minutes before Scott spoke.
"So now what? I suppose I can't tell Vee anything. It's already hard enough telling her that I'm sometime of freak created by the fallen. So now I can't tell her that her best friend is back from the dead? This just keeps on getting on fucking bizarre each day."
"Please Scott, you cannot tell Vee. I don't want her to know anything. This could crush her," Nora pleaded. Scott looked at her skeptically. He knew that Nora was right.
"So how do I come into this..this predicament?" He finally said after considering Nora's words. Nora smiled a little.
"Do you know who Rixon is?" Patch asked. He was silent through the whole explanation of what happened only two days ago. Scott nodded his head. He did not like where this was going at all. Rixon was a fallen angel. Scott would see him from afar but he didn't dare cross path's with him afraid that me might become his next vessel.
"What about him?"
"Do you know where he might live." Scott shook his head. He did not like where this was going at all.
"Why?" He asked.
Patch sighed a little in frustration. They needed to know where Rixon lived and they needed to know fast. Nora reached for one of Patch's arms and stroked it soothingly as she started to speak again.
"We need to know where he lives because - as I told you- I'm the female descendant from Rixon's vessel. If he can sacrifice me he can become human. But if we find where he lives, we can fins his feather..."
"What does a feather have to do anything about this?" Scott asked in exasperation as he flung out his arms out in front of him. He still couldn't wrap around his head that Nora was back.
"If we find his feather and burn it we can send the fucker to hell. Where he belongs." Patch growled. Just thinking about Rixon getting anywhere near Nora set him on edge. He would protect her in any way possible. Nora was still soothingly stroking his arm as she kept her gaze on Scott. Slowly but surely, realization dawned on Scott.
"So your asking me to see if I will spy for you to see where he lives?" He asked incredulously. "You know if I get caught because of this, he can make me swear to be his vessel, right?"
"That's why I'll be coming with you," Patch said confidently. Scott only starred at him. The soon was at it's last peak as the hues of the sunset started to turn into the twilight of the night. The light of the old gas station started to flicker on.
Scott shook his head and let out a bitter laugh. "Grey, you're going to owe me so much when or if we make it out alive. You hear me?"
Nora impishly smiled and walked over to Scott and wrapped her arms around him. "Thank you so much Scott."
Scott returned her embrace with a bear hug. "I've miss you Grey." He said as he spun her around.
"Hey that's enough! Stop pawing at my girl!" Patch said teasingly as Scott placed Nora on her feet. Nora Walked back over to Patch and hugged him as well. Scott laughed. He couldn't believe that Nora was back. The last time he saw her, she was on her death bed. She looked so healthy and happy. Like her old self.. Somewhat. Minus all the crap that's been going on between Rixon.
"So, when do we start?" Scott asked as he rubbed his hands together devishly.
"Soon as possible" Nora and Patch both said at the same time.
"Perfect," Scott purred.
