Alice's POV:

I opened my eyes slowly. I was in the bed. Bandages was wrapped around my body. I felt really sore and I was numb. I looked around and saw Sharon in front of me. She smiled and put a wet towel on my head. It felt nice.

"There there", she said.

I blacked out once more. When I woke up again, it was dark. I looked around to see if i was alone. My body felt all better and i slowly got up. I looked out the window. The moon came up and shined down brightly. It was a full moon. I wonder if Jack is alright. I got out of bed slowly. When I touched the floor, my head started hurting. I sat on the bed and waited till it went away. I slowly walked to the door and out into the hallway. The lights were glowing in the darkness. I went to Jack's room and opened it slowly. Jack was there sitting on his bed. He looked over towards me and got out of bed quickly.

"What are you doing out of bed?" he asked softly.

He picked me up and carried me to his bed. He laid me there gently.

"You're still healing", he said.

I looked away. I was still mad at him for not letting me go. I pouted and turned around and faced the wall. I pulled the covers over my head.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

I still didn't answer. He laughed softly.

"Is it because I didn't let you fight?" he asked.

I pushed him away. He laughed again.

"Stop laughing!" I exclaimed, "I saved your life!"

He smiled.

"I know I know", he said smiling.

I pulled the covers down and narrowed my eyes at him. I observed him. He was wearing a white cotton shirt along with soft gray pants. He had a bandage around his arms and head. I looked up and touched his arm gently. He winced softly. I got up and check out his arm. I started to take off the bandage, but he stopped me.

"Don't", he winced.

"You're hurt", I said.

I started to unwrap it slowly. It was swollen and red, there was some glass stuck to his arm. I looked up at him.

"You need to take this off", I said.

"I know", he said.

"Why haven't you?" I asked.

"I'm scared that it might not stop bleeding", he said.

I place my hand on the glass and pulled quickly. He made a yelp and winced. There was no blood around the area. I looked at him and smiled.

"See?" I asked, 'No bleeding."

He smiled and laid down on the bed. I wrapped the bandage around his arm over and over again. I looked down at him.

"You're leaving after this", said Jack.

I nodded.

"Will you be coming back?" he asked.

I shrugged.

"I don't know", I said.

"Well, if you aren't coming back", he said, "Can I do something?"

I looked at him. He got up slowly and cupped my face in his hand. I looked at him blushing. He came closer and closer. I closed my eyes tightly. I could feel his breath on my nose. He pinned my bangs back and plopped back down. I opened my eyes slightly. He smiled.

"There", he said.

I got angry and punched him.

"I thought you were going to kiss me!" I exclaimed.

I blushed greatly. Jack laughed.

"Do you want me to?" he asked.

I grew more red. I slapped him lightly on his chest. His hands snaked around my waist and pulled me close to him. I yelped.

'It looks like you want me to", he said softly.

I struggled.

"No!" I exclaimed.

He smiled and wrapped his other arm around me and dug his head on my head.

"I want this to last", he said sleepily.

I blushed. My face was practically red. I stopped struggling because he was holding onto me tightly. He was breathing slowly. I smiled. I hope that I would be here tomorrow. I closed my eyes and slept.

When I woke up the next morning, the light was shining on my eyes. I opened my eyes and cringed. I was still in Jack's arms. I nudged him softly. He pulled me closer. I sighed and pushed him off the bed. He landed with a thump, yet he didn't move. I got worried and slipped out of bed. I sat next to him and poked his cheek. He was warm and then in a flash he grabbed my hand and brought me next to him.

"Good morning", he said happily.

I struggled again.

"What?!" I exclaimed, "Let go of me!"

I struggled in his arms. He held me tighter.

"No", he said, "You'll be gone today so I want to be able to be with you."

I stopped struggling. Was I ever going to come back? I relaxed in his arms. After a couple of minutes, he got up and rubbed his face in his hands. HIs golden hair was messy yet it looked great on him. Just like how Oz's hair was. I smiled and got up.

"Let's get ready", he said.

I went to my room and started to clean up. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. I wore a white dress. I tied up my hair. I looked at the mirror and saw what Jack put in my hair. It was a silver pin with white diamonds on them. It was a cute bunny. The necklace that Oz gave me laid warmly on my chest. It was shining brightly in the sun. I smiled and opened the door. Oz was there. His eyes widened and blushed.

"Um….Alice", he said nervously.

"What do you want?' I asked.

"I just wanted to escort you to the dining hall", he said smiling.

"Alright", I said.

We walked to the dining table. I looked over at Oz. He's gotten taller than me and he's gotten a bit more handsome. I smiled to myself.

"This is the first seeing you smile", he said.

I looked up and my smile disappeared.

"Oh, it disappeared again", he said.

I looked down.

"I'm sorry what happened in the past", he said, "I apologize. I was very immature and non caring."

"You're forgiven", i said.

He smiled.

"Really?" he asked.

I nodded. I walked down the steps and entered the dining room. Alot of people were there. I looked around. Looking for Jack. I saw him talking with other young ladies.

"Why is there a party today?" I asked.

"Well, since the war is over, we made a party all for you", he said.

I smiled.

"Well, it wasn't just me", I said.

He shook his head.

"You saved the town and they are grateful", he said.

I smiled. I walked down the stairs with Oz and the people looked over at us. I smiled brightly. Everyone was clapping loudly. Everyone was shouting with joy. I looked around and smiled happily. The music started playing. Everyone started to dance. I looked around for a partner to dance with.

"Would you like to dance?" asked a voice.

I turned around and saw Gil there. I smiled and took his hand. We went to the dance floor and slow danced. I had so much fun dancing in the night. After the music finished, I went to sit down. I didn't feel like eating. I sat down alone. People came over to thank me. Some wanted my signature. I was grateful that I had saved their town. I looked at the water glass and sighed. I'm spending my last day alone. I put my head down on the table. I had an idea. I got up and sneaked out of the house. I walked outside to the water fountain. I sat down and looked at the water. I put my hand in it and swirled it around. It was pretty cold and it felt good on a warm day. I got up and walked around the water fountain. There was Jack leaning against the water fountain. I smiled and sneaked up on him.

"Ladies, please stop following me", he said.

He got up and turned around. He stopped and blushed.

"It's you", he said.

"It's me", I replied laughing, "I see the girls haven't stopped following you around. Jack blushed.

"I try to keep them away", he said, "That's why I came out here."

"I see", I said, "You should never run away from women", I said.

"Why not?' he asked.

"Then you make the woman feel lonely and hated", I said, "You have to be polite and go on with it."

I looked over to Oz. He was surrounded by many women.

"Like how Oz is doing it", I said, "Keep your patient in."

Jack rubbed his face slowly.

"Well, I don't want to", he said.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because I want to be with you and you only", he said.

I blushed.

"I want to be with you", he said, "Even though you will be gone tomorrow….I want to be with you."

"But what if I don't come back?" I asked.

"Then I will have to wait on you", he said.

"How old are you?" I asked.

"29", he replied.

"Yeah, I'm 25", I said, "Big age gap."

"So", he said, "You don't want to be with me?"

"What if I get married?" I asked.

"Then I would be happy for you", he smiled.

He came to me and hugged me.

"You will have great adventures", he said, "if you stay here."

I smiled and hugged him back. He reminded me of Oz.

"I hope Oz would treat you right back in your world", he said.

I nodded.

"Don't worry, I have my ways in him listening to me", I said.

Jack smiled and held out a hand.

"May I have this last dance?" he asked.

I nodded. I took his hand and he brought me closer to him. The music was really faint and we danced slowly. I looked at him and blushed. After that we went back inside. We partied till night. I was getting sleepy and it was my time to leave. I walked to Jack's room and opened it slowly.

"Jack", I called out.

Jack came from behind and slowly pushed me in his room. He closed the door and leaned against it.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

He hugged me tightly.

"This is it", he said.

I nodded. I felt like I had to do something. I looked at him. He looked at me. I quickly gave him a kiss. He widened his eyes and blushed. He looked away.

"There", I said, "Now no one can be your first", I said.

Jack smiled and hugged me tightly.

"Good luck", he said softly.

I smiled. My eyes began to close. I was in his warm embrace. I felt sad leaving him. Yet, it was an adventure that I had always longed for. When I woke up, it was morning. I got up slowly and looked around. The house was quiet. How long was I asleep? I got out of bed slowly. I went to Oz's room. He wasn't there. I looked around his room. There were pictures that he drew. I walked over to a box. I opened it and there were many paper and other junk in it. I took out a piece of paper. It was a drawing of a tree. I put it back and looked around some more. I rubbed my necklace slowly and waited on Oz.

Oz's POV:

It's been 3 days where Alice has been asleep. I was starting to get worried. I looked around the store to find some headache pills. I was getting headaches these days. I was always looking after Alice all day. I walked home from the store. When I got to the restaurant, I saw Alice. I blinked. Was Alice awake? I rushed inside the restaurant.

"Oz", said Alice smiling, "Welcome home."

I had a big smile. I walked to her quickly. I ignored all the people who were staring at us. I attacked her in a hug. I hugged her tightly. Alice hugged me back. I pulled back and kissed her lips. They were warm and soft. Alice struggled to escape, then she accepted it. I broke away from the kiss and smiled. The people around us was clapping. Alice's face was getting really red. She hit me gently.

"Why did you do that for?" she asked embarrassed.

I smiled. After we closed up the shop, I went to her room to ask her if she would marry me. I walked in her room and she was out the window, sitting on the roof. I smiled and joined her.

"Hey", I said.

"Hey", she replied.

"How are you feeling?' I asked.

"Alright", she said.

"I see", I said.

"You?" she asked.

"Never better", I said smiling.

It grew quiet. I reached into my pocket to get out the ring. I took it out and placed it on her hand.

"I will give all my life to you if you give me yours", I said softly.

Alice's eyes widened.

"Even though we've never dated, or been in a relationship", I said, "I love you and I want to live with you the rest of my life, taking care of you and our kids. Alice Bakersville, will you-"

"Wait!" she exclaimed.

"What?" I asked.

"Youre asking me like this?" she asked.

"Yes?" I said confused.

"I wanted it to be a more special thing!" she complained.

I smiled. I took her hand and got on one knee.

"Will you marry me?" I asked.

She looked at me.

"Do you know what my answer is?' she asked.

"I hope it's a yes", I said.

She gave me a mischievous smile.

"So I can say no?" she asked jokingly.

"Please answer", I said.

She grinned.

"I give all my life to you", she said, "I hope you will protect me as time passes for our family."

I smiled and slipped the ring on her finger. She smiled and hugged me tightly.

"Now you are mine", I said, "So you can't be anyones."

She nodded. We looked at the night sky together. It was a great night and a great day.

5 months later….

"Oz", called out Alice.

I looked at her in the white dress. She looked beautiful while walking down the aisle. She was smiling and happy. When we exchanged vows and rings I looked in her eyes. She was finally becoming my wife. After all the long months, she was finally mine. I kissed her softly and everyone screamed with happiness. It was time for the party and we danced all night. Now it was the bride and groom dance. We were going to do the tango. Everyone watched with awe as we danced on the floor.

"Ready for an adventure my wife?" I whispered softly.

"Always", she said.

We ended with a kiss. As I look back into the past it was a great experience for me. It was a very happy ending. I knew I had to wait and even though it takes time for love to grow stronger, I was rewarded in the end. Lucky huh?
