Things seemed to be back to normal, well at least somewhat back to normal. Damon had become very protective since the night he walked in on Alaric and Jade. It seemed even if Jade took a little longer then normal to pack and leave class in the morning, if she even had a chance to be alone with her professor Damon would just appear out of thin air.
This made things very difficult for Jade and Alaric as both of them could not stop thinking about their almost kiss in her dorm so many nights ago. Jade kept trying to tell herself that there was no way he was going to kiss her, that there was no way he would like her in that way.
Alaric however was beating himself up just a little bit more. Trying to tell himself, that he was to old for her, but he knew that was kind of a joke. Really she just looked to young to be with someone like him. Then there was always the big kicker. He was a vampire, and there was always a possibility he could hurt her. She was like a drug to him, for some reason, probably due to the magic she possessed, he wanted nothing more then to have another taste. For her safety however he worked on his control, he knew that one day that temptation would be too much and on that day he would need to be ready.
But also that temptation was not only her blood, but her herself. The feel of her skin, the smell of her hair. Everything about her made his extremely heightened senses scream out.
Damon, if it was not for Damon he would have kissed her that night. He never told his best friends these feeling he felt for the girl he called a sister, because if he did, he knew Damon would surely kill him. Damon had not said anything, but Alaric knew every time when there was a chance that he could be alone with Jade, Damon came crashing in. Stomping on any thought that Alaric might be able to shove her against his classroom door and have his way with her.
It was all for the best though, or at least that is what he would keep telling himself. Jade was friends with everyone, including Elena who Alaric himself saw almost as his own kin. But then again Damon was dating her. Damon his best friend.
Alaric shook his head clear as the bell sounded for the end of class. "Remember mid terms are tomorrow!" He yelled as everyone filed out of the room. He looked to where Jade stood packing her stuff away slowly, telling Elena and Liz that she would see them later tonight for studying.
Jade who had been pretending to study all class like she was suppose to be doing had in fact been chancing glances at her professor. She just could not help herself. Now here she stood in a vain attempt to have a few moments alone with him, but knowing that in a few seconds Damon would arrive, pull her from the class room, pretending to be interested in hearing if there was anything "new" and "exciting".
Slowly throwing her bag over her shoulder she started for the door, and began to think maybe, maybe today would be her day. Then however Damon came sauntering into the room, a smug look on his face. "Hey Ric!" He spoke happily approaching Jade and throwing an arm over her shoulder.
"Hey Damon." Alaric spoke watching as Damon and Jade exited the classroom.
Jade once out of the classroom detached herself from Damon. "Sorry Damon, I will not be able to hang today. I have no more classes for the day, and with midterms tomorrow..."
"You wanna go study. Okay, fine, but once all this being an adult stuff is done, you and I are going to go have some fun. I will show you what it is like to be alive again." Damon said this as he opened his arms in a sign that he was offering her the world, Jade however just giggled.
"I will call you tomorrow. I am sure everyone will want to go out and celebrate anyways. That seems to be that thing to do when your in college." Jade then gave Damon a hug goodbye and headed off to her dorm to grab what books she wanted to go through again before tomorrow.
As she was on her way to the library her phone vibrated in her pocket. Stopping and maneuvering her books around so she could attempt to reach into her pocket, then everything went wrong. Her pile of books slipped from her grasp and thudded to the floor. Jade let out an angry sigh and bent down to pick everything up, when a hand came into view helping her pick up her items.
Looking up she found Professor Saltzman, picking up her books and smiling at her. Once the books had been collected the two stood and then Jade quickly looked around the hall. Looking back at Alaric he gave her a questioning look.
"Whatcha looking for?" Jade just giggle lightly.
"I was looking to see where Damon was going to pop out of." Alaric gave a small laugh then looked at the books in his hands.
"Hey, would you like to go have some brunch?" Alaric questioned excited at the fact of being able to spend some time with Jade.
"I, I would love that." Then Jade looked down at all of her books. "Umm..." Turning she made to look down the vast hallway. She was so far from her dorm to take all her books back.
"My office is just down the hall, you can leave your stuff there till we come back." Jade nodded and the two of them headed down the hall. Once in Alaric's office they placed Jade's books down on one of the chairs at his desk.
"So where would you like to go?" Jade questioned turning to look at Alaric.
"There is a nice little coffee shop on campus." Alaric began rubbing the back of his neck, trying to stop himself from staring at the skin that was showing from where her shirt had risen up. Jade saw Alaric averting his gaze from her and noticed that she had become a little disheveled from when she dropped her books. Straightening out her shirt she approached Alaric.
"Are you feeling okay?" Jade spoke reaching up and placing a hand to his bicep.
"Just a little hungry, nothing to worry about though." Alaric smiled down at Jade. Jade immediately pulled her hand away and pushed up the sleeve of her shirt, holding up her wrist to him. "Jade, no. Damon gave me very strict orders to not feed from you, and with the thought of living forever, forever is a very long time to be mad at someone." Jade frowned and then took Alaric's hand in hers, then led him over to the small love seat in the corner of the room.
Jade sat Alaric down, then proceeded to sit next to him, pulling her legs under herself and turning to look at him. "Professor Saltzman, what kind of friend would I be if I let you eat the townsfolk."
"Please don't call me that. Makes me feel so old." Alaric laughed. Jade blushed a little then proceeded to hold up her wrist again.
"Jade no." Alaric sighed, but she only moved her wrist closer to his mouth. Slowly, Alaric reached for Jade's arm and took it in his grasp. Bringing it to his lips he placed a light kiss on her skin then moved her wrist back down towards his lap. He did not however let go.
"Alaric, you need to eat..." Jade began but then suddenly found herself sitting across Alaric's lap. Straddling him Jade felt herself turning bright red.
"Jade." Alaric whispered, bringing his face forward to hers, and bringing up a hand to run it through her hair. Jade shuddered as her name left his lips. It sounded so nice.
Slowly, and with her heart beating like mad, she leaned forward. Brushing her lips across Alaric's. She had imagined what this would be like. She never quite imagined it happening in his office, sitting on his lap.
Alaric then took matters into his own hand. Taking her brief touch as a sign that she wanted this too, he lunged forward and captured her lips in his. After a few moments they both pulled away and Jade gasped for breath.
"Not bad." Alaric smirked. "For someone who has been locked alone in their own little world for a number of years."
Jade chuckled. "I may have practiced on a bear." Alaric pulled back and frowned. "I am joking." Jade spoke leaning in and giving Alaric a slowly kiss on the lips.
Alaric kissed her back then proceeded to move his kisses along her cheek and down her throat. Jade moaned and tipped her head to the side as Alaric plastered her neck with kisses. "Alaric." Jade whispered. Alaric pulled away just enough to look her in the eye, giving her a questioning look. Jade nodded her head and slowly closed her eyes. Tipping her head and moving her hair to the side she offered herself to him.
Leaning in, Alaric placed a small kiss to the side of Jade's neck, then he bit down, slowly and delicately. Drinking slowly Alaric pulled Jade closer to him, sliding his fingers into her hair, and wrapping his other arm around her waist.
Jade moaned, she could not help it. The feeling was like nothing she had ever felt before. Who ever thought having a vampire drink from her would feel like this, but the feeling could also be attributed to the fact that his body was pressed up against hers, and she could feel everything.
Alaric pulled away once he had had enough. Gently he released her from his iron like hold, but did not release his hand from her hair. He watched as Jade slowly opened her eyes and smiled at him.
