Remy after signing them out at reception had received a call and for the past fifteen minutes been on his cell, he was now standing in a corner further away from her, his expression annoyed and frustrated, perhaps realizing he was being watched he turned away looking out instead. Rogue waited on one of the sofas, staring at the floor again lost in her thoughts. The room was spacious with seating arrangements scattered around. She sat near the window, the sun warming her skin.

A shadow blocked the light and a moment later somebody cleared their throat. She looked up to see Pietro standing in front of her, her eyes widened in disbelief not sure if what she saw was really happening. Yeah, she had made that call but she didn't think that warranted a reply in person, before she had a chance to say anything however, he spoke up awkwardly. "Hi Rogue, could I have a word?"

Rogue just stared at him, standing up slowly, what was going on?

At her silence, he went on and she realized he had expected worse after her call yesterday. "Listen I- I know I don't have any right, but please just hear me out."

Rogue finally found her voice. "Pietro...what? We have nothing left to say to each other, I don't want to talk to you."

"I made a mistake! You showed up suddenly and I panicked, I didn't know what to do Marie. You know how my father is- it wasn't supposed to happen like that-"

"Ya must be joking to think ya can come like this! I was scared too Pietro but ah thought ah had you!"

"Rogue just give me a chance to show you how sorry I am. I've regretted what happened for a long time."

"It's been five months! Ya can't abandon me halfway and decide to pick me up when it's convenient for ya. It must be so easy for ya"

"No Rogue it's not, I've suffered all these months too. I tried to get over you, to convince myself that it was over but I can't get you out of my mind."

"It's too late..."

"We'll go to your family Rogue. Do everything the way you want it, we'll do it right this time."

"Ah don't know..."

"I love you Rogue, I've never stopped, and I was just trying to convince myself. Please, just give me another chance to fix everything."

"Ah- Ah need to think...it's too sudden."

Rogue didn't even know what more to say, everything she had been hoping for months was suddenly becoming true before her eyes but it was too late now, wasn't it? She walked away and stumbled into Remy almost immediately, he must have heard the commotion and made his way over from his expression she could tell he heard enough to know what must be going through her head but she just shook her head at him. She did not want to speak about this with Pietro standing a few feet away but she indicated her head towards the double glass doors leading to the gardens. She needed fresh air but Remy was welcome to join her. He acknowledged her invitation with a nod but did not follow her immediately out the doors.

When he came out five minutes later he found Rogue sitting on a bench next to an elderly yew tree. She looked exceptionally pretty in the yellow cotton summer dress she dressed up in to meet her family in. She must have seen him approaching her as she started talking angrily as soon as he was within hearing distance. "Why did he have to come back now? Now that things were finally..." she trailed off not bothering to finish her own thought.

Remy didn't reply, he just come back from having a quick conversation with Pietro letting him know that if Rogue asked him to leave it would be in his best interest to do so immediately and in any case he knew he be completely biased in anything more he said.

"It's too late now, there's nothing more to be done." Rogue carried on speaking, almost as if thinking out loud. He sat next to her looking around at the garden rather than the girl next to him until her silence let him know that she was waiting for a reply from him, he could feel her stare.

Dieu, what did she want from him? His subconscious fought for the different truths to tell her and if asked he wouldn't be able to say what would come out of his mouth, not until it was said.

"You know I've always envied people who seemed really happy, not just happy in de moment but you know just happy with their life. S' because I've never been able t' do dat, no matter what I did with my life and I think t' myself how do dey do it? What do dey have dat I can't seem t' get no matter wat I do, and now, now I think m' finally able t' understand it because of you-" and here he paused for a imperceptible moment before continuing. "You were really happy with him, de real kind and I think dats worth fighting for if you still think you can get dat with him."

Rogue was quiet for a while absorbing what he said and finally she said a bit resentfully. "I thought you take my side."

Remy gave a shadow of a smile at that, looking into her bright green eyes, they seemed to sparkle and he hated himself a little as he replied. "I'll always take your side Cherie, and if your happiness is with him den, well, it's you who wins in de end."

Rogue didn't reply to that but she stared at him with an intensity that made him want to confess to her every thought he ever had and to know about all of hers. When she spoke now her voice quivered slightly. "You really love me, don't you?"

He didn't think as he said plainly. "Oui, but dats my problem."

He didn't have to hide, the world would have to be blind not to notice, Pietro from their one meeting had grasped the truth of it and even Rogue who was mostly oblivious couldn't deny the truth of his feelings any longer. He would try to get over her, it was only fair and didn't he deserve someone who not only loved him but was in love with him in return.

He didn't know what exactly Rogue had said to Pietro as she had gone off to speak with him privately after his conversation with her but he was coming with them to New York. Remy had kept his distance from Pietro, speaking only when necessary and thankfully Rogue seemed to be quite reserved towards him as well, he didn't think he could handle them acting like a couple just yet. He was more concerned with how to tell Rogue the news he received earlier but she had claimed a headache on the flight and he being not too keen to speak to her about that had gladly accepted her headache as an excuse.

He had anticipated the arrival of paparazzi at the airport and arranged for them to be discreetly taken to a waiting car as soon as they cleared security. Pietro looked around as he noticed they were being led through an unusually private part of the airport towards the exit but Rouge was too nervous to pay much attention, she kept throwing glances in Remy's direction but didn't say what was on her mind until they were all seated in the car. Remy was driving, the passenger seat occupied by Pietro while Rogue sat in the back.

"How did they sound when you talked to them?" she asked hesitantly.

He suddenly understood what her increasing nervousness earlier had been about. "Fine, they're waiting for you. It'll be ok."

"If you say so." she said uncertainly.

"I do." he said sharply inviting no further contradiction from her. Pietro didn't join the conversation but was tense throughout the whole interaction.

The drive in the early afternoon didn't take very long and soon they were nearing the mansion, Rouge's fidgeting hadn't stopped once since she entered the neighbourhood but none of the passengers in the car spoke until they reached the gates at which point Rogue looked out in quite shock.

"What- What's goin on?" she asked looking wide eyed at the reporters surrounding the gates, who started snapping pictures of the car as soon as it came into sight.

Remy didn't reply asking instead. "Do you know de pass code?"

Before Rogue could open her mouth the gates had opened automatically for their car, closing behind almost immediately. A police cruiser stood parked as well and the two officers made sure the car wasn't followed. Rogue had turned around in the seat watching the crowd behind the gates.

"What do you think is goin on?" she asked again as she sat facing the front once more but Pietro shrugged in his ignorance of the situation and Remy didn't even glance at her, ignoring her question once more but before she could question the situation further she saw the number of people standing at the gates and a lump fell in her throat, It was suddenly difficult to speak again.

The car stopped and before she could brace herself the door was suddenly opened from outside as Kitty quickly embraced her. Rogue didn't understand the speed of it, one moment she was in the car the next standing by the door as kitty hugged her tightly, for once she didn't complain about being able to breathe or to give her space but held on just as tightly. Kitty finally let go examining her face carefully as if to make sure she was ok but before she had a chance to say anything Ms Munroe had come up to them examining Rogue for herself before embracing her. Rogue was conscious of Hank, Logan, Kurt and a dozen other people looking at them but she didn't meet their eyes instead she closed her eyes as Ororo hugged her. The familiar smell of herbs and flowers surrounding her, comforting her. Kitty still held on to her arm as if afraid she would disappear again if she let go.

The slamming of a car door broke them apart as Pietro closed the car door loudly all eyes fell on him but nobody said anything to him. Remy, Rogue noticed had gotten out much quieter and Hank had approached him meeting him at the car.

"You kept your promise then? I wasn't sure you would but I'm glad I gave you the chance."

Remy nodded as he replied simply. "I said I would."

Hank didn't say anything to that but held out his hand for him to shake, Remy did noticing that Hank at least didn't seem to be holding any grudge against him. Rogue meanwhile was being led by Ororo and Kitty towards the rest of her family who embraced her, she was surrounded by ten different voices all talking over each other asking after her health, how had she been? Was she ok? Nobody seeming to give her the time to answer anything.

Hank led Remy towards them a few people nodded at him but there was a silence as Logan approached. He was chewing a cigar and stood before him arms crossed as he observed him for a few moments, Remy had the feeling that Logan wanted him to squirm but he kept quite meeting Logan's eyes directly after a few moments Logan nodded and he could almost feel the people breathing around him easily.

Kitty came running up to him then, her face full of excitement and Remy knew what she was going to say before she opened her mouth. "Couldn't keep it a secret could you? You're kinda like my brother-in-law now, right? Rogue and I are practically sisters."

Remy didn't reply instead looking behind her towards Rogue who was still surrounded, she didn't look as if she heard anything but his attention was grabbed by Kitty again as she went on. "Oooo, can't take your eyes off her, just wait a sec." she said quickly before she went to Rogue's side again pulling her by the arm towards him.

Remy glanced towards Pietro who seemed to have been forgotten in the commotion caused by Rogue's arrival. He was staring at them looking just as confused by what was happening as Kitty bought Rogue along to stand next to him. "There! Are you happy now? Together and all that." Rogue looked completely baffled as Jubilee and a few other girls giggled. She exchanged a quick look with him as somebody said loudly. "Take a pic, we can send it to the paparazzi."

"You will do no such thing," admonished Ororo quietly,

Rogue started to speak as Ororo came forward to hug her again not giving her a chance to say more than her name, tears in her eyes as she embraced Remy as well. She could feel Pietro staring at her and somebody must have realized that there was a guest waiting for their attention. Kurt and Bobby approached him introducing themselves they spoke quickly barely giving Pietro a chance to say anything in return.

"You must be a friend of Remy's." aaid Kurt as he walked alongside him towards Rogue and Remy.

"Yeah, sorry about that we get distracted easily." was Bobby's explanation about the large amount of people still standing at the entrance, chatting loudly.

"Come on, no need to hang back. You must be tired and all that?"

Pietro just nodded, he was too busy staring at Rogue and Remy as Ororo told Remy that he was now a part of the family. Remy looked at Rogue and they seemed to be communicating through some silent look passed between them.

"What's with the looks then?"

"God, they can't keep their eyes off each other."

"It's so romantic!"

"Girls stop bothering them." Ororo said firmly though she had an amused smile on her face that bellied the sternness in her voice.

Logan's voice could be heard above the crowd now. "Stripes, the Professor want to see both of you in his office. Kurt show Lebeau's friend to the guest room."

People made their way through the double doors, Pietro following closely behind Rogue and Remy who kept an awkward distance between themselves as they were once again stopped by a redhead at the door who held out her arm banning them entry.

"Tut tut tut, this won't do." said the voice of Jean Grey as she held out an arm stopping further entry, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "I saw you two lovebirds holding hands on your way out its only fair you make your way back the same way."

Rogue could feel Pietro's stare and knew the quickest way out of this would be just to comply, she glanced at Remy again who simply took her hand in his as they walked through the doors. He let go almost immediately once they were inside.

Rogue turned to Ororo once again talking quietly amidst the chatter of their friends. "I have to talk to you about something."

Ororo looked at her kindly as she replied. "Just see the Professor, he's waiting for you. Then we'll talk."

Rogue reluctantly made her way towards the Professor's study taking the all too familiar corridor, Logan followed behind them giving neither of them a chance to communicate. Further behind them Pietro had finally managed to shake of Kurt and Bobby and now hurried to catch up to them.

The Professor study was a large room with sofa's arranged neatly on one side while a large desk occupied the other end. Bookshelves and paintings covered the walls. The room always gave her a sense of comfort and discipline. In her years as a student she had weekly therapy in here with the professor and even today it smelled of pine wood. The professor sat behind his desk and gestured them both towards the chairs facing him.

Rogue gave a tentative smile as she sat down after they had said their greetings. Logan stood by the door.

"You have been a guest in here before Mr Lebeau but now however unexpectedly you have become a part of our family. I'm sure you can see that we protect and care for those we love. As a guest you took advantage of our trust and hospitality, I am however completely sure that the idea to elope was our very own Rogue's" here he gave a significant look towards her and Rogue's cheeks went red and she was unable to meet the professor's eyes.

He didn't need a reply as he carried on. "Regardless of the circumstances that led us here today. Mistakes can be forgiven bearing in mind that they are not repeated. You both made a mistake in not contacting us but I'm sure you and I both would like to put that behind us." he fixed his gaze particularly on Remy as he went on. "In the future I would like you both to think better of a situation before acting on it." he finished his still gaze fixed on Remy who nodded once not breaking eye contact.

Whatever the Professor saw in his expression must have been enough to satisfy him as he smiled once more at both of them. "I feel I ought to give you fair warning Mr Lebeau you'll have your hands full keeping our Rogue out of trouble, she's always attracted it and she won't spare you either."

"Wouldn't want it any different I think."

Later...

"Just talk to them, it'll sort everything out." Remy said hurriedly as Rogue walked alongside him down the corridor, after dodging their entourage for the moment.

"Ah will, Ah just need the right moment" Rogue said, finally letting her stress show at the situation they found themselves in, if she wasn't worrying so much about it, she might have found the whole thing comical.

"Hey!" Peitro shouted behind them as he walked quickly up to them. "What about everything in the papers? What the hell is going on?"

"Everything will be sorted out." Remy said speaking to him before turning to Rogue once more. "Just speak to Ororo about it."

"Will you come with me?" she asked.

"What's this about you two running away together?" he interrupted once more.

Remy turned to him more than a little exasperated. "Actually-"

"You ran away from here together holding hands?" he demanded.

Rogue didn't bother with a reply, her annoyance clear in her expression.

"It was a misunderstanding-" Remy tried to explain before some of the students rounded the corner, mainly girls.

"Hey umm...Remy we were wondering if we could get a few pics for social media and all, nothing to sell or anything, just to put up on Facebook and Twitter" asked one coyly.

Remy gave a helpless look towards Rogue who luckily came to his rescue.

"Tabitha seriously? Back off." Rogue snapped.

"Oh, come'on Rogue, it's just a picture and then we'll be out of your hair." noticing Peitro she said, handing over the camera. "Hey, do you mind taking a group pic of us with the famous couple?"

Rogue and Remy stood together trying not to look too awkward as Tabitha, Jubliee, Amara along with a few other girls stood on either side as Pietro stood opposite holding the camera.

"We're ready." Tabitha snapped rudely, after a few short moments of Pietro staring.

It seemed to snap him out of it as he took a few pictures quickly.

The girls dispersed just as Hank and Ororo made their way towards them.

"Remy, might we have a quick word?" Hank asked in his gentle way.

"Uh, yeah, sure." Remy said as he followed the older man.

Ororo meanwhile had gently grabbed Rogue's hand as she led her in the opposite direction but just as quickly she seemed to remember Pietro's presence "Oh, honey why don't you freshen up? You must be tired after the journey? They showed you to a room didn't they?"

"Yeah, yes I mean I'm not tired, thanks." Pietro said politely.

"Well at least get something to eat." Ororo suggested, spotting someone walking behind him "Kurt! Show the young man to the cafeteria please, they must be starting dinner soon."

As Kurt approached she led Rogue away.

"We've put your things in your bedroom and Remy in one of the guest room. We haven't put a double in your room yet and I wanted you to sleep comfortably but if you want you two can move to one of guest rooms that has a double but well Kitty thought that you want to be in your room." Ororo explained as she led the way towards one of the common rooms on the first floor.

"No, it's fine, thank you."

"Don't be silly Rogue." Ororo admonished lightly.

Inside the common room mainly had some sofas and chairs scattered around, with a few bean bags here and there, as it was dinner time the place was deserted. Ororo closed the door behind them and sat on one of the sofas, patting the seat beside her.

"Listen, umm-" Rogue fumbled for words trying to find the words to explain somehow.

Ororo waited patiently a few moments but when Rogue said nothing more, she asked. "First, just tell me how are you, really? It's been four months." here she grabbed Rogue's face gently as if inspecting it for injuries.

Rogue gave a small, reassuring smile as she said. "Don't worry about me, I'm perfectly fine."

"Does Remy look after you well?" she asked searching her face for an answer.

Rogue stared in silence, thinking of all the different ways Remy had supported her, always.

"What?" Ororo asked at her silence. "Doesn't he treat you right? It's just we know so little about him and I don't know whether to believe what's in the papers-"

Rogue didn't look away as she replied vehemently, she wanted Ororo to have no doubts about this, as she tried to put her feelings into words. "He's there for me, always. Even when I didn't know that I needed him."

Ororo put her arms around her and Rogue hugged back just at fiercely.

Remy meanwhile had attention of a different sort as he sat in Hank's office, Logan was already in the room, looking at the grounds out the window.

"Remy I know you guys already married and I'm not here to interrogate you on your reasons for eloping but we as her family thought that perhaps we could have a small celebration." Hank started, quick to reassure him that he was not in any sort of trouble.

Dieu, he did not want to be the one to have to tell them anything. "Have you spoken to Rogue about dis?"

"I think Rogue would think it a splendid idea, a chance for her family to celebrate her marriage." Hank said confidently.

"But if you speak to Rogue-"

"Listen bub," Logan finally spoke. "The celebration is on its way but we reckoned you want some of your folks to be here as well."

Hank diplomatically spoke once more. "Perhaps you could invite them over this weekend? If we could get them here, we'll be ready to proceed pretty much."

Remy could think of no way to get out of this without revealing the truth and finally said hesitatingly. "I'll give dem a ring."

"Excellent." Hank said before speaking to Logan. "That should give us enough time to organize everything on our end."

Remy left Hank and Logan who had been joined by Ororo to sort out the details stating the somewhat truth of being tired. His mind more than anything needed time to process, to come up with a plan.

Fate had other ideas as when he reached his room he found Pietro leaning against the door outside, looking surly.

Remy opened his door and Pietro followed inside speaking before he even closed the door. "This is the limit! What the hell?"

"Listen it's just a misunderstanding." Remy tried, was already short of patience. "Rogue's going to speak to them."

"She should have said something straight away! Nonsense!" he went on angrily.

"Maybe you should wait until she's settled, they probably have a lot to catch up on."

Remy turned away in an attempt not to punch the guy who seemed to have forgotten he had no one to blame but himself for this situation.

Pietro didn't seem to realize Remy's anger as he continued to speak while Remy went through his suitcase taking out some clothes to change into.

"They're treating you as if your family! I should be the one they want to get to know, instead Kurt wants to show me around Bayville!" he took a deep breath before asking. "Where's Rogue? I want to speak with her."

Remy finally turned around at that as Pietro moved towards the door as if to find her now.

"Listen she's probably surrounded by her family right now." Remy tried to reason.

"So what? I'll just ask to speak to her privately."

"You should let her handle it, it's her family and she would know the best way to explain this. It's important for her to explain this the right way or she has everything to lose."

Pietro seemed to have calmed somewhat as though Remy's words finally got through before he burst out with. "I don't want to see Bayville! These idiots want to show me their town, I don't want to see anything! What's so great about this place!"

"Don't see the town." Remy said tonelessly "Just say no, let Rogue deal with it."

He opened his bedroom door indicating that he was done talking to him for now. Pietro went outside to a room two doors down banging the door shut behind him.

Rogue sat on her bed, Kitty in the room with her as she fixed things around the room, helping Rogue unpack unnecessarily.

Rogue hadn't said much but Kitty didn't let it deter her as she began conversationally. "He is good looking."

Rogue didn't say anything so she tried one more. "Rogue if you need to tell me anything, anything at all, you know you can trust me right?"

"I know ah can." Rogue said trying not to cry. "And ahm sorry about everything I-"

"Rogue no, it doesn't matter anymore. You're here now and you're okay and I know that you know that if you do anything like that again I will personally kill you." Kitty said stopping her fiddling and sitting beside her.

Rogue grabbed Kitty's hand and squeezed it in gratitude.

She tried one more to explain. "It's just-what you think-what I'm trying to say is...everything is fine but-" Rogue couldn't finish the sentence. "But I'm just very tired, I think I need to rest for a bit."

Kitty perhaps could tell Rogue had meant to say something else but she as always gave a small smile as she said. "Sure, I'll let you get some rest, you've had a long day."

"Thanks Kit." Rogue said, laying her head down on the pillow.

The door closed behind her and Rogue finally closed her eyes, her mind restless and troubled.

The next day Rogue spent time with her family, avoiding Pietro and Remy both. Jean had happily announced her recent engagement with Scoot giving Rogue the excuse to spend the day with her to celebrate. She had a chance to finally read the stories the gossip magazines had printed on Remy and her apparent romance. They varied from being a whirlwind romance to her being a rebound mistake after the marriage of his ex, the only thing they seemed to have in common was that after a brief time together they had decided to get married accounting for Remy's disappearance from his usual circles and the recent changes since. Rogue chuckled as she read one witness claiming he had recognized Remy in a wedding chapel with her.

A knock sounded on her door and Rogue got up to answer it. It was Remy standing on the other side.

"You've been avoiding me." he said simply.

"Ah'm sorry." she replied.

He nodded accepting it. "Is it done?"

"No, I don't even know why. Ah had so many opportunities but I just couldn't with Ororo, Kitty even Logan."

Remy just listened as she continued to explain. "It just felt wrong, the whole time I felt sick and the words just wouldn't form." she finished finally letting her distress show. "Ah guess ah was scared."

Remy grabbed her gently moving her nearer to the light in the corridor. "What's that?" he asked pointing at her face.

"What?" Rogue said, momentarily distracted as she felt her face wondering what was wrong.

"There" he said pointing to the frown on her forehead. "That expression on your face, it doesn't suit you at all."

Rogue stared at him as he explained.

"That frown you get when you're worried it just look terrible, figured someone should tell you so you get that other expression on."

Rogue made a silly face as she played along. "This one?"

"Oui, dats the one, much better, you should avoid de other one as much as you can." he said earnestly.

"Well how can I not follow your sage advice."

He nodded seriously as he said. "You have t' be stupid to ignore it."

"Yeah, oh wise one, got any more words of wisdom for me?"

"Avoiding the problem won't make it go away. It'll tell him to meet you tomorrow morning by the Gazebo so you can decide what to say together."

Rogue nodded just as Kurt and Kitty came round the corner. Kurt hauling Junk food while Kitty had a few DVDs in her hand.

The both greeted Remy before Kitty said to Rogue. "Sorry to interrupt, I know you lovebirds wanna be all romantic but we'll kidnap you if we have to Rogue."

Kurt added to Remy. "It's only fair man, she's been with you for months. We have to uphold the tradition of watching bad movies together so that we can appropriately mock them."

"Are ya serious?" Rogue asked.

"You can join us if you like Remy?" Kitty said politely to him, ignoring Rogue's question as if it was ridiculous thing to ask.

"Nah I'll let you guys catch up. Rogue tomorrow morning at 7, don't forget." he said meaningfully before walking away.

He didn't turn around though he could feel her staring, he had to be the one to walk away.

It was 5 to 7 in the morning as Rogue made her way towards the Gazebo, She could see two figures sitting on the steps and as she approached nearer Remy got up meeting her in the way.

"Hi."

"Hey."

"Why are you up early?" she asked.

"Think I might leave soon."

"You're leaving?"

"Have to."

"Everyone will want you to stay."

"I won't stay this time Rouge," he looked at her face intently before saying. "He's waiting for you."

Rogue watched him walk back towards the mansion, probably to grab his things before leaving. A voice behind her called her name and she turned back towards Pietro once more.

Every few steps she had to stop herself from glancing behind her and only when she reached the gazebo did she allow herself to turn around to look back one more. He had almost disappeared from view behind some foliage in one of the paths leading back to the mansion.

Pietro stood up as she was finally in front of him. "Ok, Rogue, no worries. You haven't said anything yet, it's fine. We'll tell them now, I'll tell you how. We'll grab someone, whoever we run into first, Hank, Ororo, Kitty and you'll say yes I want a celebration but of my upcoming wedding to Pietro, everything else is the same, they should be just as happy as before. They just need to take Remy out and replace him with Pietro. When you say this, they'll have million better questions for you, what? When? How? And you can finally explain it all, how we met when my friend was..."

Pietro stood there but his voice had almost turned into background music on a much clearer video.

She could hear the sound a train made as it left the station and Remy grabbing her hand as he ran with her from her home, not for any gain of his own but to get her to her destination, him on his bike in Washington when she thought that might be the last time she see him, how he had waited to make sure she was inside before leaving, his expression as she said goodbye, the tenderness with which he always looked at her.

Pietro's mouth was opening and closing but no sound seemed to get through to her. Only Remy and how angry he been with her when he found her, how they almost kissed and he brushed it away like it was nothing because that's what she needed. How nice it felt for a few moments when she almost forgot and just allowed herself to feel. His touch whether in anger, care or frustration had always been so careful of her.

An unknown fear, then restlessness as if something wrong is happening. That feeling you get when you realize you're missing your opportunity. That the train is leaving the station and you're going to be left behind.

Rogue seemed to unfreeze only one thought prevailing her mind and without another word she turned around running back towards the path she just came from, the path Remy had taken back.

"Rogue wait!" Pietro shouted but she only ran faster wishing with everything in her that it wasn't too late. How long had it been since he left?

"Rogue wait! We'll speak to them together!" he shouted finally following behind her.

Rogue turned the corner and finally stopped looking around trying to decide which way he might have gone as several garden paths branched off from here before taking the one that was the quickest to the mansion. She took no notice off Pietro behind her as he shouted at her to stop once more.

Finally when the mansion's door were within sight she spotted him, outside still, with Jamie who seemed to be showing him some card trick. She ran faster, finally in front of them both breathing heavily.

Remy who was stooping to Jamie's level stood up, looking at her in surprise.

"What is it? Rogue?" he asked concerned as she continued to catch her breath, staring at him in desperation.

She didn't say anything to him but snapped at Jamie instead. "You're here? Miss Munroe been looking for you."

"Oh man, what did I do now?" Jamie grumbled as he went inside to find out.

As soon as Jamie had turned away. Rogue put her hands on his shoulder. Remy looked at her in concern as she spoke not sure where this was going, "Is he coming?"

"Who?" He asked unable to look away from her. There was something wild about the way she looked at him.

"Pietro, is he coming?"

His name seemed to do the trick and Remy looked behind her seeing the other man approaching. "Oui."

"Is he lookin this way?"

"Oui he is-" Remy said when suddenly Rogue grabbed him tightly putting her arms around him. He felt too stunned to move as she held on with such a strong grip.

Finally she broke the hug, looking at him as she spoke, still holding on tightly. "I'll always be in your debt for one thing, just one." she said fiercely. "That you bought Pietro back into mah life or I might never have understood what I wanted. Now ah can listen to mah heart Remy." she caressed his face gently with her hand while the other gripped his arm. "Everything will be all right now."

Remy couldn't look away from her face but Rogue leaned in kissing him so gently, Remy had just closed his eyes when she broke it quickly, giving a sweet smile. He couldn't help himself, he grabbed her face between his palms and leaned in, the small distance between their lips too much for him as he kissed her fiercely trying to show how much he fallen in love with her through that one kiss. To think that he lost her and then to find her running for once for him, that he was her destination now.

When they finally broke apart, he knew he was grinning like an idiot but he couldn't find it in himself to care and for a moment they just stood there laughing.

"What are we going to do?"

"Well I think I should call my family and invite them t' our wedding celebration."

"Yeah?"

"Oui."

"Ah'm not moving to New Orleans."

"Don't care, I'll handle de business up north."

"Ah love you."

"Merde, I wanted t' say it first."

"Well, ah'm not taking it back."

"It's ok I like it when a femma takes de lead,"

"Where do you think Pietro went?"
