Traflgar Law.

Traflgar Law.

She reached out for the tree behind her as she felt bile rising in her throat. Even as she felt sick, Reika continued to stare at the man who just proclaimed that he was her childhood friend.

Reika was sure her knees were going to give out. It had to be a lie. He couldn't be alive. The day she and her brother got off the island, she swore no else made it...

Everyone was killed...

Reika leaned against the tree as vomited up the her lunch.

"I guess this might be difficult, seeing that you're showing signs of having a panic attack, but I am Law," he a spoke to her.

Reika 's hand gripped the bark of the tree as she wished she could have something to rid her mouth of the taste of stomach acid and food.

"You say that you're Law. Well, prove it." She turned her head slightly towards him, her voice full of anger.

It had taken her so long to accept what had happened back on the island that she refused to sit there and let him think she was going to be won over so easily.

Law glowered down at her hunched form.

"'Prove' you say? You make it seem like you don't believe me."

"I don't. What happened on that island was so painful, it's hard to believe that anything with good memories still attached could still exist afterwards."

Law snickered, but he did not disagree with her. Before he could speak, Reika continued, standing right in front of him and staring him down.

"I remember Law having amber lead. He would have been killed by that disease by age 16."

This caused Law to chuckle. "You're correct, I should have died. But I did something to keep myself alive, but that's not important right now.

Reika held onto her stomach while her other hand clenched into a fist. "Not important?" She wanted to believe what he said was true, but she was too terrified to open herself up to that possibility just yet. The thought that he was here after all these years was too good to be true.

"How did you get off the island? ...If you're Law," she added after a moment, still not wanting to admit it was him.

Law sat on the ground, his feet bent with his elbows resting on his knees, clasping his hands together.

"Simple: I hid myself in the dead bodies that were being shipped to the other islands." He glanced up at Reika, who sat hesitantly next to him.

"I'm sorry..." Reika's head was bowed slightly, like she found the grass more interesting to look at.

"I thought you didn't believe I was Law."

"I don't, but hearing something like that...it must have been hard."

Both of them sat silently for a while, listening to the wind blow through the leaves, the town down below making faint noises. It was to quiet for Reika. She felt like she was going to hear her own heartbeat soon.

She turned her head to say something to "Law", but he spoke up first.

"It's hard...knowing I don't have the courage to go into that hospital and see my childhood friend...to go see Lelouch..."

Reika lifted her head away from the grass and stared at the man who proclaimed to be Law. "How do you know of my brother?"

"Because I'm Law."

Reika turned her head back towards the grass, once again finding it more interesting than the attractive man she was sitting next to.

"Tell me, Ms. Coil, how did you get off the island?"

"Reika closed her eyes again just for a small moment before plucking up a small piece of grass. "You're making memories resurface that I really don't want to remember." The memories were clawing their way to the surface with ghostly fingers, the same fingers that made her have the same nightmares over and over again. "But...you told me yours, so, if you really are Law..." She plucked another piece of grass from the ground as she started to tell Law the source of those nightmares.

"Lelouch, hold on!" Young Reika pulled her brother out of the bed. She expect him to be so heavy, and his body smacked the ground. "I'm sorry." She hooked her arms under his started to drag him out of the room and down the long hallways of the burning hospital. "I'm sorry, just hand on." Her voice started to grow raspy from the smoke in the air, but the little girl continued to carry her brother the best she could. "All we have to do is find a ship or a boat...We'll be okay."

Reika fell silent as she twieled the piece of grass between her fingers. "It wasn't easy watching as everyone you knew was being slaughtered."

Her scarped and bloody knees fell to the ground more times than she could count. She managed to lift the boy onto her back, refusing to leave him behind, even though he was likely to die soon anyway. "Almost to the docks," she panted out, stumbling and gripping the ground. Reka pushed herself up with what little strength she had left and began to move on. She tried her best to ignore the dead body as she passed by. It was the body of the cook who owned the bakery that had all the foods she liked to look at in the window.

"And that's it. I found a small boat to let Lelouch lay down in and I paddled until I drifted onto this island."

Law glanced at her, looking like he was in deep thought. "There's more to the story than 'I made it to this island,' isn't there?"

Reika glared at Law a little. "It's hard enough to relive it ever night, but now you're making me retell it." She stood her ground and continued to glare. "And I still don't believe you're Law. Where's your proof?"

Law rested his head on his hands and grinned. "You were weird about flowers. They made you happy and relaxed, especially when Lelouch decided not to show up some nights. Should I keep going?"

Reika nodded her head, feeling dazed.

"You told me once that you make up for Lelouch by being kind and nice."

Reika turned her head to Law and finally took a good look at him. He looked so different to her, and for the first time she really took in his appearance. There was stubble on his chin. He was so skinny, but his muscles were toned. He had much more of a tan now than when he was younger. Then again, Law also didn't have such an assortment of tattoos on him when he was younger. He was different from when he was a child. He had become a very good looking man in her opinion, and she realized that she was considering that this really was Law.

Reika threw herself at him, colliding with his chest and holding tightly onto his hoodie. She felt like she was drowning in emotions. She couldn't tell if she was happy or if she was about to cry.

Law's arms snaked around her lower back, this time a little more awkward than the first time he hugged her. Reika clitched tighter, pulling him closer, trying to get him as close to her as possible. She was suddenly struck by the fear that she might lose him again.

"L-Law," she whined slightly as tears ran down her cheeks. "I have so many questions and don't know where to start."
