A.N. Guys! I'm so sorry, a lot of things have happened. But, good news! I don't lived at work anymore and college classes have,,, uhh well lets not talk about that but the point is I will have ample time for writing.. yay! So enough of my note, on with the story! (haha)
Kay continued walking through town, feeling quite proud of herself that she had the courage to stand up to a man that just a few moments ago was in control of her. She shivered as she thought back, all the awful things she said to her new friends, if they were even her friends anymore. I wouldn't blame them if they didn't want anything to do with me anymore. Kay thought to herself with a sigh. Shaking her head in attempts of getting those thoughts out of her head. Looking around of where she left her guild mates, she found no one.
"Great, now where'd they go now, I still have to figure out how to give back their energy, I doubt they want to go without it" Kay chuckled at the last statement. She took a quick glance around to see where they might have gone, but found something better. Bright blonde hair shone stood out from the darkening surroundings and Kay immediately knew who it was.
"Lucy! Where did you guys go?!" Kay yelled getting her attention from across the quieting streets. "Hey, well it's kinda a long story to explain it," Lucy mumbled, "it'd be better if you just follow me, we had to get out of the way because some weird things were starting to happen." Kay looked puzzled but followed Lucy into a nearby vacant field where she saw Natsu, Gray, and Wendy all laying on the ground panting.
"Is it over yet," Natsu moaned, " please tell me it's over." Wendy just sighed in response. "I don't see why you're all out of breath, you weren't the one dodging out of the way!" Gray chimed in. Erza and Lucy seemed to be the only two left standing as Kay watched the trio argue she couldn't help but laugh a little at the whole situation. Erza turned to the noise and a small grin came to her face.
"I'm glad everything came out alright. You missed quite a scene here." She stated as she turned back to the three laying on the ground. Hearing Erza, talking to someone made the three look in the direction and smiles instantly came to all of their faces. "Kay! You're back!" Wendy shouted excitedly as she ran over to her. " I told you I'd be right back" Kay giggled in response. She stood back up from the hug only to be getting by the stares of Gray and Natsu.
"What did I do now?!" Kay worried stated trying to think of what she could have done in her own absence. Wendy chimed back in with the answer, "they didn't know what was going on at first because they just started using magic, but then they remembered that you still had some of their magical energy."
"Speaking of which, we still need to figure out how to get it back." Erza thinking out loud more than stating the obvious. "Hey! I think I know how to do that!" Kay exclaimed, "I think, it's something Jewel taught me as a sort of last resort healing magic, but I think it will work with this too." This got the attention of the group. With all eyes on her, they seemed to want more than just that. Nervously Kay continued, not liking being in the spotlight. "She taught me how to transfer a little of my magic energy into someone, but only until they regained theirs. As you know magical energy is sorta tied in with the very being of wizards, so if they lose most of theirs I can help by giving them some of mine. But in this case I would just be giving you your own back." Kay took a breath in hoping that would answer all the eyes that were on her. It seemed like they were satisfied.
"How would you do it?" Lucy being quite until now, asked the most obvious question that was on everyone's' minds. Kay thought a moment before answering, "the simplest way I can put it is if I concentrate on the persons magical energy, then hopefully I can transfer it back."
"What's with the hopefully?" Natsu questioned. "Well I've never did it before, and let alone to three people, Jewel said it was only in emergencies and to only one person. I know the spell, I know the technique, its just I've never done it." Kay answered and laughed nervously as the faces around her gawked. "It's a big risk." Erza again more thinking out loud exclaimed.
"It's one I have to take," Kay responded to Erza bringing her out of thinking, "I can't let just go to a field every time I fight, it puts everyone in danger and it's my fault." Lucy started to speak up but was cut off by Natsu, "Would you stop thinking like that! No one thinks that besides you!"
"I don't care it's what I think! And I'm gonna fix it!" Kay yells back at Natsu frustrated that he couldn't see she just wants to make it right. "And you're probably gonna hurt yourself in the process!" Natsu continuing the argument. "I'll heal! I don't need you looking out for me!" Kay retorted angerly. "Funny, thought I saved you not to long ago because you couldn't do anything!" Natsu regretted the words that came out of his mouth as soon as he said them. Kay was taken aback by the harshness. Tears welled up in her eyes as she started to turn and walk away. Only to run head first into Gray, "Well that was mean of him." He tried to get something out of Kay besides crying. "Just get out of my way." She mumbled. "Well I would, but Erza told me to keep you here as long as I could, if you want you can take it up with her, but she's busy with Natsu right now. She doesn't take it very well when someone makes one of the team cry, even if its one of our own." Kay was dumbfounded she peeked back around her, and found Natsu in the middle of a very angry Erza, Lucy and Wendy. Kay laughed as she wiped the tears from her eyes. "You guys are something, I cant quit4e put my finger on it but, something." Gray smiled, "Glad to see you're in a better mood."
"Yea a little, I could start with you, the magical energy. If you want?" Kay asked looking up at Gray, in which he nodded in agreement. Kay a minute to calm herself and her nerve put a hand on Gray's chest as she closed her eyes and focused. She tuned out the sounds of Ezra and the others yelling at Natsu, and he trying to see what was going on while dodging hits from the ladies. She had to focus on the man in front of her and his magical energy. Inside the darkness of her mind, she felt a crisp wind brush past her and she knew she had what it felt like. Now all there was to was to get the same feeling in her, she didn't tell them but she had to give all three of them a little part of her magical energy for it to work. Granted it would become theirs but in order to get it out of her, it had to be hers. She focused more not worrying about little stuff. She then felt chills run across her body as bumps started to raise. She held on to it and strained her muscles, coaxing it out of her body and back into Gorey's. As she felt the coolness disappear she stopped, opened her eyes to see the result. Gray had a smirk on her face, " I knew you could do it." Kay chuckled in response, heat rose in her as she turned around, she found out why.
"Gray! YOU LET HER DO IT!? IMA KNOCK YOUR HEAD BACK INTO A GLACIER!" Natsu was completely engulfed in flames. Makes sense, Kay thought to herself, I still have his magical energy in me so I can feel when he's using a lot of magic.
Kay shook her head, "I'm fine, see?" She held her arms straight out as if to show that she was fine. "Then why are you panting so hard?" Natsu returned as he got closer, with ever watchful eyes of Ezra, Lucy and Wendy. Kay focused on breathing normal, she'd never admit it, but it was tiring just doing one, and she still had two more to do. "Do you want to go next?" Kay offered Natsu. To answer her, he crossed his arms and shook his head. "No way."
"Fine, I'll do Wendy's next." In response, Wendy excitedly galloped towards Kay. "What do I need to do?" She asked. "Not a thing,"Kay smiled, "Just focus on your energy." Wendy nodded. Again Kay closed her eyes and focused on the girl in front of her. Kay couldn't quite get a feel for hers, being as there was air all around her. She shut her eyes tight and tried to concentrate harder, just then a playful wind swept across her cheek and whipped her hair back. Kay knew she found it. Now the thing was to find it in her. She dug deep trying to find anything that might even come close. She was about to give up just as she thought that she felt it, the freedom of childhood and the freedom of the sky. It was a bit harder to hold on to, as it wanted to go everywhere, all at once. She coated it in her own magical energy and coaxed the very eager energy into Wendy. She opened her eyes and was panting harder then before. This is really taking it out of me. All I have to do now is Natsu's and I'll be done. Kay put a smile on her face and tried to regain normal breath.
Natsu was by the lone tree that stood in the clearing. Kay walked over and tried to get him to look at her, only every time she came in direct eyesight of his face he would turn. "Oh, come on! Are you pouting?" Kay jested. "You're the only one left I have to do, then we can go get some food and some sleep." Looking straight at Natsu, Kay sighed, "Come on I'm starving." Kay said jokingly. Natsu finally looked at her. "Fine. But if you start to feel anything weird or start to feel bad, I want you to stop."
"YOU LOOOOOOOVVVEE HERRR!" Lucy imitating Happy Stated. "Tsh." Both Kay and Natsu responded in union. "Speaking of, where is happy? Or Joy and Carla for that matter?" Ezra questioned as she surveyed the area completely unaware of Lucy's accusation of the two. "Oh!," Wendy interjected, "Carla told me that they were going on a mission with Lily and the rest so they could welcome Joy into the guild." The group nodded in acknowledgment.
"Lets get this over with." Natsu sighed "Right."Kay nodded. She readied herself for the final time, already feeling out of breath. Closing her eyes Natsu's energy wasn't hard to find at all. It felt as though it was chasing to get to her attention. Kay let out a sigh of relief, it was going to be over soon. Kay twitched in surprise as she tried to wrap her own energy around his, it sent a intense burning sensation across her body, warming and tingling all parts of her. She fought through the awkwardness of the feeling and concentrated on moving the smallest amount of her energy possible. As she pushed it through her and into Natsu, her head began to feel dizzy and everything started to fade. She gripped Natsu's vest and fought for the last of his energy was out of her. She opened her eyes to a scowling yet surprised Natsu glaring at her from a close distance. "See I'm fine!" Kay exclaimed, only her words failed her when she tried to take a step. Her vision blurred, everything started spinning, and the ground grew closer to her face. She tried to fight it, to move or even put her arm out to catch herself. She let her eyes close the rest of the way and faded into unconsciousness
