A/N: Sorry for the log wait, but school's finally over and my writing frenzy has finally begun again! Enjoy :)

Ally was finally up and about again after her short illness period. Well, just about as 'up and about' you can be from a wheelchair. She had decided to forget about those horrible nightmares she'd had day after day, and she hid her feelings to everyone she knew. Right now she sat in her and Austin's practice room, somewhere she had never thought she could be again. But it was possible. Ally's father had gotten two retractable stair lifts for Ally after saving up the money in secret. One was for the first flight of steps before the small landing, and the other was for the final steps up to the platform to the practice room. It was all Ally could do not to cry of joy for what they have accomplished.

"Thank you dad! I love you so much!" She yelped, hugging her father as best as she could. Mr. Dawson smiled happily. His daughter finally had the sparkle in her eyes back.

"Now you and I can write together again, Ally. Oh, and I have a surprise for you too." Austin said, gently placing a small silver box in Ally's petite and waiting hands. She lifted the lid to reveal a small pendent in the shape of two A's interconnected by a G Clef. She knew what it meant immediately. Austin and Ally.

"It's beautiful Austin. Thank you." She told him, unable to keep herself from crying now. This seemed to set off the emotions in everyone else and soon they all stood or sat crying tears of happiness.

The Next Day…

Austin and Ally were in the Practice Room writing their latest song, not for their careers but rather just because they now could. They stopped writing at the sound of someone entering the room. It was Kira. Ally didn't know why, but she was suddenly feeling jealous, and held onto Austin's hand.

"Hey guys, I heard Ally was doing better so I came to say hi." Kira said, entering the room and glancing at Ally's hand in Austin's.

"Hi Kira," Austin said casually. Kira stepped closer and could not seem to take her eyes off their hands.

"So, you guys are together?" Kira questions, obviously a tad annoyed at their show of affection. Ally turned toward Austin and kissed him on the cheek. Austin stood oblivious to the two girl's tension.

"Yup, we're a couple now! And it's great." Ally said, exaggerating the last part.

"How great, anyway I should go. You guys seem busy." Kira said in defeat, turning to leave just as Austin stopped her.

"No, we were just writing for fun. Why don't we all hang out together?" Austin said, earning a smile from Kira and a glare from Ally.

"Ok, I'll meet you both downstairs!" Kira said, basically skipping out of the door. Once outside their hearing, Kira took the stair lifts down and pretended to fall at the bottom.

"Ah! Austin!" She yelled in 'pain'. Inside Austin heard the screams and ran out of the Practice Room, leaving Ally to find Kira lying on the ground seemingly hurt. Running down the stairs Austin then helped her to her feet and she pretended to be unable to stand alone.

"What happened? Are you ok?" Austin asked her, unaware that Ally had wheeled herself out of the practice room and was attempting to get into the stair lift on her own. Ally was nervous about Kira just as much as Austin was. She may have been jealous earlier but she would've never wished Kira to be hurt the way she was.

"Kira are you alright?" Ally yelled from the top of the stairs. Both Austin and Kira ignored her. Ally wanted to help but she still couldn't get into the seat for the stair lift. Even if she did get down to the first landing, she wouldn't have her wheelchair to get to the second stair lift.

"Austin I can't stand. I think I twisted my ankle!" Kira said, starting to 'cry'.

"Ok, we need to get you to the doctor. I'll carry you," Austin said, picking up Kira into his arms and rushing out of the store, completely forgetting Ally's existence. Austin still loved Ally, and didn't mean to leave her there. But he didn't want anything to happen to Kira too. They were friends. Ally saw them leave and decided to give up on the stair lift. It seems she'll be in the practice room all alone for a while. Trish and Dez went to the movies and her father was on break. So Ally went back into the practice room and shut the door behind her. Wheeling herself over to the piano she remembered her nightmare about Austin leaving her behind. Then she thought about the way Austin ran out with Kira in his arms. She was the damsel in distress and he was her knight in shining armor. She didn't want to admit that maybe Austin still had feelings for Kira since they dated. But that's definitely what it looked like.

"There's no way I can make it without you," Ally whispered, remembering the flowers Austin had given her when he and Kira had went on the date Ally had prepared for them. To be honest Ally felt like he didn't need her as much anymore. She was the one in a wheelchair who needed all the help. Especially because the therapy sessions were going nowhere. She was the one who couldn't make it without Austin. She couldn't imagine a life without him there for her, even if they were still only just friends. And she sat there for a little over an hour playing the keys on the piano to that same song, waiting for Austin or anyone to return for her.
