Sabertooth's Bookworm
Levy hadn't dared tell the two men about what she had just gone through only moment's ago. Gajeel had honestly scared the wits out of her and both Sting and Rogue could easily tell something was up. Maybe it was the lack of any colour what so ever upon her skin.
When the two ushered her shaking body back into the hotel the while guild almost caused a riot. Minerva was screeching the many ways she'd preform torture upon the offered. Orga released his anger upon a poor wall than remained no more and Rufus lost his usually clam and collected composures, his face now twisted up with anger.
The whole guild was on alert after that, constantly 'checking in' on Levy or asking to borrow something as they'd conveniently 'forgotten' their own. The whole au-deal was stressful on the blue hair midget but then again it was comforting.
It scared her to no ends that Gajeel of all people had gotten his hands on her. Just the memory of his angered expression made the poor solid script mage want to curl up and cry for at least a week or perhaps two.
The comforting part was her guilds love. Everyone was there for her and she enjoyed that. It reminded her that no matter what happened she'd always have those she held closest, her guild.
At midnight Levy'd been abruptly awoken by Sting and Rogue rushing from the room, her mind completely blank until she remembered the first challenge for the Grand Magic Games was typically at midnight. Getting up and fetching Minerva's coat the small woman ventured out to find her sisterly figure.
Minerva was seated on her balcony staring out at the distance with a cup on tea in her hand and a second on the table beside her. Without even having to signal her arrival Minerva signalled Levy to come and sit beside her. "Tea?"
"Yes please, Min-chan." Accepting the seat and drink Levy followed Minerva's eye's and felt her blood run cold.
Members of guilds were flying from the sky, pained expressions on their faces as Levy continued to rise her glance to a large flat arena that was gradually growing smaller with every person falling off. Before she could even open her mouth Minerva began to explain.
"The first challenge is a survival of the fittest. All team members are up on that arena up there with ruins restricting the use of magic." Taking a quick sip of her tea the guild master continued. "The last eight teams remaining on the field will move on the the actual games... oh and as each contestant gets knocked off the arena get's smaller. Fun eh?"
Levy's eyes rushed over the battle, her eyes searching and searching for one team, her team. She'd seen people thrown, smashed and beaten half to death as the limp bodies began to pile below but finally she saw them.
Well to be precise she saw Orga smashing two heads together but still. Her team was honestly dominating. The men took down anyone in their way with ease, it was terrifying for those standing against them. The match began to move so quickly, Levy soon began to loose track of who was who however before long only a small amount of figures were left standing before a bright light surrounding them.
A loud booming voice was then projected across the city. "And that's it! The teams will officially be announced tomorrow as the Grand Magic Games kick off!"
Levy slumped in her seat, her eyes wide. She hadn't seen anyone of her guild members fall from the small remaining battle field however she could have perhaps missed it? No she had faith in them and would believe no matter what they passed with flying colours.
"Min-chan, how do you think they went?"
"Just fine Levy, they're big boys..." Minerva's eyes still had not left the area where the battle had just taken place, her face expressionless.
"Min-chan..." Tilting her head Levy leant closer to her close friend and gently poked her. "Is something wrong?"
"No Levy... nothing is wrong." She could easily tell the other woman was lying but decided to drop the topic.
Taking another sip of her tea Levy leant back into her chair and glanced into the sky. "I truly believe Sabertooth will win this year Min-Min! I really do."
Chuckling Minerva refilled her dainty tea cup and finally let her eyes drift from the now empty sky. "Well Levy-chan, we'd better not let you down, ne?"
Smiling the two woman continued to sit there, side by side in complete silence. It was comforting for both. The sounds of the lively city, the loud partying guilds, the people. It was all so lovely.
Levy smiled and pulled Minerva's coat tighter around her as she over thought the contest that had just taken place. She was sure her boys had won. They'd been going so well when she last saw them in the tangle of human bodies. There was no doubt in her mind that her guild had passed.
Satisfied with the result of the battle that was still truly unknown Levy took one large drink from her tea cup and placed it carefully on the table that rested between the two women's chairs before rising.
"Min-chan I'm going back to be-" Levy from as she felt a hand reach out and grab her's, a slightly distressed Minerva being the owner. "Min-chan are you alright?
The guild master seemed like a young child at the moment as she shrunk back into the seat and pulled her knees up to her chest, her eyes drifting back to the empty space in the sky.
The two women stayed frozen for what seemed to be minutes before Minerva finally rose her head and looked to Levy looking completely vulnerable but what came next shocked Levy more that Minerva's expression.
"Levy... I think I-I'm... in love."
