"Order up." Came from the kitchen. No way was working in a dinner Caroline's dream

job but it help pay the bills. Between her freelance writing and working at the diner she

was able to make the rent and still be able to put some money towards paying off her loans.

After the whole Klaus thing Caroline felt like she needed to start over. The whole ordeal she got herself into didn't feel right. She just felt as if her whole life was a mess right now, that her parents where right about her not being able to take care of herself. But she could! She would prove them wrong.

The first thing Caroline did when she got back from the Hamptons was donate all the

clothes Klaus had gotten her to the goodwill. There was no way she was keeping anything from

the man who made her feel so small and insignificant. Caroline knew giving in to her temptation that night of the ball was not good idea. Sure he was great it bed, she was not going to lie he had her moaning like crazy something she hadn't done in a long time. But great sexes was not worth felling like she was worthless. No matter how handsome or how good he was in bed.

On her way home from work one night she noticed a for rent sign on an apartment building. It wasn't in the best or safest neighborhood and definitely no way close to her work, but it was ready and cheaper than what Bonnie and Elena were charging. She felt like the girls were always holding her hand and bailing her out of rent payments. So that night she told them she was going to movie out. They were mad at first but eventually came around to understanding. Working at the dinner was not ideal but it paid the bills and that's all that matter.

"Hey guys! What can I get you two?" Caroline smiled as she filled up Matt and Jeremy's cup of

coffee. Tonight they were working the late shift on the ambulance so that meant they stopped by to say hello.

"Hey Care! How about a number 1 with bacon, lots of bacon." Matt said as he smiled up to her.

"I'll have the same. Let's just hope we get to eat it this time before we get a call away." Jeremy laughed as he hand the menus back to Caroline.

"The struggle of being an EMT!" she joked as she walked to place their order.

At this time of the day it was just a couple of cops and the usual customers. This was Caroline's time to relax especially since she wasn't feeling too well lately.

As she filled up the last coffee she decided to take a seat next to Matt. Letting out a small sigh she laid her head on the table.

"Are you okay?" Matt asked as he looked down at her.

"Yeah, I think it's the flu . But before you say anything I'll go take something." She smiled as she got up to check on the order. But as she stood the room felt like it was was spinning.

"Care..."

"Caroline!"

Her name was the last thing she heard before everything went black.

"I want every account double checked Elijah!" Klaus shouted as he threw the papers on the floor and paced back and forth.

"I'm doing it as fast as I can." Elijah replied calmly from his seat.

Klaus never understood how Elijah could always stay so calm during harsh times. He

envied that greatly from his brother.

"I'm making sure that this also doesn't leak into the press. I think it might be smart if we

hired someone." Kol told his brother as he refilled his glass of whiskey.

"I think I might know someone who we could rely on." Elijah spoke up.

"Call them." Klaus said as looked at his brothers, dismissing them. But before they reached

the door he spoke up. "Make sure we keep this between us for now." He told them as they both nodded and walked out the door. He did not need the board finding out about money missing from the company. His father would most definitely use this to his own advantage.

"Fuck!" Klaus said as he slumped down on his chair and undid his tie. Could his life get

anymore crazier?

As he looked down on his table he noticed the letter Caroline had written him just before she left the Hampton. He had been a jerk to her, but there was nothing to changing the past. Shaking his head he went back to look over paper work. He knew women and she would come for her payment eventually. And then he would apologize and everything would be okay again.

AN: There you guys go :)
