A/N:: So it was brought to my attention that I hadn't touch this story in over 2 years... And wow... I am sorry, a lot has happened in my personal life causing me to push everything extra out of my mind, but good news is I now have a daughter of my very own ^.^ I'm a mommy now, well have been for almost a year now! but anyway! This is a short chapter because I didn't have a lot of time, but the next chapter will be out soon ( I hope)
Oh also! For the rest of the story I will be referring to Inu-No-Tashio as Toga since that is what Kagome always referred to him as.
Sesshomaru touched down in front of the Fox den setting Kagome down from his arms, as Hinoe rushed out. He picked up Kagome in a tight hug, Thanking Sesshomaru for brining his daughter home safe, inviting the Inus to a grand feast, celebrating the return of his long lost daughter and to thank Sesshomau for helping save his family.
"You still look silly" Inuyasha smirked as Chi brushed Kagomes hair.
"I-I still feel silly" Kagome grunted as Chi pulled her hair to one side, braiding it before tying it off with a white strap.
"No, you look pretty Kagome" Shippo help up a large pink and white lily.
"Thank you" Kagome looked in the mirror as Chi placed the flower over her right ear.
"You are ready My Lady" Chi backed up letting Kagome stand.
Kagome was wearing a large white Kimono with golden flakes scattered around, among the other layers of Kimonos Kagome could barely lift her arms.
"Do I have to wear this?" Kagome looked over her body, and she did look nice.
"Just for tonight, then tomorrow you can wear whatever you want." Chi smiled "A lady must wear her formal attire during these moments"
"Kagome-sama" Inuyasha laughed "I can't get used to it"
"Chi" Kagome stuck her nose in the air.
"Yes, My lady" Chi bowed
"My guest seem to be lacking in formal attire, please see that they are cleaned up and changed before dinner"
"Yes" Chi rose from her bow.
"You're not serious..." Inuyasha raise his brow.
"This way" Chi smiled but there was fire behind her eyes.
"K-Kags?" Inuyasha started to back up.
"Haha" Shippo giggled.
"Do not forget about the little one" Kagome tucked her hands into her sleeve leaving the room, hiding her smile as both boys protested to being bathed and changed.
Kagome found herself wondering through the den, as she passed the other servants, she noticed they would stop to bow, and without thinking Kagome always nodded back, she noticed she was near the throne room again, she entered seeing her father talking to Toga and his mate Sora.
"I'm not sure" She heard her father sigh before jumping to turn his attention to her.
"Hello" Kagome bowed.
"Hello Kagome-sama" Toga bowed back with a devilish smile.
"So formal" Kagome giggled as she walked up to the men.
"Same could be said for you, My lady" Toga winked "It's almost as if you never left"
"Is so wonderful being home" Kagome took a deep breath "Its a new location but it smells the same as I remember"
"My lord, Sesshomaru -sama has returned" a large guard bowed
"Send him in then" Hinoe laughed waving his arms
"Father, my lord, and my lady" Sesshomaru bowed he was wearing his usual attire but his armor was larger.
"Twice in once day" Toga slapped his knee.
"Hush mate." Sora frowned, Kagome noticed this was the first time since she entered that Sora had spoken.
"Hello Sesshomaru-sama" Kagome bowed back.
"How are you feeling?"
"Better now, I owe you my life" Kagome smiled.
"Might we go for a walk?" Sesshomaru held out his arm.
"After dinner" Kagome turned hearing a cook walk in.
"My Lords, My Lady" The Cook bowed "Dinner is served"
"Then come, lets eat and talk about the past" Hinoe threw his arm over Kagome in a warm embrace walking toward the dinning hall.
As they entered Kagome smiled see Inuyasha and Shippo already seating, wearing new clean white haoris both frowning deeply. Hinoe Sat Kagome to his right near the head of the table, Toga, Sesshomaru and Sora took their seats at the other end of the table. Dinner was filled with memories, Kagome talked about the times Toga came to watch her from the tree tops, but how she always found him and they would end up playing, Hinoe talked about how lonely he was, how he would run the country side once a year trying to find his long lost daughter. Kagome told stories about her adventures with Inuyasha and Shippo.
As Kagome listened to everyone share their stories she noticed Inuyasha was quite, and kept looking towards his father. Kagome realized the two hadn't spoke about the elephant in the room, and as much as Kagome wished for the past to be swept under the rug, it tugged at her heart know Inuyasha had questions and Toga had answers. Kagome waited for the group to quite down for a moment so she could ask.
"So Toga" Kagome looked down the table seeing Toga set his cup of Sake down.
"Yes"
"I see you have not talked to your other pup tonight" Kagome looked to Inuyasha who was shaking his head "I hate to bring up such unpleasant conversation, as we celebrate but I think Inuyasha has a right to know you"
"I was going to wait till later to speak to him in private" Toga looked to his pup Inuyasha, who was playing with his food "You look well"
"No thanks to you pops" Inuyasha spat
"I know you have questions, and I would like to answer them" Toga stood "would you come with me?"
"I..." Inuyasha looked to Kagome, she nodded her head and mouthed the word 'go' "Okay" He stood swiftly and followed his father to Hinoes study.
"That started better than I thought it would" Hinoe touched his forehead "I think we are finished for the night, we have a light show outside My lady if you wish to see it" Hinoe stood next to Sora, helping her outside.
"Would you like to go for a walk my lady?" Sesshomaru rose and stood next to Kagome.
"S-Sure" Kagome stood "Chi please watch over Shippo"
"Yes My lady"
"Walking in the garden feel nice" Kagome smiled as she held her arms in her Kimono.
"Almost like a song we sang before" Sesshomaru walked next to her.
"Its nice to hear you actually talking instead of making noises" Kagome giggled as Sesshomaru frowned.
"I had a lot of hate in my heart back then" Sesshomaru gestured to a stone bench in a willow tree.
"I'm sorry" Kagome sat down patting the seat next to her.
"Hn" Sesshomaru tucked his arms in his sleeves copying Kagome.
"Thank you for yesterday" Kagome could tell she pulled Sesshomaru from thought.
"Do not thank me" Sesshomaru was cold as usual.
"To bad, I just did" she resisted the urge to stick her tongue out.
Sesshomaru was quite for a moment before answering "You are most welcome"
Kagome and Sesshomaru could barely hear Inuyasha and Toga talking, the emotions that radiated from her father study was thick in her air, salt from the tears, rage from the anger, it was almost choking them, Kagome figured Sesshomaru was trying to listen in on their conversation.
"if you want to talk to them, I'm sure you could join"
"No, They need to settle their past" Sesshomaru shook his head
"You seem to be upset"
"Well, there was a reason I wanted to speak with you"
"You haven't really been talking" Kagome felt the small growl coming from Sesshomaru.
"Kagome, I know most of your life was stolen and you have a lot going on, but" Sesshomaru pulled his hand from his sleeve, he presented a long silver dagger "I wish to court you"
"You do?" Kagome was taken back "But you said in the clearing that you didn't want a mate"
"That was because I forgot I had you"
"Sesshomaru-sama" Kagome smiled "No"
A/N:: Well what did you think, I am SUPER rusty with this story, I also forgot how I was going to end it . Shameful I know! So I'm now trying to figure out what I want to do, I have an idea so check back soon for the last chapter :D
