Chapter 12: Slumber Party (Part 1)
"Hot Pockets!"
"Pizza!"
"Hot Pockets!"
"Pizza!"
Zuko sat in between the two siblings as they fought about what food to buy for the sleep over. Pakku and Hakoda were in the kitchen making breakfast and snickering at the scared look on Zuko's face.
"Hot Pockets!"
"Pizza!"
"Hot Pockets!"
"Pizza!"
"Zuko!"
"Yes?" Zuko's voice cracked as he looked at Katara.
"What do you think? Pizza or Hot Pockets?" Katara crossed her arms.
Sokka poked Zuko's cheek and whispered, "Remember who can kick your ass."
Katara leaned close to Zuko and whispered in his ear very softly, "Remember who saved your ass."
Zuko scratched the back of his head and looked between the two of them, "Uhm...Both?"
Sokka and Katara looked at each other and shrugged, "We have enough money for both."
Katara nodded and stood up, "I'll go call Toph and Aang. I'll let them know they can come over anytime today."
Sokka nodded and took his phone out, "I'll text Suki." Sokka stood up and went to his room. Once the two siblings were out of the room Hakoda and Pakku sat on either side of Zuko and laughed.
"You dodged a bullet there." Pakku laughed, taking a bite of his bagel.
Hakoda smiled and nodded, "I haven't seen them argue like that in years."
"So, what did Katara say to you, exactly?" Pakku looked at him, a smirk on his face.
"Well, she kind of kicked my sister's ass for me..." Zuko held his head down in embarrassment.
Hakoda smiled, "That's my girl."
Pakku looked at Zuko, "You let a girl beat someone up for you."
Hakoda cleared his throat and motioned for Pakku to 'shut up.'
Zuko sighed, "It's...complicated, sir."
"How complicated could it possibly be? Me and my sister got into fists fights all the time." Pakku said, drinking some of his coffee.
"Did your father burn your face when you fought with you sister?" Zuko looked at Pakku, with fierce eyes. Zuko got up and went up to Katara's room.
Pakku sat there, dumb-founded.
"I told you to shut up." Hakoda said, a little annoyed.
"How was I supposed to know?" Pakku commented back.
Zuko walked down the hall to Katara's room and knocked on the door, "Katara?"
Katara opened her door and frowned, "What's wrong?"
Zuko shook his head, "It's nothing. When are Aang and Toph coming over?"
Katara pulled Zuko into her room and closed the door, "What happen?"
"Katara it's-"
"Was it my grandfather?" Katara asked.
Zuko shook his head, "Katara don't worry about it. It's nothing. He didn't know."
"He didn't know what?" Katara stood in front of Zuko and placed a hand on his cheek, "Talk to me, Zuko."
Zuko smiled a little, "He asked what you said to me while you and Sokka were debating about the food. I told him that you reminded me that you kicked my sister ass and so on...and the conversation ended when we got to my father."
Katara frowned, "...Do you need me to kick my grandfathers ass?"
Zuko smiled more which made Katara smile, "No. But it would be a good fight to watch." Katara took Zuko's hand in hers and pulled her over to the bed. They laid down and curled together just as Sokka walked in.
"Okay...oogie. But, whatever. I need to take your car to go get Suki." Sokka said, walking over to Katara's dresser to get her key's.
"What? Why?" Katara asked, picking her head up off of Zuko's chest.
"Her car's in the shop." Sokka picked up Katara's key's.
"What about your brand new car?" Katara growled.
"Oh...uhh...It's not as cool looking as yours?" Sokka put on a smile.
Katara sighed, "Fine, just...don't wreck it. Oh! And pick up Hot Pockets!"
Sokka zoomed out of her room, "Wouldn't dream of it!"
Katara rolled her eyes and laid her head back on Zuko's chest.
Sokka drove to Suki's apartment building and called her, "Hey, I'm outside. Do you need me to park to help carry stuff or...?"
"Nah, I got it covered. I'm on my way down. See you soon."
They hung up and Suki soon appeared out of the building and ran over to the passenger side and got in.
"What's cooking, good looking?" Sokka wiggled his eyebrow's.
Suki giggled, "Hi, Sokka."
"Ready for an awesome sleepover?" Sokka asked as he started to drive back home.
Suki nodded, "Hell, yeah! I just have to finish a few pages of my essay, then I'm good."
Sokka groaned, "School work?"
"Yes! Sokka, I have a scholarship! I have to get everything turned in on time...or even before." Suki commented back, her arms crossed.
Sokka waved a hand at her, "I know, I know. But tonight was for everyone to relax. You can do the rest of the work tomorrow morning right?"
Suki thought a moment, "Yeah...I guess I could. If I woke up early."
"Nope! No early! I am sleeping right next to you, my arm wrapped around you, and you will not be let up until I wake up." Sokka smirked.
"What if I have to use the bathroom?" Suki commented back.
"I'll go with you to make sure you don't work," Sokka shrugged.
Suki smiled, "You would wake up just to make sure I wouldn't do any work?"
Sokka nodded, "Suki, it's only the first few weeks of college and you already look like you're taking your Finals."
Suki pulled down the sun shade and looked in the mirror, "I look that bad? Why didn't you tell me!"
Sokka smiled, "Because you look beautiful no matter how you look."
Suki looked at him, a little shocked, before slightly smiling, "Look at you. Becoming a regular casanova!"
Sokka hid his blush which only made Suki laugh.
Aang parked in car in front of Toph's place and stared. Even though he's been to the mansion a thousand times, he is still in awe at the sheer awesomeness of this magnificently decorative mansion. Toph's 'nanny', Song, walked outside, holding Toph's things.
Aang ran over to her and grabbed the bag, "Please, let me."
Song smiled, "Toph's lucky to have you, Aang." She walked over to Aang's car and opened the trunk for him.
He placed Toph's bag next to his and closed the trunk, "I'm lucky to have her."
She smiled and nodded, "You both are lucky."
Aang nodded, "So, how has she been with her...parents?"
Song sighed, "They are having a talk with her right now about the school they want to enroll her in."
"The Blind and Deaf School?" Aang asked, leaning on his car.
Song nodded and sighed, "Yeah. They've been talking for at least an hour now."
"Should I intervene and steal her away?" Aang smiled.
Song laughed, "No! Remember what happened last time!"
Aang rubbed his head, "Yeah, I still have the scar where Mr. Bei-Fong hit me with his mail opener."
Song started walking to the door, "I'll go get her. Would you like to come inside for a quick drink while you wait?"
Aang nodded, "That would be nice. Thank you, Song."
Song nodded and led Aang in, "You know where the kitchen is, help yourself." Aang thanked her and walked past the living room, den, through the dinner room and into the Kitchen. Aang opened the fridge and looked for a bottle of Sprite, but then remembered whose house he was in and just grabbed a bottle of water. He closed the fridge and walked back to the door and waited for Toph as he drank his water. When he was almost done with the bottle he could hear Toph yelling as she walked down the upstairs hall.
He frowned, Shit. I hope they didn't enroll her.
Toph came down the stairs, with Song's help and walked over to Aang.
"Please get me out of here! My parent's are about to run after me!" Toph pull's on Aang's arm.
Aang thanked Song quickly before leaving with Toph.
I am soooooo sorry for the long ass wait. But, here it is. This chapter will either be a 3 parter or 2 parter.
