A/N

I'm back with a new chapter! Last time, the two humans met in person. This time, Ethan's going to meet Resetti and see Kiki once again. This second day will be made up of more than one chapter.

And reviews (thanks as always):

Hero LumiEre Luminate: Why, ACE is a nickname I have for him, too. XD We might call him that in future chapters.

chares: Because hungry hungry hippos are the swag.

MitziCrossing: I thank you for your stamp of approval! Huzzah for shiny shinies!

TheLonelyAbsol: Great to see you again! Haha, I love a good limerick. You seem to grasp Ethan and SPEthan well. Ethan isn't much different when he gets mad, haha!

pokemonfan67: Yay! THE SHIP HAS SAILED IN YOUR TOWN YAY now to sail it in N.Y. hehe

Five reviews?! THIS IS MADNESS! Thank ya!

Now on to the story!

The little human left Ethan's home as soon as his larger self finished his story, so the tall human didn't know what to do that night. He tried going to sleep, but couldn't for fear his smaller self only left to get a weapon or something. It was late, his reasoning was irrational.

One logical thought in particular clicked in his head...perhaps his reason for not being able to sleep was not saving at his gyroid! Stepping outside for a short moment, Ethan tried asking his gyroid to save his game for him. "Request unable to be processed. Please try another command." Ethan tried everything he could think of, but there was no progress to be made. Hoping for answers in the morning, he went back into his house and finally, after many trials, fell asleep.

Kiki was also having a difficult time sleeping. She watched the clock tick slowly towards 5'o'clock, when she could get out of her house and wander about town once more. Stupid curfews. Well, "Early to bed and early to rise, makes a cat healthy, wealthy, and wise," she always said. She certainly felt healthy, but she wasn't exactly great on money right now...and there was a lot more she wanted to know...so who invented THAT saying?

Trying to close her eyes, she could only picture illusions of what she wanted to see happen tomorrow. Maybe they'd take a walk...maybe they'd have tea, or even lunch...they could spend the whole day together, but it's only his second day. 'I guess haste makes waste,' she thought. She was a very proverbial girl.

Bunnie and SPEthan, on the other hand, were having nightmares. Bunnie was tossing and turning over a vision of a giant, awkward human crushing the town and its inhabitants, while SPEthan was escaping his clone's clones and fighting them off with a shovel. SPEthan had some weird dreams. He didn't know if he could expect the town in one piece the next morning, but all he could do was sleep and wait...

As teenage Ethan arose from the ground he unwillingly slept on last night (that chair was NOT a sleeping chair), he looked outside the window. The train station's clock read 8:15—not too shabby for the first night. It was still almost an hour until Tom Nook's would open its (apparently incredibly harmful) automatic doors, so the indebted Ethan would have a head start. Well, he could do as much as possible without tools. Win some, lose some.

The door to his cottage opened and the tall, lanky teen scrambled out of his house, trying not to hit his head on the entranceway. Finally getting the door closed, he mumbled, "Well, leaves improvement for next time..." before turning around and stopping in his tracks to avoid stepping right into Kiki.

"Good morning, kittycat!" the little cat chimed.

"M-mornin', Kiki! Good to see you so early in the morning..."

"Morning?" Kiki scoffed, "I've been standing here for an hour, and I've been awake for another two, kittycat! You haven't even SEEN morning, you silly old goose!" Laughing a bit, Ethan tried to think up a response.

"Yeeeeaaahh...I'm not the morning person I should be, but I admit that I like mornings when I see 'em."

"You mean, before 10 o'clock?"

"...Before 9."

Kiki laughed a little and continued. "Anyways, Ethan, I thought, maybe, if you wanted, we could-" she was cut off when a mole popped up from underneath Ethan and sent him flying back towards his house.

"OW!" The mole yelled. "Good grief! What's with moles popping up underneath stuff all the time? Me and Don must be gettin' old. Now, where's the kid?"

"You talkin' about me?" Ethan slurred as he stumbled back onto his feet.

"Yeah, you. I'm Resetti. Mr. Resetti. I hate to interrupt your little affair with your friend here, but we got some business to discuss."

"OK...did I...do something wrong?" Ethan asked, a bit worried.

"Well, I suppose I can't say you've done somethin' wrong..."

"I tried saving last night, but-"

"No, for one thing, as long as you're here, you are constantly saving, which really, really, REALLY saves me some trouble. But...ah, I dunno how to start..." Resetti groaned in exasperation. He wasn't hired to do THIS job! How in the world could he handle what he was in no manner prepared for? "Your bein' here might be a mistake, but on behalf of the Reset Intervention Bureau and Animal Crossing... Welcome to our world. But enough friendlies! Let me lay down a few rules for ya. Number one, no breakin' the fourth wall. It's offensive. Number two, don't go around causin' trouble. We got ways of handlin' people like you. Number three, no cheating. Number four, try to keep stuff in Animal Crossing in Animal Crossing. Your pocket space will remain here, but your shirts you're wearin' could be carried out. Try to avoid that. You with me so far, kid?"

"Yeah, no troublemaking, no cheating, no world-merging the stuff, and no breaking the fourth wall which we're actually doing right now with citizens around us in broad daylight."

"OK, lemme rephrase. Don't call your neighbors a game. That's offensive. I don't mean "not politically correct," I mean it's like wishin' someone dead. Not even acknowledgin' they have feelin's or love or even a brain. We all know it's false, but people, I'm ashamed to say, are all sensitive, human or animal."

"Got it," Ethan affirmed.

"Good, now what in the world are you wearin'?" Sonny pointed out as Ethan noticed he was wearing pajama pants and his t-shirt. "Yeah, that ain't gonna cut it. Don told me you can leave and come back...so...leave and come back, this time with some decency. Change into your other shirt, first. And bring some other clothes with ya. You can't go around lookin' like that."

Ethan would have sweatdropped if he could. "Uhh...OK."

"No! Don't make him leave!" Kiki blurted.

"Don't worry, Kiki! I'll be right back. Really. Don't worry." And so Ethan left in a blue flash, and in about a minute, he returned in his t-shirt and some shorts. "Better?" Kiki breathed a sigh of relief.

"Good enough. At least ya blend in a bit more. Now, about savin', you also save when you leave and enter our world, along with every second you're in it. And about your 'character'..."

"We've met." Ethan displayed a look of fatigue recalling the event last night.

"Well, then. Judgin' by the looks of it, you didn't get along too well. You and SPEthan are now separate people. Well, you're still both the same...but...not. Ya know, I can't really explain it, but you'll have to see for yourself. And he speaks Bebebese."

"I gathered. That's gonna be hard."

"Yep. Try not to kill each other. He's just like you. Just think before you mess with him. Put yourself in his shoes. Can't be that hard. You've been in them for years. Har!" Resetti chortled. "That was a good one! Whew! Now, I gotta tunnel," Resetti wiped his brow from the heat of the moment. "But one last thing before I go...brush your teeth in the mornin'! Your breath smells like Monday! Now...SCRAM!" and Sonny went back down underground. The music resumed and Kiki smiled again after saying...

"That was...strange, kittycat," Kiki mumbled.

"Yes, Kiki, yes it was. Now, what was it you wanted to do?"

"Well, you should probably get cleaned up first..."

"There's no bathroom."

"There should be a room behind your house," pointed out Kiki.

"What?"

"I'm not kidding, kittycat! Check it out!" Sure enough, there was a door behind the house. Opening it led to a bathroom with a toilet, a sink, a shower, and other necessities, minus a light. Clever, Tom Nook. Clever.

After getting ready for the day, Ethan and Kiki set out towards the lower half of the town. "OK," Kiki began, "first, I thought we'd go and see the Able Sisters' shop. Have you been there yet, kittycat?" A question mark appeared over Kiki's head as she stopped and put a paw under her chin.

"Come to think of it..." Ethan put a hand to his chin as well. "...I've been to Nook's, naturally, because of my job, but oddly enough, I haven't found a chance to see the Able Sisters' shop yet. Sounds like a good place to start!"

Kiki smiled. "Good! Let's head over there now. Mabel and Sable are actually some of my best friends in the village, kittycat! I bet you didn't know that, huh?" Kiki winked. Ethan never saw her wink before.

"Admittedly, no, you never did mention that!"

"Well," Kiki purred as she wrapped an short, furry arm (halfway) around Ethan, "I think we're going to learn a lot about each other now! I'm so excited you're here! Ah, here we are! I just love how frilly the shop looks. It looks so colorful and inviting!" Kiki smiled. "Shall we go in, kittycat?"

"Yes, let's shall," Ethan chuckled as Ethan opened the door to let Kiki in. Mabel looked up as they walked in.

"Oh, Kiki, come on in! Welcome to the Able Sisters, where YOU are the fashion designer! What can I do for you today? And who's this?" Mabel practically shouted, a slight southern tone coming from her young voice.

"Hi, Mabel!" Kiki mewed. "I was just showing Ethan here the sights, and I thought we'd hit here first!"

"Ohhh, my, this is the famous Ethan you've talked about! Tee hee hee!" Mabel giggled. "He IS tall, isn't he? Does he hit his head on the way in much?"

Ethan piped in. "I do...well, I didn't where I came from, but I do now. But hey, I just got into town and everybody looks up to me already!" Everyone laughed at his joke, except Sable, who was fervently working on a 4-ball shirt pattern.

"Hey, Sable!" Mabel called out to her elder. "Don't be such a stick in the mud! Come on and say hi!"

"...Hi." And back to work she went.

Mabel sighed. "You'll have to excuse Sable. She's really shy around people she doesn't know well. But I say you can't know someone well until you try to know them, ya know?" They laughed a little more. Sable seemed irritated.

"Well, we don't have much time left before Nookington's opens, and I'm sure Ethan wants to get some tools as soon as he can," Kiki stated. "Thanks, Mabel! You too, Sable!"

"Thanks! You come back, now!" Mabel rang and the cat and human both left the shop. "Sis, why don't you talk to our new customers?"

"If you don't choose your friends carefully, you end up being friends with untrustworthy people, sis," Sable mumbled.

"Sis, will you let go of that? It's all good now! We're working for him, so it's not like he's mad at us!"

Sable immediately stopped what she was doing. "Well, it's not a fact of whether he's 'mad at us' or not! We just aren't on good terms."

"But he EMPLOYED us! And he was nice about it! This was YEARS ago, sis!"

"It was just for the money, sis! It's always for the money with him..." Sable muttered as she went back to her sewing. Mable crossed her arms and said nothing, musing a hundred different comebacks in her mind.

Around the time their conversation ended, Kiki and Ethan were already leaving the acre, heading towards the wishing well. "They seem like nice ladies," Ethan noted. 'And Mabel seems a little friendly,' added he in his mind.

Kiki would have raised an eyebrow. "Aw, you already knew that!"

"Well, yeah...I already know everybody in this town. But...I guess knowing them in person is an entirely new ordeal. I mean, think about it," mused Ethan, looking at Kiki. "I both know and don't know everyone here. I'm starting over in a town I've known the contents of for almost a decade. Well...maybe a few years off...but it's so weird. I don't know whether I should act like the people in town are already my best friends or just start from the beginning."

Kiki put a paw to her chin and gears appeared over her head. "Well, kittycat, I guess the best idea is to see how they react to you. I mean, I already consider myself close to you, but somebody like Cashmere...hey, what are you looking at, kittycat?"

Ethan jerked his head down from the gears to look at Kiki. "Sorry. But yeah, Bunnie acted like she already knew me like you did, but just about everyone else acted like they had just met me."

"I guess our closeness to you has something to do with it. It's not like they don't know about you, they just haven't anticipated you like I have. And Bunnie."

"Well, then I know two people who recognize me as already being close. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what unfolds," Ethan said as he began walking with Kiki towards the wishing well. The wishing well wasn't just a well...it was a fountain that apparently housed a sentient being not many knew the name of, and it somehow had connections to the conditions of the town. A gigantic tree grew behind the well, and it provided a hint of shade for those who stood under its leaves. Most town festivals were held here, as it's a popular meeting-place for the villagers in town...during the afternoon, it's rare you'll find yourself alone there. Such was the case today, as Bunnie happened to be skipping along. Kiki called out to her and Bunnie trotted right over in front of the two, beaming at Ethan.

"Heya, Sunshine! Didja sleep well last night, tee-hee?"

"I slept OK for a first night. How about you?"

"Well..." Bunnie got fidgety and would have twiddled her thumbs, had she thumbs, "I kinda didn't sleep much, 'cuz I was excited you came here!"

Ethan smiled. "Aw, I'm not that exciting! You seem awfully peppy for not sleeping so well, though."

"That's the magic of coffee, tee-hee!" Bunnie giggled. "So whatcha both been up to? Have you guys seen the museum yet?" Ethan shook his head and would have said something before Bunnie grabbed him by the shoulders. "YOU HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE MUSEUM?! This is a major crisis!"

"N-no it isn't..." mumbled a confused Kiki.

"Yes it is, tee-hee! C'mon! We gotta go RIGHT NOW!" Bunnie grabbed Ethan (rather forcefully) by the arm and began to drag him towards the museum, much to Kiki's irritation.

"Bunnie!" Kiki cried. "I'm not done with him yet! We just got through seeing Able Sisters!"

Bunnie stopped and let Ethan go, huffing a pouty huff. "Awwww! But I want to spend time with him, too, ya know. It's not like you're the ONLY one that's been waiting for him to finally come here." And then they started arguing, leaving Ethan speechless.

The clock began to chime the town tune, and the two became silent. Kiki's ears drooped in disappointment, a droop that Ethan didn't know her ears could do. "Aw, now we're out of time, kittycat! If you hadn't tried to pull him around like some suitcase..."

"Well, I just wanted to-"

"Bunnie! Kiki! It's OK!" Ethan blurted more loudly than intended, startling the two. "I'll go ahead and go to the shop now and get started on paying my loan back. Bunnie, maybe we can go to the museum sometime this afternoon, OK? And Kiki, maybe we can meet sometime tonight and go for a walk through town?"

"Sure, I guess that's fine, kittycat. It'll give us a chance to hang out and you'll already have a basic mental map of the village. Besides, the whole village feels different at night!" Kiki wiggled, practically danced, in excitement. As the animals do.

"Yeah, sure. When and where do you wanna meet up, tee-hee?"

"How about...7:00 for the walk and about 1:30 for the museum? I'll meet you in front of the museum then, Bunnie. And Kiki, I can meet you at your house, OK?" And so they agreed.

Well, there you have it! Looks like Ethan's already got his day booked. In these encounters, we'll learn a bit more about the personalities of these characters.

Questions:

1: Which do you prefer: Kiki's gentle and curious personality or Bunnie's excitable and bouncy personality?

2: As the town saves data every second while Ethan's here, this must be safe, right? Do you still think Ethan's going to mess something up?

3: This chapter ended a little differently...a little awkwardly, I feel. However, this is one of the longest chapters to date. So far, which is your favorite chapter and why?

Note: Sable's past has not yet been resolved as in later titles, where she reveals that she has a sister and a past relationship with Tom Nook. Consider this the prequel to the Wild World tales. That being said, I plan to have them interact much later in the story. It'll be brief and probably colder than some shippers might like. That being said, keep in mind this is before Sable actually opens up about the subject in Wild World, and she isn't making any attempts to resolve the issue. This'll be in the last chapters, probably. Maybe even a sequel. I'm just stating this now since her past has been alluded to already.
