CHAPTER 11

Volgagradee. Major industrial city of western DeDessia along with Penzgee. Population of over 1,000,000. Major in manufacturing, chemical production, and other

industries. Targeted as large military area, reported for taking protocol of evacuating civilians and taking huge military efforts to prevent the city from falling.

Volgagradee, DeDessia. 1600 Hours.

At this point in the war, a powerful light of a super weapon engulfed the entirety of Ukrainon and most of the

DeDessian controlled nations, desolate wastelands as they were when the security and efforts to contain the

horrors of the war as populations quickly diminished, along with alarming the fears of the entire world. Pop Star

was scarred with the destructive powers of a weapon physically and mentally with all people burdened with such a

horrible tragedy and immensely great fear. The enormous explosion and the resulting spreading of radiation to several places

forced some people to cooperate and rebuild and provide relief, but the war dragged on. The oppressive march

charging swiftly forward against the enemy happened with breaking through the nonexistent border with great

losses. The nations-long blockade settled along the border was invaded by the Amerikirb and met with huge

resistance along its border states with a suppressing joint strike. The border finally shattered at the might of the

patriotic Amerikirb and the DeDessian defenses moved to support their remaining cities they had left. Penzgee and

Krooznodar were the northern cities left in the way of the POPOPO before its very capital up north were left to be

won after a presumably long fight. As informed by strategic commanders, the lieutenants charged with leading the

assault took the cities from the enemy that did not choose to attack toward the east, as they wanted to leave

the area cut off from their supplying and crush their morale with the help of their allies. It would not be an easy

task, however, as the area is heavily guarded and must be dealt with extreme force, no surrender, and no mercy for

any, civilian or soldier of the enemy to be corrupted under the regime. As the army marches forward along the

desolated grounds, as the air force clouds the darkened skies, as the navy tread through the forbidden waters,

their mere presence noted that the end was near. The panic of the attacks and complete overtaking of the

northwest front urged the youth of Amerikirb and its allies to join in the fight through a dazzling display

of propaganda through government provided channels of information disclosed to the public with awe inspiring

narration. The northeast invasion swiftly followed. The end was near, another statement demonstrating the

invasion as a demonstration of a great nation fighting for democracy and freedom. The

border satellites that DeDessia had formerly possessed had quickly fallen and its governments were ousted by the

people to fight for freedom. Those in exile betrayed the socialist utopia and converted to western ideals and

practices. The rebellions were not put down, the forces of the great nation of Amerikirb arrived to destroy the

DeDessian occupied areas and was thus received many thanks by the people who had lived under a cheated

system of complete absolute corruption. They were promised freedom under the better living standard and left the

ruined areas to escape what was left of their homes. Thus, from the views of the western powers, the heartless

monster of DeDessia was exposed. DeDessia had still continued to do what it could against the struggle of its

titanic rival as well. Every escape from the conflicting ideals brought harm to the economy. It held complete control

over its population of refugees and people from its eastern possessions and POWs in preventing them from

escaping, as well as people within its own borders in dealing with the threat. They were to follow at the discretion

of police and military personnel to get to safety. But, really, to the Amerikirb and its allies, there was none, as it was

done in all its socialist countries. The rights of the people were abused and neglected, and they felt they had to be

brought to light. Complete crushing of the DeDessian morale was all on its mind. The virus must be destroyed.

The encroaching advance smashes through the enemy's military bastion along the area with casualties, and they still

pressed on. Even the troops of the special warfare groups and large scale offensives were informed of their noble

task, to lead the people to liberation, no matter the cost.

Pinkobashi lays within the blood tray at the rear of a C-133 carrier plane, flying over DeDeDe airspace.

"What...what the..." Pinkobashi opens his eyes and then feels the metal beneath his feet. He then clenches his fist

while looking at Hikariowataru's eyes. She then gazes into his eyes, letting out a breath of worry. She then

breathes and prepares to talk to him as he moves his legs up.

"Quite a rest...You must have really felt it..."

"Yeah...I just slept on the plane ride...how long will it be until we get to our target?..."

"I don't know...Pinkobashi..."

"This war is useless...will it ever end?..."

"Listen to me...Pinkobashi..."

"What...is it?..."

"I mean...the war...it will end...yes...I can see it..." She then opens to yawn.

"You must be tired as well...well...to agree with your point...who knows...what was said...war has been from the

very beginning...we strive to fight...we don't know when to stop..."

"Of course...what was I thinking...silly me...our desire for peace...is solved by war..."

"We suppress the virus...the DeDessians...they see nothing in our potential...they are lying...they desire constant

bloodshed to satisfy their blasphemous mouths...and have the energy to bring about even more conflict...they have

no sympathy...they are a collective..."

"Of course...and you do say another conflict will begin?...when?...how?..."

"I don't know...it may even begin in this very war itself...it is a world war after all..."

"Oh yes..." Then Pinkobashi puts his arm against his head attempting to collect his thoughts.

"Are we really pawns?...this confuses me...we are supposed to be the elite...we demonstrate our military power...yet

we are a confused lot...the propaganda..."

"No...this is entirely stupid...we are supposed to be elite...we are used by people with even greater power...we

cannot rebel...we always fight...for the sake of our united republic..."

"Republic...no...are you sure that you are right about that...are we corrupted...too..."

"Everything has been so distorted...I can't see straight..."

"Of course you can't...you are confused as well...you are forced to do as you are told...to obey the state...ha...this

state due to its arrogance challenges not only DeDessia but the rest of the world...we as the state police the

world...we are spreading deceit...we see..." Pinkobashi stopped in the middle of his sentence. Hikariowataru was

eager to hear more of him.

"We see...violence against violence...suffering...warmongers...arrogant...power hungry...uncaring...destructive...tyrants...us...becoming...the monsters..."

"Yes...I see...I am inspired by your words...Pinkobashi...you have great potential..."

"Thank you..." Hikariowataru leans herself toward Pinkobashi and proceeds to kiss him.

"We see nothing...we are blinded...the light has finally faded...it is now darkness..."

At that point, they both heard a door open and halted their movement. A shadow enters the room, walking toward

them. As the shadow moved incredibly close, they recognize that it was Muhanseinoshotto from his face. The sniper

took up his rifle and stared into both of the fighters.

"Hello there...friends...I see that last battle really took a lot out of you..."

"Of course...Muhanseinoshotto...how long has it been?...I have lost track of time..."

"It has been only about seven weeks...remember that our action has caused us to expose a weakness in their

system...we bore through the cell infected by the virus...our antibodies are rushing in to join in breaking it...with our

help...the world will never be sick any longer..."

"That is nice of us...have we been called for another assignment...our aggression will cause fear among their

ranks...they deserve their demise...we as a cell should be able to absorb them into our likeness...the old world will

finally fade...our kind will forever prosper..." affirmed the swordsman coming in right beside the sniper. He delightfully smiled to the group.

"Meinoyonoken...you're okay!...I missed you...I thought you wouldn't make it..." shouted Pinkobashi as he ran up to

wrap his arms around him with another briefly warm welcome.

"Don't thank me...thank the gods...and thank our medical advancement...I feel like I can purge the entire army with

my strength...I feel like an instrument of chaos...a sword and shield...I feel like a true warrior again...I want to push

my limits...I have been given a new life..."

"Of course you do...old friend...you do realize that a sword and shield are obsolete...we will have to rely on new

technology...our republic and its remarkable advances in science and engineering will always find an answer to put

itself toward whatever the situation might be..." said the heavy as he walked up to them.

"I was trying to be metaphorical...don't you people have a ability to represent or prefigure anything..."

"We are salvation...we are peace...we are hope...I can surely do that...for I...Kanashimiohbingu...great soldier of

Destined Providence...will always see to its goals..."

"I'm just wondering, Meinoyonoken, what will you have instead of your sword? You lost it over the flying fortress,

remember." reminded Pinkobashi.

"Yes...I was getting to that...I will be tasked with holding standard issue weaponry from now on...from losing my

family heirloom...I have learned that I have the chance to redeem myself now with my old order gone...I will still live

to fight with remembrance of my people..."

"How delightful...delicious...I fathom myself in my goals...too...greetings...team..." said the commander by the door.

"I see you have accompanied yourselves well...we have a mission..."

"Yes sir! Commander sir!" declared Pinkobashi. "We are eager to be informed! My commander!"

"What is it now...tell me commander...will we finally be able to defeat the DeDeDe...yet..."

said Pinkobashi eager for a reply on the announced matter at hand, shaking with surprising joy.

"Not yet...corporal...or should I say...sergeant..."

"What?! Thank the gods! I've been promoted!"

"Yes...you will now have the courage, duty, and honor to lead not yourself...but others...to fight for the glory of the

united republic of Amerikirb...our great nation...congratulations..."

"My duty has been fulfilled because of you...all of you...I will now be ready to fight against all odds...Look out

DeDeDe...you're going to take your fucking medicine...yours truly..."

"That's my soldier...soon...we'll have all the world partake in the gifts our republic has to offer."

"Of course...their blind loyalty comes at a price...I hope he realizes it..." affirms the sniper.

"What is it? I don't realize it..." asked Pinkobashi.

"The fact that they have no judgment...they continuously fight...they have no knowledge of whatever they fight

for...only against...its common among the democratic patriots..."

"They must be really damn stubborn...jeez..."

"Of course...soldiers are expendable...as with their thoughts and mindsets..."

"I see...anyway...I'd love to lead my men into battle...it's for a good cause...right?"

"Yes...come on...the commander is going to tell us our mission...aren't you the least bit excited..."

"I'm excited..."

"Men...we have another mission...we are called to attack the DeDessia against what ever remaining cities they have

left to defend...and no...we will not kill any civilians...we will protect them and get them to safety...the enemy will

feel our wrath..." affirmed the commander.

"And you mean..."

"Yes...we will lead the charge...together...we will liberate them from their chains..."

"Where are we going?"

"We're going to take out one of the major industrial cities along their grand capital...eliminate the enemy

opposition...continue moving forward...obliterate the opposition...we're on our way to help our own soldiers

assigned to cut their military production factories and bases...just like on Ukrainon...we wiped them out...smashing a

hole right through their wall and going through..."

"You mean Ukrainon...there was supposed to a large enemy area beneath the aerial fortress. I don't remember

seeing anything warlike when we were freely falling...it was a city..."

"A city...full of innocent civilians...by the ancients...all dead..."

"I believe the view that...you're wrong Pinkobashi...there was supposed to be a large enemy area under

there...thousands of enemy personnel...stationed there...a huge opposition of several battalions of tanks and

aircraft and high performance weapons..."

"It is just a war crime to us and to them..."

"I'm serious...our intelligence would never do such a thing...did they anticipate this...did we go on the wrong

place...that was the only fortress we've been informed of...we destroyed a super weapon...a monster...a demon

beast...what more could we have asked to accomplish?"

"Unless...if the DeDessia have more than one flying fortress...still operational...and defending the airspace like a cell

wall...it will reform itself...this one happened to obliterate a city...over which the wreckage will ensure more of a

frontal military territorial advantage...an even stronger blockade..."

"No...listen to me...Pinkobashi...your judgment has clouded you...it must have stirred up a storm in your mind..."

"I know what I'm saying! This attack was fucking justifiable by all means...there may luckily have been

survivors...lamenting for the lost ones...grieved with the pains of war...we can do nothing to help them...we instill

within them our power..."

"But...we...did it...to justify our strength..."

"Well it just so happens our strength is able to cause pain and loss of all kinds!"

"I'm sorry...Pinkobashi...but you have been warned...turn yourself over to orders or be demoted...I'd be happy to

oblige...instruments used for purging enemy sympathizers can be broken...unable

to work...defected...corrupted...useless in a disposable world..."

"Amerikirb...is not what it is anymore...what about that damned super weapon that started this entire mess...our

efforts to control its potential...left with the rich to decide its fate...remember the effects even one of these things

can have on the world!"

"Pinkobashi...listen to me..."

"You can do nothing to the state! It is everywhere! It runs on our fears! It cheats and steals!"

"You are disobeying a direct order..."

"I thought this was a free country! I can say whatever I want!"

"Muhanseinoshotto...Kanashimiohbingu...Meinoyonoken..." The three all surrounded him.

"What are you doing? I thought I was your friend..." Hikariowataru looked back at them.

"Take close watch at what he does...suppress him even...otherwise...bring him to me..."

"Yes sir..." They all turned their heads and walked away from Pinkobashi.

"Fine...I'll lead my men to do what is right for the glory of the regime...I'll be your puppet..."

"This is no regime...this a republic...setting forth the new age of a world of peace..."

"Republic...of course..." Pinkobashi muttered under his breath as he saw the commander turn away from him to look

up and study the confinements of metal above their heads. "This is supposed to be Amerikirb...the United States...a great

nation...reducing itself to nothing...its policies are so corrupt that it is ever subversive as I dare speak of its exploits...what is

seen as freedom and righteousness is apparently lost...I'm under a...dictatorship..."

"I feel that I am no longer a citizen...I am the enlightened...nothing is clouded anymore...I just...need to wake

up...wake up...Amerikirb...don't you realize that you're being used?!"

"What was that?!" shouted the commander from across the room. "Who dares defy our new world order!

Pinkobashi! Men! Get over here at once!" All three of his cohorts surrounded the warrior. "Now I don't know where

this ego of yours came from, but it must be suppressed!"

"We need you to calm down...take this pill...we always wanted you to have it...its another invincibility drug...it'll

make you come back stronger than before...join us...you'll have the entire world under your feet...you will have the

opportunity to command anything..." convinced the heavy, showing him a pill of a different color from his pocket. It was

red tinted with a star label, slightly larger than the one he took.

"Anything...why...anything..."

"Yes...lay down now...just relax..."

"Where have you been all this time...where have you been..."

"I never know...I was a warrior destined to fight and die for the good of our nation..."

"I always wanted to be one...I have visions that cloud my judgment every time I see something that is wrong to

me...the fighting...I hope it ends..."

"Me too..." the heavy allows Pinkobashi to swallow the pill. His body immediately started to shut down on him. He felt that

his body was weighing down on him, unable to feel his arms and legs. He was pinned down, unable to get up,

watching as the heavy was staring down at him. The weakened warrior struggled to heave himself up, but his

muscles were wearing on him. He struggled to stretch his arm to touch and grab a weapon, a pistol for a sidearm,

agitated while the gun was laying beside him. He then gave up, his shortness of breath made his head drop. He

could not push out the loose air inside him, unable to escape, hyperventilating, until he forced it out of his body. All

he could do was look up to the lighting in the darkened atmosphere of the interior of the carrier plane, and breathe.

His face began to feel overcome with anxiety. His face muscles struggled, tearing to feel anger and sadness. He

began to choke, groping for his throat to let out a cry for help. Sweat flooded along his face. He could barely

whisper, shutting himself out. At that point the heavy had left him, and Hikariowataruwas the only one left to

accompany him. Pinkobashi could see the signs as he collected his thoughts of the horrifying images in his head.

"Pinkobashi...Pinkobashi..." the worried spy came down to aid him. He was beginning to lose himself. He could only

speak only a few words at a time. His body was weighing on him. The spy quickly crawled onto Pinkobashi's body,

stretching her arms and legs between him, putting chest atop chest. She put her face right up near him, peering into

his eyes with a worried glance.

"What happened?...why are you on the floor?"

"I took a pill..."

"Tell me...Pinkobashi...are you alright..." Pinkobashi could not look away from the light.

"No...no...Hi...ka...rio...wa...taru...ugh..."

"Just relax...I'll get it out...ugh...no...the pill...did you ingest that pill?"

"An invincibility pill..."

"No...its a pill that slowly knocks you out...a sleeping pill..."

"You're telling me...I've been deceived...no...ugh...those bastards..."

"Open your mouth..."

"Aaaahhhhh...I can't..."

"It's in too deep...no..."

"No...help me...damn it..."

"It's alright...just relax...let the pill take its effects...it will not harm you...I'll watch you every so often...they'll

probably move your body somewhere...you'll be fine..."

"Fine...what...the...ugh...damn it...help me...bitch..."

"Alright then...I'll help you...my brave man...just take my advice...just turn to the light over there...oh...wait...you

can't turn yourself...oh well...just stay right there..."

"Ugh...ugh...no...no...you...bastards...no..."

"Just stay calm..." Pinkobashi struggled to keep his eyes open, or even hold up his tiring head.

"No...no...need to wake up...wake up...damn...it...no..." His eyes finally closed. His head pointed up at Hikariowataru

who was somewhat startled from watching him sleep. She moved away from Pinkobashi and tripped on his leg,

causing her to stumble right in front of the commander and his men. She looked up at the stubbornly confused faces

of her male superiors with her head under her commander's right boot.

"What are you doing here...Hikariowataru?" interrogated the commander eyeing down as she got up.

"Are you trying to spy on us? Are you trying to spy on...Pinkobashi?" questioned the heavy.

"Yeah, why do you dare trespass in here? We're conducting work!" asserted the swordsman.

"I was...just...checking in on Pinkobashi...honest...I noticed that...he was left weakened on the ground...you

poisoned him...why...why would you do this?..."

"It had to be done..." affirmed the heavy. "We need our operations to not be jeopardized..."

"It is all done to preserve the well being of our commanding officers...maybe he's dreaming of commanding and

fighting the enemy...his fears...hmm...in total darkness...I presume..." pondered the swordsman, imagining the pink

blur in his dream world battling his own internal evils.

"Your work shows nothing for itself...you've incapacitated him...why...I'd like to inform you of your exploits to high

command...they would like to hear of your prowess impacting on your newest youthful addition...made weak by

your false deception..." Hikariowataru shouted. The commander covered one arm over the mouth of the spy, while

the other had a pistol in hand, pointed right at her head.

"Unless if you want to say anything...I'd say you'd have to keep your mouth shut...it won't matter...suicide pill or

shot...either way...We'd have you under control...You don't need to tell any of our fellow soldiers...they won't

listen...you'll be just a mere plaything to them..." the sniper claimed.

"Abuse is not of our concern right now...only our goal...we want them under our control..." declared the heavy. "Our

initiative is to make our country and those who follow in it receive equality and general respect for our differences in

rights, religions, races, and creeds. We are the gods' given nation."

"Right from the fucking history books...What happened to Amerikirb...it was so great...has it lost its ways...all those

nations involved...enslaved by the horrors...we are pawns...locked in the control for political gain...damn...how

despicable! Watch as your own people are ruined...lost...deserted from you! What you truly deserve is for the pain of

all under your influence!"

"Silence!" shouted Seginorishippu. Hikariowataru was swiftly beaten by her commander with a punch to her face.

Knocked down with such a blow caused her to face to turn red with the mark of the fist. Bright red splotches of

blood gushed along her face. She started to tear up from the brandishing and looked down over Pinkobashi.

"Don't you dare defy our orders! Take your chance with your fate!" The men walked away from the two, not willing to

turn back. They stopped to turn toward the front with their hands folded behind their backs as they shuffled, watching the

blue pilot of the plane manning the controls.

"Ahh yes...how long will we be waiting until we are in range of our target?..."

"About seven hours sir...do something to occupy yourselves..." assured the pilot.

"I just want to know...because one of our men couldn't sleep and had to take a pill..."

"Oh, those sleeping pills usually take about seven hours for a person to wake up..."

"Perfect timing...then he'll be combat ready after a while...we'll all land safely..."

"Make sure he's safely on watch...we may experience some turbulence on our flight..."

"Someone is at watch...nothing will get between them..."

"Good...then it'll be a smooth flight nonetheless..."

Hikariowataru then sat close over Pinkobashi soundly sleeping, almost hearing his heartbeat as she quieted herself.

She struggled to smile as she inspected him. Amid the pain, she felt that she could kiss him. Through her mind

unbeknownst to her cohorts was her views of life, like Pinkobashi, trapped in a dark shell already cracked open,

revealed, confused with his presumed enlightened ideas. To Pinkobashi, it seemed that he was locked within the

trials of himself, but it was unknown of what and how he will be imagining to face them in his mind, by himself or

with others to guide him and help him face his fears. Complete darkness what was Hikariowataru saw Pinkobashi

was facing, the utter end.

Pinkobashi was lost in his perpetual dreams. In the darkness and despair of eternal blackness, he saw himself in his

current physical state walking along a dark unending plane of blackness. He begins to hear the sounds of

screaming, crying, and shouting, bombarding him with fear, slowly driving him insane. He covered his ears, hoping to

shut out the horrors. The warrior is suddenly brightened by a very bright light in a hint of flashing red, shielding his

eyes with his arms. He was no longer blinded when it dimmed. When he looks up to view whatever was beyond, he

opens his mouth, gazing at awe at a symbol of evil looking straight at him from a high point. The object materialized into the shape of a

great red eye fully open, constantly staring. He was forced to look into it as it was stationary, moved by the voices

in the darkness. The eye grew larger and peered. He began to see his teammates emerging from the blackness,

one after the other. Their arms were open, their eyes closed, their body motionless as they levitated at

certain points along the eye. From there, the five soldiers were juxtaposed to form a pentagram upon which blood red

lines were formed. Pinkobashi then began to felt like his feet were being stained, and looked down to see pools of

blood flow around him, completely mortified. He is shocked as bodies rise and fall, cadavers of soldiers of the

Amerikirban and DeDessian factions, screaming out to him. Even more so were the innocent civilians suffering the

same fate, strewn about the bones and flesh and blood and internal organs mashed together, mixed in the fires.

Fire surged out from the pits, engulfing the bodies, burning them, searing them, melting them, cleansing them to complete

annihilation. Pillars of bodies are cast about in forming several structures towering over him, still howling with the fearful

sounds. Pinkobashi is shocked at the horrible images. The spiteful eye levitated over him to a greater height and glowed

brightly. The ground shakes, the warrior trembles into the sea of flames, struggling over the cracked rocks he

held on before which had made up the former dark plane. Then, a strike of thunder slammed into the ground and rocks

exploded. All around him was nothing but flames and burning lava all around him. The smoke hindered his vision.

The bodies frightened him, the screams forced him to escape, yet he was tossed in the ocean of fire,

unable to breach the surface. He could barely breathe in the harsh firestorm, wincing away from the conflagration. Out

from the bodies came their souls screaming as disgusting malformed bodies from which they inhabited. Looking onward,

he began to observe the shadows of a giant beast, a Waddle Dee, rising. The red eye ogled down at him and glistened.

The beast reared its ugly head and roared. It charged toward him and stopped until he began to see its

appearance, and stopped, looking at him. The wasteland seemed as if there was no place to hide, so he decided to

run from the monster. He looks up at the eye and down at the monstrosity. Suddenly, as he looks up around the

brightened burning sky, he watches meteors of ash and fire fall around him, and as he runs, presumably outrunning

the beast, he sees a light appear from the heavens. A plump figure descended from the heavens with the form of a

Kirby, unknown to what the thing could be. He saw the shadow don two glowing wings and sport a halo. An

arm stretched out toward Pinkobashi's hands. To him, he was rescued by an unknown angel. As he gripped the

hand, the shadows revealed them to be Hikariowataru, going up to reveal more of her shadowed body. The angel

had looked tearful in her eyes, as she was wounded in the face. Pinkobashi felt ashamed as he eyed at the mark,

trying to feel it with his arm and then rub it. She then closed her eyes to kiss him on the mouth. Pinkobashi turned

himself toward the lips and touched it. Then, the warrior finally awoke, opening his eyes to see a surprised

Hikariowataru raise herself up to look at him.

"Pinkobashi...you're alright...thank goodness you're okay..."

"Ugh...How long has it been?...Hikariowataru..."

"Seven hours...the pill finally wore out...do you feel alright?"

"Of course...I'm ready to fight anything...what happened to your face?"

"Nothing...it's nothing...I hit something as the plane shifted...I cut my face...the plane moved...objects shifted in

flight...I wonder if we've touched down yet..."

"Soon...I bet..."

"So...what about the nation...it's a great one...we're the best..."

"Of course...what transpired in my mind was a mental hell...you...an angel...you saved...me...from it..."

"What is it? And how could I have possibly aided you?"

"Oh, it was just a huge monster...stalking me in a sea of flames...a huge pit of fire...people were dying and their

souls screamed with fear...there also was this eye..."

"Oh...tell me about it later..."

The commander and his men marched up to them. "Hello there, you two...our destination is here...we'll be touching

down...get your weapons men!" he shouted. "Let's go!" The rear door of the carrier opened, exposing the light

filling the interior. The group all went toward the light, ready to do whatever was needed to bring an end the war.

They all landed on the ground in the midst of a war torn city. Banners were torn. Buildings had fallen. Fires

spread. Bodies of the defending soldiers and civilians lie on the ground as bloody misshapen burned carcasses.

Tanks and planes were reduced to shattered wrecks. The smoke and ash swirled around as the carrier and other

planes landed on the ground. The landing soldiers still shielded their eyes as the smut flew in their direction, feeling

as if they were fighting in a dust storm, bracing the force of the mighty winds. They all stepped through the

wreckage of the buildings, tiptoeing around shattered glass shards and broken metal twisted against the force of

the attack. Pinkobashi stared at a charred skeleton with its skull crushed under the rubble charred from

the bombing, looking into its eye sockets, nose and shattered jaw, seeing if there was anything to tell of its life.

Then the hell unfolded with even more skeletons, tossed about in piles inside pits thrust right in several small

craters appearing right in the once busy streets. Vehicles left in the wake were so damaged beyond

repair that they were ripped apart with parts thrown about around the craters. Some of those parts were lost

in the pits, while most were together, broken as usual. The troopers could barely see that they were cars or trucks

leveled throughout the area. Some of the vehicles were tossed about along the sidewalks, while

others had crashed through windows. The fires still burned in some places, but were slowly dying as the exhaust

from the jets blew them away completely. The soldiers continued treading along the wasteland somewhat bothered

by the harsh atmosphere. They were observing the polluted sky, watching dark clouds with

smoke. The chaos, the death and despair continued to show itself throughout the entire city.

"What do we do now? There's nothing we can find in this wasteland?" asked the heavy.

"Calm down, Kanashimiohbingu. We just need to regroup with any forces in the area. Hopefully there's more of this

area not completely leveled." affirmed the sniper.

"No contacts yet...still...be on your guard..." asserted the heavy. "I like the hiding types...they actually give me a fighting

chance and are somewhat worthy..."

"Where is civilization?...we absolutely destroyed this place..." Hikariowataru indicated.

"What do we do if...and only if...we find any survivors? What about if we find any prisoners of war?" asked the sniper.

"Remember. We just take em' under our custody. They'll be fine." promised the commander.

"I hope so..." contemplated the sergeant who had no one to help him other than his team.

The team continued to wander along the battlefield unknown of what lies beyond them.

There really were no prisoners of war. There were no defectors. They were all shot by the DeDessians.
