Hey...so what do I have to say about this delay? New school Year? Searching for college? Just being absolute lazy? Sadly it has been all those things, and plus this episode never got my attention, I only really did it due to story. And I been playing games...so I'm sorry sorry sorry for the delay! This may be short but at least I got it out.

Chapter 12:

Face to Face

"That is a lot of dried sweet peas Mrs. Bradley." Spencer stated watching the young mother unload her groceries. "Why so many?"

"One is cause I love these, two Diana have been eating these also, and third someone in this house has been stealing them at night." Shayera stated placing a carton of soy milk in the refrigerator.

Spencer nodded his head. "Makes sense."

"Mrs. Bradley!" Rose called out running over. "I have a question."

"Okay, what is it Rose?" Shayera questioned.

"The parchment, do you know anyone who can translate it or get close to it?" The pink ranger questioned.

"I know a few, one of my dad's close friends but he lives in Reefside, then there's my uncle Andros." Shayera muttered and took out her phone calling the Blue space ranger. "Hey Uncle TJ, do you know if Uncle Andros is here...he is? Where is he? San Angeles great, address?" The young woman picked up a pen and grabbed a posted note and wrote down the address and a phone number she heard over the phone. "Thanks uncle TJ."

"Mrs. Bradley?" Rose asked.

"My Uncle Andros is in town, here this is where he's staying." The young mother handed the pink ranger the address and phone number. "Give him a call and tell him what the situation."

"Thanks" Rose smiled and left.

"I didn't know one of your uncles are scholars in the understanding alien language." Spencer stated.

"He not a scholar...he's from a different plant and traveled around space." Shayera stated.

"Oh"

"So Derek when you plan on taking Rose out for a date?" Will asked the green ranger.

The young brunette choked on his drink and pounded his chest. "W-What?" He looked at Will surprise. "What you talking about?"

"Oh come on Derek, we see how you look at Rose." Ronny smiled. "I mean you guys are around the same age."

"Come on don't be shy." Will chuckled and punched his shoulder lightly.

Derek mumbled under his breath getting the two older ranger's attention.

"What was that Derek?" Ronny asked.

"I never took a girl out on a date before..." Derek muttered.

Will smiled and wrapped his arms around the young ranger's shoulder. "Then, let us help."

"Guys!" Mack called out running towards the rangers. "You got to hear this!"

"Des really, I sent you extra money cause I thought you'll need it for the baby." Shayera stated over the phone while watching her children play outside the Hartford's mansion.

"Shay we really don't need it. We can go by with the money I get from the Silver Guardians." Desmond said through the phone.

"Still Des it's always good to have more money then just what you need for babies. You never know if another will appear. Plus you'll have extra for your wedding." Shayera smiled.

Desmond sighed over the phone giving up. "Fine you win sis, we'll keep the money. Anyways what's up?"

"It's Diana…she had another dream but it sounded different." Shayera said leaning forward. "She said she saw a monster that looked sad and confused, not just that but he didn't want to fight the rangers."

"That is different. What do you think it means?"

"I think the rangers are getting a new teammate soon, and he's not gonna be human." Shayera explained.

"Weird, anyway we found out what the gender is." Desmond stated.

"Oh? And you never thought of telling me when you called to complain about me sending you money?" Shayera questioned. "I'm hurt Desi."

"Shut up." Desmond sighed. "We are having a baby girl."

"Great news guys!" Rose smiled.

"What is it Rose?" Derek asked the pink ranger.

"I managed to make some progress of figuring out how to read this parchment" Rose smiled.

"How? Found a Alien to English dictionary?" Ronny asked.

"No." Rose said. "One of Mrs. Bradley's uncles can translate it."

"Derek you know who?" Will asked the green ranger.

"There's a couple, but I don't know which one my sis would give Rose." Derek muttered.

"His name is Andros." Rose stated. "I'll be taking the parchment to him today."

"That's great, you can take Mack with you and he can tell you all about the new sonic streaker." Will smirked.

"That's a great idea." Mack smiled. "Derek you want to come also since he's your uncle?"

"Well…" Derek started.

"He has plans with me and Will." Ronny stated pulling Derek close to her. "You can tell his uncle Derek says 'hi' Mack."

Mack nodded and went to follow Rose calling out to her. Derek looked at the yellow and black ranger with a raise eyebrow. "So…what plans do I have with you?"

"Plans on how to take Rose out on a date." Will smirked. "The best is gonna teach you how to get a girl."

"Oh boy."

Later that day Andros looked at the small piece of parchment that was ripped off from the battle. "I can't translate the whole thing but this one right here." He pointed to one of the symbols. "Means mountains and this one means diamond."

"That's good enough for a lead." Derek stated.

"I agree. This document can lead us to the next jewel of the Corona Aurora." Andrew stated and walked off with the rangers following him minus Derek.

"So you finally joined in the color brigade" Andros smiled at the green ranger.

"Yeah suppose I have." Derek smiled and hugged Andros. "It's good to see you again Uncle Andros."

"You two, gonna go say hello to Shayera then head off." Andros stated and walked off.

"So Mack any information about that broken crystal?" Dax questioned.

"Nothing no jewel signature of any kind. It's just your average space rock." Mack stated.

"My question is why the monster got so upset over it." Rose frowned. "It's almost like…"

"Like he wasn't a monster at all?" Derek asked walking towards the rangers.

"He works for Moltor." Ronny stated. "I don't care about his resume, he's going down."

"Or." Derek started. "He could be a potential ally."

The next day in the early morning Shayera walked to the kitchen and stopped seeing Mao standing there smiling. "Master Mao? Why you here and not in Pai Zhuq?"

"It's about Derek." Mao stated.

"What about him? Does he have to leave now?" Shayera questioned.

"No, in fact he not going to Pai Zhuq" Mao stated. "You trained him well Shayera, well enough he can prove himself as a leader and not a follower."

"What do you mean?" Shayera frowned. "Mine and Des test was to prove we can be one with our spirits."

"That and be leaders." Mao smiled. "Derek test is about to come."

"Does this go along with Diana's vision?" Shayera questioned.

Mao nodded his head and walked off. "See you soon Shayera."

"Shayera we have a slight problem." Andrew stated walking to the young woman.

"If it's about Derek leave it to him." Shayera stated taking a sip of her tea.

Andrew shook his head and pulled a chair up next to her and sat down looking at her. "What are you talking about?"

The young mother looked down at her drink and sighed. "Master Mao came to visit me…Derek will be facing his test."

"But he may be with a dangerous creature who could be working with Moltor." Andrew stated.

"Are you sure Andrew?"

"You sure your friends will trust me?" Tyzonn asked the green ranger.

"Do you want the lie or the truth?" Derek asked looking at his new friend.

"The truth.

"I don't know honestly…I mean yeah I'm sure they trust me but with that stunt I did running after you? I doubt it." Derek shrugged.

"Then why are we heading to them?" Tyzonn frowned.

Derek shrugged his shoulder. "Sometimes a ranger has to follow his own path and be his own leader."

"That's his test?" Andrew frowned.

Shayera nodded. "He already closed to his animal spirit, but he always falls down to a young boy who will follow any one who is older."

After the battle and the rangers gaining the Toru diamond, and the 'healing' of Tyzonn. Derek was looking at his new stripes, running his finger over the mark. "I can't believe…me a master already."

"What you looking at Derek?" A soft voice asked the young master.

Acting quickly the green ranger pulled his sleeve over his mark and turned around. "Rose? What you doing here?"

"Well, we're introducing Tyzonn to your Mrs. Bradley and the kids, and I didn't see you there so…here I am." Rose stated.

"Oh…hows that going for him?" Derek aked.

"Well, the triplets don't like him at all." Rose stated.

"Cause Tenaya doesn't?"

"I guess so." Rose shrugged. "Can I sit next to you?"

"Huh?" Derek blinked and quickly shook his head sliding to the left. "I mean yeah sure, the sun set really looks nice here."

Rose walked over and sat next to the green ranger looking up at the horizon. "Yeah…one of my class mates told me that there's always an unexpected present over the horizon as long as the one you love is looking at the same one."

Derek turned his head and nodded his head. "That sounds…interesting."

"So was this what you were looking at?" Rose asked

"Umm…no not really." Derek sighed and pulled his sleeve up slightly looking at his mark again. "When…when I went after Tyzonn and help him, I was doing that to prove that….I could lead myself and not always follow orders."

Rose frowned and looked at the young man. "What you talking about? When we went to St. Lucia you did great at leading us."

"Yeah, but I did that following a order…and plus I had to prove it to myself." Derek sighed. "That's why I went after Tyzonn without you guys cause I knew that if I told you…"

"And we said no you would have listen." Rose whispered looking at the green ranger in aw. "So you weren't just helping hi or proving something to us…but trying to prove something to yourself?"

Derek nodded and pulled his sleeve up all the way showing the pink ranger his mark. "And this…other than getting a friend was the end result."

Rose looked at the mark and gently took his hand to get a close look at it. "Mrs. Bradley has one just like this…"

"Yeah. It's a symbol that you are a master." Derek sighed and turned his head, and felt heat rise up to his cheeks noticing how close the pink ranger is to him.

"Ronny, look." Will whispered to the yellow ranger.

"Why are you whispering?" Ronny frowned walking over to Will and smiled. "Aw…they are so cute together. Let's give them some alone time."

"I couldn't agree anymore." Will smiled and walked off.

"So, Derek since you have it are you…gonna leave to the school?" Rose asked.

"I don't know honestly." Derek shrugged and laid back looking up at the sky.

Rose nodded and looked at the horizon again. "I wonder if what my friend said is true…"

Derek looked at her and whispered to himself, "I really do hope she is.."

As I said it's pretty short, but I decided to give you all some Desmond and Rose time. They're romance is slowly budding now for the chapter line up:
