Alright, lovelies. I desperately need you to forgive any major spelling errors. This chapter was written half on paper, but typed up on my tablet, which my new at. But I still love you!
Jyou
Leaning over the younger blonde to check his pulse, I frown. I have no idea if he's going to live. The part of me that was raised as a Light citizen tells me to let both boys die. They are, after all, the enemy. The doctor in me wants me to save them both. The friend of me wants at least...Yomato? Is that his name? Well either way, the older boy to live for Taichi's sake. It's a very confusing delima. King Tai hi had given up his bed for the sick siblings, and is sleeping on a cot that was brought in from somewhere. He doesn't complain, although I imagine it's very uncomfortable. Speaking of Taichi, the king basically stumbles into the room, mumbling about guards, and scary dogs. He looks worried, and upset though. He glances at the bed before sighing.
"Your majesty." I greet, bowing. This earns me an annoyed glance.
"Don't.." he protests weakly. "We've known each other forever, Taichi is fine."
I dip my head to acknowledge his words. At the same time Taichi's guards enter the now over crowded room. Taichi sighs in annoyance. They refuse to allow Taichi near the siblings, positive one will attack him. Taichi protests this actively, convinced that Yomato would never hurt him. After hearing a tiny bit about his journeys with the blondes, something makes me believe him. Taichi and Hikari may be safe, but everyone else might not be. The room falls silent, and I move around the bed to check the other boys pulse. I find myself surprised.
"Are they doing any better?" Taichi asks without too much hope in his voice.
"This one is." Taichi's eyes widen slightly.
"Yeah?" He asks, like he doesn't believe me.
"Compared to yesterday, he's doing amazing." Taichi grins at me.
"Is Takeru doing any better?"
"A little, but don't get to excited yet.." I half lie. Takeru has been getting better, but he's no where near close enough to say he's safe. Taichi of course ignores, my advice.
Nearly a week later, and besides that one change in Yomato, there's hardly anything to report. Taichi is growing more and more agitated. With me, his guards, the boys. The only difference is that there's been a white wolf stalking me for the last two days. According to Taichi, her name is Angel, and she is bonded with Yomato. However, I fail to see how her name could be "Angel" because she terrifies. Not that she's made contact, in fact, she's hardly come within ten feet of me, but she's always there, watching. It sends shivers down my spine. A wander into Taichi's room, and freeze. The bed is missing a blonde. I panic. My eyes shoot across the room, and I heave out a sigh. A pair of sapphire eyes turn to look at me. Those eyes narrow slightly, then turn back to look at the setting sun.
"How? What? I don-?" Blue eyes turn to look at me, and perfect eyebrow goes up.
"Excuse me? I don't speak stutter." The voice is icy, but also velvety. A strange mixture.
"Three hours ago I thought you were going to die!" I say, totally confused. Yomato turns back to the window, without a response. I move towards him, and the white stalker wolf leaps to her feet, snarling at me.
"Relax," Yomato mutters without looking at her. She paces around me as I carefully approach the blonde.
"I need to take your pulse." The boy offers out his wrist without glancing at me. I very gently place my fingers on the pulse point in his arm, and count out in my head. "Can I look at your eyes?" I ask after. The blonde turns to look at me. I check his pupils which look okay now, but when I show him the little electric light, they don't dilate. I frown.
"Am I gonna die, doc?" He asks, and I don't miss the sarcasm in his voice.
"I don't think so. But your pupils should dilate.." I trail off, as I ponder what could make his eyes not dilate correctly. Then I really notice the sapphire eyes. Underneath his eyes are black, and he looks exhausted. I can feel my eyebrows furrow as I move away from Yomato and his wolf to check on his brother. I feel those neutral eyes on me, and I get goosebumps. After checking on Takeru's progress, I look back at the elder brother.
"Are you hungry?" I ask. He shakes his head. The wolf sits at his feet. I stand awkwardly in the middle of the room, unsure what to do next. I should be running for Taichi, but the King is not in the castle at the moment. Him and Hikari went out for sibling bonding time. I watch Yomato, who watches out the window. His wolf watches me.
(A/n just so everyone knows, I have purposely left Yama's name spelled Yomato for this section)
Yamato
"Are you hungry?" The blue haired doctor asks. I shake my head, mostly distracted by the noise going on in my head.
"Are you sure you're well enough to be up?" Angel's voice invades, pushing the other sounds out.
"No." I answer her.
"Then sleep." She pleads.
"I will, once he leaves. Where's Taichi?" I can feel Angel's confusion at the question, she mentally shrugs without saying anything about it though.
"Gone. With his sister. He'll be back soon, I imagine. It's getting dark. And Kasolite comes closer. You're being spoken to." I turn my head to the doctor.
"What?" I ask him, my voice filled with more venom then intended.
"My name's Jyou." He repeats.
"Oh. Yamato."
"Yamato?" He repeats, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink.
"Yeah." Angel lets out a strange coughy-bark sound. She's laughing. "What?" I ask her.
"Yomato." She mispronounces my name, and by the darkening pink in Jyou's cheeks, apparently she invited him into that jab.
"Huh?" I ask stupidly. She pushes thoughts on me. Jyou, thinking of me, and mispronouncing my name as well. "Hmm." I mumble to myself.
"Well, uh, I should..go see if Taichi's around." Jyou mutters. "Please stay in the room, at least until Taichi's back." he says, before departing.
My eyes linger on the spot momentarily before I turn back to the window. I wonder where the doctor thinks I would go if Taichi's not here. I am, after all, somewhere I am clearly not wanted.
"Where does he think you'll go after what they did to you?"
"I don't know. How's Takeru?"
"He's still alive. The doctor doesn't think he'll live.." My eyes narrow.
"Of course he's going to live."
"Of course." She repeats. I turn to glare at her.
"You frustrate me. Go away." I tell her. She moves away from my feet, to sit by the door, but does not leave the room. I frown at her before getting to my very sore feet and legs, and walking back over to my brother. I collapse on the bed next to him. I glance around what I can only assume is Taichi's room. Why on earth we're in here is something I probably won't figure out on my own.
"Get better." I whisper to my brother. Takeru twitches, which I take as a good sign. I shift my weight, which causes unnecessary stress on my probably broken ribs, to get the blanket over me. I drift in and out of almost sleep for awhile. And then a thought occurs me that has me sitting up. The pain causes me to squeak. I wasn't expecting the ache to be everywhere.
"Yamato?" Angel asks, alarmed. She's jumped to her feet.
"What happened?" I ask. Angel shifts uncomfortably as she gazes at me. "Tell me!" I demand. Angel shows me things how she remembers them. I still don't remember my share of it, but hers is enough. It makes me clench my teeth and hands in anger.
"Relax, master. Taichi has dealt with it." I snort.
"If Taichi had dealt with it, Takeru wouldn't be dying."
