jojo298/healylite/Zarathos' chain: Thanks for the support!
alphaomega7: Ash's friends don't know what it really is, that's why they call it armor. It's a special equipment used to hold a Mega Stone for Pokemon, if you're wondering when Ash got it, it was during the flashback in Chapter 7. If you want a point of reference, check out Alan's Charizard from "SS029-Pokemon: The Strongest Mega Evolution Special."
Tokipelto: Thanks, but don't worry, Drew still has a role in the story.
RedFalcon123: Thanks, but I don't think I will. Because I want each person to have one Mega Evolution that distinguishes themselves from the others who can Mega Evolve as well.
Bro: Thanks a lot. Well, maybe not revealed but there will be some interaction.
Chapter 12
"'Satoshi', wait!" Brock reached out and placed a hand on the Aura Guardian's shoulder.
'Satoshi' stopped in his tracks and turned around, but he didn't make a single sound.
"Don't you think that you've humiliated him enough? I mean I don't like him any more than you do, but killing him just isn't right. It's just like you're doing the same thing he did to Ash and his parents." Brock advised.
'Satoshi's' expression was completely unreadable, but surprisingly, he walked over to Drew's fading body. 'Satoshi' stretched his hand out and emitted some Aura that connected with Drew, and after a few seconds, he withdrew his hand.
"There, I gave him enough Aura to live, but there's a catch." 'Satoshi' continued, "I removed the Aura he has in most parts of his body, so he can't move his arms and legs, or any other part of his body aside from his head and face."
'Satoshi' hopped onto Charizard, deciding to let Charizard fly him to the hotel rather than walk alongside him. Charizard flapped his wings and took off, leaving the crowd astonished at the mysterious person's abilities.
The crowd of reporters swarmed Drew as they asked questions while some of his loyal fans called an ambulance. The group of teenagers gathered inside the Pokemon Center discussing about what had happened.
"Guys, you should look for May, she's probably at her room back in the hotel. You should go comfort her, but Gary, I need to talk with you." Brock said with a serious expression, the same expression he only used in a terrible situation. The expression Misty saw on his face only once, on the day they saved Ash's Charmander.
The group knew better than to argue with the oldest member, so they split up; leaving Brock and Gary alone.
"What's up Brock?" Gary asked nonchalantly.
"I think 'Satoshi' is hiding something, something that involves Ash." The Pokemon Doctor replied.
Gary's demeanor completely changed, he nodded and motioned for Brock to continue as they walked away from the door that lead to the battlefield, to the Pokemon Center's lounge, which was empty.
They took their seats and Brock started to explain.
"He knows something important. He knew about what Drew did even before he confessed it, all of the Pokemon we've seen from him so far are the same Pokemon Ash used to have, and his Crawdaunt has the same characteristics as Ash's Corphish when it's confused. I also suspect that he was there during the raid and somehow managed to escape and also that Ash must have told him where his Pokemon were so that someone could take care of them. Think about it, a Crawdaunt, Tyranitar, Typhlosion, Meganium, Charizard, Torterra, Garchomp, and a Pikachu. All of them are Pokemon that Ash has captured before, and about his Pikachu, I didn't see him return it into a Pokeball, so there is a chance that his Pikachu is also Ash's Pikachu." Brock said calmly.
"You might be right about this Brock!" Gary continued, "But we shouldn't tell everybody about this, let's confront him about this tonight. While everybody's asleep, I'll hack into the tournament's computer to find out where he's staying and we'll sneak in and corner him."
Brock nodded and walked with Gary, to their hotel to get ready for Max's match, which was happening at 3 o'clock and the time was already 2:47.
As they walked, they bumped into the others on the way to the hotel.
"Hey guys, just in time, we need to go to Max's battlefield before the battle starts!" Gary said as he pushed everybody in the group towards the direction of the field.
"So, how are you feeling May?" Brock asked with uncertainty.
"I'm fine now, Dawn and Misty really took my mind off things." May replied.
"What did you two do?" Brock asked the other two girls of the group.
"Well, we…." Dawn started.
With the majority of the group…..
The group of four made it to May's room and heard crying from the room, which confirmed that May was indeed in there.
"Max, give me your key to the room, and you and Tracey go down to the lobby, we'll meet you guys when we're done here." Misty ordered.
Max gave Misty a card and walked with Tracey to the elevators while the girls opened the door.
"Hey May, c'mon, cheer up, we should be celebrating! You're finally away from that jerk!" Dawn encouraged enthusiastically.
May got up from her bed and glared at the two girls.
"You really don't understand, do you? I'm honestly happy that I broke up with him but when I think about it, he planned all that because of me, Ash was killed with his parents because he wanted to have me all to himself." May blamed herself as she walked forward so she was face to face with the other two girls.
"May, it isn't your fault. C'mon, look at it this way, you could have a shot at dating 'Satoshi', he's really cute and you're finally single again. Plus he's a great Trainer and an Aura Guardian too!" Misty said with a wink.
May blushed as she thought about the idea, but she was soon back to her depressed self.
"I don't know, I'm still not happy about what Drew pulled off….." May murmured.
"Come on! We need to go now May, or did you forget that Max is also battling, Gary's gonna battle too!" Dawn reminded.
"I'm not in the mood to go…" May walked back to her bed and lied down.
Dawn and Misty whispered and exchanged a few glances. They walked over to May and put their plan into action. Misty brought out her mallet and slammed it on May's head while Dawn pulled on May's shorts, making them fall to the ground.
"Catch us if you can!" Dawn teased as she and Misty ran out of the room.
May was rubbing her head and as soon as she saw the two girls escape, she pulled her shorts back on and chased after them.
"We ran down to the lobby and May chased us until she got tired and gave up." Dawn finished, proud of her work.
May hung her head down in defeat, being completely embarrassed about Dawn's actions. But she wouldn't let that stop her, it was her brother's first battle in the tournament and she was going to be there for him; which was a lesson she learned on the day Ash left.
They group walked into the field and spotted someone familiar, and his appearance and clothing haven't changed since the last time they saw him.
"Conway?!" The entire group shouted, knowing him from the stories Dawn and Brock told them.
"Well, well. If it isn't Dawn and her friends." Conway readjusted his glasses as he greeted the teenagers.
"Looks like it's a battle between the nerds…" Misty muttered under her breath.
"Hey! I'm right here!" Max shouted, pointing to himself.
"Sorry…hehe" Misty grabbed Tracey's arm and lead him to the stands while the rest followed.
"Do your best Max!" May shouted.
"I will, thanks sis!" Max ran to one side of the field while Conway, walked slowly to the other.
"This will be a 3-on-3 match between Max from Petalburg City and Conway from Hearthome City. Call your side for the coin toss!" The referee announced.
"I call heads!" Max shouted.
"Then it's tails for me." Conway replied.
"Conway won the coin toss, so he sends out his first Pokemon! Begin!"
"Okay, go, Aggron!" Conway tossed a Pokeball which revealed the massive Steel-Type Pokemon.
"An Aggron. A Water, Fighting, or Ground-Type would be a good choice, hmm….I choose you, Breloom!" Max threw his Pokeball into the air.
The Pokemon that came out of the Pokeball was a bipedal green kangaroo-like Pokemon. It had a green mushroom cap, red claws on its hands and feet, and at the end of the tip of its tail was a cluster of poisonous green spores.
"Aggron, Magnet Rise and then Rock Polish." Conway began formulating his strategy to cover Aggron's weakness against speed and Ground-Type attacks.
Aggron became outlined in a yellow light, crackling with blue electricity. The Iron Armor Pokemon then started to levitate.
"Breloom, use Spore!"
Breloom released a sparkling white powder from the spores on its tail. The powder's range was too wide to dodge, but Conway had another plan in mind.
"Use Metal Sound before the Spore hits!" Conway ordered.
Aggron's two horns glowed white and started to produce blue sound waves. Breloom was hit, but the only thing that the Grass-Type did was cover its ears. Aggron soon breathed in the white powder and fell asleep.
"Okay, Breloom, use Force Palm back to back until you paralyze Aggron!" Max ordered, trying to gain the speed advantage again.
"Hehehe….all according to plan. Aggron, Sleep Talk." Conway chuckled that Max fell for the trick so easily.
Breloom sprinted towards Aggron, forming a white ball of energy in its right palm. Breloom was just a few feet away from Aggron, until Aggron opened its mouth and unleashed a burst of strong cold wind and snow. The Blizzard hit Breloom, sending it to the ground and freezing its right arm in the process.
"Breloom!" Max shouted in worry.
"Sleep Talk one more time!" Conway pointed at Breloom, who was trying to stand up.
Aggron levitated towards Breloom, summoning a whitish-blue aura to surround itself.
"Breloom, use Drain Punch to counter that Head Smash!" Max shouted desperately.
Breloom used its left arm, which was glowing green with yellow streaks, to prepare the attack. Aggron lowered its head while Breloom threw a punch to meet the Head Smash. Aggron's attack wasn't powerful enough to match Breloom's Drain Punch; however, the super-effective attack was enough to wake Aggron up.
"Breloom, return. I still need you later. Sceptile, let's go!" Max returned Breloom and sent out the large green lizard.
"Sceptile, use Leech Seed!"
Sceptile spat a single seed at Aggron's chest. The seed opened and immediately grew in vines that wrapped around the Steel-Type, continually sapping the energy out of the Pokemon.
"Aggron, Fire Blast!"
"Sceptile, Detect!" Max said as he came up with an attack that might have a chance to beat Aggron.
Sceptile eyes glowed blue and it tilted its head making the Fire Blast miss by a few centimeters. Suddenly, Aggron fell down onto the field, signaling that Magnet Rise was no longer working.
"Perfect! Sceptile, get in close with Quick Attack and use Low Kick!" Max ordered.
Sceptile sprinted forward, leaving a trail of white light. It approached Aggron and swung its leg, making the Iron Armor Pokemon trip. After falling down, Aggron wasn't able to get back up.
"Aggron is unable to battle, Sceptile wins!"
"Aggron, return. Impressive, Max, using Aggron's weight against me. Let's see if you can handle this next Pokemon. Slowking, go." Conway sent out his only Water-Type.
"Conway, you know you're at a disadvantage if you use Slowking, right?" Max questioned.
"I taught my Pokemon various moves to overcome their weaknesses. Your should remember that after seeing Aggron's Fire Blast and Blizzard…hehehe." Conway let out a creepy chuckle.
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that. Sceptile, use Leaf Blade!"
The leaves on Sceptile's arms glowed green and extended into thin razor sharp blades. The Starter ran forward, ready to slash Slowking.
"Use Protect to shield yourself. Then use Psychic and Ice Beam at close range." Conway adjusted his glasses and thought of his next move.
Slowking summoned a green barrier that blocked the Leaf Blade, the Royal Pokemon's eyes glowed blue as Sceptile was outlined in blue light. As the barrier dissipated, Sceptile was still in Psychic's control and Slowking fired a bright blue beam from its mouth in the direction of the Hoenn Pokemon. Sceptile screeched in pain from the Ice Beam as Slowking continued its attack by slamming Sceptile against the battlefield.
"Hold on Sceptile! Use Frenzy Plant!"
Sceptile slammed its tail against the ground, making large thorny roots come out. The roots began whipping Slowking, causing the Water-Type immense pain. The attack finished and both Pokemon were panting hard. One from exhaustion, and the other from pain.
"Sceptile, return. You need to recharge and rest. Breloom, let's finish this!" Max returned the Starter and sent out his previous Pokemon, whose arm was still frozen.
"Breloom, use Seed Bomb before Slowking recovers!"
Breloom formed multiple white balls between its claws and fired them at Slowking.
"Slowking, use Future Sight." Conway knew it was over for Slowking, but he should at least take advantage of the situation.
Slowking's eyes glowed blue for a moment and turned back to their normal color as the Seed Bomb knocked out the Royal Pokemon.
"Slowking is unable to battle, Breloom wins!"
"Two down, one more to go!" Max pumped his fist into the air.
Without saying another word, Conway returned Slowking and sent out his last Pokemon.
"Go, Heracross!" Conway had a creepy smile on his face. He stalked Max enough to know his current team lineup, and each of them were weak to either Bug or Fighting-Type moves, with the exception of Breloom.
'Let's see. His current team is made up of Vigoroth, Sceptile, Breloom, Gardevoir, Mightyena, and Walrein. I've weakened his first two Pokemon enough with Aggron and Slowking, plus there's the Future Sight that's coming up.' Conway strategized in his head while Max returned Breloom and sent out his last Pokemon.
"Gardevoir, let's win this!" Max shouted, throwing a Pokeball that released the humanoid Psychic-Type.
"Heracross, use Double Team and swarm all over Gardevoir, and use Fury Cutter."
Heracross multiplied in numbers, each time twice as much as the last. The army of Bug-Types all flew around Gardevoir, confusing the Embrace Pokemon. Heracross's arms glowed a bright red and transformed into scythes. The Single Horn Pokemon repeatedly landed hit after hit on Gardevoir, making the attack gradually increase in power.
"Gardevoir, quick, use Flash and then Teleport!" Gardevoir let out a battle cry and released a blinding white light. After everybody's vision was restored, Gardevoir was gone.
"Let's find out which is the real one, use Shock Wave!" Max ordered.
A bolt of blue electricity fell from the sky. The Shock Wave guided itself and electrocuted the real Heracross, making the Bug-Type lose focus on maintaining the illusions.
"Use Swords Dance!" Conway prepared his plan B, just in case Fury Cutter was stopped, as he kept his eyes on Gardevoir, who was floating high above the field.
"Use Will-O-Wisp and combine it with Psychic!" Max shouted.
Gardevoir formed a blue fireball between her hands and threw it at Heracross, and at the same time, controlling the fireball's movement with Psychic.
"Heracross, use Rain Dance to put out Will-O-Wisp."
Heracross formed a ball of blue energy and used it to launch a beam into the sky. The action caused the clouds to release a lot of water. The raindrops extinguished the fireball, but not the blue orb of psychic energy that was heading towards Heracross.
"Use Night Slash to negate the Psychic attack and use Megahorn." Conway ordered.
Heracross's arm glowed purple and took the shape of a blade; it then flew off the ground. The Bug-Type slashed the blue ball like it was nothing and prepared to ram into the Psychic-Type with its horn glowing white.
'This is it, there's no way Gardevoir can take a powered up Megahorn after all those Fury Cutters…Time to test out our new move.' Max thought.
"Gardevoir, I know you can't hold on much longer, so let's try our new move; I know we haven't perfected it yet but it's better than nothing. Healing Wish!" Max hoped for the best.
Gardevoir glowed blue and released bright white sparkles into the air and started falling down to the ground, making Heracross's Megahorn miss.
"Gardevoir return!" Max returned the Pokemon before she crashed into the ground.
"Gardevoir is unable to battle, Heracross wins!"
"Here goes. Breloom, come on out!" Max sent his partially frozen Pokemon into battle.
The dual-type was panting extremely hard due to the previous battles it went through. The white sparkles surrounded the Pokemon and made it glow white, but after the glowing subsided, the only difference that could be seen was that Breloom wasn't frozen anymore, but it was still panting heavily.
"No! Healing Wish didn't completely work!" Max yelled out in shock and anxiety.
"Tsk tsk Max. Never use a move without perfecting it." Conway lectured.
"Breloom, Mach Punch!" Max thought of any way to overcome Conway's Heracross.
"Counter with Fury Cutter." Heracross turned its hand into a red scythe again before matching Breloom's attack.
As their attacks connected, Max decided to use an unexpected move.
"Use Toxic!" Max ordered.
Breloom lowered its head and released purple liquid from the two openings it had on its mushroom cap. The liquid entered Heracross's eyes, effectively blinding the Bug-Type as the two separated.
"Heracross!" Conway yelled in worry. This was not what he planned for the battle.
Suddenly, a bright blue beam shot down from the sky and hit Breloom, causing the exhausted Pokemon to faint.
"Breloom is unable to battle, Heracross wins!"
"Breloom, you were great, thanks for the help." Max complimented and sent out his Starter Pokemon back out.
"I completely forgot about that Future Sight Conway, but…I'm still gonna win this!" Max pointed his thumb to himself.
"Let's see about that. Heracross, Aerial Ace!" Conway ordered, knowing that any other move had a higher chance of missing and he wasn't going to risk it.
"Sceptile, use Detect to dodge it and use YOUR Aerial Ace when Heracross gets close." Max commanded.
Sceptile's eyes glowed blue and it jumped above Heracross, who was aiming at its stomach for a hit. The Starter then dived down and covered the short distance between itself and Heracross's back. Dust and sand rose from the impact that Heracross had with the dirt.
When the cloud of dirt settled, Sceptile was standing above Heracross, who had swirls in its eyes.
"Heracross is unable to battle, Sceptile wins! Which means the victory goes to Max from Petalburg City!"
"YEAH! I WON!" Max shouted at the top of his lungs.
'Satoshi' sat on his bed with Pikachu curled up next to him. However, the boy was concentrating really hard with his eyes shut. He was pouring out Aura that was starting to take shape of something, or more precisely, someone. Once the Aura settled, 'Satoshi' opened his eyes to meet someone he hadn't seen in a while.
"Is something wrong son?" A voice could be heard through the entire room.
