horseyyay: Yes, I do like Gerard and Emmy and some other people like them too. I am glad you're warming up to Ramin and I hope you will warm up to Sierra too. She is beautiful and such an amazing singer. Also the chemistry she and Ramin have onstage and offstage is amazing. They are such good co-stars and friends. As for the cloak, that's a costume every stage show Phantom has to wear. :)
emeraldphan: Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy the rest. Thank you for your support! Also it has been such a blessing to meet other phans in real life, especially after I left my fine arts school. :)
Spirit of the Opera: Hello, I am doing very well. Thank you for asking! :) Thank you for the support and I will tell Dominic that for you. :)
I hope you like this chapter and I don't own "The Phantom of the Opera".
Chapter 12: Cast Party and the Rooftop
It was closing night for the production of "Hannibal", Angel and the rest of the cast stood on stage as the audience gave a standing ovation. The company took one final bow and the curtain came to a close. "Hannibal's" three-week run had truly been a success. Every night was sold out and the reviews were great. To celebrate the success of the entire production, Monsieur Firmin and Monsieur André decided to hold a cast party, in the foyer of the opera house.
At ten o'clock the party started. The foyer of the opera house was filled with music and chatting and dancing cast and crew members. The orchestra played music, while most of the crew had already taken some bottles of alcohol and left to have a party of their own. Also most of the cast talked amongst themselves or danced with a partner, and the girls of the corps de ballet either waited for some handsome man to ask them to dance or just dance with each other. Either way everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, well everyone except for Angel.
Angel stood in the corner of the foyer, by herself. She usually enjoyed parties, but all she really wanted to do tonight was be with Dominic. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she was starting to fall in love with Dominic. She loves to be in his company. He is always so sweet and such a gentleman, to her. He also plays the most wonderful music for her. She wishes she could just tell him about her feelings, but two important things get in her way of doing that. Either she is too scared to admit that she's in love, because this was the first time she has ever fallen in love, or she's scared that if she did say she loves him, he wouldn't feel the same way.
As Angel continued to think about what she feels about Dominic and what he feels about her, Brianna started to make her way to the corner where Angel was standing. Brianna tapped Angel on the shoulder and Angel turned to face her.
"Hey, why aren't you enjoying the party. Are you sad that no one has asked you to dance yet, because I don't think anybody can see you, from where you are standing. If you come out from that corner and have some fun, I bet you you'll have every single man asking you for a dance." Brianna said.
"No it's not that." Angel replied.
"If it's not that then what is it?" Brianna asked. She started to think of what could be wrong with Angel, then it hit her. "Wait a minute, you're waiting for someone, aren't you? Oh, is he the man you met after opening night?"
"No I'm not waiting for anybody. I'm just not really in the mood to be at a party." Angel said.
"Oh, so do you want to be alone?" Brianna asked.
"Yes, I need to think something out."
"I know! You could go to the roof. Not that many people go up there and it's very quiet. It's the perfect place to think, plus it has the most amazing view at night."
"That would be nice, but how do I get up there?"
Brianna pointed to a hallway. "Just go down that hallway and take the second right. There should be a door that leads to a staircase. Just keep going up until you reach the roof."
"Thank you, Brianna." Angel said and she started to walked down the hall.
"You're Welcome. Now be careful up there, we don't want the Phantom to get you." Brianna said with a laugh at the end, as she walked back to the party.
Angel walked down the hall and turned right. Then she found the door that leads to the staircase. She started up the staircase and she climbed up, all the way up to the rooftop. She opened the door and was greeted by a cool autumn wind. She walked towards the edge and saw how beautiful the lights of the Paris night were.
"Wow, Brianna was right. It's beautiful up here." Angel said, to herself.
Angel backed away from the edge, in fear of falling over, and walked towards the middle of the roof. She started to remember what her parents told her about this rooftop. It was the place where they both first said that they loved each other. Angel sighed and realized that she wanted to share a moment like that, with Dominic. Just without the part that someone was watching them, while they said that.
She sat down next to a statue and leaned up against it, as she drifted off into thinking about Dominic again. She was so into thought, that she didn't even noticed that the door opened and someone walk towards her. Until she heard him speak.
"Would you mind if I sit with you?"
She looked to find the familiar masked face of Dominic, looking at her.
"I wouldn't mind at all." She said, as she scooted over, so she and Dominic could both lean back on the statue. Dominic sat next to her and said.
"Why aren't you at the party? It looks like fun and everyone is looking for you. I mean you are the Prima Donna."
"I know, but I am not really in much of a party mood."
"Why is that? Is something troubling you?"
"No, it's just I rather spend the night with you."
Dominic's eyes filled with surprise, at Angel's response. "Oh, but I canceled the lesson tonight, so that you could enjoy the party."
"No, I didn't mean for us to have a lesson, even though I enjoy them. What I meant was I want to spend sometime with you, without the priorities of lessons. Just us, talking and getting to know each other better."
"So, what would you like to talk about?"
"I don't know. Maybe, what was your childhood like, what are your hobbies, and your interests?"
"Well my childhood was a good one, for the most part. I had loving parents, a roof over my head, and food to eat. I pretty much had a normal childhood, well as normal as one could get for someone who lives beneath an opera house. Everything was fine until my mother died. After that, the father that was so kind to me, became very distant. But he is usually always there for me. My hobbies include drawing, singing, composing, playing music, and haunting an opera house. As for my interests, that includes anything to do with the fine arts and teaching you. Now, what was your childhood like, what are your hobbies, and interests?"
"My childhood was a very privileged one. I had everything I could ever ask for and more. My brother and I were always dragged to parties or big events, were our father was needed. I didn't really like the other rich children. They were all usually too stuffy and bratty. The only friends I really had growing up were Samantha and Philippe. My hobbies are singing, dancing, and acting. My interests are singing on stage and taking voice lessons from you."
"Do you have any more questions for me, Mademoiselle de Chagny?"
Angel giggled at his formalness and then started to think of what to ask him. Then she thought of the perfect question, but was not sure if she wanted to hear the answer. "I do have one. Are you in love with anybody?"
Dominic's eyes got big and said. "Why do you ask that?"
"Well it's just, when I see you, you always have that daydream type of look on your face. You also looked really happy all the time, too."
"I can't lie and say I'm not. Yes, I am in love, but I am not sure she will love me back." Dominic said, as he looked at the ground.
Angel felt kind of hurt and jealous, that Dominic was in love. "So, who is the lucky lady you have fallen for?"
"I'm not sure, if I should tell you."
"Come on, you can tell me." As much as the answer might hurt her, she still wanted to be happy for her friend. She started to fiddle with her dress, in anticipation for his answer.
Dominic took a deep breath and then said. "I think I'm in love with you, Angel."
Angel stopped fiddling with her dress and looked at Dominic.
"Are you serious?" Angel asked, Dominic.
"Yes, I am serious. Angel, I love you!"
Angel squealed in joy and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"You don't even know how long I have waited for you to say that. I love you too!"
Angel and Dominic stayed in their embrace for a while. They finally separated and they looked into each other's eyes. Both lost in their gaze, at each other, didn't even realize that they started to move closer to each other. They both closed their eyes and then they leaned in for a kiss. As their lips touched each other, they enjoyed the sweet taste of each other's lips. Both of their worlds stopped and both of them never wanted the moment to end.
When they parted, they both looked back into each other's eyes and started to laugh lightly.
"You know." Dominic said. "I always wanted my first kiss to be special and you have made it."
Angel blushed and said. "You have also made my first kiss special too."
Dominic got up and held out his hand for Angel. Angel took Dominic's hand and stood up.
"Now, we should probably get you back to that party. Everyone should be missing you."
"Angel, I love you." Dominic said.
"I love you too."
