Hysteria.
Why were they coming?
Red could see three figures yelling at each other from below.
He glanced over to where Kris was sitting quietly. He fumed silently. What happened to the girl who had a bright smile on her face no matter what happened to her?
She got replaced, you moron. Her instead of you.
A finger reached out in front of him and drew on the dirt, tracing letters.
"Don't think about that. It wasn't your fault. It wasn't anyone's."
And then he has to smile bitterly, because of course, even after the whole world had destroyed her very emotions and memories, she was still so forgiving-
And then he could see her shakily take a breath of air. She was gripping the hems of her jacket tightly, like nothing else in the world could give her comfort. But then he could see Leaf.
Leaf held her hand in comfort.
He lifted up his head from the ground. He gripped his Pokeball.
If no one else was going to remember Leaf and Kris, then he would take all responsibility. He would protect them. He would save them if no one would.
He took a deep breath and adjusted his cap.
He snarled.
He was going to protect the memory of them.
He was going to defeat the three of them. And he knew, from the looks on Kris's face, that she never wanted to see them again. Leaf was glaring at the figures below for laughing. For being so loud. For being there. For replacing her. For everything!
If the immortal had emotions, so be it. It was better than letting another one lose theirs. And it was better than losing one to emotions themselves.
