Ba-BAM! Next chapter of Crossing Through Space: Flyer's Book is UP! Who's excited?

Still no reviews huh? Meh, now yer just bein' mean! *sticks tongue out at readers* Y'all just don't want to admit that you missed me! Well, I'lla go first then! I MISSED YOU GUYS AND GALS!

Wow. *taps ear* I think I busted my own eardrums! COOL! *wince* Yeah, maybe I should just move on with the Author's Note and story... *another wince*

Summery: Knights has once again been kidnapped. Not only that, but once more she's thought to be Sonic by the kidnapping robot! What's up with people thinking she's Sonic? Why do they think that? Why did she ask the robot if it knew who she was nineteen times? Meanwhile, Amy and Bolt arrive on the East Eastern Islands, and they witness Knights' kidnapping before following Sonic and Shadow, who are racing after the robot and Knights. Will they make it? Why did Knights make the robot lose its mind? One last thing… why is China randomly watching all this?

Wait… CHINA!? When did she get here? Hold on a pea-pickin' minute! What's goin' on?

Chapter Twelve: When Bats Go Rouge

"Ouch!"

Knights gasped as her back hit the solidness that was the boulder she was thrown into. Why was she thrown into a boulder, you ask? Well, you see, she might have short-circuited the robot that kidnapped her with endless questions (well, nineteen) asking if it knew who she was. After nineteen answers of 'Sonic the Hedgehog' she finally told it she wasn't Sonic. Of course, this didn't go over very well with the robot, and it threw her into a boulder in a rage.

So, where were we? Oh yes.

Knights shook her head, placing a hand behind said head and feeling something wet. Pulling her hand back, she noticed it was slick with blood.

Great. Just great. Now I'm bleeding. What's next? A rock falls out of the sky and crushes- HOLY SHIT!

Knights lounged to the left as a rock did in fact fall out of the sky and attempt to crush her. She scrambled around, one leg stuck out, one curved up, and stared at the rock that nearly ended her life.

Great Chaos! Okay, no more temping Fate. It never gives me a break, Knights decided, getting to her feet. Hold on… where's the mech?

She looked around, but something was wrong with her eyesight. It looked like the blow to the head was worse then she thought. She couldn't see properly. Not good. Well, at least she still had her hearing, right?

"Okay," Knights murmured aloud. "Now, where are you hiding?" she kept still, long wolf ears pricked for even the slightest sound of movement. Thankfully, mechs here were pretty loud, at least this one was. "Above me, two o'clock." she waited till she heard the rushing of wind that signaled the mech charging her.

Knights leaped straight up, then power-stomped straight down, effectively crushing the mech into the ground. Unfortunately, however, it didn't destroy it, and the mech whizzed loudly as it freed itself from the earth. With Knights still on its back.

"Whoa!" Knights wrapped her arms around the mech's neck and shut her eyes, seeing as they were no use at the moment. The mech seemed to realize she was there, and tried to buck her off. Legs flying everywhere, Knights tried to steady herself. If she didn't manage that, she would have more then her legs flying- her entire being would sail through the air and hit something.

"Whoa!" Knights repeated. "Down boy! Thing! It!"

How was she going to get out of this one?

Amy ran as fast as her legs would take her, Bolt zipping between the trees just ahead of her.

"Sonic! Shadow! Wait!" she called out, spotting movement a ways ahead. She picked up the pace slightly, and in her rush, she didn't notice that someone was standing in front of her.

"Yowch!" Amy yelped as she collided with the person. "Sorry about that- Knuckles?"

"Amy? What are you doing here?" the male echidna asked, helping the pink hedgehog to her feet.

"Looking for you guys!" Amy replied, taking notice of Tails, Rouge, Shadow, and Sonic. There were two others that she didn't recognize. "There's a big problem, and I need your help!" she tried to explain.

"Well, it will have to wait. We're a bit busy with chasing down a runaway mech," one of the strangers said. Amy blinked as she realized that the speaker was a female echidna with light red fur with black tipped quills.

"You mean the robot carrying off the purple hedgehog?" Amy checked.

"Yes! Did you see which way it went?" a vixen practically lounged at Amy, silver eyes wide with hope.

"Flyer, calm down. Its not the first time Knights' been kidnapped. Probably somewhere around the tenth or twentieth," the echidna told the fox, pulling her back.

"How is that suppose to make me feel better?" the vixen, Flyer, asked.

"How am I suppose to know that? I'm not the one with a younger sibling here," the echidna snorted.

Amy blinked at the two again, once more noticing something key: the vixen had two tails.

"Anyway," Tails said, stepping forwards. "What's wrong, Amy?"

"Oh! A friend of mine -Lucky- was kidnapped by Eggman three days ago. This is her Chao, Bolt. He's been helping me look for her, but even if we find her, we'll need help to free her. Eggman won't let her go easily, and he'll probably have tight security around her," Amy explained all this in a single breath.

"So? Dr. Robotnik isn't that hard to defeat. You don't need any help," Shadow said, crossing his arms.

"No- you don't understand! He might do something crazy to keep Lucky! Or worse- he'll kill her!" Amy nearly shouted, she was so terrified of the thought.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Time out," Sonic waved his arms around. "Amy, what are you talking about? Why would Eggman want this Lucky person so much?"

"Because she's not just a person! She's a nine-year-old coyote pup with the powers of Chaos that's had at least ten lives! She's the greatest, most ancient, most powerful, most… most… urgh! She's the Power Source!" Amy finally shouted, tugging at her quills in frustration. Why were they all standing around here talking about this? They had to save Lucky!

"What?" Knuckles nearly fell over in shock. "The Power Source? Amy, are you sure? The Power Source has been lost for centuries!"

"Of course I am! Eggman himself has been looking for the Power Source for years! He finally found it when Lucky showed up in Station Square! She didn't know she was the Power Source until Eggman attacked us! But then she went into a mental breakdown, and made a shield of water and lightning around her, and no one could get close to her!

"So Eggman called China -and she didn't sound very happy about it. Yelled at him for a moment before he told her he found the Power Source and that it was Lucky, who's really a pup from the ancient past. She belonged to a Tribe that sang Songs and worshiped Chaos. He made China sing three of the Songs -the Water Song, the Lightning Song, and the Old Song. Lucky started singing the Little Song, and then the shield vanished and it released her.

"But then Eggman abducted her! He captured her before Cream, Cheese, Bolt, and I could get to her! Then he tried to blow up Station Square, but Lucky stopped him with her powers of water, just before disappearing into his Egg Carrier Mark whatever! After that, he set course this way, and Bolt and I followed him."

Amy gasped for breath after finishing, feeling as if she'd just run a marathon. "And that's not all," she continued.

"Its not?" Rouge asked, looking as shocked as the rest when they heard Amy's story.

"No! Look!" Amy dug the gray Chaos Fragment out of a pocket in her dress and held it up to show the others. "Lucky had a fragment of the gray Chaos Emerald. I don't know if it fell off her neck, or she dropped it purposely, but if Eggman had gotten it…"

"Then he'd not only have the Power Source -Lucky," Knuckles amended when Amy shot him a reproachful look. "Then he'd have a Chaos Fragment. A piece of a Chaos Emerald."

"Holy Chaos," Tails' eyes widened. "If Eggman has her, then who knows what he'll do to her!" he shuddered at the thought of this Lucky having to endure any of the tortures he did.

"Then we'll have to save her," Flyer piped up. Everyone present stared at her.

"Sugar, you're a Psymorian. You don't have to help this girl -its not your planet at stake," Rouge said, taking a step closer to Amy without anyone noticing.

"So?" Flyer's eyes hardened with determination. "We're stuck here until we get the last Angel Diamonds -and that might not be enough to send us home. I don't think it matters where I came from, just that I help. What about you, Knekelda?"

"Flyer's right," Knekelda agreed, nodding her head. "We may never get home, as much as I hate to admit it. Might as well not loose our possibly permanent residence."

"So its agreed?" Sonic asked, looking around. Everyone nodded. "Then we'll save this Lucky."

"Uh, guys?" Tails looked as if he'd just remembered he left the stove on. "We forgot about Knights."

China sat with her elbows on her knees as she watched Knights finally steady herself on the bucking robot's back.

The black and brown masked cat narrowed her green eyes as Knights used the robot's back as a spring and back-flipped off it. The hedgehog landed on her feet, even with her eyes closed. She flipped her ears up and listened as the robot whirred, turning around. It charged at her again, and Knights side-stepped, pulling a classic.

She stuck out her foot and let the robot trip over it.

China snickered silently to herself. She'd forgotten how much fun it was to watch people fight! Even if the thing they were fighting was one of her boss' machines.

Actually, that's more fun, China grinned, feline eyes flashing in the sunlight. She nodded as Knights spin-dashed the robot from behind, slicing it in half.

"Not bad," China murmured in a voice barely classifying as a whisper. "But then, I expected nothing less from a former enemy of the Boss'."

Yes, China had finally found out who it was that Eggman had also been fighting all those years ago. She had searched every file she could find without alerting Eggman to her search, and finally, finally, found a file named XL2590, aka Knights the Hedgehog. It had gone on about his first meeting with her, and his accidentally calling her of Sonic.

Not that that changed, China had thought. She read the file, quite surprised by her findings. Of course, she made sure no evidence of her discovery was left behind, and promised herself to go back to the file to finish reading whenever she could.

So when China found out that Knights and the other members of the Sky Fox were in the East Eastern Islands as well, she, naturally, had to see if Knights lived up to the tale. She sent the robot that was to capture the Angel Diamond to kidnap Knights and think she was Sonic. If Knights was smart, as she indeed proved, she would short-circuit the robot by asking it over and over if she was Sonic and agreeing with it until all that was left was to say 'no'.

Knights had lived up to the hype, and done just what she had to do. Even injured, she didn't falter.

In current news though, Knights was absorbing the Diamond the robot had in its cargo hatch and then sat down on its remains. The purple hedgehog sat facing the way they'd come, waiting.

China knew what, or rather, who, she was waiting for. Sonic. All the files agreed on one thing; Knights could never pass up a chance to mess with Sonic. She'd often shoot rebukes at the blue hedgehog, according to the files at least.

As if on cue, said hedgehog appeared, though he wasn't the first. The first was that bat, Rouge. She was flying ahead of the others, who looked none-to-happy. She landed in front of Knights, and China strained her ears to hear what they were saying.

"-about time you got here. Its been what, thirty minutes since my kidnapping? I would have thought you were snails, you moved so slow," Knights criticized.

"Sorry about that, Knights," Rouge said smoothly. "We got a little caught up…sightseeing." the bat held out her hand and China's jaw nearly dropped.

How in Chaos did they find the Chaos Fragment? she wondered, staring intently at the shard of gray gem. The Power Source must have dropped it. Speaking of whom. I better get going. Boss wanted me to check on 'er.

China turned around, leaving the intergalactic species and other Mobians behind.

But if she looked back, she would have seen the look of horror on Sonic's face when Knights grabbed the shard…

Back on the ground, just before Knights took the shard, Rouge was showing it to said Knights.

"Isn't it a beauty?" she asked.

"Uh, yeah," Knights agreed, leaning away from the now pulsing gem shard. Her head was starting to ache, and it had nothing to do with her head wound.

"Strange that its pulsing like this though," Rouge went on. "It shouldn't do that."

"You don't say," Knights said, not really paying attention. She knew quite well why it was pulsing like that. Like it was mad. Angry.

"ROUGE!" the voice of Amy Rose burst through the air. "GIVE ME THAT CHAOS FRAGMENT!"

Both females looked behind Rouge at the fuming pink hedgehog. Her hammer was out, and she looked ready to use it. The yellow Chao seemed equally upset, its strange mote in the shape of a tiny fire (which was odd, as Chao didn't have that mote-motion).

"Its not yours?" Knights asked casually, which was hard since her muscles were screaming to run.

"Technically," Rouge said. "It doesn't belong to anyone, at the moment."

"Give her the Fragment, Rouge," Knights said. "Its not yours."

"But-" Rouge started. But Knights wasn't in the mood to listen to the thief's excuses.

"I said," Knights repeated in a quieter voice, "to give her the Fragment back, Rouge." Knights glared at the bat, her ears shoved forwards with aggression and quills flared out. Her fists had balled by her sides, and her fur was starting to rise.

Rouge shivered. She had once seen a pack of feral wolves fight another pack. They looked very much like Knights did right now. Add to that fact that Knights was standing in front of a destroyed heap of robot with some dried blood on her hand, and she looked truly terrifying.

Knights was dead serious. She would take the Fragment by force if Rouge didn't agree, and the thief knew it.

It was the first time the comet had shown any hostility towards a Mobian, and Rouge wondered if Knights knew it would be her, Rouge, to push the wolf too far. After all, Rouge had been the first to notice her wolfish canines.

Feeling numb, Rouge held out the Chaos Fragment for the hedgehog-wolf. Knights' eyes flickered with something that resembled fear, but she took the shard in her hand.

And promptly screamed in pain.

Dun-dun-DUN!

Holy Chaos, ya'll! Somethin's happenin' to Knights! What could it be? Why would Sonic be horrified at Knights grabbing the Chaos Fragment? Why did Knights scream? Why did she silently threaten Rouge? Did she know Rouge would be the one to push her too far?

Where did China go? Where's Eggman keeping Lucky? Did she really drop the Chaos Fragment? Or did it fall by accident? How did China know about it? What's she up to?

Will we get answers in… Chapter Thirteen: Chaos Energy Gone Knights?
