Chapter 13
They sat in the car in silence, not addressing what Deeks had said. Callen and Sam have known about those two for a while, they all have, but hearing Deeks confirm it was a whole different situation. Besides, this rescue attempt wasn't just disappointing to Deeks. To Callen, Kensi is a sister. Someone who's been there for a lot. Someone who he's not afraid to joke with. Someone who he feels the utmost need to protect. To Sam, Kensi is a best friend. She, too, has been through a lot with Sam. She's babysat his kid, went to his daughter's birthday party, and came over for dinner often. His daughter calls her "Aunt Kensi" and that is something that means a lot to him. If these two were to loose her, they wouldn't be able to function. They wouldn't be able to help Deeks, or each other, because they would be so devastated themselves. They were all in a haze thinking about Kensi. They had no idea where she was, what she was going through, if she is even alive.
Suddenly Callen's phone rang, "Nell! Please tell me you've got something, the warehouse was a bust."
"Ryan Johnson has a house on the city line that is up on a hill, secluded from the rest of the street. My guess is, if someone was being tortured..."
"No one would hear" Deeks finished.
"Right. I sent the address to your phones."
"You up for this Deeks" Sam asked hesitantly
"Let's get our girl back" he said in return.
Kensi's head hit the floor, hard. Blood was streaming from one cheek to the other, she could taste it.
"Had enough" the man said.
"Nah, I'm having fun"
"Where is your ops center?"
"Here I thought you were hurting me to get to Deeks" she said spitting blood on the ground. She heard the sound of a chair scraping the floor. The man stood just outside the light, put a chair down and sat.
"That was plan A. Get the girl he loves and torture her to get answers from him. But he was supposed to be here with you, and we have no way of finding him. Since he joined NCIS, he's a hard man to track down."
"So you want to find the ops center to find Deeks?"
"You ain't so dumb after all. Now, where is your ops center?"
"Hell" she said looking at the man's leg. There was a third degree burn scar on his left ankle.
"Got that in Afghanistan" The man said noticing her stare.
"You served?"
"Until Potter told me I could make triple the amount. Gotta pay the bills. But the marines taught me some pretty good interrogation skills."
With that Kensi's chair was lifted upright but immediately tilted back.
"DEEKS! CALLEN! SAM! GET THERE QUICK" They heard Eric yell over the coms.
"What's the matter" Deeks sat up
"They're...HURRY"
Sam sped up "What are they doing to her?"
"Water boarding"
Sam sped up more, "We're two minutes out"
She couldn't breath, couldn't see, and couldn't scream. She tried to gasp for hair but it made it worse. The water entered her mouth, her nose, some trickled into her ears. She wanted to scream, claw her ways out of this torture. She was lunged forward and she hit the floor hard, again.
"Where oh where is the ops center? I don't even think you could stand water boarding."
"I can't stand it, but I would rather be tortured, bleed to death, suffocate then tell any of you where it is. The people inside are my friends. I would rather die than give them up."
"No. You'll give it up. Eventually" she heard him step forward.
She felt a head rush as they started again. She tried to hold her breath, stop moving so that water wouldn't get in, but it came into her nose, made her cough and in an instant she couldn't breathe. Her lungs were on fire; her sensed started to grow weak. She was giving up, letting the pain consume her.
'Just suffer' she thought 'Just suffer, so that those who you love can survive.'
"Had enough" she heard him yell as he stopped pouring the water.
"I though I told you" she said hoarsely and barely audible "I'm having fun"
"You're a tough bitch, I'll give you that. But you're loyalty..." he said as he bent down to his lips brushed her ear "is it worth you death?" he whispered.
Another round, the fire burning hotter. The water seemed thicker and heavier. She wanted to die.
'Just suffer. Just suffer. Just suffer. Just let me die.'
The man stopped and said nothing. She heard a muffled noise, like a siren. As she heard the door open, the siren was distinct. Three loud beeps. As the door closed the man untied her legs and tried to get her up.
"Let's go!" she was being dragged, and she couldn't breath. The light was turned out and as she was being pulled through a back door she looked at the red light. The small sphere of red that symbolized her hope. She kept looking at it, until, suddenly, as her body hit the floor, it was gone.
SO sorry for the long wait. But it's summer so I should be able to finish this soon! Thanks for your patience- Tori. P.S. if you have any suggestions or things you want to see happen, leave a comment! I read all of them!
