Zero's POV
As I walked through another sandstorm I couldn't help but feel deja-vu. It was if I was returning from the dead once again, but that didn't matter, I pushed on, determined to get back to Ciel.
The swirling sand found its' way into the cracks in my armor as I began the climb up the mountain side. After about an hour of walking from the crash I had begun the climb, but the storm was making it more difficult than it needed to be.
Zero, I think it would be wise to find shelter, there could possibly be a cave nearby I silently agreed, the mere thought of getting out of the storm was enough to motivate me.
It felt like hours until we found something, a small cave entrance, at first I thought it couldn't be more than a small
I ignited one of my wrist's saber, the red light reflected eerily off of the cave's walls. As I walked farther in the more of the walls turned into metal. All too soon I was confronted with a wall of metal.
I shrugged Guess that's the end of the line. "Yea." I looked around for any other alternatives, but only found a computer port with a small scanner, I ran my hands over the keys, but nothing happened. "Yea, this place is dead."
Suddenly the metal doors began to open with the sound of grinding metal filling the air. I looked inside cautiously, but it was simply an ancient lab. The damage and corrosion was minute compared to the last laboratory, I walked over to one of the more preserved computers and picked up a few papers. They appeared to be sketches of robotics, highly advanced robotics.
As I examined them a light flickered on, then another and another. Soon the entire ab was lit with light. Deactivating my blade I looked at what the light had revealed form the darkness. A vertical tube sat in the middle of the room, it was clear and had wires coming from both ends, old blue paint could be seen chipping from both ends as well.
I walked up to it and image began to flicker, it appeared and reappeared over and over again as if a piece of machinery that had not started in a very long time. As the image flickered it stayed for a longer time until I could make out a pure image.
It was of a short, slim and balding man who donned a lab coat and a broad mustache. We watched each other for a few moments until I spoke "Who are you?"
The figure raised a hand to his chin and sighed "You are quite a masterpiece." It said back. I raised an eyebrow "So you finally came, I was beginning to think I couldn't get you here, at least not in the proper amount of time." He said in a thick accent
I was growing confused "Um, who are you exactly?" I asked again. He smirked "C'mon Zero, we're old friends you and I, we see each other in our dreams." Then I realized "Masterpiece, find me, you're the man from my dreams!"
The image nodded "At least a construct of him." His image flickered for a moment, instead of a short balding man an image of a slightly taller bearded man took shape, but as soon as that happened the image flickered back to the former figure.
I looked at him, he could hopefully tell me about my history, about myself "How exactly do you know me?" I asked. The figure scoffed "I built you."
I stepped back "Y…you built me?" He nodded, I looked up at him wide eyed "I have so many questions." The figured sighed "I'm sure you do, when I built you, for what purpose, where have I been, well let's start with the first one, you were built in the early twenty first century, which is amazing seeing you've stood up to the punishment of your body for so long."
I was about to ask why he had built me but he had beat me to it. "As for why I built you, it was simple, you were meant to crush me rival, and you did just that."
I raised an eyebrow "O yes, you didn't just kill what my rival's robot, no you destroyed the old man's entire labs, it was so beautiful, after all the times he spoiled my plans, I simple waltzed into his base with you and you did the rest, it was glorious."
"But why did you seal me away then?" I asked, I didn't like where this guy was going. He remained calm "You were unstable, uncontrollable, we had to create something that could control you, so we made a virus, like an electric collar, if only you could have been reasonably, we could have ruled the world." He sighed.
"So, I'm just a tool in a world domination scheme, is that it?" I asked, and was beginning to swell within me. The man shook his head "No, you were the endgame, my masterpiece, my life's work, when I found out Light was building X after the whole incident and that he would not be ready for years till after our deaths I decided you could face him, you are more than a tool, you are my legacy."
I glared at him, I was nothing but the outcome of a rivalry. The image once again shifted, but once it returned to the original figure he spoke "You know, I've been watching you," "That's a little creepy." I retorted.
He smirked "I've watched as you've spent you whole life defending the humans, don't you think some things were just too good, like Harpuia finding you in the desert, or you're run ins with the Mother Elf, you don't think they're a little too good?"
I glared "What are you saying, that you set all those up?" He laughed in response "I'm everywhere, I'm plugged into all the networks, all the computers, I'm a practically a virus, I can do anything." I scoffed "Yea right, I don't have time for this." I began walking out, but he called out "I don't think you want to go back to Neo Arcadia."
I turned "And why not?" I asked with annoyance laced in my voice. "Because you would be risking the fate of the world."
I turned around fully and looked him directly in the eye. "And why?" he shuffled his feet, "An old friend is back and he needs you for his plans."
I walked back towards the tube "He needs me?" I asked, the man crossed his arms trying to regain his composure "Yes, you are the key to his plans." I crossed my arms as well "Who is it?"
"Weil."
Anger rose up in me, I defeated him, I sacrificed myself to do it and he should be dead. "How do you know?" He laughed "Didn't I just explain it, I'm everywhere."
"Then help me, tell me what he's planning" I asked, if I was going to have to face Weil again I would be prepared, I wouldn't let him come that close to destroying the world again. The figure shrugged "The same plot as always, enslave the reploids, then destroy the world, but this time he needs you."
"Yea, you told me, why would he need me?" I asked slightly annoyed, this guy was unbelievable, how could this be the man who built me? The figure rubbed his chin "C'mon Zero, even you should be able to figure it out, what doesn't he have that he had last time, perhaps an original something?" the figure said with a taunting voice.
I rolled my eyes "My original body, Omega." The figure nodded "Exactly, that is why you must not go back." He said.
I shook my head "I'm going, and you can't stop me!" He laughed "I built you, I can do much more than you think." I pondered my options "I don't see what's different this time than the last times I fought Weil."
The figure frowned "What if I told you he had in his possession a weapon more powerful than you original body?" I scoffed "It's the resolve of the man, not his power, how many times have I defeated much more 'powerful' enemies than myself?"
The figure stroked with the end of his mustache "I guess you have a point, but none the less you need better weapons, over there." He pointed to the far end of the room and a panel of the wall slid open, as I walked over I finally recognized what it was.
Picking it up I examined the craftsmanship of the sword, unlike my Z-sabers it had a standard broadsword design to it, it was around four feet long and an engraved Z was on its' hilt. I pulled the blade from the sheath and examined it, unlike my Z-sabers it had a permanent blade, a faint green glow emanated from the blade itself.
"What is this?" I asked, the figure must have been smiling behind me "An upgraded Z-Saber, it needed a permanent blade to be able to control such power." I glanced at it before strapping it to my back. "And one more thing." He spoke up.
I turned and glared at him "Yea?" "This" he said while pointing to a small rectangular box near him, "It was the last thing I worked on for you before I died, it was a build off of my rivals, but it holds great power, activate it when you meat Weil."
I picked it up, but was unsure what to do with it. "It seals magnetically, but put it on your back." He suggested. I rolled my eyes before beginning to walk out "Happy hunting." He called, but I turned back to him "I didn't get you name." I said.
"It's Wily, Dr. Wily."
AND THE PLOT, thins? Nah, it defiantly got more complicated, but that was fast, but here it is. As much as it pains me to say it, the end is near. Hopefully we can break 25k, but I don't know. I will go back and extend/fix the earlier chapters but that might be awhile, it would be awesome if you guys could review it would help a lot. Until next time.
