Chapter 12 Your Ohana

Present

The next morning Kevin and Vilgax stood around the Tennyson-green marble kitchen island, each of them amusing freshly diapered and fed cooing babies while Ben busied himself at the stove making breakfast for the three of them.

They both glanced over at their Mate when Ben winced, his long, slender fingers twitching toward his own chest for a brief moment before he noticeably stopped himself from touching and returned his attention to the cooking food.

"Is something the matter, Ben love?" Vilgax inquired in obvious concern, bouncing little 'Xina gently in his strong arms as his red eyes fixed themselves on the younger of his two beautiful, human lovers intensely.

"I- My nipples are sore," Ben confessed, his face flushing light pink as he answered him without turning his attention away from the hot stove. "The babies are.. a bit rough when they are hungry. It's nothing, really. Normally I don't mind it when they ache, because I know that you two did it to me. Because of our love and passion for each other. It's still a nice, comforting experience to give our babies sustenance, of course. But when it's for the babies, I don't get hard just from feeling them ache throughout the day. I like that part of it a lot. It.. makes me happy. That feeling, it just makes me all warm inside. Not just my.. crotch, but my heart as well. It's not easy to explain or define these types of feelings, but.. Well, that's the best that I can do."

Vilgax and Kevin both stared at Ben now, their mouths hanging open in shock at his explanation.

"Ben, I-" Kevin began, his dark eyes almost glowing with his clear intensity as he gazed upon Ben while rocking sweet little Cori in his arms gently. "That was beautiful, sweetheart."

"It was, yes," Vilgax agreed with him, watching Ben intently as well as he began to serve up the steaming food onto three plates and moving them to the island before gathering forks for them and pouring three big glasses or orange juice. "The way that you manage to describe things is beautiful, Beloved. I must confess the way that your mind works fascinates me so. You are like a gorgeous puzzle that I will most likely never be able to fit together completely in my mind, but I love you for it. For being uniquely you and different, love, you are perfect, just the way you are. Always."

Flashback to the night after the wedding

Julie sat next to Vilarion in her little red car, feeling bad that the large alien male had to hunch forward slightly in a way that looked distinctly uncomfortable just so that his head wasn't squashed against the vehicle's roof as they sat together at the drive-in waiting for the movie to begin.

"This isn't working, Vilarion," she finally announced abruptly, clearly jolting him out of his thoughts and causing him to turn suddenly wide, alarmed blood-red eyes in her direction.

"What? What do you mean, Julie?" he asked her quietly, obviously upset by her casual words, making her realize how they must have sounded to him.

"Uh, sorry," she said, reaching over to touch his big, green right hand with her much smaller left one gently, wanting, no, needing to reassure him. "I just mean that, well.. My car just isn't big enough for you to be comfortable during the movie. I have a couple large, nice warm blankets in my trunk. Why don't we get out and lay on top of the car together under the stars?"

"Oh," Vilarion replied, obviously relieved, nodding in quick response to the question. "Yes, please, Julie. That sounds wonderful. I mean, uh, your vehicle is nice, but.. I am rather large, so it is.. cramped for me."

"Yes, I noticed," she said with a brief grin. "Come on. I'll get the blankets out, then."

They got out together, Julie opening the trunk with her keys to grab a blanket. She spread it out over the top of the car before grabbing a second one and closing and relocking the trunk.

Vilarion watched her place her car keys back in the pocket of her shorts, briefly admiring her long bare, slender legs and nicely rounded backside as she climbed up onto her car.

He was thinking that she must be a bit cold in those shorts and tank top now that they were outside the car, as it was a bit chilly, when she gestured with her elegant, tiny fingers for him to follow her up.

"Come here, Vilarion. It's cold out here tonight. Let's get under the blanket."

"Mmm," he hummed in agreement, crawling up beside her eagerly now, smiling as he assisted her to drape the warm, fuzzy blanket over their bodies. "I will warm you, sweetheart."

Julie blushed a little, but she didn't protest his somewhat forward statement, even snuggling in close against his side and laying her head on his shoulder when they reclined down onto their backs together just as the movie began finally.

At first Vilarion was appalled by the story about the little blue creature from outer space on the run from his own kind befriending the strange, young Hawaiian girl, but by the end he was actually sniffling a bit as Stitch found his home on Earth with his new human family.

"Vilarion?" Julie asked him softly when she noticed his unusual tears somehow even in the darkness. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, I- I am fine, Julie. It is just that.." he admitted a bit sadly, his slightly damp red eyes meeting hers now. "I have never had a family. Not like this Stitch has. Not a real one."

"Well, you do now," she said firmly, her beautiful, dark chocolate eyes clearly determined to make him happy. "You have Vilgax, Ben, Kevin, 'Xina and Cori. You have Gwen and Layla. And you have me. Julie Yamamoto. We are your Ohana."

Then she kissed him full on the mouth.

Present

"So, Kevin," Ben inquired after the twins had been put to bed for their usual after lunch nap. "What was it that you said you had to tell us last night?"

The three of them were sitting snuggled on the large couch together in the living room watching The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

"Uh, well.." Kevin replied, rubbing his hand over the back of his own neck with clear nerves now. "It's not so much tell, as it is ask. I- Um.."

"What is it, Kevin?" Vilgax asked him, placing a big, gentle hand on his right shoulder since Vilgax sat between them on the couch.

"Well, it's been a while ago now, but.." he sighed, smiling a bit when he took a small bundle wrapped in soft, dark blue velvet from his pocket carefully. "It's taken me a while, but one of Gwen's conditions for marrying me was that I purchase rings for the both of you as well. She thought it only fair. I hope that you'll accept them?"

"Oh, Kevin!" Ben gasped softly, his emerald green eyes widening, awe and joy transforming his beautiful, tired face. "Of course we will! Ohh, this is so exciting!"

"They're only rings, Ben," Kevin said, though he was smiling at him with a tender expression.

"No, Kevin," Ben answered him seriously now. "They are symbols. Symbols of your love for us. And our love for you."

Kevin flushed noticeably at his words, but he unwrapped the rings, lifting a sterling silver ring, set with alternating emerald and onyx stones, slipping it slowly onto the ring finger of Ben's outstretched hand.

"Thank you, Kevin," Ben smiled, leaning in for a warm, gentle kiss on the lips. "It's beautiful. I love you."

"You're welcome, Ben. I love you, too."

He kissed Ben's lips again softly before turning to Vilgax, presenting him with a golden-toned ring that was set with alternating rubies and onyx stones. He placed it on Vilgax's ring finger, obviously surprising the large alien male when he then reached for his big hand with both of his.

He closed his eyes as he leaned in closer to him, his long black lashes fluttering visibly as he pressed his warm lips to the green, smooth-skinned back of Vilgax's hand in a tender, clearly emotional kiss.

Flashback to the night after the wedding

Vilarion stilled with shock as Julie kissed him so intimately, but he soon relaxed when she then rolled onto her side and reached for his hands, her fingers clinging to him tightly, reassuringly. Then she drew back, smiling at him with intense warmth and compassion filling her dark chocolate eyes.

"Julie-"

"Shhh. It's alright. I understand, Vilarion. You've never really felt safe, loved, where you're from, have you? But you're here now, I love you, and you're safe with me. I promise."

"Julie! I- Julie," he finally sighed, clearly at a loss as to what to say in response to such a powerful and unpleasant truth about his past.

How she had guessed..

Well, he supposed his behavior around her was a little more revealing then around anyone else.

Because he trusted her. With everything.

"Vilarion?"

"Yes, Julie?" he asked, his low voice shaken and uncertain for the first time that he could remember. Ever.

"Let's go to where I live. I think that you should meet my parents."
