Flashback...
Naru left Mai's room and headed for his own, he laid down with thoughts of a certain brunette in his mind and without realizing it had dose off. The both of them dreaming about the other, unaware that in England, a certain woman who goes by the name of Luella Davis would be making an appearance.

While Mai and Naru were sitting by the tree...
In England, Martin had just left to go to work, leaving Luella pacing around the room waiting for either Lin or Madoka's call. She was really worried since this is the first neither Madoka nor Lin called her to inform her on what happened. They would usually call after every case, it doesn't take them longer than four days to finish a case since it was protocol for them to call if there was a chance the case would be extended and they orders to abandon the case if it turns dangerous for the team and would request for back up. There would be times that only one of them could report back which was fine but this was a first to not hear from one of them.
When Martin arrived home, he saw Luella doing the same thing since he left. He sighed, while looking at his frantic wife, "Luella, stop pacing around. They might just be doing something and forgot to call you, after all Koujo is still new at being Mai's guardian and would want to be with his family considering it has been a while since he last took an off from work. Knowing how Madoka is at times, she won't leave Koujo's side for the moment."
"I know, I know? I shouldn't worry since they are there and would call if the need for help arises. But I can't stop thinking that something might have happened and this isn't the first time they were delayed in calling." Luella said biting her lips in worry.
Martin went to his wife and took her into his arms, "Come on, we should head to bed its already quite late. They might have thought that it is best to tell as in the morning." He suggested to Luella, which made the woman relaxed for the time being.
Luella looked at her phone, "Maybe you are right, that they would call tomorrow morning." Though she was thinking along the lines that if she still haven't receive a call by morning she'll take matters into her own hands and would head to Hong Kong herself and no one was going to stop her.

Back in the Lin Compound, both Madoka and Lin were feeling as though they have forgotten to do something. The both of them just chucked it off as a result of their lack of sleep. It might not be of great importance anyway, since if it were they will not forget about it. There is no need to worry for now considering it was not life threatening or otherwise and they went to do other things. The both of them made the worst mistake in their life, after all there is nothing worse than getting in the way of a worried mother. All hell would break lose once they remembered exactly what they've forgotten. Most of all if the woman in question is named, Luella Davis.

The next day in England, Luella woke up alone in bed without any sign of her husband. She looked around and saw a note on the bed side table, looking at the note she saw that it was from Martin.
Luella,
Something urgent happened at the office and I needed to check it out as soon as possible. I didn't wake you up, since it was still a bit early and decided to leave this note. I'm not sure how long I will take, so you just have to eat breakfast without me. I'll try to be back before lunch.
Martin
Luella looked at the clock and saw that it was half past nine, she then headed downstairs to eat a late breakfast. After eating, she went and checked her phone to see if she missed any calls from either Lin or Madoka. When she saw there was none she tried to remain calm and thought that Martin had answered it instead. Her worry was back tenfold when she realized that Martin would have written it on the note, though she still looked through her call log just in case Martin forgot in his rush to head to work. Just the same, there was none. She looked at the clock and decided to call them herself since it was possible they forgotten and took this time to enjoy themselves which she didn't mind since they did work hard and deserve a break. She first tried calling Madoka then Lin but neither of the two answered. She didn't react at first since it was possible they were in an out of coverage area, so she tried to call them again three times but to no avail. Luella finally had enough and began reserving the earliest flight to Hong Kong she could get, with that she began preparing her things. Luella Davis was on a war path and anyone who gets in her would find it detrimental to their health.

Back in Hong Kong, as he was heading to bed, Lin checked his phone to see if he received any calla or messages. He then saw that it was already low on battery and thought that he would just recharge it the next day. As for Madoka, she was conversing with one of her friends all night long and didn't finish until around four in the morning.

Back in England, Martin was in his office, leaning against the back rest of his chair. He looked worse for wear, since it took a lot longer than he expected to solve the problem. When he looked at the clock, he saw that it was already one in the afternoon and thought that it would be best to head back home. Unbeknownst to him, he would be returning to a house that is devoid of his wife's presence.

In the morning, Naru went to Lin and Madoka and asked, "Did mother called either of you to ask about the case."
Lin shook his head, "No, she hasn't called at all. Why? Is there something wrong?"
Naru shook his head with a frown on his face, "Nothing's wrong, it's just that after every case she would be calling me and telling me to be careful whenever I use my powers. As if someone has been informing her on what is going on." Naru narrowed his eyes, as be looked at his guardian and mentor.
Madoka blinked, "Maybe she just forgot to call….." but she suddenly stopped talking when she noticed the suspicious gaze Naru was directing her and Lin. Then realized what was really going on, she and Lin shared a look at each other in dawning horror and in tandem said, "Crap! we're going to be so dead."
"Oh! how the both of you are so right about that." A voice they all knew too well, just washed over them like a bucket of cold water.
Naru was the first to reach, "Mother, what are you doing here?" He asked not quite believing that his mother was in front of him.
"Well, usually either Koujo or Madoka would call me and inform me about your cases. This time the both of them didn't even bother to call me, I was worried sick." She said this while she eyed both Madoka and Lin accusingly. With Naru glaring at the two, now knowing exactly how his mother found out about his excursions.
The both of them looked at Luella with guilty faces, Madoka saying, "Sorry Luella, we forgot. We were enjoying ourselves too much and didn't realize what day it was."
Luella's serious look was replace with her usual cheer, "Oh alright, I'll forgive you this time but I want reports on every case you have or else." Luella threatened the two, with the both of them nodding their heads.
Naru sighed and realized he couldn't exactly blame the two since his mother was quite forceful when she wanted something, turning to Luella he asked, "Mother, is father with you?"
Luella looked at him nervously and with a guilty expression, "Well you see, I was really worried and well..." She trailed off not knowing how to answer her son.
Naru looked at his mother with suspicion in his eyes, "Does he know that you came here in Hong Kong?"
Luella gulped and evaded Naru's gaze, "Umm, well you see."
Naru's eyes widen in realization, "Don't tell me? Please tell me he at least knows about your plan." Luella just looked at her son with a guilty expression. "Mother, how could you? You know perfectly well how he is whenever you are missing." They didn't realize that the rest of the gang had come out after hearing the commotion.
Bou-san was the one to reveal their presence, "What's going on here?"
Luella was glad for the intervention and took that chance to escape her son's questions. "Oh, hello. I am Luella Davis and Noll's mother." She introduced herself to them.
Naru on the other hand had none of it, placing his hand on her shoulder, "Mother we do not have time for this, we need to call father before he does something irrational."
"Naru, what are you talking about? Why are you worried about your father?" Mai asked Naru curiously, since it wasn't always you see him so anxious. Which the others would beg to differ since they always see that expression on his face when a certain assistant of his gets in trouble.
Naru sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, "My mother, here, decided to come here in Hong Kong without bothering to even inform my father where she was going." He sent a glare at Luella which made her flinch and said sorry in a small voice.
"So what's wrong with that? She's an adult not a child. Your father doesn't need to know what or where she's going all the time." Ayako asked with a raised eyebrow directed at Naru.
"That's the problem, whenever mother leaves without informing him. He turns suicidal and does something very dangerous." Naru answered already feeling a head ache.
"Oh come on, as if it's that bad." Bou-san commented not understanding what the fuzz was about.
Madoka answered with a grim look, "Actually it is that bad, I remember when he and Luella fought and she went with me to Paris to shop. At that time the both of them weren't on speaking terms so she didn't bother to inform him and well..." she paused not knowing how to word it.
Naru instead was the one to continue, "He tried to set fire on himself when he didn't find my mother in the house, no note or whatsoever. He thought that something bad bad happened to her."
Everyone had a shocked look on their faces and that was how Lin saw them as he came back from making a call. Turning to Naru, he said, "I have already informed the professor about your mother being here and told him not to worry. Judging from how weak his voice sounded, he was already at his wits end and might have done something drastic if I hadn't called."
Mai was the first one to break from her stupor, "Why would he do that?" She asked them in curiosity, since it wasn't always you heard about a man harming himself if he didn't know where his wife was.
"Actually, we all would like to know as well Naru-bou." Bou -san added with the others nodding in agreement.
Naru sighed, "I think it would be best if you hears this from my mother personally.
They all looked at her, she sighed in resignation knowing she brought this unto herself, "Very well, I will tell you since I think you deserve to know about it. It all started during the time, Martin and I went for our honeymoon. I wanted to head to the top of the mountain to ski down." She paused as though reminiscing the past, "He tried to persuade me not to go, but I didn't listen. He kept on telling me that a storm was coming and I shouldn't continue but I was too stubborn and went on my own and left him behind. Before I knew it, the storm had hit and I can no longer find my way back. I nearly lost my life but it was a good thing I was already close to the top, I managed to reach the ski resort in time to take shelter before the worst of the storm hit."
She stopped to gather her thoughts, "When they began the search party for me, they found me in one of the cottage. Martin rushed to me and gave me a hug, he kept on telling me that if anything had happen to me he won't be able to cope with it. That he would take his own life if something were to happen and was his fault. Well, that's how it all started." She finished with a sad smile and finally noticed Lin's family had joined them as well.
"Oh my, how rude of me. I came barging in here and I haven't even properly introduced myself." She stood up and looked at Houki, "My name is Luella Davis and I am Noll's mother, or as you best know him, Naru. I'm sorry for just coming her without any word of my arrival."
Houki went to Luella and shook her hands, "There is no need to you to apologize there was no harm. It is also an honor to meet you, I am Lin Houki and I am Koujo's mother. We better head to the dining room and continue with the introductions over lunch."
They all headed towards the dining area, introductions were finally made and it ended with Mai, "My name is Lin Mai and I'm honored to meet you Luella-san." Mai said with a bow and a smile on her face.
"Hello as well my dear, it's finally nice to meet the young girl, whom Koujo had adopted." Adding in her mind that Mai was also the girl her son, Noll is smitten to.
When they finished , Houki asked "Since Oliver is allowed to leave in two days time, where are you planning to spend your holidays?" She directed the question to her youngest son and granddaughter.
"Mai and I were planning on spending the holidays with you guys, but I'm not sure with everybody else." Koujo answered looking at Naru.
Luella saw how close Naru was with Mai and began to scheme and play matchmaker to the both of them and some. "Why don't you spend your holidays in England instead, you may stay at our place if that's alright with you?"
Kourin sensed that Luella was scheming something and it has something to do with a certain narcissist and her niece and she wanted to help with the plan. "I think that it would be a great idea, we were planning to take Mai to Italy and spend the holidays there, but I guess there's no harm in changing our itinerary and spend the holidays in England instead."
"Well, I'm glad that you agreed to come." Luella said and she noticed that Naru was about to protest but she wouldn't have any of it, "Noll don't even think about saying no, your team needs to relax once in a while and Mai needs to have time with her family. This would the best way for everyone to spend it. And it would also be the first time you would be coming home for the holidays in a number of years."
Naru sighed, realizing that he can't do anything, "Fine we will go to England for the holidays." Everyone from SPR cheered, not only were they going to spend the holidays in England they would also be with Mai.

When night came and everyone was asleep, Kourin went to Luella, "I know you are planning on hooking Mai with Naru and I would be glad to offer you my help."
Luella smiled, a glint appearing in her eyes, "I'm glad that you approve and that we are seeing eye to eye. Let this be the start of a wonderful friendship.
As Kourin opened her mouth to speak, she was cut off, "Oh no you're not, unless you let us join in with the planning as well." A voice from behind them was heard, when they turned around to see who it was they saw both Madoka and Ayako with grins on their faces. The four women started to plan on ways on how to hook the two up. Mai and Naru won't know what will hit them once they are in England.
