Hi! Sorry for not updating for so long... I was just busy with a lot of stuff. Happy Valentine's day! ;)
Jade's pov
I woke up on Monday morning feeling like a zombie. My head heavy, eyes swollen, it felt like a hangover. I rolled out of my bed and headed to the kitchen to drink some water because my throat was so dry that I wouldn't have managed to say a word. After pouring water to my glass I noticed a note on the table. I came closer and read it. It said: "I left to the supermarket. I'll be back soon. – Karen". I put the note where I'd found it and drank swallowing the cold water. I knew cold water wasn't okay for my throat in condition I was in. But who cares, she's not here yet.
I looked at the clock, it said 10:30. I had no idea what I was going to do the whole day at home. I wasn't used to skipping school. Suddenly, I noticed someone's phone lying on the counter. I hesitated for a moment before taking it into my hands. I unlocked it and understood whose phone it was. It was Karen's. I made a disappointed face and put it back where it was. What could be interesting about Karen's phone? After few seconds a smile spread on my face and I basically ran upstairs to take my phone. I came back and took Karen's phone again. I opened her contacts and found Beck's number which I immediately put into my phone. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it but there where various thoughts in my head already.
'What's up?' After one hour of lying on my bed and thinking I clicked send. That was probably the lamest thing I could think of, but I thought it doesn't matter as he wouldn't know who this message came from.
'Nothing much. Who's asking?' The replay came quicker than I thought it would come.
'Does it even matter?'
'Well… yeah ;D who are you and how did you get my number? ;)'
'Stop with the creepy faces! And I'm not telling you anything.'
'Then, why did you text me? :D'
'Just got bored.'
'You just got bored, found my number out of somewhere and decided to text me? Nice story ;D' I was already regretting texting him. I felt like a looser trying to catch his attention and his stupid questions wasn't helping at all.
'Actually, I picked the random number and decided to send that stupid question people say when they have nothing to say.'
'You mean 'What's up?'
'Yes.'
'You seem quite interesting, darling. What's your name?'
'Why the hell do you think I'm going to tell you my name? And why do you think I'm a girl? I might be a 50 years old pedophile.'
'Most of the people who text me are girls and trust me I know how to recognize them' Anger boiled inside of me. His self-confidence made me hate him so much.
'I'm not like most of girls. And trust me, I don't want anything with you, Beckett.'
'And how is that you know my name? ;) Just guessed?' I probably wasn't even thinking when I texted him. Damn it.
'I do know your name. So what?'
'So that I know yours too! ;D' I went pale. He couldn't know who had texted him, could he? I've never given him my number. I decided to ignore his last message and didn't text anything back. Few minutes later my phone buzzed. It was a text from him. I signed and read it.
'Got you? ;) Feeling bored, Jadelyn? :P' He knew. He knew it was me who he was texting with. I face palmed myself. I felt like a total looser…
'Stop putting these creepy faces.'
':DDD kay.'
'So how did you get my number?'
'Umm. Your mum left her cell phone on the table and I kind of looked there.'
'You sneaked into my mom's phone? To get my number? :D'
'Idiot.' That's how I felt. Like an idiot. I regretted so much texting him. I thought I would just send him few messages and he will never find out who was that.
'I don't mind, actually. I got yours in the same way :D while your dad was taking a shower…' I laughed a little bit. I couldn't believe how easy thinks could go with him. We could just chat about everything and he wouldn't make me annoyed as most guys.
'How are you feeling?' I rolled my eyes at how much he cared about my health.
'Better.'
'Is that a better which means you're feeling better or a better which means stop being so worried?'
'Both.' I actually was feeling slightly better. At least while being in bed.
'Great ;)' He texted back.
I was lying in my bed waiting for anything interesting to happen (that feeling when you're totally alone while being sick and have no one to keep you company). I had been texting with Beck for more than two hours but know he said he had to drive so we both agreed that he shouldn't text me while driving.
"Heeeey" He grinned at me coming inside to my room.
"I just love when people come inside without knocking." I said sarcastically. He came closer to my bed and I noticed that he had something hidden behind his back. "What do you have here?" I asked curiously.
"Close your eyes."
"I'm not going to do that. It's stupid and immature." He rolled his eyes at my stubbornness.
"Come on, you'll like it. I promise."
"Stop it, Beck. I'm not-"
"Just close your eyes, Jade!" He almost raised his voice. I signed but obeyed.
"You better do not propose to me." I joked.
"Great idea, maybe next time my surprise is going to be that. You can open your eyes now." I did as he said and I saw a cup of coffee in his hands and a chocolate. I started laughing. "What's so funny? I know you like coffee, so I thought it would brighten up your mood. Not that sure about the chocolate, though."
"Thanks. It's very nice of you." I said taking coffee from him and tasting it. "How do you know what kind of coffee I like?"
"A little bird told me." He smirked.
"Maybe a little one with bright red hair?" I asked teasingly.
"How do you know?" We both laughed. After a while he spoke again. "Why aren't you eating your chocolate? You don't like it?"
"I do. Just not with the coffee. I'll eat it later." I put it on my nightstand.
"Oh. So how's been the day?"
"Boring. I spend almost the whole day here. It annoys me to stay in bed but when I stand up I feel dizzy so I prefer lying in bed." He kept looking at me for a moment and it made me feel a little bit awkward.
"You're very pretty, you know?" His question made me blush.
"Yeah, especially in this kind of situation. No make-up, hair messy, and eyes like a zombie's."
"No, I mean it. You're really pretty. With our without make-up, in pajamas or in your dark clothes, hair curly or straight." He said the last part caressing my hair and putting some behind my ear. I lowered my eyes and that's probably was why I couldn't prevent what happened next. Or I just didn't want to. Yes, he was kissing me. With his soft lips and both of his palms on my face. I couldn't control my heart's beat anymore. I just hoped he couldn't feel how fast it was beating and how hot my face was. He sneaked his tongue into my mouth and deepened the kiss. It felt different from that kiss when we shared with him being drunk. It was more genuine, more real. Few minutes later we pulled apart to catch our breath. He smiled looking into my eyes, kissed my nose and made himself comfortable next to me wrapping his arms around my waist.
"We shouldn't do this." I said after a while.
"Why not? Didn't you like it?" I did like it. But I was so confused. Where was this leading to? Being a couple? Like boyfriend and girlfriend? I had never had a serious boyfriend before so it felt so weird. I didn't want him to play with my feelings and leave me heartbroken. Not mentioning the situation we're in. Our parents being a couple and we living under the same roof.
"You can get sick too…" I said not having anything better to say. He laughed lightly and tightened this grip on me. I'm not going to lie, I liked how it felt.
"It's worth it." He kissed my cheek. "Besides, what would be wrong about you and I spending days in bed wrapped in each other's hands?"
"Beck…"
"Shh, don't speak. Just feel it." He kissed my cheek and tightened his grip on me again. I may sound totally not like me now, but that's when I felt it. Butterflies. These which people talk about when they're in love. The moment was broken suddenly when we heard a knock behind the door. Beck got out of the bed so swiftly that I barely could understand what was happening.
"Hey. May I come in?" Karen asked coming inside.
"Um, sure." I said. I felt a sudden heat across my face and saw Beck's cheeks were red too.
"I brought you some tea, Jade. Are you feeling better?" Karen asked putting a cup of tea on my nightstand.
"Yeah, I do feel better."
"You seem red, don't you have fever?" She asked.
"No. I'm fine. Beck brought me coffee, so it may be because of it." Karen nodded her head probably believing of my story. I couldn't tell that I was making out with her son about ten minutes ago.
"Beck, have you had dinner already?"
"Um, no. I'm not that hungry." He said running his hand through his hair. I have noticed that he's used to doing it often. Mostly when he's nervous.
"I made some pancakes, let's go." She said dragging him with her. "Jade, do you want me to bring you some?"
"No, thanks. Maybe later."
"Okay, call me if you need anything."
"Kay." With that she left with Beck behind her. He smiled at me quickly before leaving the room and closing the door. I couldn't stop myself from smiling. My life has changed totally in the last month and I was happier than I've ever been.
Hope you liked it :P Reviews are appreciated as always!
P.S. I know people would never text in this kind of formal style, but I have no idea how English people text eatch other, so I wrote it noramally :D
