Alex groaned as he rubbed his temples, trying to will his growing migraine away as he sat on his adopted sisters mothers lap, his back against her hard chest. It seemed like the more she tried to explain his new role the less he understood. Add to that the fact that he was still trying to figure out what had exactly happened to his own body, having had enough time to calm down and actually examine himself and you have the makings of one hell of a headache.
It seemed like each time he awoke something odd always seemed to have happened, each one more strange than the last.
"Come on, it's not that complicated." Balta said as she looked down at him, lightly running her long fingers through his crimson locks.
He gave her a deadpan look. "You're asking me to learn the hierarchy of a zen hive as well as how to direct hundreds of zen with only my mind."
She was silent for a moment. "... Right. Well, one step at a time ok?"
"Ok, what first?"
Shifting her grip to look down at him she said, "As I just told you you're the new king of the zen, the first in fact."
Letting out a small sigh he said, "yes, but what exactly does that mean? Where do you and I stand in the hive and what about future generations? I don't know about you're kind but human males can't produce young like females."
Giggling in amusement she said, "Ah, I see what you mean. Well, For all intents and purposes you are now the center of the hive, all the minds of the zen within that hive are linked to you. You will be in charge of dealing with the hives daily goings on. Mostly stuff like where they should patrol who goes where, who or what they eat and when they sleep. Though I usually let them do as they please with the last two. As for where you and I stand..." She tilts her head in thought, as if she couldn't find the right word for what ever she was trying to say. After a minute she smiled, almost mischievously so and said in a happy voice. "Ah, now I remember. We are more or less equal bonded mates. As you have to run the hive and I have to lay the eggs."
At that moment Alex's brain came to a sudden, and very painful, halt. "B-bonded m-mates?! As in m-marred?!"
"Mhm, that's the human term for it." She said with a small shrug of her smaller arms, pure amusement flowing off each word like a river.
To her utter amusement his face turned almost the same color as his hair as he spluttered and stuttered out. "W-what?! No, I don't even want to be married yet."
"Humans," She said as she picked at his long hair. He had the distinct feeling that if she had eyes she would be rolling them. "I don't even see what the big deal is."
Shifting uncomfortably in the queens grasp Alex said, "Umm, not that I don't appreciate this, but I have lost all feeling in my legs... Can you let me go so I can walk around a bit?"
Still giggling she let him up, watching as he untangled himself from her clutches and stretched. And that was the moment when a feminine voice echoed through the room. "Hello? Mr. Dawson can you hear me?"
Alex jumped a little in surprise at the sudden appearance of a voice that wasn't in his head. Looking around for a moment he said, "Huh, yes I can hear you. Who is this? Where are you?"
For a moment he was worried he was truly going insane, something that wasn't out of the question with all he has been through. A second later the voice said, "Ah, good. I'm standing right outside the door you used to get in there, as for who I am... Well you should already know that, you do have my coat after all."
He blinked in surprise at that. 'Her coat?'
Then he remembered the ID card that had been on the coat he had found earlier. Feeling around the pockets of said coat he soon found it. Holding up the piece of plastic he frowned and said, "Dr. Luna hmm? Tell me, do you try and kill all your guests or am I getting the royal treatment?"
He smiled as he heard a long sigh. "I'm sorry about that. The androids were only doing their job, we keep a lot of dangerous things here."
He scoffed and turned to glare at the door the women he was talking to was supposedly behind. "I thought combat androids were illegal. Besides, what could be so dangerous that you would need them?"
"Well you are in the same room with one of the most dangerous organisms we have here." She replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"So?" He said with a raised eyebrow as he leaned back against one of Balta's large legs, not all that bothered by the slightly slick feeling of her exoskeleton on his back.
There was a long pause before she said, "Listen, can you come out of there so we can talk face to face?"
He couldn't help but chuckle, the zen were the only ones in the last few days that hadn't tried to kill him. Shaking his head with a smile he said, "No. At least in here I know i'm safe. Why don't you come in here?"
He could hear the shock in her voice as she said, "Because i'll be killed by the Queen the moment I set foot in there. Other than you she has tried to kill everyone who has gone in there."
He glanced up at the said queen who simply shrugged at that. "What, they were annoying me."
He had to hold back a bark of laughter this time as he rolled his eyes. "She won't attack you if you don't provoke her. None of them will."
"Oh really? Tell that to the 43 men she has already killed."
He let out a small huff and crossed his arms. "And when did she do this? When she attacked this place with an army or when you invaded her home with yours?"
"Fine, you win. If you say she won't kill me then what the hell."

Dr. Luna Serena Wade had seen and done many things over the years during her employment at weyland yutani. The creation of bio-gel that could help burn victims, an advanced auto-surgeon capable of nearly any surgery, watched the mating habits of the sapphire moon stalkers of the planet epsilon 6 and even helped create a prosthetic arm nearly identical to the real thing. But for all that she had done or seen what she saw when she walked through the door to the queens chamber both confused and intrigued her.
The xenomorph queen, who up to this point had been hostel to anyone or anything that came near her, was now kneeling in the center of the room with a smiling Alex beside her. The red head on his part was looking quite relaxed despite how fast it could kill them both.
The moment the alien queen spotted her it bared its teeth and hissed. Smiling a little wider he patted the large leg again. "Oh calm down, she won't hurt you... Right?"
"R-right." Luna replied, a little freaked out by what was going on.
A low purring filled the room as the queen pressed a little into his touch, still giving her a slight hiss now and then.
Shaking herself out of her shock she said, "Please accept my apology for how you have been treated. You see you are very sick and we have been trying to help you."
He raised an eyebrow and held up an arm to show her his black forearm. "Hmm, I never would've guessed. What was your first clue, the fact my hair grew five feet in six hours or my new accessories?"
She let out a small sigh. This is going to be a long day.
