I'm sorry! Long delay I know! And I know I KEEP saying sorry but I have no excuses this time! But here is the long awaited chapter from Bonnie's POV. Not long to go now, probably another three or four chapters. Hope you enjoy!

"How long have you known that Elena's been in love with Damon?"

There were times in ones life where it seemed as if the whole world stopped at that one moment, waiting for your reaction.

Where it seemed as if the next few words that came out of your mouth was essential to ones survival. Or at the very least essential to the survival of one's relationship to someone who was like a brother to them almost their entire life.

Taking a deep breath Bonnie Bennett turned and met the green stare of her best friend, Stefan Salvatore, relieved to find that they weren't accusing just hurt.

They had been through a hell of a lot, her and Stefan. Best friends since first grade they had supported each other through their first heart break, through his continuous fights with his older brother, through her finding out that her father left her alone for those long period was because he had a whole new family in a different city and didn't want them to know about her and through every other important milestone in their lives.

And because he had been there for her, literally through thick and thin, Bonnie Bennett loved Stefan Salvatore fiercely.

She just wasn't in love with him. Semantics it may be, but her relationship with Stefan had never been and will never be anything more than that of a sibling relationship.

They had grown up in each others pockets. Ever since that first day when she had stumbled on a crying Stefan, Bonnie had accepted him as a part of her family – because really she barely had one.

The only family she laid claim to were her cousins Lucy, Arianna and Callie. Because at least they had been there for her when she really needed them the most.

Her mom skipped town when Bonnie had been very young. Bonnie barely remembered her face, although to hear people tell it Bonnie was an exact replica of her mom.

But yeah, Abby Bennett found that the pressures on being a young mom not sitting well with her. Only for Bonnie to find out a few years down the track Abby was in a relationship with some millionaire in NYC and eagerly anticipating the birth of her son.

That hurt. Bad. Made her feel as if she weren't good enough for the woman who gave birth to her.

But Bonnie thought at least she still had her father. Even though he was more gone than there, at least Rudy Bennett stuck around.

Only to find out that Rudy Bennett and Abby Bennett were a hell of a lot more alike than any of them realised.

Bonnie had been fourteen when she found at that Rudy had twin sons. Giuseppe had shouted her, Stefan and the rest of the gang to LA for Bonnie's birthday. They were to hit the parks, Six Flags, Disney, Universal. And shopping. They were to do a lot of shopping. Probably a compensation for the fact that once again Rudy Bennett was going to miss yet another one of her birthdays.

Caroline, Bonnie and Rebekah had opted out of going to the parks with the boys instead they wanted to go shopping. Bonnie had been given Giuseppe's black AMEX with a directive to shop for whatever she wanted.

Bonnie had initially turned it down, telling him that the trip was enough. Instead Giuseppe shot her a fierce scowl that usually sent grown men ducking for cover.

"Don't argue with me, little girl." He had growled, before dismissing her, causing Bonnie to roll her eyes at him.

So there they were – with two of Giuseppe's bodyguards tagging along as makeshift chaperons - in a mall waiting for Caroline to hurry up and try something on, when Bonnie thought she saw her father walk past the shop window.

"Hey wasn't that your dad?" Rebekah asked, pointing at the window.

"Yeah that's what I thought as well." Bonnie mused, walking out of the shop. Craning her neck over the hordes of people, Bonnie had shrugged. "Mustn't have been him." She told Rebekah who had followed her out. "Besides he's supposed to be in Chicago."

Half an hour later found the three girls in the food court, contemplating on what to eat.

As usual they had been waiting on Caroline to make up her mind when suddenly a whirlwind of energy knocked into Bonnie's legs causing her to stumble slightly. Looking down, Bonnie stared into a pair of warm dark brown eyes, light brown skin and a smile that spoke of mischievousness and mischief.

"Do you know where my mommy is?" the little boy lisped, arms wrapped firmly around her legs as if he never wanted to let go.

"Umm, no." Bonnie said slowly.

"I losted her." He said mournfully. "Now I'm gonna be in BIG trouble." He sighed, before smiling up at her. "You're pretty." He announced.

"Oh Lawd." Rebekah groaned. "Even five year old's notice."

Shooting Rebekah a dirty look, Bonnie smiled down at the little charmer.

"What's your name sweetie?" Bonnie arms, untangling his arms from around her legs and crouching down beside him.

"Thomas. Mommy calls me Tommy and daddy calls my Tom. What's your name?"

"Bonnie." She held out her hand. "Bonnie Ben-:

"Thomas Reginald Bennett, honestly!" an exasperated female voice scolded, interrupting Bonnie's introduction. Turning Bonnie saw a pretty blonde waddle towards her, tummy leading the way, tiredness and exasperation on her face, her bright blue eyes trained on the little boy in front of her.

"Mommy!" Tommy shouted, throwing his hands up in the air. "Look, mommy, isn't she pretty?" the little boy crowed, pointing at Bonnie. "Can we keep her?"

Chuckling Bonnie handed to little boy over to his obviously tired mom.

"I'm so sorry, he's more than a handful." The woman apologized, tugging the boy into her arms.

"That's fine." Bonnie chuckled.

"And he's the good son." The blonde joked. "My husband has the naughty son over – there!" she pointed, almost proudly behind Bonnie, causing Bonnie to turn.

It seemed as if everything at that moment came to a halt. Bonnie could hear a roar of sound, ringing in her ears as she met the dark brown eyes of her father. In his arms, the naughty son.

"Dear, honey!" the blonde called out. "Over here." She waved.

Fourteen year old Bonnie Bennett stood frozen as she watched as her father's big frame came to an abrupt halt, panic crossing her father's handsome face, before he made his way slowly towards them.

"Son of a b –"Rebekah breathed, her sentence cut off as Caroline elbowed her.

"Honey I'd like you to meet, -"the blonde frowned, staring at Bonnie. "Sorry I didn't get your name."

"Bonnie." Bonnie croaked her eyes' desperately searching those of her father's who refused to meet her gaze. She felt Caroline and Rebekah step up behind her, protective yet surprisingly silent.

"Bonnie." The blonde beamed. "She found Tommy – or Tommy found her. He always seems to have this thing about pretty girls." The blonde laughed smiling affectionately down at her son who continued to stare at Bonnie fascinated.

Bonnie eyes were on her father, almost pleading.

"Thank you, Bonnie, is it? For looking after my son." He replied softly, shattering Bonnie's heart into small little pieces.

Bonnie took a deep breath, keeping herself rigid at the pain that tore through her. There he stood, right in front of her as if he didn't know her. As if he had no part in her making. As if she were a stranger.

Dimly she heard Caroline on the phone, speaking softly to who she could only assume was Stefan.

"You – you're welcome." She mumbled. "Excuse me."

Turning she ran, hearing Rebekah calling her name, Bonnie ran from her father, his wife and the children he seemed to be proud of.

Half an hour later found her sobbing in Stefan's arms as she cried her hurt and her heart out to her best friend.

That had been one of the lowest points in her life. He like Abby made her feel as if she were this dirty little secret they had to keep from the world. As if she would taint them and their perfect little families.

Rudy had never apologized for keeping her his dirty little secret. And from what she could tell, he never did tell his pretty blonde wife about her either.

The day she turned 18 was the day she moved out of her father's home and moved in with Rebekah who had a small apartment in town. Only to have Giuseppe storm the apartment a week after she moved in and demand she pack her bags and move into the mansion.

She hadn't wanted to. She already owed the Salvatore's more than she could ever pay, but when he had began packing for her, Bonnie knew that he wasn't going to take no for an answer.

She later found out Stefan had narked her out, irritated that she had refused to let either Giuseppe or Sophia know about her situation.

In his head she should've just moved in with them. They had more than enough room and it would make his mother ecstatic.

He had said he had been only looking out for her, but Bonnie knew that Stefan was most probably worried about the amount of trouble her and Rebekah would probably get up to without supervision.

He was always looking out for her. Protecting her. Making sure she was okay. So the fact that she had no family, Stefan and his more than made up for it.

No actually that wasn't true. She had her cousins. Lucy, Ari and Callie. But because they had their own lives in different cities, states and on Callie's part, countries, they weren't around as much as she'd like.

But Stefan. He had always been there for her. He was her family.

Which was why she refused to give up their close relationship for anybody. Past boyfriends had demanded it. Some – mainly the biggest mistake in her life who went by the name of Damon Salvatore – had even issued ultimatums, but each and every one of them soon found out that if it came between them and Stefan. She would choose Stefan every single time.

And the only one to understand that and accept it? Was Mason Lockwood. Which was why it had been so easy to give her heart to him.

But back to Stefan, he had seen her through too many trying times, too many heartaches for her to turn her back on him just for some guy who may have or may have not been around in the future.

Her cousin Callie – who Bonnie had a sneaky feeling was the one who set out and destroyed Rudy's fledging consultancy business a few years back - said there were two types of family. Those born of blood and those born of the heart. And Stefan and his parents were those born of the heart.

They accepted a lonely little girl into their mix willingly, and for that the Salvatores will always have her loyalty.

Her relationship with Stefan was one people loved to talk about. Many never believed that they didn't see each other beyond the whole friendship thing. Many had bets on when they would hook up. It was only their friends and family – the ones that actually counted – who knew their relationship for what it was. Nothing more than family.

Hell, they sure fought like family. Tonight was prime example of that. But as fast as they got angry with one another, they forgave one another just as fast.

That was the reality of their relationship. And those who entered into a relationship with either party had to either like it or lump it. Most girls hated the fact that Stefan's best friend was a 5'3 , size 2 female that was more attractive than she was not. Most men hated the fact that Bonnie's best friend was a broad shouldered, dark haired, green eyed male who stood at almost six feet.

The only ones who accepted it. Mason Lockwood and Katherine Pierce. Even Elena had some reservations at the beginning.

"I honestly don't believe she is in love with him, just – distracted by him." She told him truthfully, thankful for Mason's presence behind her.

Hi s warmth enveloped her, comforting her and giving her strength for what she knew would be a very tense next few minutes.

"Okay." Stefan Salvatore said slowly, drawing her attention back to him, his tone causing her eyes to narrow slightly. Yeah she didn't like that tone. That tone usually had her itching to slap someone upside the head. Mainly him.

"Let me - rephrase that. How long have you known that Elena's been – distracted" damn air quotes. Why would an adult male use damn air quote, she thought irritably. "– by Damon?" he finished.

Bonnie bit her lip, pondering on what to tell him. Should she tell him that she had always had an inkling that Elena had been attracted to Damon but thought that like every other girl, she would soon see Damon for the asshole he is and leave him be. Or should she lie and say that she had just noticed it.

Nah, you don't lie to family. No matter how much you want to.

"Stefan –"she began.

"You introduced us!" he snapped at her, causing Bonnie to rear back and her eyes to narrow again with irritation.

"Oh hell no, don't put this on me!" she snapped back at him. "You didn't have to go there!"

"You encouraged us!"

"I encouraged you to step out in faith! You were obviously attracted to the girl, I told you forget the fact that she had Katherine's face and if you wanna go out with her then go! I didn't force you do anything!"

"You practically did!" Stefan snapped. "Find some sack and ask her out you said!"

"I said if you want to!" she snapped back at him. "You conveniently forget that part! I said if you want to go out with the girl, find some sack and ask her out!"

"I blame you!" Stefan accused.

"Did I drag you by your over-product hair to that first date? Did I point a gun to your head and say go out with her or else! Because I don't think I did!"

"No instead you told me that if I didn't snap her up someone else would."

"That doesn't mean that I'm to blame for her being attracted to Damon!"

"No I blame you for making me go there!"

"I did not make you go anywhere you didn't want!"

A piercing whistle had both parties wincing and slapping their hands over their ears.

Blinking Bonnie realised she had left Mason's side and was right up in Stefan's face, finger stabbing him in the chest as she stood on tiptoe to make her point.

"Shit, Mason!" Stefan snapped, shooting the taller man an annoyed look.

"Your screaming is attracting attention." The other man said calmly, pointing to the peering faces on the other side of the door. "And I'm pretty sure that's what you wanted to avoid in the first place."

"It's her!" Stefan accused pointing to Bonnie, like the little whinny baby he was. "She's annoying."

"Boy, I'll annoy you soon." Bonnie snapped taking a threatening step towards him.

"Baby, calm down." Mason chuckled wrapping a muscled arm around her waist and hauling her into his body. Bonnie's pulse jumped erratically, momentarily distracting her. Scowling she turned her attention back to her best friend seeing that the hurt from before had only increased. "Remember what Sofia said." Mason murmured in her ear. "No hitting family in public."

Bonnie took a deep calming breath meeting Stefan's green stare.

There were times that Stefan could piss her off like no one else. Well no one but Damon, but he was in a whole other issue.

"Would you believe me if I say that I believe that nothing has happened between them." Bonnie told Stefan, softly.

"Yet." Stefan said to her, eyes blazing. "Yet. Because you know and I know that given half the chance, Elena would dump my ass for Damon any day. They all do." He lifted his shoulders, his jaw tight with anger. "Every single girl, I've bought home or have gone out with has either hit on Damon –" he stated ticking off his fingers as he began his list. "– slept with Damon. Or only got to know me because of Damon." He grunted. "Why the hell should Elena be any different?" scowling, Stefan ran a frustrated hand through his hair. "And I feel like the damn ugly sister every single time."

Squeezing Mason's arm, Bonnie slipped out of his embrace, walking towards Stefan.

"Look before you start throwing accusations around –"

"You saw that look, Bons!" he interrupted. "That look she gave my brother, she should only be giving to me." He took a step towards her, eyes wild. "Her first reaction when Damon all but stormed away was to see how he was doing. Not me."

"I have no excuse for Elena's actions." Bonnie told him. "Hell, I'm the last person to talk about the whole Damon thing, if my bad judgment in the past is anything to go by, but you need to talk to her. Don't stand here and rage about the what ifs or the what happens. Take her home and talk to her."

"Fuck that, fuck him and fuck her!" Stefan snapped stubbornly.

"So you're just going to judge her, without hearing her side of the story."

"Yes!" Stefan snapped. "She showed her true colors tonight. Hell I didn't even see what was right in front of my eyes. Kol yammered on about watching my girl around Damon, but I was more watching Damon than I was my girl!" as he spoke, Stefan's hands were flying in agitation. "Her first thought was him Bonnie. Not me but Damon."

Bonnie sighed, glancing at Mason. Taking a step forward she wrapped her arms around Stefan's waist, hugging him. He stood stiffly in her arms, before she slowly felt him relax.

"I'm sorry." She whispered against his shoulder.

Stefan's arms wrapped tightly around her, lifting her up in his embrace.

"I'm sorry too." He muttered against the top of her head. "This shit always happens. You would think I'd be use to it by now."

Shrugging Bonnie squeezed him tightly. How does one get use to being second choice to their brother?

"The offer to put a hit out on Damon is still on the table." She told him, half jokingly as she stepped away from him.

Stefan's brow wrinkled as if considering it before he sighed.

"No, Mama will so know it's us." He muttered morosely. "Dammit."

"So are you going to talk to Elena?" she asked him.

"No." he said stubbornly. Glancing at her raised eyebrow, Stefan sighed. "Yes." He amended.

"Stop being chicken shit."

"Stop cussing." Stefan grumbled. "It sounds funny."

"Mason likes it when I cuss," Bonnie said smugly, glancing at her boyfriend. "Don't you baby?" Bonnie asked shooting him an intimate smile.

The slow smile that crossed his face had Bonnie's pulse racing and her mouth going dry.

Stefan gagged, faux choking as he watched them, the anger and hurt lingering in his gaze, but this time it was mixed with amusement.

"That's just gross."

"Bite me." Bonnie sassed, shooting him a look.

Stefan made a face that had Mason chuckling.

"Stop procrastinating and go." Bonnie shooed, waving her hands. "Man up."

"It was that kinda talk that got me into this situation in the first place."

Stefan mumbled, straightening his tie.

"Take her home and talk to her, Stefan. Don't do it here." Bonnie warned, watching as her best friend turned towards the closed door, causing every peeping tom to scramble away like little cockroaches.

"So frickin bossy." He mumbled.

Bonnie shot him the dirty eye causing him to take a hasty step away from her.

"OK, Ok! Sheesh." Standing tall, Stefan tugged on the ends of his jacket, taking a deep breath and pulling together his waning courage. Watching him Bonnie resisted the urge to follow to make sure he didn't cause a scene.

Not that she didn't trust him, just that once Stefan lost his temper he also lost all common sense.

Strong, corded arms wrapped around her shoulders as Mason pulled her body into the security of his.

Damn how she loved this man. His touch, his smell, him. She loved the way he made her feel, the security and the trust. And she loved the way he loved her.

She loved how she never had to check herself when around her other male friends, never had to worry about him exploding into childish jealousy at her even smiling at another man.

She loved how he was secure in her love for him and he trusted her. Completely.

She loved how there were no hidden agendas, where she didn't have to soothe any hurt egos or hurt feelings. She loved how she didn't have to justify her relationship with Stefan. But most of all she loved how he wasn't Damon Salvatore.

Her relationship with Damon Salvatore was the biggest mistake in her life. Many women said that about an ex. But to Bonnie it was the God's honest truth.

Damon who was Stefan's older brother. Damon who she had known almost as long as she had known Stefan. Damon who blew her away the day she turned 21 by admitting he had feelings for her.

Growing up, Damon had been the proverbial thorn in her side. He was constantly there, in her face, mocking Stefan, teasing her, interfering himself in things that had nothing to do with him. He was like a bad smell she couldn't escape from.

And as she grew older and he began flirting with her she didn't really give it a second thought. Because all of her male friends flirted with her. They flirted with anything that wore a skirt. Each and everyone one of them players in their own right. But when Damon had on her 21st birthday told her he had feelings for her and that he refused to take no as an answer, she had been blown away.

She never really gave a thought to anything more than friendship with Damon. He refused to be called her pseudo brother, claiming that since they had no blood between them that didn't make her his sister. Although at times he did say that she was a Salvatore, which confused her. If she wasn't an adoptee then what the hell was she?

Not that he had ever made her feel unwelcomed. In fact, besides his mom, Bonnie had been the only one he was even remotely nice to. But that was just Damon. Weird, hardheaded and very hard to understand.

But the day he had made his feelings known had Bonnie all kinds of confused.

He had taken her out to breakfast on her birthday – something they had been doing since she was fourteen – and it had been the first time ever Bonnie had seen the man nervous.

"I can't believe out of all the places in the country we could eat at, you choose the Grille." Damon complained, a sneer twisting his lips as he spied a couple of Bonnie's ex-class mates waving a hello. "We have the old man's jet fueled and ready. We could go anywhere, but instead you want to go here."

"Stop whining." Bonnie chastised reading the menu. "We always come to the Grille."

"Which is why we should have gone some place else. Paris, Milan, Sydney. Any place else."

"I like the Grille and since it's my birthday I want to come here." She shot Damon a cheeky smile.

"Brat." He muttered, shooting her a small smile.

"Yeah but you love me anyways." She teased.

Some unnamed emotion crossed his features that had Bonnie's brow hiking.

"You okay?" she asked him, pausing at the look.

"I'm fine, let's just order." He told her, signaling for the waitress.

Eyes narrowed Bonnie noticed the touch of nervousness in Damon's eyes. It was a – weird emotion to see on him. He was usually so confident. So cocky that more times than not she wanted to smack him.

But today, there was a touch of nerves to the usual swagger. And it was weird. She had seen him angry, mocking, charming, smug and almost every other emotion. But not nervous.

Shrugging she turned back towards the menu, contemplating between the Pancake Stack or the All you can eat breakfast.

"Damon." A light breathy voice sounded from Bonnie's left. Lifting her head, Bonnie smiled warmly at April Young, who shot her a small smile before turning back to Damon. "How – how have you been?" the small brunette asked him softly.

Women were like this all the time with Damon. Constantly stumbling over themselves to get his attention, constantly flirting with him to tempt him.

Some were brazen about it; one girl even pushed her out of the way to get in his face and ask him out. Of course Damon dressed her down and made her feel about a centimeter tall. Others were like April, shy at first and looking at Damon through rose tinted glasses.

"Fine." Damon said abruptly, causing Bonnie to frown at him for his rudeness.

"You – we –"she paused, licking her lips, her eyes never leaving Damon's face. "You never called." She said, almost desperately.

Bonnie resisted the urge to grimace. Dang, this was going to get awkward. If Damon didn't call you back then that meant you were yesterday's news. And unfortunately for April – it sounded as if Damon had already relegated her to that status.

"I never called because I didn't want to." Damon told her simply, eyes on his menu.

Scowling Bonnie kicked him under the table, causing him to scowl at her.

"Dammit Judgey, what the hell was that for?!"

"Sorry, foot slipped." Bonnie said sweetly, giving him a look. Rolling his eyes he turned to April.

"Look, Ariel –"

"April." April corrected.

"Ariel, April, same thing." Damon shrugged. "What we had was fun. You were fun, but it was never going to be anything more than fun. Get it?" Damon said bluntly.

April paled at his words, her fingers clenching the small notepad in her hands.

"I thought we had a connection." April said quietly. "You said we had a connection."

"Yeah, I lied." Another kick had Damon glaring at her. "Dammit Judgey!"

"I thought that you felt –"

"Look to stop you from embarrassing yourself any further, whatever I told you that night I lied just to get you into bed." He told her brutally, causing Bonnie to wish she were any other place but where she was. Sinking into her seat she tried to make herself invisible, wishing she could strangle Damon for being such a fucking asshole.

A small strangled sound came from April as she stared at him in shock.

"So – are you going to take our fucking order or stand there like a stalker?" Damon asked her, one dark brow raised.

April choked out a sob, the pen and pad dropping from her nerveless fingers as she turned on her heel and ran.

"Shit." Bonnie cursed, struggling to get out of the booth.

"Where the hell are you going, Judgey?" Damon demanded, reaching out to grab her arm to stop her.

"To see how she is. Really Damon do you have to be a fucking asshole to everyone!" Bonnie asked, exasperated while tugging on her arm.

"I'm not to you." He told her softly, his fingers squeezing her arm, his tone causing Bonnie to look at him. Really look at him.

Blinking Bonnie stared into those bright blue eyes, so much like his mothers, confused. Those eyes were telling her things, her brain refused to acknowledge.

"Damon –"

"Sit down Judgey." He said softly.

"No." she shook her head. "You're going to let my arm go so I can see how April is." She told him firmly, looking at his hand pointedly.

Damon remained still his eyes searching her face.

"What if I told you, the reason why I never called April – or any of the girls I date – back is because I've have – feelings for someone else." Bonnie swallowed staring at the raw emotion in Damon's eyes.

"Damon –"

"What if I told you that the reason why I've never had a relationship with – anybody – was because I've always had feelings for a particular someone."

"Damon –"

Getting out of his seat, Damon pulled Bonnie out as well, his hands cupping her face causing Bonnie to rear back, uncomfortable with the emotion in his stare.

"What if I told you that that someone was you?" He said his voice so soft.

Bonnie blinked, staring at the truth on his face.

"Damon I –"

"For years Judgey, it's always been you. It always has been you." Lowering his forehead to hers, Damon continued to stare down at her, confusing her. "Why do you think I've been such an asshole to every single guy you've dated?"

"Because you're just an asshole." Bonnie couldn't help but mutter.

Damon chuckled, brushing his lips against hers causing a strange tingle to go down her spine.

"Give me a chance. One chance, that's all I ask."

"Damon, I don't know –"

"One chance, Bonnie. One chance."

She had given him one chance, admittedly almost a month after he had asked, and look how that turned out. Her, with her heart shattered and him acting like the King of all assholes.

Bonnie was woman enough to admit that the disaster that was their relationship wasn't all Damon's fault.

She had been too stubborn to understand his point of view. He irritated her too easily. She should have had more patience with him.

But their relationship had always been doomed to fail. Damon's jealous tendencies and over bearing nature and her stubbornness and close relationship with Stefan were a recipe for disaster.

Actually her relationship with anything male was a recipe for disaster in Damon's eyes.

In Damon's eyes he should have been the only man in Bonnie's life. In Bonnie's eyes Damon was extremely important, but so were the other men in her life. Stefan, Giuseppe, Tyler, Matt. These were the only men in her life that never let her down. That could be counted on to be there for her. And she wasn't going to turn her back on them. Not even for Damon.

It was something that he refused to come to terms with, and it was something that had been a source of contention between them their entire relationship.

The other men in Bonnie's life.

Which in Damon's mind gave him grounds to sleep with one of Bonnie's best friends.

The pain of those actions had hurt almost as much as the day Bonnie found out her father had created a whole new life without her in it. Actually if she were truthful it probably matched it.

Despite the fact that they fought more often than not, and that their relationship was a volatile mixture of screaming matches, slamming doors and thrown beer bottles, Damon Salvatore had been her first love.

She had fallen for Damon, hard. Because there were times during their relationship, when it was just her and him, Damon had been so damn amazing. Funny, loving, warm. His guard would drop, and his face would light up. Those eyes, that captured every female attention whether you were straight or not, would warm up and stare at her as if she were the only woman worth knowing. Those were the times he literally took her breath away.

Those were the times that she could forget all his jealous tantrums and his stupidness. Because those were the times that made up for it.

But then he had to go and fuck one of her best friends.

Bonnie knew that that had been a strategic move. He had been furious that she had left his bed to go and comfort Katherine when she had called a few nights before over Stefan. So furious that he had refused to take any of her calls after that.

The next time she saw him, he had been fucking Katherine's brains out.

She remembered walking into his and Stefan's apartment and calling out Damon's name. She remembered hearing something coming from Damon's room and remembered walking in. She remembered a blindfolded Katherine screaming her release and Damon providing that release. After that, everything went hazy.

Yeah that was a time in her life she never wanted to relive. She had been in such a dark place. A place she never wanted to go again.

But her healing came. Thanks to Stefan, thanks to Caroline and Rebekah. Matt and Tyler. And also thanks to the man currently holding her. Mason Lockwood.

Tilting her head she met his warm gaze, the woman in her recognizing the desire that always seem to linger there.

Not many knew that Mason Lockwood had been her very first crush. Stefan and Sofia knew but that was because Stefan had guessed – Stefan knowing her very well to notice the girlish giggles and the faint blushing when ever Mason was around - and Sofia because Bonnie had confided in her.

But once upon a time Mason Lockwood had once starred in all her teenage fantasies.

Tall, broad insanely good looking. He had these light greenie blue eyes that on more than one occasion made Bonnie trip over her own tongue. Lightly tanned skin from spending hours out in the sun and on a surf board, a long corded surfer's body that use to stop Bonnie's breath in her throat causing her to either choke or sound like she had a 20 year smoking habit.

Yeah she had had a massive crush on Mason when she had been younger.

And now, those teenage fantasies that she use to harbor as a kid, yeah now she could act them out with a very willing partner.

The man knew how to make her body sing. Knew how to pull every gasp, every moan and every sigh from her mouth. But most of all Mason knew her. And didn't try to change her.

"I'm surprised you didn't hit him." He told her amused, a small smile kicking up the corner of his lips drawing her attention to the faintest of dimple that winked at her on his cheek.

"I was this close." She said with mock seriousness, holding her finger and thumb an inch apart.

She loved the way his eyes swept over her features, down her body lingering on all the places he loved spending quality time on.

"We should go in." he muttered, his gaze darkening as she turned around to face him, her arms slipping around his waist. She tilted her head up to his.

"We should." She agreed her eyes on his lips.

"Stefan could at this very moment be making a scene."

"He could." Even in heels she was still a bit shorter than him, so much so that she had to tiptoe to touch her lips to his.

"Bonnie –"

"Mmmm?" she nipped at his bottom lip, feeling his big body shudder and the hands that had been holding her lightly, draw her tightly into him.

"Fuck it. If Sofia asks it's all your fault." He muttered, swooping down and capturing her mouth in a kiss that made Bonnie forget every single thing, but him.

His kiss was possessive and demanding taking advantage of her slight gasp to stroke her tongue with his. Damn she loved the way this man kissed.

He kissed her like she were the last bit of ice cream stubbornly clinging to his spoon, stroking her tongue and dominating her mouth.

He kissed her like a man possessed and she was his saving light. He kissed her like she were the only thing on this earth worth tasting.

"We should go in." he muttered against her lips once he drew back so they could catch their breath. Bonnie deliberately licked her lips, smirking when his eyes followed the movement hungrily.

"We should." She said huskily, licking his lower lip, causing his hands to tighten on her waist. "One more kiss." She promised, taking his bottom lip in her mouth and sucking on it.

Groaning Mason swooped down again, taking her mouth like he were starving and scattering all of Bonnie's thoughts.

Bonnie was so caught up in all that was Mason that she failed to hear the enraged growl that came from her behind her. Fail to hear the muttered curses as she was wrenched away from her boyfriend's arms.

But what she didn't fail to see was Damon fucking Salvatore, pull back his fist and slam it into Mason's face, causing Mason to rear back.

"Taking your fucking hands off her Lockwood." Damon snarled. "Bonnie Bennett is mine."
