HEADACHES AND DREAMS

"Nat-kun!" Shouted a little brunette girl.

"Shut up, Polka." Replied a raven-haired boy atop a tree whilst lifting the manga covering his face.

"Mou~ Why are you up there again?" Pouted the little girl.

"So, what do you want?" He asked already sitting down.

"I was bored. I want to play."

"What do you wanna play?"

"I don't know. What would you recommend for today?"

"Why don't we go near the lake?"

"Ah! Let's look for shiny stones again."

"Sure thing."

"Yay, let's go Nat-kun."

"Hai, hai." The raven said while landing on all fours like a cat.

"Ne~ Nat-kun, you're more like a 'Cat-kun' right?"

"Shut up, Polka."

"Let's go."

"Race ya." The raven sped ahead laughing at the brunette who kept shouting at him.

Mikan shot up as she awoke from her dream.

"Nat-kun? Who is that?"

She looked at her clock and noted that the time was 4 in the morning. She decided she wouldn't be able to sleep again anymore so she started working on her routine. She took a shower longer than she usually does and she took her time as well on doing the rest. By 6:45 she was on her way to school.

She arrived at school at exactly 7:00, she was welcomed by Natsume of course. He seemed to have had a good time before he welcomed Mikan because his face lit up a little. Whatever the reason was, she did not ask for it was none of her business. As she looked at Natsume who was offering her his hand, her vision blurred and instead of Natsume she saw her brother instead. He was smiling at her whilst offering his hand.

"Welcome-" Natsume started.

"Onii-san?"

Hi s eyes widened and the next he saw was Mikan falling. He quickly caught her and at the same time Hotaru had pulled over.

"What happened?" She asked as she and Ruka dashed to Natsume's side. (Where Ruka came from, he was with Hotaru.)

"I don't know, I just welcomed her and she called me 'Onii-san' then suddenly she fainted."

"She called you 'Onii-san'?" Ruka asked.

"This is bad."

"What's bad, Imai?"

"I'll tell you but bring her to the infirmary first."

Natsume carried Mikan while Ruka volunteered on bringing Mikan's bag too. They recalled to the nurse what had happened and she left them alone after telling to let Mikan rest.

"So, spill, Imai."

"Mikan's memories are returning."

"Isn't that good?" Ruka asked.

"Yes and No."

"How can you say that it is returning?" Natsume asked.

"Remember when you were leaving for England because of your mom?"

"Yeah."

"She felt loss that time. When she learned of your engagement," Natsume's face scrunched. "She walked out right? I followed her and where she went is her favorite Sakura tree."

"Why a sakura tree?" Ruka asked.

"She felt nostalgic."

"Nostalgic?"

"When we were kids, we always played on or under a sakura tree." Natsume answered.

"Yeah and so, when your engagement was told to us, she went there and when I asked why she was acting that way she just suddenly broke to tears saying she felt like she had experienced someone leaving before."

"And what about this morning?"

"When we were still small and I go over their house. Rei-nii would always be the one to welcome us if he is home."

"So her memories are really going back, why did you say it is bad?"

"Because her mind can't take it all coming bqck at the same time. If she remembers she would faint like this, so I suggest Hyuuga, you should never leave her side."

"What if Luna bothers again?"

"I'll do something about that."

"Thanks then."

"Mikan does not seem to wake up sooner. Hyuuga we'll leave you here." Hotaru said and stepped out of the infirmary.

Natsume sat by Mikan's side until he was dragged by sleep.

A brunette was crying under the shade of a sakura tree.

"Oi, little girl." Called out a boy with raven hair.

"Huh?" The little brunette looked around confused as to where the voice had come from.

"Up here."

The girl looked up to see the boy swinging his legs while sitting atop the tree.

"Why are you crying?"

"I was following the butterflies while enjoying the forest when I reached the lake. I noticed I was lost and couldn't find my way back."

"I see."

"Why are you here?"

"This is my usual hang out."

"Can you lead me to the right way."

"Roger. Follow me." The boy said pulling the girl's hand.

"I'm Mikan. Yukihira Mikan."

"Hn."

Do you know where my house is?"

"You told me your real name right?"

"Yeah."

"Then I know where your house is. Shut up and follow."

Mikan silenced and instead stared at the boy's hand that was dragging her. After a few more walking, they reached her house.

"Uwaah! Thanks. Umm?"

"No problem."

"Can I visit you again at your tree?"

"Hn."

"I'll take that as a yes."

The boy started to walk back the same way.

"Wait. What is your name?"

"I'm Nat-..."

Mikan woke up again not even hearing the name of the boy. She did not even notice Natsume sleeping by her side. She stood from her bed seemingly half asleep. She walked to a destination which she had memorized by heart since she didn't even need to be awake fully. Her sakura tree. By then Natsume had awoken and noticed Mikan's absence. He panicked and ran in search for Mikan. He remembered Hotaru saying she had a favorite sakura tree so he searched for the only sakura tree he knew of.

And true enough, she was there. She was looking up the tree. Just when he was at close distance, Mikan opened her mouth and said.

"Nat-kun."

Natsume was frozen to the ground.

"Polka."

Mikan looked at his direction and they locked gazes.

"Natsume? A-Are you Nat-kun?"

Eh? Eh? Eh? Nani? Nani? EH?!

What was with that amazing development?
