Hey guys! So here's a new chapter. Chapters for What is Love, I Forgive You, Secrets and The Silence in the Sky are coming shortly after :D

Tris

Once I'm downstairs, I make my way to the living room. That's when I see Tori, Bud, Caleb and the 'gang' all sitting on the couch in some sort of huddle. I clutch my bag as I take a seat next to Christina. My heart pounds as she places her hand over mine. As if she were my sister. I would've been comfortable with it, if I hadn't read her documents.

"Where were you?" She whispers.

"I was reading," I whisper back. That wasn't a complete lie.

She purses her lips as her eyebrows furrow. "Okayy..."

"So, the Princess finally decided to attend this 'meeting'." Four's deep voice rumbles. My head turns toward him.

"Princess?" I ask.

I've always wanted some kind of nickname. Because if you have a nickname, then you probably have a lot of attention. Or at least some attention. When I was younger, I didn't have attention. So I use pity to grab attention. I know it's wrong, and I hate it, but it's the only way to grasp people's attention. But now, I'm not so sure if I want the attention.

"Yup," Uriah says. "Because you're basically a princess. A rich, passably cute girl runs away from the burning hell she's been living in."

Marlene elbows Uriah.

"What is Caleb's nickname?" I ask.

"Nose," Lynn quickly says.

I snort as Caleb raises a brow. "Nose?"

"What!? You always stick that stubby nose of your's in some old book all the time." She says.

Caleb quickly covers his nose.

"Okay, okay. So, Bud and I have some... News." Tori says slowly.

"Good or bad?" Shauna asks.

"Both," Bud says, his eyes hardening.

"What's the good news?" Zeke asks.

"The good news is that Mrs. Prior doesn't suspect us anymore. She finally believed that Tris and Caleb are from Bud's side of the family. But we can't let our guard down. Natalie is very stubborn. When she wants something, she gets it."

"The bad news is that we might have to move." Tori mumbles.

"What? Move where?" I ask.

"Texas," Tori says firmly.

"Texas?" Lynn questions.

"Texas is one of the biggest states in the U.S. It might buy us some time."

"Time for what?" Caleb asks.

"Time for when Natalie and Andrew find out. They're not that stupid. Just... Just gullible." Tori says, nodding her head.

There's a brief silence. The silence is soon broken by Four's voice.

"Where are we going live?" He asks.

"The house that Bud and I bought isn't as big as this one. Everybody is going to have to share a room. There are seven rooms. Bud and I will have one room. The second is going to be an office. So that leaves five rooms." Tori pauses. "So that means you guys are gonna have decide later."

"Wait, what's gonna happen when–" Tori cuts Marlene off with her hand.

"Please, no more questions. If you have any questions, please write them down on a sticky note and leave it on my desk. Okay?"

Four opens his mouth to says something but quickly closes it as Tori sends one of her death glares.

"We can talk later, okay? I'm going to bed. If anybody needs anything, bother Bud. If anybody needs me, still bother Bud." She says before getting up, walking towards the stairs and groaning as she climbs up the stairs.

–:–:–:–:–:–:–

I check my phone to see what time it is. 8:15.

One more hour until mostly everybody is asleep. Once everyone is asleep, I'll get back to my 'reading'.

I get up from my beanbag couch and plop onto my bed. I kick off my grey Toms as I strip out of my pants. I remove my bra but leave my panties and white V-neck on as I grab one of the fluffy blankets. I might as well take a small nap if I'm gonna be waiting for an hour.

But there's a knock at the door. I inwardly groan.

"Who is it?" I shout.

"It's Chris!" She calls out.

I let out a small sigh. "Just a minute,"

I lazily climb out of bed and into my closet. I throw on a purple knitted Bambi sweater and some shorts. I quickly run to the door and open it up to see Christina's. Something twists and turns in my stomach.

"Hey Chris,"

"Can I come in?" She asks, pointing to my bed behind me.

"Sure, come on in." I say, allowing her to enter and closing the door behind me.

"Couldn't sleep?" I ask her as she plops onto my bed.

Christina always sleeps around 8 so that she could get her 'beauty sleep'.

She nods. "I've been having some nightmares." She says gruffly.

"Wanna talk about 'em?" I ask.

She closes her eyes for a brief moment. "I... I don't know if I can."

I nod silently.

There's a brief silence before Christina returns to her usual cheery self.

"So, have you talked to Four?" She asks.

I groan. "No, I've been trying to avoid him at all costs."

"Why?"

"I don't know. I like him but he's just... I just can't trust him. And then I'm always catching him flirting with other girls when he said he'd wait for me." I say, shoving my face into a pillow.

"Ah... I get ya," She says.

I raise a brow. "Spill,"

She sighs. "Will has been..." She bobs her head to the side. "Moody. With all of the shit that's going around, he tries to drown himself in his studies and books."

"I haven't had a full conversation with him since like... Forever!" She says, exasperated.

I nod. "It's alright. He's Will, I'm pretty sure come crawling back to you in no time soon."

After another long silence, Chris speaks up.

"I feel like... I feel like you've changed us Tris. In a good way, I mean. I'm just glad that we met you." She says, wholeheartedly.

My heart clenches recalling the things I've read. How do I know she's not lying?

I finally manage to choke out, "I'm glad I met you guys too. You all welcomed me with open arms and taught me new things... Thank you for that."

Christina gives me a small smile. "And thank you for teaching us new things." And with that, she gets up, mumbles a small good night, and leaves.

Her last words baffle me. 'Thank you for teaching us new things.'

I'm not sure of what to think. Im not sure on how our conversation came to that. I'm not sure if what I'm doing behind my friends' backs are right. Of course it's wrong but still. I trusted them and they acted as if, as if I were the stupidest girl on the planet. I feel as if they cheated me.

Beside me, my phone vibrates, shaking me out of my thoughts. I squint as I read the screen.

And what I find is shocking as hell.
