Later that night Mason decided to take Ray and Ava home. He sensed something was off about her and he wanted to make sure his family got home safe. Rayna was a little frustrated that Mason was dropping them off but she was happy because Ava was happy.
Ava couldn't stop smiling and laughing but being only two years old, she tired very quickly and fell asleep on the drive home. Mason looked through the review mirror and seen his daughter sound asleep. He reached over and grabbed Rayna's hand. He brought it up to his lips and placed a gentle kiss on her hand. Rayna looked over and her heart melted.
"I do love you Ray. And I know deep down you feel the same way." He told her. Rayna sighed knowing he was right. No matter how many times they fight they will always forgive one another and move past it.
She knew she needed support against the vampires in the town because Elena was siding with them. She couldn't protect anyone and she needed supernatural help. "Mason, you know I love you as well and I'm sorry about the gifts and flowers the mystery man left." Rayna told him as they pulled in her driveway.
Mason turned off the car and faced her. "I'm sorry about blowing up. I know you don't know this man and I feel bad that I said that shit to you. I just want to come home Ray." Mason pleaded with her. Rayna got teary eyed. "I want you home too." She told him and leaned in to kiss his lips.
She still felt those same sparks like before. She never wanted those feelings to ever go away. Mason cupped her cheek and deepened the kiss. He slipped his tongue in between her lips. She moaned and pulled back. "Not yet." She whispered. He nodded and kissed her forehead.
Rayna got out of the car and opened the back door to get sleeping Ava. She grabbed her daughter and carried her into the house. Mason followed quickly since once the door shut he couldn't get out because of the crystals.

Across town Katherine was still in the tomb waiting for someone to get her out. She was fed up with everyone in Mystic Falls including Mason. She hated the feeling of being used since she was really falling for Mason. She was tired of running from Klaus but she didn't want to die just yet.
Being stuck in a tomb isn't fun and she would hate to continue being in there for all eternity.

Elijah sat in the small apartment with Jonas and Luka. He promised the two warlocks to help get their family member back and Elijah always keeps his words. "I need to look at some of your journals. I need to check in about a certain supernatural creature and all of their abilities." Elijah told Jonas.
"What kind of creature are we talking about?" Jonas asked. Elijah shrugged. "Just rumors I have heard about them. They can carry any supernatural creatures' child, feel emotions, light radiating off their hands when in danger, strength, a certain essence they put out towards males, making them irresistible, and connecting them with nature." Elijah described.
Jonas looked surprised. He got up and grabbed one of the journals and started flipping through pages. He stopped flipping and handed the journal to Elijah. Elijah looked at the page and then back at Jonas. "This is impossible." He stated.
Jonas shook his head. "No, it's not. I cannot believe you came across one. They are a dying breed." He told Elijah.
Elijah placed the book on the table. "Yes I kind of realized that but she will be a gift to Klaus in exchange for your daughter. No harm is to come to her or her daughter." Elijah told Jonas.
Jonas nodded. "Understood." He said.

"So will Luka remember anything?" Jeremy asked Bonnie.
"No, he'll know he lost consciousness. That's all." Bonnie told him.
"Should we wait for Caroline?" Jeremy asked.
"She was just going to drop off Luka back at the grill and she said to lock the door on the way out." She replied.
Yeah well I hope she drops him hard." Jer mumbled as he got up to leave.
"Wait, you're Elena's and Rayna's little brother. I've known you forever. You're that punk kid I remember your awkward phase and then your emo phase, your druggie phase and overnight you turned into this hot guy who is really sweet and-" Bonnie said but was cut off.
"You think I'm hot?" Jeremy asked only using selective hearing.
"With everything going on, you know, curses, and sacrifice." She continued but was cut off again.
"Enough already." Jeremy said as he grabbed her face and shared a passionate kiss. Jeremy never experienced a kiss like that before. He finally knew that Bonnie will always be the one for him no matter what. Bonnie couldn't even think straight. She couldn't believe little Jeremy had the balls to kiss her. His lips on her lips made everything feel perfect.
Jeremy pulled back from the kiss and looked at her. Bonnie's eyes were still closed. Bonnie slowly opened her eyes and looked into Jeremy's eyes. She could see the love he had for her. Bonnie leaned in again and kissed him. Jeremy was taken back that Bonnie made the first move but gave in. Bonnie wrapped her arms around his neck to pull him closer as Jer wrapped his arms around her waist. He gently leaned them back on the couch and continued kissing her.
Bonnie was so lost with the kiss and touch and at that moment all she wanted was him. Jer placed wet kisses all on her neck moving towards her collarbone when he suddenly came back to his senses. Bonnie let Jer settle between her thighs as he kept caressing her side and waist.
She felt Jeremy tense and break away from the heated make out session. "What's wrong?" she asked him. He shook his head. "Nothing, but I want to make this right. I don't want our first time to be on Caroline's couch." He told her.
Bonnie blushed and started to fix her clothes and hair. "Oh yeah totally." She told him.

"What is it?" Elena asked.
"Damon learned that Elijah's planning for you die in the sacrifice ritual and that he could possibly give your sister away to Klaus." Stefan told her.
Elena just looked stunned. "Why would he want Rayna? But I know the deal I made, Stefan. Elijah is very careful with his words. He promised to protect my family, friends, and Rayna. So why would he want to harm Rayna? He never said a word about me." she said.
"I know something is a little different with your sister considering the night I met her, but maybe she is something that is also used in the ritual. But back to you; you mean you knew you weren't going to survive this?" Stefan questioned her.
"If it comes down to the people I love getting killed or me. I know what my choice would be." Elena nodded.
"Elena how could you stand there earlier with me talking about making plans for the future when you don't expect to have one?" he asked as he got angrier.
"I'm sorry Stefan. I'm just trying to keep people I love safe. I'm trying to keep you safe." She reasoned with him.
"No! What you're doing is you're being a martyr." Stefan informed her.
"How is that any different from when you say that you would die for me?" Elena asked him.
"Because I've already lived! 162 years I have lived and you barely begun. And now you will let yourself be killed? That's not heroic, it's tragic." Stefan spat and left the room.

Rayna tucked in her daughter and gave her a kiss. She missed having her daughter home. She missed all the happiness in her home. It felt so empty that she couldn't stand to be in it alone. Mason was checking his phone to make sure Katherine didn't call him. She hasn't been around and frankly he was a little worried since she was always up to no good. But his main focus was fixing his relationship. He knew he had to come clean about the Katherine affair but he couldn't since he knew it would break her heart. Mason sat on the couch in the family room and waited for Rayna to come back downstairs.
Rayna changed her clothes to her purple pajamas and walked back downstairs. She walked into the kitchen and noticed Mason sitting on the couch. She hated to admit she really missed him. He was her sense of security. He made her feel alive. She grabbed two glasses and poured them a nice amount of wine in each glass.
She grabbed the glasses and headed over to Mason. "Here, I think we both need a drink." She said as she handed him a glass. He leaned back. "Yeah I know." He said and sipped the wine.
"Is Ava still asleep?" Mason asked. Rayna nodded. "Yeah, she is completely knocked out." She said and laughed. Mason smiled. He missed both his girls.
Rayna placed her wine glass on the small coffee table. "So..." she said. Mason chuckled and placed his glass down. "Really Ray? That's all you have to say?" he asked. She shrugged. "I don't want to mess anything up again." she started. "I was so miserable without you and Ava not being here. I missed her so much and I thought I was being a horrible mom. I was so depressed that I thought I was going to drown in the lake. I was in a really dark place." She finished as she began to sob.
Mason sat there listening to her hoping that he had heard her wrong. Rayna would never consider suicide. She wouldn't be able to leave her family like that. He pulled ray into a hug and cradled her tiny body. "Baby it's okay. I got you now. I'm here and I'm never going away. I promise. But you have to promise me to never go back to that place." HE told her.
Rayna snuggled into his arms and looked into his eyes. "I promise." She whispered. His blue eyes getting wet. He kissed her as a lone tear came down his cheek.
She felt his lips on hers and immediately responded. She missed him so much. Rayna moved herself so now she was straddling him. His hands went to her ass and squeezed it. Rayna moaned in his mouth as Mason aggressively started to kiss her. His hands tangled in her hair. "Upstairs." She whispered against his lips. Mason grabbed her ass and hoisted her around his waist. "Nik, my father knows, and so does your father know." Valencia cried. Nik grabbed her and held her close. "How did they find out?" he asked. She shrugged. "I don't know but father is very upset. We didn't get married first. If Mikael knows he'll kill you." She told him.
Nik paced in the woods. "Wait here and I promise I will be back. We are going to run away together. Start new. I promise Valencia. I love you and this child." Nik said and gave her and her flat stomach a kiss.
A few hours later Nik returned to the meeting site and seen Valencia on the ground. He ran to her. "Sweetheart wake up." he said. Something wasn't right though. She was cold. He turned her over and noticed her bloody head and bloody stomach.
"Noooooo! Valencia! Please!" Nik cried and held her close to his body.

Mystery man snapped out of the painful memory and stormed away.

The next day Jenna remembered she had to show Elijah around the state properties. She dressed in simple clothes and met up with Elijah near the Lockwood Residence.
"Good morning Elijah." She smiled at him.
"Good morning Jenna. How are you?" He politely asked. She blushed. "I'm well thank you. How about yourself?" she asked him. He smiled. "I'm excited." He said.
Elijah had to continue to play this role of a writer and he needed to get more information on the witch burial ground.
"The old Fell property actually starts right beyond that fence." Jenna said pointing towards it.
"Ah the Fells. One of the fellow founding families." Elijah remarked.
Jenna smirked. "Why do you say it like that?" she asked.
"My research showed me that this area was actually settled almost two full centuries earlier. It was migration of townsfolk from the northeast. It was Salem to be precise." Elijah informed her.
Jenna seemed interested but still couldn't believe it. "Massachusetts? As in the Salem Witch Trials?" she curiously asked.
"Which means that ever lauded founding families...they didn't actually found anything." Elijah stated.
"Well I bet it was all the men who made a big deal about being founders back in the 1860s. Men are very territorial." Jenna stated.
Elijah smiled and looked up. "Yes they are." He stated as he noticed the history teacher Alaric walking towards them.
Jenna looked confused. "Elijah this is my friend Alaric Saltzman." Jenna introduced.
Alaric kept staring at Elijah and then turned to look at Jenna. "Yeah I got your message about walking Elijah through the old property lines. I thought I would tag along, you know being a history buff and all. Where to next." He asked.
"I'm pretty curious about the free slave property owners. Some say you know, the descendants of the slaves are the true keeps of American History." Elijah stated.
Jenna looked in between the two men feeling a little bit of tension. "Well I only brought the surveys. I got the list in the car. Just give me a sec." She says and walks towards her car.
Alaric and Elijah are still studying each other until Elijah speaks up. "Alaric Saltzman. So you're one of the ones on Elena's list of loved ones to protect." He spoke.
"So is Jenna." Alaric said and walked closer.
"You don't have to be jealous. I don't really pursue younger women." Elijah smirked. Alaric kept a stoic face. "It's a joke Rick. Lighten up." Elijah said and walked away.
"Right." Alaric said.

Jeremy enters Mystic Grill and spots Bonnie sitting at a table gazing at nothing. "Whatcha thinking about?" he asked her.
She smiled and blushed. "About last night." She said. Jeremy also smiled. "Yeah me too." He said.
"It was a tough spell." She said. Jeremy agreed knowing that magic was slowing draining her.
"How about you come over tonight, we can practice. Get stronger." Jeremy said after stumbling on his words.
"Yeah, sure. Thanks." Bonnie said as she blushed. Jeremy looked around the establishment and noticed Luka coming towards them. "Ah incoming." Jer muttered.
Luka came at their table with an angry expression. "You want to tell me what happened yesterday?" he asked them.
"Sorry?" Bonnie asked.
"Don't play dumb. You were both her and..." Luka started.
"And?" Jeremy questioned him.
"And that's all I remember. One minute, I'm playing poor and the next I'm waking up in a bathroom stall." Luka spat out.
"Sorry Luka but everything seemed normal yesterday. I brought you coffee and we played pool." Bonnie said trying to convince him.
"See I think you're lying." Luka growled and moved closer to Bonnie. Bonnie flinched since she wasn't expecting that reaction. Jeremy took a stance. "Hey I think you need to back off." He told Luka.
Luka looked at both of them and left.

Rayna woke up cuddled on Mason's chest. She was happy that Mason was back at the house. He just belonged there with her and Ava. She snuggled closer and kissed his chest. Mason moaned and pulled her closer.
Rayna couldn't stay in bed all day so she quietly got up and went into the bathroom to do her morning business. She slipped on new jammies and headed to Ava's room. She noticed her daughter slowly waking up. "Hey baby." She whispered.
Ava got up from bed and ran towards her mom. "Mama. I dream about you." Rayna chuckled. "Oh yeah munchkin?" she said. Ava nodded and snuggled into her mom's embrace. Rayna led her to the bathroom to get Ava ready.
Ava used the potty and brushed her teeth. They both walked downstairs to make breakfast for Mason. Ava was happy that her daddy and mommy were back together. She never fully understood why they weren't together. She could tell they loved each other very much.
Mason tried to get more sleep he reached out to grasp Rayna but her side was empty. He was silently hoping she didn't regret last night. He slipped on some shorts and a beater and headed downstairs once he went to the bathroom.
He smelled breakfast being cooked as he walked near the kitchen. He heard his girls laughing and singing. He walked in and seen Ray dancing with Ava. He laughed softly and went up behind ray and grabbed her hips so she was flushed against his groin.
"Good morning." He whispered in her ear. Rayna got out of his grasp and kissed him. "Good morning." She said.
Ava grabbed onto Mason's leg. "Good morning Daddy." She said and smiled at him. Mason picked her up and kissed her. "Good morning princess." He said.
"Okay so breakfast is ready and served." Rayna said as she placed the plates on the kitchen island.

Back at the Gilbert Lake house, Stefan was telling Elena about the rough first months of being a vampire.
"For weeks I kept spiraling. I was completely driven by the desire for blood. Hunt, prey, and kill. That's all I knew." Stefan said.
"How come no one knew what you were doing?" Elena questioned him.
"Mm...There was a war going on. The thing about wartime; endless anonymous blood supply." Stefan continued. "Alexia Branson, as she was known back then." Stefan said as he was brought back from the memory.
"Lexi? Your best friend Lexi? That's how you met her? What was she even doing in Mystic Falls?" Elena asked.
"She heard it was a good place for vampires. You know, no one had any idea that they'd been massacred. She needed a place to crash so I brought her home with me." Stefan said.

Mason finished his breakfast before anyone and sat there drinking his orange juice. "Ray that was delicious, but then again everything about you is delicious." Mason seductively told her. She hit his arm. "Not in front of Ava." she scolded him. He chuckled and looked at Ava who was playing with her pancakes.
"What's the matter?" He asked her. She looked up at him and then Rayna. "Mama I don't like the new man in town." She said softly.
Rayna looked confused and looked at Mason for support. "What man?" she asked Ava.
Mason cleared his throat. "The new writer, Elijah Smith, I think his name was." He said
Rayna froze. How did they meet? She questioned herself. "What happened Ava?" she asked her daughter.
Ava looked at her mom and ran to her. Rayna picked her up. "I touched him and saw what he done. Mama he bite people and eat blood." She said as her lip quivered. Mason was pissed. That's why she was so scared and why she couldn't stop crying. Mason thought.
"Come here baby girl." Mason told Ava. Ava went to her father. "Nothing will touch you and he won't come near you again. I promise." Mason told her and wiped her tears. Ava nodded and snuggled with daddy.
"So Mason, how are we going to handle an original vampire during the full moon? I know that it isn't going to be painful for Ava but she's always confused when she shifts." Rayna asked him.
Mason shook his head. "I will protect her. My wolf already knows her scent and I promise nothing will ever happen to her when she is with me." He told her. Ray nodded and kissed him and Ava and she started cleaning dishes.
I need to talk to Elijah and make sure nothing does happen. She thought. She looked back at her heart and realized she will do anything to make sure they live.
