Today was a special day; the second year anniversary of when Shikamaru had first asked Yui out. He said that he had made sure he had nothing planned today because he wanted to spend the whole day with her. It was a special day and it meant something to Yui as well as him. He didn't have anything special or superficial planned, mind you. Just a whole day free of any kind of work and completely dedicated to them. Even Yui had asked for the day off from Ichiraku who had gladly agreed.

Neither were doing anything major at the moment. They were both at Shikamaru's favorite cloud watching spot laying down with Yui laying on his should and his arms around her protectively. A day like this couldn't get any better for Shikamaru. This was bliss to him, as was it to Yui.

"Look at that one, Shikamaru!" Yui said pointing to a cloud that was directly above them. "Doesn't it look like flower?"

He chuckled softly "Yeah, it sort of does." He said turning his head to the side and studying it. But before Yui dropped her hand back down he reached up and placed a simple silver band on her ring finger. She stared at it for a moment before she realized it's meaning in a matter of seconds and turned her head so she was facing him. "I'm not very smooth at this sort of thing but… Will you marry me?" Shikamaru said and she smiled widely.

Then she became serious "No," She said and Shikamaru actually looked hurt but she quickly kissed him "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I was just assuring myself of my own free will." She said quickly and her smile returned. "Of course I'll marry you!"

She heard him let out a sigh of relief and he kissed her back. "Don't do that." He said in between kisses.

"I'm sorry," she said again as he pulled her on top of him and wrapped his arms around her waist. Her legs sat on either side of him and she rested her elbows on the ground beside his head as she deepened the kiss.

Shikamaru took Yui back to his house to tell his parents and they held hands the whole way; fingers intertwined together. They both stepped through the front door and Shikaku and Yoshino were sitting in the living room so they walked over. Yoshino smiled when she saw the both of them and nudged her husband who sat beside her on a couch.

"You two finally rejoin society." Shikaku said.

"We spent the day watching clouds, how was that leaving society?" Shikamaru asked.

"Because no one saw hide nor tail of either of you all day," He replied "It's the middle of the afternoon and you two just now come back."

"It was an important day; we didn't want to spend it with everyone."

"I can see that." Yoshino put in as she saw the ring on Yui's finger after the sun reflected of it. Shikamaru smiled proudly and lifted up Yui's hand—still intertwined with his—so that his parents could see the ring more clearly.

Shikaku faked some sobs "My son if finally a man." He said and Shikamaru lazily rolled his eyes at his father. His mother, however, had a more direct approach to the whole thing as she got up and excitedly hugged the couple while squealing.

"Finally!" She would shout as she continued to hug them and then she kissed both of their cheeks before pulling away and staring at her son and her new daughter-to-be.

"Break us in half why don't you, mom." Shikamaru said as he took a deep breath from having just suffered a death hug from his mother.

"Sorry," Yoshino said "I'm just so excited!"

"You and me both," Yui said with a smile.

...

"You look beautiful Yui." Yoshino said.

"I don't think I can do this. I'm so nervous." Yui replied as she stared at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a gorgeous strapless wedding dress and had a bouquet of red roses in her hand.

"You'll be fine my dear. This is your big day, be happy! And every woman is always nervous before her wedding; even the groom feels the same. It's just natural." Yoshino reassured her. Yui took a deep breath and then Yoshino placed the veil over her head and it fell down and hugged at Yui's body.

...

Shikamaru had proposed to Yui only six months prior to this day and now… the big day was here. The only thing Yui would have changed about today was having her father here to give her away but she knew he was gone and simply lived on in her heart. So she braved that walkway alone as she made her way up to Shikamaru who looked absolutely handsome in his tuxedo. She smiled as he held his hand out for her and she took it as she made her way up the few steps to stand next to him. Then their priest gestured for them to step forward.

"The rings," He said as Naruto walked up with the two rings on a pillow and both Shikamaru and Yui took them from him. "Now, have either of you prepared something or would you like me to guide you through this?" The priest whispered.

"I've prepared something." Yui said and the priest gestured for her to go ahead. "Shikamaru Nara, I love you with all my heart and I've dreamed of this moment. The only thing I regret is that my father wasn't here to give me away, but I know he's smiling at me from his resting place.

"I promise to always treat you with the respect you deserve, to love you through all the hardship, and to support you in all your decisions. You're the man I've always dreamed of being with but never thought it would actually happen. I'll never leave you for any reason and I promise to remain by your side forever." Then Yui slipped the ring on Shikamaru's ring finger. The priest then turned to Shikamaru who didn't have anything prepared but he knew what he wanted to say so he braved an unprepared vow,

"Yui Yui, you're a woman whose worth is beyond anything I could afford and I'm grateful that you're mine. I could never sway or woo you with cheesy words or love poems—that's just not me—but I hope that I've never disappointed you.

"I would promise that I'll always be there for you but I know that eventually I'd fail to fulfill that so I just promise that I'll never stop loving you and I'll treat you the way an amazing woman like you should be treated. I'll brave all the hardship because I'll know that in the morning I'll be able to wake up to your beautiful face," and at that everyone awed "You're more than I deserve but I wouldn't trade you for anything." Then Shikamaru placed the ring in his hand on Yui's ring finger.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife," The priest said "You may kiss the bride." Shikamaru didn't wait another moment—he didn't need to be told twice.

He grabbed Yui by the back of her head and her waist and dipped her as he kissed her passionately and everyone present cheered. He held that position with her as she wrapped her arms around his neck before he pulled her back up and intertwined his fingers with hers.

The after party of the wedding was really more for the guests but Shikamaru and Yui stuck around for a while and danced and ate some cake as well as were toasted to. The champagne was definitely a different taste to Yui who had never touched alcohol in her life but she enjoyed it. Though she probably wouldn't touch the stuff again after today was over. The newlywed only really stuck around for the next hour and a half or so before Shikamaru unexpectedly picked up his wife bridal style and began walking to her house; everyone cheering him on as he left.

Yui turned the doorknob on her front door since Shikamaru's hands were full and pushed the door open. Shikamaru smirked at her as he stepped inside and then set her down. Though he merely kicked the door shut behind him as he kissed Yui and wrapped his arms around her waist. It was her turn to smirk in the kiss as her arms stealthily wrapped around his neck; one hand on his neck and the other untying his ponytail and letting his hair fall to his shoulders.

She then felt his hand slid up her side and reach the zipper that was on the side of her dress. He pulled the zipper down and her dress fell to the floor leaving her in just her underwear. He smiled proudly in their kiss as he ran his hands over every inch of her body knowing that she was all his. Her arms had moved from around his neck to the buttons on the front of his tuxedo as she undid them and pushed the coat off his shoulders and then moved to his shirt—that too falling to the ground eventually. The bowtie she merely tugged on and it came undone easily and she threw it somewhere behind her. His pants didn't stay on much longer either.

He then pulled her up on him as her legs wrapped around his waist and he then walked her into her room where he planned on having her.
