TRIS

There's something wonderful about living in the now. Like everything that has happened, everything that will happen only matters in your mind.

"Four lines up the shot, he places his ball exactly and a eight and a quarter millimeters away from the eight ball. If he makes this shot, he could win. Beating the ridiculously marvelous Tris Prior, who is in fact, a pool shark." He commentates.

"Make the damn shot." Christina says from the couch curled up in Will's arms. The movie is in full fledge, Johnny Depp cutting hedges like it's nobody's job.

"He shots," Tobias says carefully drawing back his cue. A tiny popping fills the air and the ball lands in the pocket. "He scores!" He cheers dropping cue on the table. "I win!"

I roll my eyes. "Good game."

"No." He says stopping, his eyes suddenly serious. "You, good game. You have game. Tris Prior has game."

"She's got game, we get it!" Christina says. "If you're not gonna watch then leave."

I stare at Christina who's pretty cozy with Will. She probably wants us to leave…. "Adios chica." I say grabbing Tobias' hand. "Hasta mañana y gracias."

"Au revior et merci!" Tobias says mimicking me and stubbing out her back door.

"I didn't know you spoke French." I say.

He half smiles. "Well you know, British boarding school and what not." There's a silent pause as we walk to his car. "I didn't know you spoke Spanish."

"Well you know, Chicago public school system and what not." He laughs. "How do you say….. Best friend in Spanish?"

"Either mejor amigo or mejor amiga depending on if it's a boy or a girl." I explain.

"How do you say you are?" He asks starting the car.

"Tú eres."

He clears his throat, "Tris Prior tú eres mejor amaiga."

I smile, ignoring the mi he left out between eres and mejor.

"Igualmente." I say rolling down the window. "Likewise."

We pull out of Christina's driveway and onto the main road. "What year of Spanish are you in?" He asks turning on his radio to a low indie station.

"Spanish four." I reply. "Four. Ha-ha." I joke.

He smirks still focused on the road. "Very funny."

I smile again as we drive down the road in a comfortable silence. Sometimes you become so immune to certain things you don't even realize they're there until you're forced to digest them. The near full moon sleeping quietly in the periwinkle sky, is one of the thing I've been missing.

The roaring sun sinks behind us, reflecting a dark blue at the top of the sky tickling down and loosing shade until it's nothing but the shade of a newborn's nursery.

Tobias pulls into my driveway and stops the car. "What is my car doing here?" I think out loud staring at the ugly old green truck back in my driveway.

"I don't know." He says.

I exhale and press my mouth into a line. "Rhetorical question." I put my hand on the handle of the car. "I'll see you at school tomorrow, okay?"

He nods and smiles. "I'll see you then." I open the door of the car and step into my driveway. "Blink the light in the house to let me know you're in okay?" He phrases like a question. "It doesn't look like anyone's home."

"Alright." I say licking my lips, the warm fabric of my coat draped over my hands. "Goodnight, Tobias."

"Goodnight, Tris Prior." He says.

I turn around and open the front door, blinking the porch lights and waving goodbye to him.

"Hello?" I call in the house.

"Up here!" Caleb's voice ululates from his room.

I sprint up the stairs, kicking my boots off in the middle of the hallway. The wood from his door is cold as my fingers drum along it. "Can I come in?" I ask raising my voice a few octaves.

"Enter at your own risk." He replies. I enter to see him sitting at his desk intensely focused on a computer game.

"What are you playing?" I ask throwing my jacket on his bed and making myself comfortable. He's bed has always made mine seem like a rock.

He presses his keyboard a few times, a heavy gun sound wails from his speakers. "Grand Theft Auto."

The name barely registers in my mind. "Isn't that a Fall Out Boy song?"

He chuckles. "That's Grand Theft Autumn/Where is Your Boy?"

"Ah." I say pulling the blanket at the foot of his bed over my cold legs. "Where are Mom and Dad?"

He shrugs, "Dinner with some friends or something. They'll probably be back in a few hours."

"Cool." I say pressing my face into his soft blue comforter. From his open blinds, I can see the neighborhood houses, quiet and content.

Just like me.

HEY Y'ALL! Long time no talk! *BEAR HUG* I've decided to start this story back up. Get excited because I have NO IDEA what I'm gonna do… About this chapter: I'm sorry that it was kind crappy but I had to make it fit into the last one so that I could get back on track. The story (I hope) will start to take some shape instead of being "Hey! let's do this thing" and "Hey! Let's do that thing!"

If I got any details wrong CORRECT ME because I haven't looked at this story since May so I don't remember.

It's good to be back. If you need anything or have any idea's PM me or review! Also if you have an Allegiant hangover and need a good alternate ending may I recommend "The Future We Chose" by my good friend Ella (aka 123lovestory).

If I don't update by Friday, SOMEONE YELL AT ME because I'm actually going to try to stick with this story and be constant.

Love Y'all :)
