Alrighty Chapter 13 enjoy :)
Zarbon and Vegeta stared each other down, both were equally confident in their fighting ability. I was rooting for Vegeta and I hoped that we had both had enough time away from Frieza's wretched ship that Vegeta had regained his strength.
Both of them looked at each other waiting for one of them to make the first move. I watched their muscles ripple and then in a split second Zarbon moved over to Vegeta and attempted to give him a blow in the stomach.
Instead of taking it the blow, Vegeta was quick enough to grab Zarbon's fist and growl at him. He began to crush him fingers breaking three of them in several sickening snaps.
Zarbon's face curled up in pain but he quickly jerked his hand back and held it to his chest rubbing his knuckles.
"You sure you can take me in your pretty-boy form?" Vegeta asked teasing. Zarbon's face curved in disgust.
"Of course I can take you! I don't need to get my hands dirty because of some stupid ape like you!" He brushed his dark green locks of hair out of his face showing how vain he was and how much he cared about his looks and his hair.
"Think again!" Vegeta said running at him with flashing speed and giving him a swift kick in the gut shoving him back against the pavement scratching and peeling his flawless skin. Zarbon got to his feet, more irritated than anything else.
"Is that all you got?" Zarbon asked, "You're not much without you usual power level are you?" He asked mockingly.
"You dare underestimate me!" Vegeta came at Zabon and it was almost a blur to me. I heard the smack of fist against skin and watched as Vegeta gave a few good punches and Zarbon fought back. To me they look equally matched.
As quickly as it had started Vegeta and Zarbon sprang apart. There were several tears in Vegeta's armor and Zarbon's hair was loose from its tight braid.
"It's been a while since you guys sucked my power," Vegeta said mockingly, he had the upper hand on Zarbon, "What's the matter? Can't control me without zapping away my energy?"
Vegeta was pissed and cocky, almost to the point where it was scary. I almost wanted to tell him that being so cocky wasn't a good thing and that he shouldn't let his guard down.
"You wanna get dirty stupid monkey!?" Zarbon said running at Vegeta with his fist held outward.
Vegeta stopped him and easily deflected his punch and dodged to the side.
"Looks like you're a lot slower and weaker than I remember," Vegeta chuckled menacingly.
Zarbon growled and sent a green shot of power towards Vegeta and as soon as it hit Vegeta was finished laughing. It dragged him almost to the outskirts of the pavement and blew up staining his clothes and burning holes through the dark blue fabric.
"What don't act surprised! You don't actually expect to win this battle?" Zarbon looked smug as Vegeta brushed himself off and walked forward.
"I'm a little weak from your damn power zapping machine but I have just enough energy to kick your ass!" Vegeta barked.
I gasped as Vegeta lifted off the ground flying.
"You can fly!?" I shouted.
"Of course I can stupid earth woman! Why wouldn't I be able to?" Vegeta snapped at me.
"You wanna take this to the air?" Zarbon said lifting off the ground as well.
They can both fly! I thought as I backed up to the supermarkets back door. I imagined what kind of explosions would be going on if Vegeta was capable of destroying a whole stadium.
Vegeta raised a glowing ball of violet light in his hands and let it go on Zarbon in one explosive shot knocking him backwards.
Zarbon responded by creating a red power and released it on Vegeta thrusting it toward Vegeta's body. Vegeta held his hands out to stop it but found himself getting shoved backward and kept himself from getting blown up until he gave the red power burst a good punch and sending it sailing back to Zarbon.
It crashed against Zarbon sending him shooting down towards the earth where he hit violently and I heard him groan in pain.
"Alright you asked for this!" Zarbon asked clenching his fists and concentrating.
"Wow your actually gunna show your true colors Zarbon?" Vegeta asked smirking.
I didn't understand what Vegeta meant. Weren't his true colors already showing?
"You just wait Vegeta, this lapse in appearance will be the last ugly sight you'll see!" Zarbon growled.
His green body shook and he let out a yell and I watched as his skin seemed to stretch and inflate and he grew into some sort of hideous monster. His body grew and was one of the more ugly things I had seen in life. Growths and strange bumps grew on his skin and he looked more like a reptile now.
The attractive, cunning Zarbon was gone and now was replaced with this green, hideous monster. It was almost scary.
"Ready for this!" Zarbon yelled as he launched himself up into the air to face Vegeta.
"Shit! What the hell just happened!?" I screamed.
"Well you see Bulma," Vegeta said casually smirking at Zarbon, "The universe is filled with creeps like this guy, he morphs into a more powerful form when he is too weak to take on his opponent."
I heard myself gasp and my hands went to my mouth, he was a disgusting creature. I regretted ever thinking Zarbon was even somewhat cute.
I was rooting for Vegeta and the best I could do was only cross my fingers and pray for him to be able to take Zarbon.
Zarbon advanced towards Vegeta and he was right, Zarbon was much faster and stronger, almost as if he wasn't the same fighter.
Zarbon began to throw punches and it was a blur from the ground where I was but Vegeta was getting fresh bumps and bruises. Zarbon was just too fast.
Vegeta's tall black hair swayed as he dodged attacks and then in a split second Vegeta broke the cycle and punched Zarbon in the gut causing him to back off and give Vegeta the half a second he needed to gather a purple ball of energy and cast it away at Zarbon.
Zarbon easily deflected it and punched it high in the sky.
Zarbon moved to Vegeta and before either one of us knew what was happening, Zarbon hammered Vegeta on the head and sent him falling to the ground leaving a deep crater in the pavement where he impacted.
"Vegeta!" I ran forward holding back tears. I needed to help him.
As soon as I bent down to see if he was alright I watched as his fists clenched and he pulled himself up and shot right back up in the sky to keep fighting.
Vegeta began to yell as energy seemed to glow around him. He got a shot a golden beam of power at Zarbon and just as it hit him square in the chest Vegeta was already there to give him a well deserved punch in the chin.
For a second there was an awkward silence and then Zarbon fell to the ground. He landed beside me causing me to scream and shuffle away.
Vegeta landed next to me.
"What happened? Whats wrong?" I asked looking anxiously at Zarbon's body.
"He's just unconscious!" Vegeta growled bending over and placing his palm over Zarbon's chest.
"What are you-" I started.
I saw a blast of violet light and all that was left was a clean hole that cut through Zarbon's chest where Vegeta had blasted him. Yes this wasn't fair to Zarbon but we didn't care, this was kinda important.
Zarbon was dead.
"Come on let's get out of here Bulma," Vegeta grabbed me and we flew off.
