Alright. Last time, it was revealed that Validar was in fact Robin's father, and that their main priest was identicle to him in every way! Chrom and company had finished off an army of Risen, though one of them caught Chrom off-guard. He was saved by Lucina, who rushed out of the forest yelling 'Father'. What was she talking about?
Chapter 13
Reunion
"Alright Marth, what is going on here? That is, if Marth really even is your name." He looked quizically at the young woman before him, who shied away.
"Well, there isn't any reason to hold back now," she said to no one in particular. She put a dtermined look on her face and walked over to Chrom, and once she got there, she looked him right in the eyes. Chrom was shocked. He looked in her left eye, and what he saw was...
"That's the... Brand of the Exalt... Lucina..." He looked down at her sword. "You deserved better from me than one sword and a world of troubles. I'm sorry."
After he said that, tears began sliding down Lucina's face. Chrom reached forward and wiped away one of the tears, causing Lucina to hug him tightly, saying 'father' between sobs. Chrom caressed the poor girl, slowly easing the sobs away.
Eventually, the tears stopped. "Better?"
Lucina nodded. "Better."
Suddenly, Robin walked over to them from the forest. "Chrom? What are you two doing out here? And why is Marth... crying. This is how ill rumors are born."
As if on que, Link stepped out from behind him. "Hold it, Robin. Don't come to any sudden conclusions. Hear them out."
Lucina smiled at him then turned to Chrom. "Should we tell him?"
Chrom gave a short nod the walked forward to his two friends. "Link, Robin, this is Lucina, my... daughter."
The look on Robin's face of one of absolute shock, but Link just laughed a little.
"What, don't you believe me?"
Link smiled a little bit. "Oh, I believe you. I just already knew."
Then it was Chrom's turn to be shocked. "WHAT!? Then why didn't you tell me?"
"Because since she is your daughter from the future, there would be a pretty good chance that if I told you I could jepardize her existance."
Chrom seemed to understand, and nodded. "Oh. Yeah, that."
And for the third time in the past four minutes, someone popped out of the forest. This time however, it was Sumia, Chrom's wife.
"Chrom, what is taking so lo- Oh Gods, it's... HER!"
Lucina looked at Chrom, who gave a slight nod. Lucina stepped forward and went to Sumia. "Sumia, I know this may come as a shock to you, but... I'm your... daughter. From the future."
While Robin's face was one of pure shock, Sumia's was of absolute denial. "Wha- That's not possible! Time travel? As if!"
Lucina stepped even closer, howing Sumia her left eye. "Look."
She looked at her eye, and was startled be the mark in her eye. "How is this..."
Chrom put a hand ob Sumia's shoulder. "Now do you understand?"
Sumia shook her head violently. "No, I do NOT understand! Wait, what happened to my Lucina!? What have you done with her!?"
Lucina took a pecautionary step back. "She is safe, worry not."
Sumia took a while, but she came to terms with Lucina being her future daughter.
"Sumia..."
Sumia turned with a small smile on her face. "Aren't you going to call me mother?"
Lucina tensed up. "I... thought you might mind..."
Sumia placed a hand on her shoulder. "Are you kidding? I love you more than anything else in the world."
Tears threatned Lucina again. "M-Mother..."
Sumia quickly hugged her before thetears could begin, and Lucina hugged her back. Sumia carressed her the whole time. "Shhh... It's okay now, mother's here. Better?"
Lucina was still sniffling, but she nodded. Link was leaning on a tree, and had then stepped forward. "Lucina, you need to tell them why you came back." His tone was evident that Lucina had seen some pretty bad times, and that he knew.
She nodded. "Very well, this is what happened..."
Flashback- er, forward?
Everything was burning. The capitol, the castle, there was nothing spared from the blaze.
The room in the castle was crawling with Risen, and extremly powerful ones at that. The few soldiers that could be spared to protect Ylisse weren't holding up well. Several were dead, and even more were on their way. One soldier had been struck in the back with an axe thrusted in, shattering bones and armor. Another was knocked down, and a Risen crawled on to of him, and using it's axe, decapitated him without hesitation.
Meanwhile, another soldier was pressed against a wall, a Risen getting ready to slam it's axe into her skull. But then, it suddenly stopped and looked down to see... a sword peircing it's chest. Behind it, was Lucina, holding Falchion inside the beast's chest.
"I believe the woman you want... Is me!"
Upon saying the last two words, she swung the blade up cleaving through the beast's heart and causing it to disintegrate.
"We can't let these thing win. Now, pick up a sword. And fight!"
Present
"...And that was about the most of it. I come from a future where none of you survived, not even you, Link."
She then turned her gaze to the green-clad warrior, who tensed up.
"So, I perish, huh? How?"
Lucina shrugged. "I don't know the most detailed parts, but you were supposed to have been betrayed by one of your closest friends."
Link's eyes widened, the only emotion he still allowed to show through these days.
"Well, there are only so many people actually worthy of that title."
Lucina nodded. "Yes. I will join you all in your cause now, so that we can hopefully prevent that horrible future."
They all nodded and headed back to camp, except for Link and Lucina. Link began to look at the stars above, and Lucina sat down next to him and leaned her head on his shoulder. He turned to her and smiled.
"It's good to have you back, Lucina."
She smiled back at him. "Did I ever really leave?"
Link smiled and reached into his pocket and pulled out a small blue ocarina. He began playing a quiet yet beautiful tune that just seemed to ease the world of it's pain. Lucina smiled and wrapped her arms around Link's waist, prompting him to smile and place his arm around her neck. She smiled one of her rare, genuine smiles.
"I wish that things could just stay like this. Sadly, we both know what the future holds."
Link grew solemn. "My death."
Lucina nodded. "But until that time comes, I want to spend every moment with you to the fullest."
Link smiled at her. "As do I. Lucina, I have something for you."
He then reached into his pocket and pulled out a small golden ring.
"Lucina, will you marry me?"
The happiness in Lucina's eye couldn't be described. "Yes! Oh, Link, yes!"
They then kissed. Witnessing the event, Chrom, Robin, and Sumia were smiling.
"Awww!"
Chrom pulled Sumia in close. "He's a good man. She couldn't have found a better husband."
Even Robin had to admit, the were made for each other.
