It was Friday Morning and Daryl had been back at Work since Monday, he had to go in for the last week before the summer so he would get paid for the holidays. He was incredible reluctant to leave Carol as she was still in pain but he was reassured by Carol every two minutes before he left that she was ok .

He had just finished his class and was sitting at his desk, he looked at the time and picked up his cell phone and dialled Carols number.

"Hello?"

"Hey Darling , how are you?"

"Yeah I'm good Daryl, Missing you! I bet your happy that it's your last day?"

"Yeah I am, I have a end of term meeting straight after so will be home by 4:30. What have you done today Darling?"

"Umm not much…"

"Carol? I hope you haven't been straining your self! You know you still need a few more weeks of resting!"

"Ok, ok, ok I started cleaning the bathroom and kitchen as I was bored out of my mind! But I'm fine honestly , I'm sitting down now resting."

Daryl Huffed,

"Carol , you know I will do all that when I'm home . I know you think your not doing anything but I never think anything like that. You don't have to worry ok Hun."

He could hear Carol laughing gently over the phone,

"Ok Daryl , your too kind to me but I am capable of doing a little bit ok!"

Daryl chuckled

"Ok sweets, did you eat the sandwich I made you in the fridge ?"

"Mmm yeah I did , was great thanks, listen Daryl can I ask you something? I need to go back to my house tonight as I need to see if the lawyer sent the letter about Ed's sentence and money. Also I need more clothes and bits. Could you take me tonight please?"

Daryl tensed up at the sound of that bastards name,

"Daryl?"

"Yeah Hun of course I will , are you sure your up to it? I could do it for you?"

"No it's something I have to do… I haven't been back since … You know"

Daryl closed his eyes , he didn't know how Carol had the strength to go back in there , all he kept seeing since that day was Ed tearing into her , it replayed over and over in his mind at night but Carol didn't know that and he intended to keep it like that .

"Ok then Hun , I will see you at 4:30 and please don't do anything more today ok, just rest"

"Ok bye Daryl"

When Daryl got home that night , he was greeted to the sight of Carol making Cookies. He smiled at the sight of her dressed in one of his old shirts that was a dress on her. He leant against the door frame and said,

"Watch-a doing pretty lady"

Carol jumped at the sound of his voice and smiled when she saw him, she put the hot tray on the counter and took off her oven gloves , she walked over to him and wrapped her hands around his neck and kissed him. She groaned into the kiss when he started running his hands down her back, she broke the kiss and said,

"I'm making cookies , there chocolate chip!"

Daryl rubbed his stomach and said,

"Mmh my favourite"

Carol laughed and said,

Well I'm gunna finish these and once you have showered and relaxed , maybe we can go?"

Daryl smile vanished and was replaced by a look of concern,

"Are you definitely sure Carol? I mean I can grab all that girly shit and the letters for ya?"

Carol shook her head and said,

"Look Daryl that is so sweet of you but I need to do this, that house is mine now and I need to eventually face being there."

Daryl nodded understanding but secretly felt a pang in his chest at the thought of her not living here anymore.

"Right well I will shower and then we will go"
