Wake up call

"You do know she's going to kill you, right?" Katherine stated.

She honestly thought Kai was crazy that he could not see the outcome of his terrible plan. That whatever game he as playing with Bonnie, would not end well.

"I would love to see the little witch try." He grinned.

He sat back in what he called it his 'business chair', resting his legs on top of his desk in the lazy manner he usually did. He enjoyed watching Katherine get riled up over his crazy ideas. Oh boy, she had no idea what he had really done. He only told her the obvious part about giving Bonnie a magical sleeping drug in the little present he gave her, enough to knock her out for a few hours and work on reducing her power. It would not take away her power completely, as he wanted a semi-fair fight between them. Considering it would not be as much fun if she was completely powerless.

"Are you seriously that confident? She is a Bennett, Kai. Not to mention she had handed back the asses of every big enemy the world had ever known, including the blonde hybrid asshole that I spent five hundred plus years running from." She threw up her arms in exasperation, hoping he was seeing her point.

Of course in typical Kai -fashion, he merely shrugged like it made no difference to him.

"I don't really care, she has to pay one way or another. Besides your stupid fears are unfounded, I'm not just any enemy." He was confident in his ability to handle Bonnie.

"which part of she is a Bennett, and not to mention has beat enemies worse than ourselves, do you not understated?" her tone becoming angry.

Kai joined her in anger with a frown of annoyance. He was getting fed up with her and everyone else underestimating him. This time he would show them all, show them that nobody messes with Kai Parker and gets away with it unscathed.

"Okay first of all kitty-Kat, I'm a Parker. As in my fucked up family goes back centuries, on the list of oldest witch families after the Bennetts. Not to mention my dysfunctional ancestors and family have worked with the Bennetts many times. In fact I believe it was her bitch grandmother that helped build that little prison world I spent the biggest portion of my life in, so yeah I am well acquainted with them. Secondly -"

He got up and came to stand in front of her, hands in the pockets of his dark suit. He looked the picture of intimidation, causing her to shiver a little. She had faced off worse than Kai in her long lifetime, but she knew he was not someone you wanted to be on the bad side of.

"Secondly - I already told you I'm not like those other brain-dead enemies she faced. Sure they were as bad as you can get, but the difference is they had no personal vendetta against her. Her cute little self could fly under the radar and take them out when they were too focused on their plans. This is different, this is personal, she is the target, and I'm the devil coming to collect." He smiled like the devil himself as he said this.

She considered this, watching him carefully as he moved past her to grab an old dusty book from the shelf behind her. It appeared to have some spells in it, written in another language, the pages old and falling apart. He was focused on looking through the pages, and she knew when he was focused on something that usually meant trouble.

"What is that?" she nodded towards the picture in the book he studied.

He smiled in that boyish-cute way of his, not revealing anything.

"Curious little cat aren't we? perhaps I will tell you later." He continued to eye the picture he was focused on.

She brushed back a long curl of hair that had been bugging her, walking towards him to get a better look at what had him so interested.

"Why do I do I get the feeling you did more that just spell her wine?" she whispered behind him, knowing his vampire-hearing would pick it up.

That caused a happy smile to grace his features, thinking about what he had done. It would be revealed to Bonnie soon. She would be angry about the little present first, coming over to give him a big power-slap. He of course was eagerly expecting it. He could not wait to see that cute little face of hers lit up with anger, her beautiful curvy body shaking in rage. Her gorgeous bronze skin he always wanted to lick clean would be glowing as usual. Not to mention those piercing green eyes that he could never look away from for long, he just wanted to stare at her pretty face all day.

There would be plenty of time for that. The thought of her anger causing him to almost growl in ecstasy, not even noticing Katherine depart mumbling something about 'I hope you know what you're doing' like he didn't plan ahead. He was seriously getting peeved with everyone doubting his ability to ruin people. His father and family had doubted his ability, he snorted knowing how that turned out for them. Of course sometimes he would feel the remains of Luke's guilt, that was there like a nagging voice at the back of his mind.

It was wrong what you did to them, to me, to all of us - it would whisper.

He of course would ignore it with his new found vampire nature, he could switch off his emotions and shut the voice up. For some reason - maybe due to him being half witch - it was easier to switch his emotions on and off, much like a light switch. Or it could be his already embedded sociopath nature that made it easy for him to shut his emotions off. If he was honest he rarely did that, since he already had a sadistic nature and liked to be caught up in his feelings sometimes. It always helped him remember why he was on the path of revenge.

He sent Luke a little message in his mind, hoping where ever his ghost is he received it.

If you think that was bad little Luke, you should see what I will do to her.

He laughed like he was the funniest thing in the world, and to him it truly was.

Bonnie:

Bonnie awoke to the chorus of her name being spoken aloud by several people. Her brain felt foggy, her head still aching and her bones weak with fatigue. She felt like she had skipped a week in time, much like how she felt in 1994 prison, where time seemed non existent to the point where days go past in a blur.

She opened her eyes, which was a difficult task as they felt stuck together with glue. Her vision was fuzzy as she felt several people looking down at her. Opening her eyes she found Caroline and Stefan looking down at her with worried expressions, along with Liv and Tyler.

"Bonnie what the hell just happened!" Caroline practically shouted in her face.

Bonnie rested her arm over her eyes, trying to find the answer to Caroline's question. What the hell had she been doing? she remembered having a drink, the wine that the cute guy gave her. After that everything felt like a blur. She could not recall anything that happened after, this was confirmed by Liv who was trying to feel her forehead with a frown.

"Bonnie you have been out for two damn hours, I was about to call an ambulance. I tried magic but it was not working on you. I was really scared Bon." Poor Liv looked anxious, a frown on her pretty features.

Bonnie could not get her head around what Liv was saying, magic not working? that was rare, extremely rare. Maybe if she was an ordinary human she could understand, but magic always had a stronger affect on witches.

"Are you sure?" Bonnie felt her throat hoarse as she spoke.

"Yes i'm sure Bonnie, I tried several healing spells and nothing would work," Liv confirmed.

"She's not lying Bonnie, we stayed around watching Liv for an hour trying to put some mojo spell on you," Tyler sounded as worried as Liv.

"They're right Bonnie, I even offered my blood but wasn't sure if it could help." Stefan looked like he was willing to offer it again, which made Bonnie almost smile.

"Like she wants your dirty vampire blood," Tyler's voice was full of anger. Another argument was surely going to break out.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean, Tyler?" Caroline accused, crossing her arms and glared at her ex.

"You know what it means Caroline, it means you damn vampires are always around when there is a problem. I mean everything was peachy fucking keen for us over here in LA, you two show up and all of a sudden Bonnie's comatose!" Tyler was now shouting, causing Liv to wince.

"Are you serious Tyler? You're blaming Stefan and I for coming to see our friend, who we have not seen for freaking ever by the way. If you were not such a blind idiot Tyler, you could see we had nothing to do with Bonnie getting hurt." Caroline was getting equally as angry now.

"Bullshit, you think this stuff just happens out of nowhere? This was the reason we fucking left mystic falls and all it's shit behind. You vampires destroyed out lives, now we finally pick up and pieces and start living again, you turn up and Bonnie is hurt just like old times." Tyler was almost red with anger.

"Ty come on ease up honey, we have no idea what happened," Liv tried calming him down.

"No they should hear this Liv, I'm not having our lives messed up again because of these guys." He pointed to Stefan and Caroline.

Bonnie tried to ignore them, wanting to cover her ears and soothe her headache. Caroline looked like she was wearing clown blush with her now red angry cheeks, furious at Tyler's insinuation.

"Wow Tyler, that is low even for you, don't act like you're so pristine compared to us. You still turn into a dog when the moon is full, you're not some normal jock who finally graduated, got a cute girlfriend and moved to the city for a normal life. You're just another creature like us, your girlfriend and best friend happen to be witches, why the hell are you just picking on us?" Caroline crossed her arms as she began shouting insults in Tyler's direction.

"Caroline calm down, he's just worried," Stefan tried to soothe her.

"No Stefan, he's insulting us and insinuating we had something to do with Bonnie fainting out of nowhere." Caroline gave Bonnie a once over to check if she was okay, before going back to glaring at Tyler.

Bonnie now looked in their direction, and could see Tyler was about to get ready for another argument. Her head hurt and she didn't think she could take another shouting match between him and Caroline, so she decided she needed to get away.

"Look i'm fine, I think I know what happened." The truth was she didn't like the idea that her drink had been magically drugged.

She was going to kill that suave vampire asshole if it was the last thing she ever did.

"Was it that drink you had? I gave you the wine you left in the kitchen, but you only had one glass. Just how strong was that stuff Bonnie?" Liv asked.

"Yeah Bonnie please enlighten us, what the hell happened?" Caroline added.

She was tired of all the questions, knowing full well she would have to handle the handsome vampire alone. Plus she didn't understand why everyone was so worried about her now. She was good old reliable Bonnie, Miss-fix-it- herself, Miss - I will save everyone no questions asked. It felt weird that they were not all in the room with her with concerned faces. She just could not get used to it. She wondered what it would have been like if she had this kind of support in the past, and came to the conclusion that maybe she would have dealt with some of that deep seated trauma she still carried.

"Enough with all the questions guys! I'm fine, I will be fine. I just need to go for some fresh air." Hoping they would buy her excuse.

Caroline looked like she was about to argue, but a look from Stefan made her reconsider. Liv and Tyler looked accepting, but were going to grill her later when Caroline and Stefan had gone. Only Stefan looked at her with that strange-knowing. Like he could see right through her and her bs excuses, which maybe he did. She didn't honestly care as she had spent her whole teenage life- to adult in traumatic situations, dealing with everything herself.

"If you need help, let us know," Stefan sounded sympathetic as he said this.

He gave her a little nod urging her to get the meaning behind his words, which she did understand. He was clearly not talking about her needing help with getting some air.

"I will." She smiled back at him in thanks, before getting off the bed.

They were all about to rush to help her up, but she put up a hand warning them to back off. She was not one to receive help so easily and she always wanted to maintain her 'strong Bennett' image no matter what. Stefan let her pass by him, giving her that nod again in understanding. She was glad when she had managed to get outside and escape their interrogation.

Now heading to where she knew he would be.
