Draco felt his hair being stroked. He could hear a voice speaking his name softly as he stared at the darkness behind his eyelids. He wanted to sleep so badly. This had been one of the worst nights he had ever had. He had been woken up every hour on the hour by his mother. She could feel his mother's fingers brush over his cheek. "Draco." He heard her call to him softly. He made a slightly noise and let his eyes slowly pull open. He couldn't open them that long enough without them burning. Day light had come through and his mother was sitting to his side. "I need you to take your potion Draco." She whispered softly. He felt his eyes starting to droop more. "No sweetheart, stay awake."

Draco could feel his eyes rolling back as he was trying to open them again. He felt a pair of hands grab hold of him and lift him up slightly. They were too large and strong to be his mothers. Draco managed to get one eye to lift and saw his father. The look of concern was written all over his face. "Wake up son." He heard his father say in a clear voice. Why couldn't he just go back to sleep? "Just take your potions and you can go back to bed." He spoke. He could feel something cold against his lips and tried to register everything that was going on and being said. He felt a jolt sling through his leg and he jerked suddenly. The pain brought life through him.

He gave a cry of pain and he tried to curl his leg as if the position would comfort him and keep stop the throb running through it. He could feel his mother's arm go around him to hold him still. Draco gripped the blanket as his eyes quickly found the phials by his mother's leg, the open one in his father's hand. "Just take the potions Draco." Draco opened his mouth as he felt the cold glass to his lips once more. He took the potion down quickly and each was given to him quickly.

He could feel his mother running her fingers through his hair as he took in ragged breaths. How long was it since he had taken the others? Obviously the one potion had not been enough for the pain. Draco felt his father pat his leg as he let his mother stroke his head.

"What time is it?" He asked softly as he felt the pain dull a bit more. "Nearly noon." Draco heard his mother say softly in his ear. Draco nodded slowly. He could feel his eyes getting heavy once more. "Sleep." Was all he could manage. He never knew what hit him next. Darkness had closed in once more.

He never knew what hit him. Suddenly he was flung across the street, the explosion that had taken place brought pain and fear through him. There was nothing but smoke all around him. He could see lights coming through the thickness towards him. He gave a cry of fear and rolled across the ground behind a vehicle. What was going on? He crouched down and felt something hit him in the back. The laughter that rang through his ears caused his throat to clench and his stomach to turn. He knew it all too well. Another flash of light and he felt the pain sear through him like liquid fire.

Suddenly he was sitting up and rolling out of his bed. He tried to stand right away and his hand tried to find his wand. The fear clenched his gut more as he was unable to find his wand at his side. His leg gave up at the sudden standing and he hit the ground as he let out a yell. The door slammed open as he was trying to find his wand and fight of the searing pain.

He was in a panic as he tried looking under his bed. The world was in a different view for him. He saw himself searching under the car as his father saw his son in terror. Lucius ran over towards Draco and grabbed ahold of him. Draco let out a yell and gave a swing. His fist collided with Lucius' jaw and he was suddenly releasing Draco. Draco had gone back to looking for his wand in a panic. Lucius grabbed ahold of Draco as Narcissa came into the room. "What's wrong with him!?" Lucius held Draco closer to him. He had not spoken right away. "Draco!" He yelled at him. "Calm down." Narcissa quickly knelt down and took hold of Draco's hands.

Reality was coming back quickly and Draco felt nothing but pain in his leg. The fear was still holding onto him. He let out another cry of pain as he tried to work his leg from pain. His father's eyes were watching him. Draco could see a bruise starting to form on his father's jaw. What happened? He was home. He hadn't been out back on those streets. He had been in bed. He was suddenly clutching onto his father. He felt the tears start to build before he could do anything else.

Lucius felt his father's arms wrap around him tighter as he broke down. The fear had vanished somewhat but he was terrified over what had happened. The pain was hard and real. His leg was throbbing and aching. The fast movement and trying to stand so quickly had given it a shock. "What happened? All I heard was yelling. What'd you do to your jaw?" Draco was still shaking from the adrenaline and as they sat there he spoke softly, his voice muffled from his father's robes. "I was back there. I couldn't find my wand." He couldn't speak anymore.

Here he was, a man, reduced to tears and fear of dreams. It had been so real. "I'm sorry I hit you." He said finally. He felt his father squeeze him. "You didn't mean to." He said softly and Draco found himself ready to give in once more to the flood of emotions. "Get him into bed Lucius. He needs rest." Narcissa said softly. Draco pulled away from his father. Lucius was suddenly from the ground and taking Draco under the arms and helping him up just enough to fall onto the bed.

Draco pulled himself up along the bed, his leg dragging behind. He adjusted himself on his pillows and his mother sat on the edge of the bed as his father went towards the mirror to look at the damage done. "You need to get more sleep Draco." He shook his head. "I'm fine. I had enough." He said lying on the pillows. "You've only had about forty extra minutes from when we woke you up son." She whispered as she ran her fingers through his hair. "I am fine mother. I had enough sleep." He said trying to give her a smile.

Lucius looked towards the two of them. "How about some lunch then?" He asked. "You haven't had breakfast and I am sure you could eat a horse by now." Draco shook his head at his father watching the bruise darken. His stomach was still in a tight knot. He figured if he tried to take a bite he would end up puking it all up. His parents shared a look between each other and Draco looked at himself in the mirror. What was happening?

He heard the voices coming from the hall. It was midday and he felt drained. He had been terrified to try and get some more sleep in and when this evening came he wasn't too sure what would happen. Draco stared at the door as the voices drew closer. He heard the tap of knuckles on the door before it opened. Draco watched as Hermione walked through the door. He managed to smile and Hermione came up to the bed as Narcissa closed the door. Hermione sat on the edge of the bed and gave Draco a kiss. "How are you feeling?" She asked as he felt her fingers brush over his cheek.

"Horrible." He whispered. "I just took the full dose of the potion last night since I didn't know if I should take a bit every hour." Hermione took hold of his hand and squeezed it softly. "You look like you had a rough night." Draco smiled slightly. "I could do with a shave." He said as he felt her kiss him once more. "Your mother was explaining everything to me on the way up." Draco watched her for a moment and then looked out the window. "It's okay love." She spoke softly to him as she took his face into her hands and made him look at her. "I'm just sorry it's happening to you." He didn't know what to say to her. Writing was always so much easier. "I fell asleep and it just happened. I couldn't do anything." She adjusted herself on the bed and leaned back against the pillows with him and rested her head on his shoulder. "I saw where you hit your father." She said in a quiet voice.

Draco gave a small nod. 'I didn't know who he was." He said with a small shrug of his shoulder. Draco felt her breath on his neck as she placed a small kiss to it. He felt a chill down his back and he put an arm around Hermione. "I won't let anything happen to you." She said as she ran her fingers over his arm, her fingers passing over the scar that came from the battle. "I love you." Draco said as he laid back.

"I can get you your potion and you can sleep love." He laughed slightly. "My mother has pulled you to her side." Hermione ran her fingers through his hair and placed a soft kiss to his cheek. "No, I promise, you just look so worn out." Draco shook his head. "Honestly, I am scared to sleep." He said in a small voice as he shut his eyes. "I was going to die that night. I couldn't get out even when I was here. I wasn't here. I was there."

Hermione squeezed him and held him. "The potion had just worn out Draco. You just need to keep taking it every hour love. I'm working on trying to figure out if there was something missed, or if we can't fix it faster." He gave a small smile as he shook his head. "It would be just like you to start trying to do some homework." Hermione gave a laugh as she pressed her lips to his cheek. "If it can help you faster, it's not homework."

Hermione pulled a couple phials from her pocket and Draco rolled his eyes. "You and my mother, I swear." He said with a sigh. "You two are just going to be impossible. Now I know why you are here and allowed in my room without my mother hovering over us." Hermione smiled at him. "You wouldn't want to make me tell your mother I failed now would you?" She asked with a pout. Draco shook his head. Hermione pressed her lips to his and brushed her fingers over his unshaven jaw. "I'll stay here with you. I won't leave your side." She whispered to him. He stared into her eyes.

After a moment he took to taking both potions from her hand. He took the one Snape had made him. He made a face before unstopping the other one. He took a small drink from it. The results were instantaneous. He had felt tired to begin with, but his eyes were already drooping. Hermione knew exactly what was going to happen. Her hand was at the ready. Before the phial had left his lips she was already taking it.

He heard her speak to him as his eyes shut. "I love you, Draco." He tried to respond but his mind wasn't working right and his voice wouldn't come to him. He kept close to her as his head fell back against the pillow. He never knew what happened next as sleep had taken him over.
