Kim sighs as Tommy wraps her arms around her. My mother always taught me not licks my fingers around men but I had no idea he was standing in the archway. That was the last thought that she could muster because Tommy lifts Kim into his right arm and knocks the objects on the table onto the floor. Kim smiles up at Tommy as he leans down in front of her. Tommy's lips just a few inches from touching her lips.

The ringing of the telephone breaks the sexual tension. Tommy looks from Kim to the phone. "I think I should answer that." The faster I answer the quicker I can come back to you. He lifts his hands from either side of Kim's waist and walks over to the phone.

"Yes, I guess you should answer the phone." Kim leans down and plants her feet on the kitchen floor. You are with someone else and had a moment of weakness. He did not even notice the desserts I baked for him. I was trying to show him that I can be a good wife but he did not even seem to notice and now he is about to answer the phone no doubt to talk to Mary.

Tommy picks up the phone from the cradle. "Hello, this is Tommy."

"Mr. Oliver, my mother will not let me have a cookie and I thought you could talk to her for me," Joshua asks him.

"Oh, um well maybe your mother has a reason for you not to have a cookie at the moment," Tommy looks at Kim as she hops off the table. Ugh, I did not want her to move a muscle.

"But… Mr. Oliver, she let Lucy have two and she did not even eat her broccoli," Joshua whines.

"I am sure that she has a good reason for you not to have one," Tommy turns to look at Kim. Before he had a chance to stop her by holding up his hand she was waltzing out the room. "Joshua I enjoy talking to you about the cookie issue but I have to go."

"Are you on your way over here?" Joshua hoped.

Tommy runs a hand through his hair. "No, I have a few problems at my own home to do with at the moment." "I can visit sometime soon okay."

"Wait a minute; my mommy wants to talk to you," Joshua hands his mother the phone.

Mary smiles at the phone. "I am sorry that he called you over the cookie debacle." "Tommy since I overheard that you cannot come over today; what about tomorrow?"

I need to talk to Kim first. He sighs as he hears the front door close behind him. "I will try to stop by Mary but I really need to check on something."

"Sure, Tommy just let me know," Mary hangs up the phone. Maybe I should stop by his home. My mother can watch the children and I can give Tommy what he has been wanting.

Tommy hangs up the phone and rushes to the door just in time to see Kim drive off. Damn, where is she going and should I follow her? He closes the door and sulks back into the kitchen. Tommy looks around the kitchen. Wow, Kim baked all these desserts. Tommy smiles as he lifts a glass lid off a cupcake bin and takes out a cupcake. He takes a bite. Wow, this is delicious; I almost like this as much as when I had seen Kim licking that frosting off her fingers. I might as well watch television since I have no idea where Kim went and making the house into a little love nest would go to waste if she were not here to see it.

Kim decides to drive to a hotel that has a bar. She needed to have as many drinks as possible to erase the feeling of Tommy completely ignoring her and talking to that child as if it was his own. Kim checks into a room and walks to the elevator; she cannot wait to drink one of her favorite drinks and put the thought of men out of her mind. Kim had even considered going to a lesbian bar to avoid men altogether but decided she was not in the mood to be hit on be women either.

Mary kisses her mother and drives through the forest to Tommy's home. She was surprised that a person wanted to live out so far away from everything but she shook the thought from her head. I plan to entice Tommy to want my children and I. Mary pulls into Tommy's driveway and begins walking to the front door. She jumps when she reaches the top stair and the front door swings wide open.

Tommy heard a car pull into the driveway. Kim is back. He runs to the front door and flings the door open almost off its hinges. Tommy stares at Mary in a stunned silence for a minute. "Uh… what are you doing here?" He looks at her with a confused expression.

"Are you going to invite me in," Mary questions.

"Um, sure," Tommy moves aside and lets Mary enter.

Mary glances around Tommy's home. I could live here. "My reason for being here is this." She takes off her coat to reveal lingerie underneath. Mary waits for Tommy's reaction.

"I am flattered that you came to my home and in that but…"

"But what, Tommy," Mary interrupts him. "I like you and I know that you like me or I thought you liked me until a few days ago. "Please tell me what has changed; what did I do wrong?"

Tommy bites his bottom lip. "We need to talk." He gestures towards the couch.

Mary sits down on the couch and watches as Tommy sits down next to her.

"You have done nothing wrong it's just that someone I wished to never see again is back in my life." Tommy leans his head back against the couch. "Since she has been back, well my feelings have been erratic and I do not want to hurt anyone."

"Tommy, we all have someone that we thought we could not live without but when it comes down to it they are only what is holding us back from being in love." Mary throws up her hands. "When I was with Ryder; Joshua and Lucy's father I thought I had found the best love on Earth." "He left us when Lucy was two and although for the longest time I wished he would return to us; I realized that I would always love him but he is not the man I am meant to be with."

"Kim and I were told we are destined to be together but she broke my heart then she stormed back into my life." Tommy runs a frustrated hand through his hair.

Mary touches his cheek. "Tommy, Kim is like Ryder, someone that will always have a place in our hearts but someone we must let go." "How can we be truly happy knowing that they can hurt us at any moment if we are together with them?"

"I guess you do make a valid point," Tommy gives Mary a weak smile. She did just rush out of here without talking to me first. Has Kim matured in that way?

"So how about we make some use of this getup and have some fun?" Mary stands up.

Tommy smiles up at Mary. "I guess we could make light of the moment and have a little fun.

Inside the Four Seasons hotel bar, Kim gulps downs the last of her drink. She flags down the bartender who seemed to be smitten with her. "I would like another one please."

"Not to be out of line but I think you should slow down," Liam takes the glass that Kim set on the table. "How about you tell me what happened and we can fix it."

"Look Liam, I am flattered that you want to do the whole listen to my concerns bit but I just want to guzzle down another drink." Kim twirls the mini umbrella in hand.

Liam sighs but makes Kim another drink. He hands her the drink. "I know it is none of my business but normally when a woman drinks like you are something terrible has happened." Liam comes from around the bar and sits on a stool next to Kim. "Tell me what is wrong."

Kim stares at the bartender with buzzed eyes. "I love someone who just showed me that he does not love me." She sighs before she drinks her cocktail.

"He is surely a fool because although I have known you for less than an hour you seem like the perfect woman." Liam moves hair out of Kim's face.

"Ha, I am actually far from it." Kim sips her drink. "I break up with the guy because I thought a different man was the one for me but when I realized that I had made a mistake it was already too late because he has moved on and with someone I cannot compete with."

"I highly doubt you cannot compete with any woman." Liam smiles at Kim.

"It is not so much the woman but the fact that she has children and he wants them." Kim gulps the remaining liquid in her glass. "Here I am a twenty-five year old unwed woman with no children." Kim sets the glass down on the bar top. "Gold medals be damned."

Liam is about to comment when he sees someone walk inside the room. "Be right back." He swings back around the bar. "How may I help you?"

"You can get me a whiskey and stop flirting with my Kim." The man walks towards Kim.

Kim lifts her head as soon as she hears the voice of the man who entered the room. "Heath, what… are you doing here?"

"I had a meeting in one of the boardrooms and decided to have a drink." Heath sits down on the barstool that Liam had sat. "Now the real question is what are you doing sitting in this bar drinking your little heart out?"

"Um would you accept I wanted a drink too?" Kim tries to sit up straighter and smooth down her hair. "From the expression on your face I will take it as a no."

Heath smiles at Kim. "I know we did not end things on the right foot but from the looks of it Mr. Perfect has not done so well either." Heath takes the drink from Liam. "How about we get a room and make the other residents blush like we used too." He finishes his drink in one gulp.

Kim gives a snort like giggle. "As much fun as that sounds; I already have my room." Kim rises from the barstool. "Liam it was nice chatting with you, now I must be off to my room and you do not attempt to follow me or find which room I am in." Kim walks as best she can out the room.

Liam smiles as Kim walks away. "So are you the bonehead that she broke-up with for the other bonehead or are you the bonehead who messed up and made her realized she wanted the other?"

"Excuse you, Liam is it; Kim is none of your concern and all you need to know is that in a short amount of time, she will be mine again." Heath stands up and walks away.

"The nerve of the cocky suit," Liam mutters as he takes Heath's glass of the bar top.

Whoa, maybe I should have worn flats today. Kim wanted to slide off her shoes and walk barefoot the rest of the way to her room but decided against it. Maybe I should go back down to the bar in about an hour; Heath should be gone by then. Kim slides the room key into the lock.
