~Vanessa's POV~
Ohshitohshitohshitohshitohshitohshit. That's all that kept running through my mind. How could we be so careless? We'd kept it a secret for almost a month now and now because we just couldn't hold it in for a little longer, everyone was staring at us like we'd just danced around naked singing Macarena.
Riker slowly let go of me and I moved so that I could see the others. Ross gave Laura an 'I told you so' look, while Laura was opening and closing her mouth like a goldfish. Maia wasn't even trying to hide her smile and Rydel, Rocky and Ellington just looked completely baffled.
"What the hell was that?!" Laura seemed to finally find her voice.
I bit my lip and gave Riker a desperate look.
"Um, we, um..." Riker fumbled over is words.
"Okay, fine. You wanna know what that was?" I asked.
"Kinda. That's why I asked!" Laura exclaimed.
I sighed. "Fine. We're dating, okay?"
And cue the shocked faces.
"Vanessa!" Riker exclaimed.
"What?! Riker, they just saw us kiss. I think they pretty much know."
"Ha, I told you so!" Ross suddenly yelled, sticking his tongue out at Laura.
Laura pouted. "How long?"
"About a month." I answered.
"Vanessa!" Riker exclaimed again and I gave him an exasperated look.
"A month?!" Rydel exclaimed. "How on earth did you keep it a secret for that long?"
Riker answered this time. "You guys are seriously oblivious to everything. It was pretty easy. I mean, we had a few obvious slip-ups and you guys didn't even realize." I nodded in agreement.
"I thought we didn't keep secrets." Laura said, crossing her arms.
I looked at her shocked, before realising what she said. "Honey listen, we just didn't want the hassle of telling everyone and we were really worried about how you and Ross might react about it, you know, since you two are dating. We thought you might get weird about it."
Ross gave Laura a smug grin. "Easy, Mr. Smug." Laura growled, and then her face softened as she looked at me. "It's okay, I understand." I smiled at her.
"Maia, you haven't spoken in a while." Ellington said.
"That's because I already knew." Maia answered, everyone looked at her. "I walked in on them kissing."
Eventually, everyone seemed to go elsewhere and Riker and I were left alone to discuss today's events. I sat down on the couch with a heavy sigh.
"Wow, long day huh?" I asked. "I can't believe everyone found out like that."
He sat down beside me. "Me either but I'm glad everyone knows now."
"You are?" I asked.
"Yeah because now that everyone knows, we never have to worry about telling everyone eventually, slipping up. Plus, I get to kiss you," He kissed my cheek and wrapped his arms around me. "And hold you whenever I want."
"You're very sweet," I smiled, leaning my head up to kiss him. "I'm glad everyone knows now too."
He smiled at me.
~Laura's POV~
I giggled at something the guy I was talking to said. I had just gone to get some coffee and this guy, James, had introduced himself. We'd been talking for the last hour, and he seemed to be a really genuine, sweet guy. As I laughed again, I spotted Ross walk into the coffee house. His gaze landed on me, and I was just about to excuse myself from James, but Ross walked out before I could.
"I'm sorry, James. Would you excuse me?" He nodded yes but I wasn't paying much attention as I ran out of the door. "Ross, hey! Wait up!"
He whirled around, his stare angry. "What?"
"What's wrong? You took one look at me and left!"
"Hmm, I can't imagine why." He replied, sarcastically. "I came to meet you and I find you there flirting with some guy!"
"Flirting?! What? I was having a conversation! Can't I have those anymore?" I asked in disbelief.
"You call acting all giggly and blushing a conversation?!" He replied.
I rolled my eyes. "I was not blushing, and I was laughing because he was telling me a funny story! That's what happens when something is funny, you laugh!"
"Oh yeah sure, whatever." He turned and began walking away again.
"Oh what? So now we're fighting and you're just walking away from me?!" I yelled, walking after him. "You don't have to be so jealous, Ross!"
"I'm not jealous, Laura! It just annoys me when I see you flirting with other guys!" He shouted, and gained a bit of speed in his walk. "Maybe I should just find a girlfriend that I won't constantly worry that she'll cheat on me!"
I stopped in my tracks. "Well fine, if that's how you feel. Maybe I should find a boyfriend who isn't so jealous, and appreciates me!" I yelled before walking the other way.
Ugh.~Vanessa's POV~
"Hey, you know when we're in Toronto? How long are we there?" I asked Riker.
"Uhm well, we have two separate shows there, so four days I think. Why?"
I pulled up my calendar on my phone, "We're in Toronto for Maia's birthday. She deserves something special. Maybe we should hire somewhere and throw her a surprise party."
"That's a pretty good idea. It'll be nice to have a break from all this tour stuff for once," He replied. "Does this mean we have to go shopping?"
"Absolutely," I grinned up at him. "Let's go now."
He groaned, "Seriously?!"
"Yes! Come on, the sooner we get it out of the way, the better." I said and he sighed in defeat, standing up.
"Let's go."
We were only gone a few hours before we both got bored and decided to head back. I managed to get Maia a birthday present though, phew. After shopping, we had a coffee at Starbucks and headed back to the hotel. On our way back, we spotted a familiar face sat on a bench.
"Is that Ross?" Riker asked.
I squinted my eyes to get a better look, "Yeah, I think so. Should we go over?"
He nodded and we headed over. "Ross?" We sat down at either side of him.
He looked up at us; looking shocked and upset at the same time.
"Is everything okay?" I asked.
"I think Laura and I broke up." He replied. "We had a massive argument."
"Over what?" Riker asked.
Ross looked at me.
"What?" I questioned.
"I feel like you're going to hit me if I tell you," He replied.
"You're just going to have to take that risk, aren't you?" I smiled.
He sighed. "I walked into the coffee shop and saw her laughing with some guy, I accused her of flirting then we argued and I basically told her I think she's going to cheat on me."
"Oh my god. You're such an idiot," I told him. "Laura would never in a million years cheat on you. She probably was just being polite, or she genuinely found whatever he was saying funny. That happens you know, sometimes we find stories other people tell us funny." Sarcasm dripped from my voice.
"I had a feeling you'd say that."
"Go and talk to her, Ross." I said.
"What if she won't talk to me or tells me to leave her alone?" He asked.
I shook my head, "Then do the opposite, talk to her until she listens. And my god, give her a chance to explain. Just trust me, I know my sister."
"You're right," He stood up.
"Duh, of course. I always am." I joked.
"I'm going to find Laura, bye guys!" And off he went to find Laura.
I rolled my eyes and tutted, "Boys."
"Mhmm- wait, what?"
~Laura's POV~
A knock on my hotel room door interrupted the book I was reading. With a sigh, I got up to answer it.
Ross.
"I forgot my key," He said, sheepishly. "Listen Laura, I just wanna say that I'm really sorry for what I said, I didn't mean it. At all. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and nothing can change that, ever. I don't want to lose you over one stupid argument."
I couldn't stop the smile that overtook my features. "Lose me? Ross, we're a couple. We're gonna fight and when we do, we'll just make up again. Some fights will be worse than others, but you're not going to lose me over something stupid."
"Good because we're probably going to have a lot of disagreements," We both laughed and he wrapped me in a tight hug. "I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry too," I whispered, closing my eyes.
Have I mentioned how much I love his hugs?
A/N: Sorry, it's shorter than usual but I really wanted to update for you guys. I'm kinda running out of ideas so if you guys have any, please PM me or write it in a review.
On another note, does anyone watch Dance Moms? I've just caught up on it and I love it! Who's your favourite dancer? Well, Brooke and Paige were definitely my favourites but since they've left, Chloe is my favourite. She's such a sweetheart. But I do love all the girls. And my favourite mom is definitely Christi, I love how she always argues for what's right but she knows when to stop, and she always stands up for her daughter and never lets anyone, especially Abby, walk over her.
Anyway, thank you so much for your constant support!
