On Monday morning, Hank had to go to back to work. All Donna had was an appointment with Dr. Luria, so she allowed herself to sleep in. When she eventually got up, she made breakfast of eggs and cheese with toast. She was nearly finished eating when Dr. Linda McNickles called with the blood test results.

"Hi, Dr. McNickles," Donna greeted her. "How are you?"

"I'm fine," said Linda. "And how are you?"

Donna reported she was all right. "My appetite is even coming back," she added. "So… what are the results?"

"First off, you're not pregnant," Linda replied, "but your hormones are slightly out-of-wack; nothing that can't be fixed, of course. I am going to fax a prescription for a pill for you to take. And yes, you will have to take it everyday for at least a month."

"Okay, I can do that," Donna said, but was secretly very upset about it, and Linda could hear the dismay in her voice.

"I wish I had better news," Linda said in gentle tones. "I am truly sorry, but at least we now know what is going on."

Donna said sadly, "I know, but it is hard."

"I know it is, but give it some time," Linda stated.

"Okay, I will," Donna murmured, and hung up. She cleared the breakfast dishes and finished getting ready for her appointment with Dr. Luria.

When Donna arrived at the office, Dr. Luria at once noticed she looked sad, upset, and almost in tears. Heart breaking for her, Amanda asked, "Donna, how are you doing?"

Donna sighed and said, "Right before I came here, I got some bad news. I found out my hormones are all out-of-whack and now I need to take pills for a month to get better."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Dr. Luria said with sympathy. "But it is for a month, and then you will feel better... And now I have to ask: Did you get to go to the graves yet?"

Donna brightened slightly. "Yes, I did," she answered. "And I had twenty-nine teammates come and support me. It was hard, but I have some hope and some closure. I've been thinking I just might go back. They all said they missed me and wanted me back."

"That is good you had your teammates there for you," Dr. Luria commented. "They really care for you."

Donna added, "On a somewhat good note, I have been starving the last couple of days."

Amanda said with a smile, "That is great! In fact, it's a very good thing. You need to gain some healthy weight."

With a shrug, Donna said, "I guess."

"Why do you 'guess'?" asked Dr. Luria.

"I'm afraid I'll gain too much weight back," Donna said sheepishly.

"Oh, Donna, I don't think you will," Dr. Luria said with smile.

"Okay," Donna murmured with a small smile of her own. "I think I am slowly getting better... I still miss them and wonder about my baby… what it was..."

Dr. Luria said: "It is okay to miss them. Go see them when you need to. I also think you are doing so much better, and I think I only need to see once a week now. I still need to see you, but I'll sign off on you returning to duty."

A large smile appeared on Donna's face at these words. "Thank you," she breathed happily. Before she left, she gave Dr. Luria a hug.

When Donna got home, she started to make dinner and to set up for a romantic night.
