Well, this is nice! I made another chapter. It has been a while since I made a chapter per day. I hope I can continue this further as this story has gotten me quite exited. Actually, its been a while since I have posted much of anything on fanfiction. On the other had, ths chapter will be exceptionally like the movie because my character will have almost no direct affect on the plot. However, the next chapter will not be like that.

I do not own LoTR.

Amber laughed loudly with Pippin and Merry. The few days she enjoyed in Rivendale, were pleasant but she had become restless once she had learned that she could go home. All her Hobbit friends had been happy to now that she could finally home again, even of Pippin looked especially disappointed. The only problem that Amber had, was the odd sensation of not wanting to leave Middle Earth. Now that she could go home, she found that the idea of leaving Pippin especially made her feel slightly ill. Amber smiled lightly at the said Hobbit, before she caught sight of Sam scurrying away somewhere and asked, "Where are you going, Sam?"

Sam paused before he called, "Mr. Frodo was called to some sort of 'secret council' meeting, and I'm gonna to go to it, whether they say I can or not." Amber smiled and said, "I think I will go as well, it might be useful to know what is going on with the ring." Sam smiled and gestured Amber forward. She smiled as she hear Pippin call in a mock-whisper, "Wait for us, we're coming too!" A chuckle escaped for her lips as she thought about Pippin who scurried to catch up.

They reached the meeting place and hid just before Elrond stood and said seriously, "Strangers from distant lands, friends of old. You have been summoned here to answer the threat of Mordor. Middle Earth stands upon the brink of destruction. None can escape it. You will unite or you will fall. Each race is bound to this fate, this one doom." Amber watched at the people there looked around in unease as Elrond spoke. Once he had finished speaking, Elrond glanced around and said, " Bring forth the Ring, Frodo." As he gestured to a tall, round stone, Frodo stood and placed the ring on the stone slowly.

One of the Human men, one with blond hair, leaned over to study the ring as he rested his hand against his mouth and said reverently, "So it is true." Strider glanced at the man before looking back at Frodo, who had retaken his seat next to Gandalf. Frodo looked uneasy, but also relieved. Amber watched as Legolas and one of the dwarves, a particularly unattractive one, watched the ring suspiciously.

The blond human looked at the ring again, before he stood, drawing everyone's attention and said, "In a dream ... " the man paused to glance at the rings as if to draw courage from it before he continued, "I saw the Eastern sky grow dark." He approached the ring as he continued to speak, "In the West, a pale light lingered. A voice was crying, your doom is near at hand. Isildur's bane is found."

Amber swallowed lightly as Gandalf and Elrond exchanged concerned glances before they watched the man as he walked closer to the ring and started to reach for the ring as he whispered, "Isildur's Bane." As the Mans fingers neared the ring, Elrond stood abruptly and shouted at him, "Boromir!" as Gandalf began speaking in a horrible sounding language. The sky darkened and the ground seemed to shake to Amber's horror. The man, Boromir stumbled away from the ring as Gandalf spoke, and the same unattractive dwarf grunted and grabbed his axe. As Gandalf rose to his feet, Elrond reached place his hand on his forehead, as Legolas closed his eyes while he grimaced, and Amber clamped to hands over her ears as she tried to block out the painful sound. Amber watched as Frodo stared at the ring before Boromir at and Gandalf Stopped speaking the unpleasant language.

Amber pried her hands off her eares as she glanced at Sam who sat next to her and looked at her as he whispered "Was that think he said really so bad?" Before Amber could answer, Elrond spoke in a disturbed voice, " Never before has anyone uttered words of that tongue here in Imladris. Elrond sat down again as Gandalf replied, "I do not ask your pardon Master Elrond for the Black Speech of Mordor may yet be heard in every corner of the West. The Ring is altogether evil."

Boromir, however shook his head and said, "Aye, it is a gift!" He stood and said in a reverent tone, "A gift to the foes of Mordor. Why not use this Ring?" He looked around as he walked back and forth and said in a loud persistent tone, "Long has my father, the Steward of Gondor kept the forces of Mordor at bey. By the blood of our people are your lands kept safe. Give Gondor the weapon of the enemy, let us use it against him."

As soon Boromir had finished talking, "Strider rebuked him, "You cannot wield it. None of us can. Boromir turned to look at him as Strider said lightly, "The One Ring answers to Sauron alone. It has no other master."

Amber smiled at the ranger's wisdom, but irritation was clear clear in Boromir's voice as he said in a scathing tone, "And what would a ranger know of this matter ?"

Amber frowned as Legolas stood and said to Boromir, who turned his head to look at the elf, "This is no mere Ranger. He is Aragorn son of Arathorn You owe him your allegiance." Boromir's mouth dropped slightly as he and Frodo looked at, Strider ... Aragorn ... in surprise. Amber grinned lightly to herself over the revelation. Boromir sounded dumbfounded as he said, "Aragorn! This.. is Isildur's heir!" Strider/Aragorn looked back at Boromir before Legolas added, "And heir to the throne of Gondor." As Amber watched in interest, Strider/Aragorn raised his hand and said something in Elvish to Legolas. Before lagolas did anything, Boromir looked at him resentfully and said, "Gondor has no King." He turned to look at Aragorn as he added, "Gondor needs no King ." Boromir sat and stared disdainfully at Aragorn.

Gandalf spoke suddenly, interrupting the tense air of the meeting, "Aragorn is right. We cannot use it." Elrond stood as he said, "You have only one choice. The Ring must be destroyed." Moments after Elrond had spoken, the still unattractive Dwarf said, "Then what are we waiting for?" He then picked up his axe, as Gandalf and Elrond watched in concern, and rushed to bring down his axe on the ring, causing the axe to break. Amber could barley muffle her giggles over the dwarf's silly actions until she saw that Frodo flinched suddenly, and grab his forehead with a pained expression.

Amber glanced between Gandalf who looked in concern at Frodo, and the ring that sat unscathed while it was surrounded by the broken bits of the axe. As the stunned, unattractive dwaft was helped to his feet, Elrond said in a reproving voice, "The Ring cannot be destroyed, Gimli, son of Gloin, by any craft that we here possess. The Ring was made in the fires of Mount Doom. Only there can it be unmade. It must be taken deep into Mordor and cast back into the fiery chasm from whence it came. One of you ... must do this.

For a minute there was complete silence, until Boromir grimly said, "One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its black gates are guarded by more than just orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep and the great eye is ever watchful. Tis a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust. The very air you breathe is a poisonous fume.", He began shaking his head to emphasizes his point, "Not with ten thousand men could you do this. It is folly."

Legolas stood up again with an angered expression on his face as he raised his voice to say, "Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said? The Ring must be destroyed." Gimli stared at Legolas as he sarcastically, "And I suppose you think you're the one to do it." Amber made a face at Gimli and mouthed "What?", When she saw Sam's expression, "The Dwarf was being stupid, and insulting! And it's not like he can see me!"

As Amber said that, Boromir had stood and shouted, "And if we fail, what then? What happens when Sauron takes back what is his?" Gimli promptly stood up next and shouted, "I will be dead before I see the Ring in the hands of an elf!" Aragorn looked disappointed as all the elves looked angered, and stood behind Legolas to as the Humans stood as well. A loud argument stared, and Legolas put out his arm to hold back the other elves before Gimli shouted, "Never trust an elf!"

Amber started to rise from her hiding place until Sam held her back. She sulked slightly and muttered, "See, The stupid dwarf is a racist! That is wrong." Sam shook his head as he gestured to the arguing group. By now Gandalf had stood and added his own shouts to the cacophony of shouts as he called aloud, "Do you not understand that while we bicker amongst ourselves, Sauron's power grows?! None can escape it! You'll all be destroyed!"

Amber swallowed and shivered, some of the people there looked like they wanted to draw their weapons. She was unpleasantly reminded of the rumbles, or the street fights that the greasers and socs still had. They had always started with an argument, large or small, of some kind.

As she watched the argument, a small movement caught her eye. Frodo had stood up, and while she could not hear him, she could read his lips - he was saying that he would take the ring. None heard him though, So he repeated what he said louder. Gandalf looked as sad as Amber felt as the arguments died down enough for everyone to hear Frodo say, " I will take the Ring to Mordor."

Everyone looked at Frodo in surprise. Frodo was, after all, still a hobbit. Most people did not think much of them, so it was a surprise to hear a hobbit say such a brave thing. Frodo looked lightly nervous as he added, "Though, I do not know the way." Gandalf breathed deeply, before he solemnly said, "I will help you bear this burden Frodo Baggins, as long as it is yours to bear." Frodo smiled as Gandalf moved to stand behind him.

Aragorn was also quick to stand as he said, "If by my life or death I can protect you, I will." He walked quickly to kneel before Frodo before he added, " You have my sword." Gandalf and Elrond briefly shared a smile, before Legolas added, "And you have my bow.", before he walked over. A second later, Gimli said, "And my axe." Legolas grimaced silently as the dwarf moved to stand beside him. Boromir walked forward next as he said, "You carry the fate of us all little one. If this is indeed the will of the Council, then Gondor will see it done."

Amber and Sam exchanged glances, they both knew the other was going to go along on the quest. They both stood quickly as Amber cleared her throat, and lead the way. Sam scurried past her and Aragorn to stand next to Frodo as he said, "Mr Frodo's not going anywhere without us." Elrond glanced first from Amber, then to Gandalf who nodded lightly, before the elf said, "No indeed it is hardly possible to separate you three, even when he is summoned to a secret council and neither of you are not!" Lagolas smiled at Amber briefly before he turned his attention to Elrond again.

A minute later, Amber heard light footsteps, and Merry cry, "Wait! we're coming too!" Elrond looked stunned as the two 'new' hobbits raced in and Merry added, "You'd have to send us home tied up in a sack to stop us." Pippin immediately added, "Anyway you need people of intelligence on this sort of mission ... quest ... thing."

Gandalf shook his head in amazement as Amber face-palmed and tried to hide her relieved smile, and Merry said, "Well that rules you out Pip." Elrond looked over at the group as he said, "Ten companions... So be it! You shall be the Fellowship of the Ring!" Anber smiled as Pippin said, "Great!" the smile disappeared, however, when Pippin added, "Where are we going?"

I like this chapter, even If I had to stick so strictly to the story. The next chapter will be before the fellowship leaves Rivendale, but it is not to be taken as a filler. Also, I got in a little something about Amber & Pippin.

We will learn something interesting about Amber, after all. Please Review, Review equal virtual cookies.
