X-Dragons

Another chapter of my apparent famous story. Very famous by the sudden comments I'm receiving. Anyway, thanks to everyone. Enjoy the new chapter.

Chapter 13: New Allies

Kitty and Rogue walked out of their shared room yawning wide. Even after months of training in the Danger Room, it still wore them down a lot of notches. A lot more than what they liked. Still, it helped them improve until Gohan decided to put his own training in motion to push things up a level. And that could be today, because many new mutants were being found recently.

Kurt joined the girls couple in no time, more awaken than them. He wasn't with his image inducer watch.

"So the rookies are coming to join us?" The goth mutant asked still trying to wake up and rubbing her eyes.

"Hey, they are just new, they will catch up in time" Kurt said, remembering when he was the new one. It felt like something that happened so far behind in time.

"Besides who knows what we might see?" Shadowcat said interested. Mutants were always varied when it came to powers or appearances.

"Where's Gohan in all this?" Rogue asked, noticing their leader's absence.

"He said something about practising a new technique outside" Kitty responded to her mutant room-mate "So if the kitchen starts trembling, he is doing okay" The brunette said, knowing that when her boyfriend was doing a good training, something would tremble.

That same Saiyan called Gohan concentrated his mind, while sitting outside Bayville. He was focussing his ki powers, trying to increase them. The Saiyan had his eyes closed, gathering energy. He needed to increase his Powers though without transforming into Super Saiyan. Easier said than done. Trying to learn the Kaioken with no background was far from easy. Still Goku's son was determined to do it. He had been trained by two of the most powerful teachers of his universe after all, and he wouldn't simply give up without even trying. That wasn't his style.

With a final push of his powers the Saiyan's normal white aura flared with a fiery red color, his powers boosted. Still concentrating though, Gohan kept on gathering strength. His aura kept increasing in size and fire. Gohan kept powering up, wind gusts flinging the grass beneath him. A few trees started to move by his new unleashed but still raw power.

The X mutants having breakfast had their cutlery suddenly trembling. In fact, the entire house was shaking, a few windows rumbling to shatter. Logan stopped reading his newspaper and looked around, not amused or scared. He had seen worse.

"The boy is training?" Wolverine asked, and the students nodded, still eating "Got it" The healing mutant went back to his newspaper reading without a hassle.

After a few more minutes, Gohan ended up the red-colored technique after powering up to fifty times. He knew he could go higher, maybe a hundred but he would not test his breaking point now. There would be a time for that in the future. The half Saiyan took off in the air and arrived with his fellow mutants in less than a minute of super speed flight.

"Hey guys" Gohan greeted and sat in the table after kissing Kitty and then started eating. He wasn't tired after practising the Kaioken, but it was better to not be overconfident. Many had fallen because they thought they could brag about how much energy they still had left.

The sounds of cars arriving to the mansion was the cue needed for the older mutants to move to the next room. Storm and Jean joined the senior members a few seconds later.

"You are all here, good" Professor said, entering the room. He was followed by a pack of new mutant students.

The original mutant group of students and teachers looked at the new comers.

"They look a bit happy, don't they?" Kitty commented.

"Until they start training with Logan" Gohan said with a small smirk. Even Logan smiled by the comment. It was true, after all.

"Or you" Rogue now said with evil glee. The others gave her credit, that was the most certain point ever stated.

Professor was in front of everyone with a hand raised, getting everyone's attention. He could do that very easily.

"I believe introductions are in order" The headmaster of the Institute said "Senior members, why don't you introduce yourself first?" Professor offered to his first mutant students, who agreed.

"Jean Grey, one of the senior members" The red-haired telepath said with her smile. The new ones nodded to her, eager "My powers are telepathy and telekinesis" She showed it by easily levitating a chair with no problem. Many applauded her.

"Logan or Wolverine. Healing, senses, and the best in what I do" His claws popped up, the new mutants staggering back in fear.

"Ororo Munroe, Storm, one of your teachers along with Wolverine" The weather mutant said, trying to take the attention out of Logan "And I can control the weather" Thunderstorms roared outside on the sky, just when a second before the Sun was shinning bright in the sky. A second later, the Sun was again shinning bright.

"Rogue, and I absorb life force and memories through skin contact. And in mutants case, I absorb their powers for a short time" The goth girl explained "I still can't control it, so don't sneak behind me"

"Kitty Pryde, Shadowcat, and I phase through solid things" She run right into a door, disappearing. Many new guys looked surprise, until she walked back in scene intangible.

"Kurt Wagner or Nightcrawler and I can do this" He vanished with a smoke trace outside a window and teleported back.

It was Gohan's turn, but he simply waved it of.

"Let the new students introduce themselves Professor" Gohan said "I'm sure my introduction will take a while" The new students were surprised or annoyed, while the original X-men smiled to themselves. Gohan's story, after all, wasn't one to simply say out loud to anyone. The rookies were up for a big surprise.

First was a blonde, punk-haired girl, with a smirk of rebelliousness. A smirk directed to the attractive Gohan, who remained unflinching from it.

"Tabitha Smith, though now I prefer Boom-Boom" Before anyone could ask her why, she charged up ten little yellow sparking spheres. She dropped them, the cherry bombs exploding with the power of Christmas firecrackers.

Next, was a brown-haired kid, who looked ready to joke.

"Bobby Drake, but as I control ice I think I'll be Iceman" He fired a blue ice beam to a flower from his hand, which froze at contact.

Next, was a spiky-haired blonde boy.

"Ray Crisp, and I control electrical discharges. So I'll be Berserker" He unleashed a blue lighting bolt.

Next was a black-skinned boy.

"Roberto Da Costa, and I absorb energy from the Sun to increase my abilities. I guess I'm Sunspot" His entire body was engulfed by a yellow aura, his body becoming black. Many applauded him.

Next, was another blonde-haired man.

"Sam Guthrie, and I'm Cannonball" Before anyone asked, his legs shifted into a whirlwind and he was propelled to the ceiling, before bouncing back to the ground without harm or injure on him and no dent in the house.

Next was a sixteen year old red-haired girl.

"Angelica Jones, and I control microwave particles, which allows me to create fire and fly" The red-haired explained, creating a little fire on her hands to demonstrate "And my name will be Firestar"

The last one was a tall boy, a few inches taller than Gohan and with nearly as much muscles. His facial features showed he was an Apache native.

"I'm James Proudstar, and I have a variety of powers" He showed it by easily lifting a couch. It surprised a few of the new students but not the senior ones. They had seen better "I guess I will be Warpath" Many of the new girls were impressed by the display.

"They are really up for a surprise, aren't they?" Kitty said mentally to Gohan, who was now being stared by every new student. Even the older students looked at him, though with a bit of glee.

"Sorry for the mystery. Gohan or Saiyan while on the Team, and I'm a very especial mutant" The half Saiyan said. The original mutant team smirked to themselves, as the new mutants were really up for a big surprise. "To explain shortly, I'm a half human alien that comes from another dimension" The new students looked to each other, not knowing if to laugh or snicker. The old students however, Kurt and Kitty most specifically, were trying not to laugh by the sudden faces.

"You are kidding right?" Bobby asked, stepping forward. Gohan simply unraveled his waist tail. The sudden brown appendage took the New students by surprise, confirming what he had said. Just a tad bit "Alright, I believe you" there were a few nodes from the others.

"And to tell you my powers, just the typical super strength, speed, reflexes. I heal faster than humans, and once I have healed, my body becomes stronger. I also have ki control" He showed by creating a sudden blue energy orb, as big as himself "Ki is the energy we all have inside us, so I learned how to take it out and use it for many things" The hybrid showed by creating an energy-based sword, and reshaping it into a chair and even a full-body figure of himself "Of course, that's the least impressive thing I can do"

"How strong are you?" Warpath asked curious. He thought he was the only one with strength, but he surely wanted a match. It was boring to not have someone to spar against when you were afraid your opponent might end up split in half. Gohan smirked, as he removed the paddler of his shoulders. The older students looked a bit wary now. When their leader did that, it meant business.

"If you keep this up for an entire minute then we can spar" Saiyan said, the senior Mutants looking to each other worried "Catch!"

The tall mutant catched the paddler, only for him to fall forward, the ground breaking by the weight. In fact the paddler went down to the Danger Room, breaking the floor without problem. Nearly every new student gasped by the sudden show, looking at the hole.

"That just weights ten millions tons boy, and I use it to warm up" Gohan barely said, folding his arms over his chest.

"So you are the leader right?" Firestar asked to him. It was obvious someone with that power was meant to lead.

"Actually he is. He has led us since the first time" Kitty said before Gohan had even replied. Rogue and Nightcrawler stepped forward helping the brunette mutant. After all, the half alien had led them into countless victories before, at the same time they all improved their individual abilities and as a team.

"Okay, yes. I'm the leader" Gohan admitted a bit begrudgingly. He didn't want to admit it, but even when the others could follow him maybe the new students couldn't. Well, only time could tell who were up for the future challenges. The new Mutants started commenting between each other about the situation "Is it something wrong?" Gohan asked.

"Not at all. You think you can teach us?" Sunspot said out-loud, many others also agreeing after the display. That caused many eyebrows to be raised by the first mutants. Never they had seen teenagers so willing to train. Willingly, that is.

"You got your own fanatics! How the hell do you do it?" Rogue mentally asked in sarcasm and Gohan shrugged his shoulders in response.

Professor saw the display in front of him. Gohan had everything that a leader required and more. Even more, he had talked to him about a new training to help the students improve, to which he had agreed. Professor knew that the training could put the mutant students out of many dangers that still lingered the world. It was still too soon for them to come out in public. And Eric wasn't helping their kind with his troublesome attitude. His ideas of mutant supremacy would get him nowhere but deep trouble. And sadly, he might try to drag the X-Men along him.

"Well, now that we are all acquainted, please follow me to your rooms" Storm interfered towards the New Mutants. They followed, ready to start their new power lessons.

A few hours later, Saiyan and Wolverine were over the controls in the Danger Room alongside Storm and Professor. They were now surveying the first training for the new recruits inside the Danger Room. It would show who would be up to the original team's expectation and who needed to step up their training by a few notches.

So far so good, that was Gohan's thought. Many were doing fine for a first time. Of course, in real life they would all be six feet under but that's why the X-Men continuously trained. To not be easily stepped over.

"Improvements needed?" Storm asked the fighting experts. Logan huffed a bit.

"Obviously" The healing mutant replied with his typical demeanor. Gohan snickered by the sudden comment. Logan would never change.

"Agreed" Gohan seconded the motion. A few minutes later, the New Mutants walked out of the Danger Room slightly bruised and tired. Many were rubbing their injured parts of their bodies, while others were still unscathed. They had just finished a 'light' training session. Logan and Gohan were already waiting for them outside.

"Well, now that you have warmed up, Saiyan will take it from here" Logan said, amazingly smirking and leaving Gohan in charge. The new students looked at each other in fear. If that was the warm-up then they were ready to already drop dead.

"Follow me. Our training will be outside" The mutant leader said, the new mutants and the old ones following. The entire mutant collective went after him, Storm and Logan ready to enjoy whatever Gohan had ready for the students.

The homo-superiors gathered outside the mansion in their new X-Men dark blue outfits.

"Alright, listen up everyone" The Saiyan said in a normal tone, getting the attention in a second without having to yell "Many of you know the full extent of my powers, others don't. You can think of me as a mutant or whatever other name you can come up with. But my ki powers aren't alien. In fact, humans can use ki. And that's what you are all going to learn with me" That caused a lot of comments from the New Mutants. The senior members already knew that, but it didn't mean they were less exited about the prospect.

"So are we going to learn the ki spheres and those stuffs?" Iceman asked pretty much out of the blue, bouncing like a kid on Christmas. Gohan smiled a bit by his antics.

"Given time, yes" The leader replied. His answer got many students happy. He lifted his hand, getting the attention back to himself, with everyone shutting immediately. "However, ki isn't simply manipulated. You must all first obtain a greater physical condition before stepping into that. And that's what you are all going to do" His hand shone yellow, suddenly materializing weighted wristband and boots for all his new students.

"For now, you just have to do normal exercises with weights" Gohan said, many of his students on the floor or fighting to remain upside by the strain on their muscles.

"How much do these things weight?" The taller Warpath asked, struggling on his feet. He was at least carrying more than a hundred tons for sure.

"It depends. I created them by a rough assumption and knowing what kind of abilities you have. Those of you with superhuman strength are the ones carrying more weight" His eyes went for Rogue and Warpath, who were the obvious super strong of the team, alongside himself.

"Why don't you start with a ten-mile hick?" The Saiyan decided to act a bit Piccolo mixed with Wolverine. The mutants looked at him in terror but a sudden stare from their leader put any complaint to permanent rest. They better start. "And don't think you can cheat" Suddenly a duplicate was formed next to the original Gohan, who flew above the Mutants, checking non of them tried the easy way out while they train. The students would have now gone mad by the sudden splitting but they were training so in the back of their mind, they knew they would one day do the same.

The trainees left, Logan and Storm moving onto Gohan. The Saiyan smiled to himself. Apparently his techniques had at least brought some inspiration into his team. He would have transformed into Super Saiyan but that might have overwhelmed the new disciples. And they might have ended up disappointed by the fact they could never transform like himself.

"Tell me something kid. It's not necessary to be as strong as you to learn ki, right?" Logan asked. He wanted to learn more about the 'life energy' thing. It might surprise Creed the next time he showed his ugly face around.

"That's correct Logan" The demi-Saiyan responded in confirmation.

"Then why do make them train with weights?" Storm asked. She was new to that kind of training.

"Let's say I'm being cautious" Gohan responded "While ki doesn't require a lot of physical strength, it does need mental discipline and focus on one's inner willpower. Training with weights will not only show who are the ones that improve faster, but also those that have the mental discipline to strive forward. Besides, if any of them doesn't want to train in ki, then at least they can still do the Danger Room training with weights and improve their natural strengths"

"That's quite a speech" The healing mutant commented.

You should have heard my first teacher. He said all the words I said in the form of punches. I ended up with my eyes swollen purple and almost blinded in the middle of the mountains he left me when I was four" Gohan said, his hand again shinning yellow. Now Storm and Wolverine had weights on them.

"What the...?" Logan asked, feeling the weights on his arms pulling down.

"You said that I had to train the mutants" The half alien commented with a grin "You never specified who" The half alien started floating eye-closed in meditation.

The original Gohan had waited for at least two hours before feeling the energies getting back to the mansion. As soon as they reached the house's yard the mutant group fell on the grass ready to drop dead.

"Anyone can feel your legs?" James asked, completely lying on the grass tired.

"I think I dropped them the way back home" Kurt half joked/half agonised.

"Man! I think I overheated myself. And I don't think that's even possible!" Bobby commented, sweating like a melting ice-cube.

"Then guess what happened to me" Angelica said ironically, hard breathing like the others.

"Good job team. Remember that the more time you spend with the weights on, the faster you will improve" Gohan commented to his new students back on his feet, his clone assimilated. The students were all panting on the ground, put though the Saiyan paces. And those were just the easy paces.

Iceman rose his hand for a question.

"Yes Bobby?" Gohan noted the kid's raised hand.

"I know you said we must train, but I think this is too much for a first day" Iceman commented. The others agreed with brief nods, except for the old members. They were used to Logan's hardest trainings so adapting to the new one wasn't going to be difficult. Hard and painful, yes but they would adapt.

Gohan sighed. He really didn't want to tell the others but it would be better that way.

"Look, I think I have to be dead honest with you" The demiSaiyan said, getting all the eyes on him "Mutants are not well-known in the world. But one day we are going to be. I don't know if society will accept us, but if things go right, people will indeed accept us. If things go wrong... well, does Word War III sound like a nice future for you?" The sudden explanation surprised the mutants. Gohan again asked for attention, not finished yet "I know many of you won't believe what I said and you are all free to do so. But I have learnt to never let my enemy get the advantage. I'm not saying we must destroy the government and take it for ourselves, but me must be ready for if someone tries anything. I don't think any of you would like to be taken away or watch how others are deprived of their freedom while you stand helpless. Am I correct?" His speech got a few nods of approval.

"Does that answer your question Bobby?" Gohan said to Iceman, who nodded sheepishly, ready to train. After a rest and hopefully some re-frosting "Alright everyone, you are free for the rest of the day. But remember, the more you train the more prepared you will be" The New Mutants walked again inside the mansion, though some seemed to be crawling on their knees.

"You are a true motivator" Kitty said, landing a full kiss on her boyfriend, entangling her arms all around Gohan's neck.

"I try my best" The leader commented with a smile.

"In killing us? Yeah, I agree" Rogue said now, rubbing her beaten arms. The mutant elf on the ground agreed with her.

"I said that I would train you guys. You were free to say yes or no" Gohan said honestly, putting his friends in the light spot.

"Yeah I know" The southern bell mutant girl said with a sigh. The group of friends moved back to the house, Gohan and Kitty holding hands. Nightcrawler decided to remain on his spot.

"You guys go ahead. I still have to find where my tail is" Kurt joked, not moving from the ground. He would rest for some time before going back home. Maybe for the next month or so until his legs were no longer numb.

Professor looked at the students walking back into the house, completely beaten. Of course, after seen Logan's results with his training, he could only hope for the best results now that Gohan was in charge.

The bald telepath went through a few files of his new students, all of their recorded information so far, like scholastic achievements or grades in other schools.

The mutant found something interesting then. There was an extra file added to the new seven students. This eighth mutant profile belonged to a young kid called Jamie Madrox. But that couldn't be. He never arrived.

Professor wheeled out of his room into Cerebro, a few levels below. He placed the machine on his head. There were no mutant signals near Bayville that were like Jaime's. What could have happened with him?

The bald telepath sighed. Knowing that many people would not tolerate mutants, Jaime's fate wasn't hard to deduce.

Notes from Chapter 13:

Yes, Gohan knows how to duplicate. I don't know if cannon Gohan could do it, but my Gohan learnt it from Piccolo (Remember that fighting against a duplicate was Piccolo's best training method)

I replaced Jubilee, Rahne and Amara because they never had a very serious paper on the show (Maybe Amara had a more fulfilling play but I didn't see it as such). Choosing Warpath and Firestar was random by the way.

And Multiple's absence... you will find out later. Just a brief explanation of him, Professor detected him and offered a place in his academy. But he never went to see him in person. Anyone can guess what can happen when a young mutant goes alone from another state into Bayville?

The training with our favourite Saiyan has started. How can things change from now on?
