Chapter 13

Everyone grinned in satisfaction after seeing Sonic turn Super Sonic.

Amy's eyes widened and she stumbled back. "W-what?

"WHAT!? Eggman screamed in anger from his lab "This can't be!"

"Amy." Sonic spoke up. "I didn't want to have to solve things this way, but if it's the only way to return you back to normal, i'll do it."

Amy didn't give a response. She just growled.

"I hate what Eggman has done to you and he's going to pay for it!"

Sonic started to walk closer towards Amy.

Suddenly Amy just rushed towards Sonic, raising her fist but was shocked when Sonic caught it with one hand. The look on her face just proved she was furious. She continued to attack Sonic but to no avail as Sonic just blocked and dodged her punches.

Sonic saw his opportunity to attack Amy hit her in the chest, sending her crashimg through the wall.

Everyone was surprised at how strong Sonic became.

Shadow watched the fight between Sonic and Amy with shock. "When Faker's using that form, his abilities exceed his normal ones. He's beating Amy with no difficulty at all."

"Yes." Knuckles said in response. "The only thing left would be to take care of Eggman as he's responsible for all this. He must have gone back to his lab."

Amy was lying on the ground. She was struggling to get up after Sonic placed multiple hits on her.

It's over Amy. I'm going to return you to normal." Sonic said as he walked closer towards her. He didn't want to hurt Amy any more than he just did.

"N-no I-i m-must d-destroy you. It's Doctor Eggman's orders!" Amy stumbled over her words as she glared at Sonic.

Sonic reached his hand towards Amy to remove the headband "This isn't who you are Amy. It's Eggman who did this to you."

Sonic removed the headband from Amy's forehead. The pink hedgehog went into a state of unconsciousness.

Sonic returned to his normal state.

"AMY!"

Everyone ran towards Amy.

"Is she okay?" Blaze asked worriedly.

"She looks weak." Tails commented.

Amy's eyes fluttered open. "W-what h-happened?"

"You're in Eggman's base." Espio responded. "But you're safe now."

"We have to take care of Eggman first before he tries anything else." Rouge said.

They all heard footsteps approaching them.

"So you have managed to return Amy to normal huh Sonic?" Eggman screamed angrily. "I was so close! If it weren't for those stupid chaos emeralds! I promise you Sonic, this isn't the end!"

Sonic walked towards Eggman with a pissed off look on his face. He was beyond furious that Eggman would go as far as to brainwash Amy into destroying them. He was going to regret it.

"There won't be another opportunity for you Eggman! You've done a lot of evil stuff before, but this time you've crossed the line! What you've done to Amy is completely unforgivable!"

Eggman had a look of fear on his face. The evil scientist realized that he had been driven into a corner and there.was nothing he could do to get out.

"Damn you Sonic!" Eggman shouted. "I have other inventions that i can use to destroy you. Just wait and see!"

"Faker already told you, there won't be a next time for you!" Shadow spoke up.

Eggman started to run towards the exit but Sonic was too fast for him.

The blue hedgehog grabbed Eggman by the shirt and glared into his face.

"This is the end for you Eggman!"

Sonic punched the scientist in the face. Blood began pouring out of Eggman's nose.

Everybody including Amy watched in shock as Sonic continued to beat Eggman up. By the time he was done, Eggman was barely conscious.

"Let's destroy Eggman's lab!" Vector suggested. "We can't have him continue to hurt innocent people again."

They all nodded their heads in agreement and began to make their way to Eggman's lab. When they arrived at the door, they heard the sound of several robots.

"Oh come on!" Silver complained. "I thought we got rid of all of them."

"Let's lure them inside the lab!" Blaze suggested. "And destroy them along with Eggman's equipment."

Sonic opened the door and the robots followed him inside. With a powerful punch, Sonic defeated all the robots. The sound of electric sparks could be heard.

"Uh Sonic, you should get out of there." Tails said. "I think they're going to blow up along with the equipment."

The speedy hedgehog took one last look at Eggman's equipment.

'Hopefully this will end you for good Eggman."

Sonic quickly ran out of the lab. At the same time, the lab began to explode.

The group began to run as fast as they could and towards the exit.

They began coughing violently once they were a good distance away from Eggman's base.

"That smell was horrible!" Vector shouted. He sat down on the ground.

"Is everyone okay?" Knuckles said.

"Yeah." They all responded.

"What are we going to do now?" Espio asked. "We've defeated Eggman and saved Amy."

"Actually there is one thing that must be done." Rouge spoke up. "Sonic, isn't there something you need to say to Amy?"

Amy forgetting that Sonic was there began to avoid eye contact with the group. This was it. She had no idea what Sonic wanted to say to her. He probably wanted to tell her how much of a disappointment she was.That was it. That he wished he had never met her and that she was a nuisance. The pink hedgehog was very nervous seeing Sonic and was preparing herself to hear the worst from him.

She wasn't expecting what she was about to hear.

Everybody began to step back and give Sonic some space. They were all watching with shock and concern as Sonic began to walk towards Amy.

"Hey." Sonic said to Amy. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah." Amy replied refusing to look at him. "I'm fine. Not that you would care."

"Amy." Sonic spoke calmly. "If I didn't care about you, i wouldn't have come to rescue you from Eggman's clutches."

Several minutes passed before Amy began to speak. "Everybody in town was saying that you hated me Sonic. I didn't want to believe them and continued to chase you in the hopes that you would finally notice me. But on that day you yelled at me, I felt hopeless and embarrassed. I assumed that you hated me for bothering you so much and that's when I decided to run away. I thought that you would all be better off without me."

Sonic took a deep breath after he listened to Amy speaking.

"Amy I'm sorry for yelling at you. I wasn't thinking straight. The reason why i was always running away from you is because wherever I go, trouble seems to follow me. Eggman was always taking you in as a hostage and used you against me. I wanted to protect you from danger. I didn't want to see you hurt because of me. The truth is, I love you Amy. I felt something towards you and I didn't realize it until you ran away and got kidnapped by Eggman. You mean everything to me Amy. I wouldn't forgive myself if something ever happened to you. I don't care about these rumours. They don't change the fact that I love you. Please give me another chance Amy to prove how sorry I am for my actions. Will you be my girlfriend?"

Tears began to well up in Amy's eyes. She ran up to Sonic and hugged him tightly.

"Yes! I will be your girlfriend Sonic!"

There was a moment of silence as Sonic and Amy looked into each others eyes.

The two of them shared a deep, passionate kiss. Amy placed her head on Sonivs shoulder and Sonic placed an arm around Amy.

Everyone was cheering.

"YES!" Vector shouted.

"Finally Sonic you did it." Blaze smiled as she was happy for the two of them. Even Shadow, Silver, Espio and Rouge smiled at the sight before them.

"So what are we going to do now?" Amy asked.

"I think you should get some rest Amy." Sonic said.

"Yeah." The pink hedgehog replied. "Eggman has kept me locked up in a cell until you guys arrived."

"Sonic and Amy are finally together." Silver said with a smirk on his face. He turned to Knuckles and Rouge. "So when are you two going to hook up?"

"NEVER!" They both shouted.

"And then after you get some rest Amy, we'll go out on our first date." Sonic spoke up.

"I can't wait!"

From that point on, things began to change for Sonic and Amy as they were now a couple. Amy went to the mall to shop for some new clothes after losing them after getting captured by Eggman's robotaand she and Sonic were enjoying their time together.

One afternoon...

Sonic and Amy were sitting together under a tree.

"I'm glad we're finally together Amy after all this time." Sonic replied to break the silence.

"Yeah." The pink hedgehog replied to her boyfriend as she snuggled up to him.

"I promise that I will protect you from any harm." Sonic replied. "Nothing's going to come between us."

Amy smiled as she kissed Sonic.

"I love you Sonic."

"I love you too Amy."

Sonic didn't want to imagine what could happen if he didn't rescue Amy. His feelings for her began to grow stronger every day. He was glad that he stopped Eggman's Plan
