Hello to all my readers! So bad news. Well not really but it depends on how you put it. Won't ruin the chapter by telling you the news now. At the end of the chapter please read the notice. Chapter 13- My close friend, Jean Havoc
(At the train station)
"Gentlemen, I need you to do your finest work as quickly as possible." Roy said.
"Easy for you to say. While you're sitting on your lazy ass all week, Fuery and I are going to be busting our asses going across towns by train." Ed mumbled.
"What was that, Fullmetal?"
"I said eas-ugmph"
"What the Colonel was trying to say was that we will do our best. We won't let you down." Fuery added watching Ed rub his arm.
"Right. I'll be expecting you both back within the week a I clear?"
"Yes, Sir!" They both said getting on the train as it was getting ready to leave.
"Make sure to watch each others backs until Breda gets there. He should be there in a day or two!" Roy shouted so both men could hear him. Roy started walking away towards his car. 'I could really go for a hotdog.'
(With Riza)
"So are you positive we can count on you to train our new soldiers?"
"Yes, Sir." Riza responded saluting her commanding officer. "I won't let you down."
"I don't expect anything less from one of the Fuhrer's subordinates. You will start fresh on Monday morning. You need to be signed in at 0700. Understood, Brigadier General?" He asked walking out of the door.
"Yes,Sir." Riza saluted. 'Brigadier General? I'm a higher rank than I was 5 years ago.' Riza though walking away.
"Maybe I-ugh!"
*THUD*
"Hey! Watch were you're going soldier!"
"Hawkeye?"
"Breda? What are you doing here?"
"Well I could ask you the same thing. I actually had to run some errands and I was trying to hurry up so I could meet up with the Fuhrer. I was running late so I started running and I didn't expect you to turn the corner so fast and that's when I bumped into you." He explained helping her up. "So what are you doing here?"
"I got offered a position to work here to train the new recruits. So, why are you meeting with the Fuhrer?"
"I don't know. Something important I bet. Maybe one of his errands for food?" Breda laughed nervously scratching the back of his head, hoping Riza would notice.
"Food errand, huh?" Riza asked not buying it.
"Well look at the time! I'm gong to be a dead man if I don't hurry and get to the Fuhrer's office. See ya later Hawkeye!" He said running out of the building.
"Food errand, huh?" Riza said to herself, walking out of the building as well.
(With Roy)
"Fuhrer!" Breda shouted running into Roy's office panting.
"About time you should up. I was starting to think you forgot about our meeting today."
"I ran into Riza a few minutes ago."
"You didn't tell her anything did you?" He asked standing up.
"No but I thought you would eventually tell her about what's going on. All I said to her was that you probably had some food errands for me to run and she got all suspicious!"
"Why the hell would you tell her I needed a food errand? She already knows I don't like other people getting food for me!"
"Well I'm sorry for trying to save my ass from being shot at and possibly never having kids!"
"What would be worse? Me torching your ass or Riza shooting it?"
"That-"
"Of course Riza's shooting." Roy and Breda watched as Havoc came in and sat in a chair. "Cause we all know, all we have to do is pour some water on you and it's open season.
"SHUT UP HAVOC! YOU FLAW IS BEING ABLE TO QUIT SMOKING!"
"Actually if you haven't noticed, my wife doesn't like cigarette smoke so I switched to gum. I've been smoke free for one whole months." Jean said smiling.
"Yeah we'll see how long that lasts." Roy whispered to Breda.
"HEY! At least if I do decide to have ONE smoke I'd tell MY wife what's going on!"
Roy sat down in his seat and looked at Breda. "I need you to meet Fullmetal and Fuery at Aorugo. You're their backup. Dismissed. You leave at 0700."
"Got it Chief." He said getting up and walking out of the office.
"What do you need me to do, Fuhrer?" Jean asked.
"Make sure that Rebecca doesn't tell Riza what's going on."
"How would Rebecca even know what's going on?" He asked.
"It's Rebecca we're talking about. She has a bad habit of being in the wrong places at the wrong time and hearing information that she doesn't need to hear. She'll find out one way or another. Trust me on this. She already has her suspicions on the homunculi."
"A homunculus?"
Roy and Jean looked toward the door and saw Winry standing there holding a basket.
"Winry, what are you doing here?" Jean asked.
"Well, I came to see if the Fuhrer wanted lunch so I could talk to him because I thought since Ed wouldn't tell me his assignment maybe Roy would. But now I think I know why. Does Ed know?" She asked, now looking at Roy. He stayed silent looking at his fists.
"You mean to tell me you sent Ed and Fuery away on a mission to track down a HUMONCULUS!" She shouted, tears forming.
"Winry if you'll ju-"
"JUST WHAT HUH? EXPLAIN? EXPLAIN WHAT? THAT YOU SENT MY CHILDS FATHER ON A DEATH MISSION?"
"Child?" Jean asked.
"I'm 4 weeks. Riza was right about you all along. You don't care about no one but your dumb job! These are peoples lives you're destroying!" She cried running down the hall.
"Can't you see how much easier life would be if you just told the people around you what's going on, instead of being selfish and stubborn thinking you can handle everything alone?"
"Fuck you Havoc! Don't you see how much annoying you are without you cigarettes?"
"I Just hope you know what you're doing." Jean said walking away.
"Don't I always?"
"No." He laughed walking down the hall.
"Insubordination!"
(With Rebecca and Ember)
"My mom said yo are her best friend. My daddy says you're crazy."
"Crazy?" Rebecca asked.
"Yup! Hey! We should totally eat some melted ice cream!"
"With hotdogs!" Rebecca added.
"Mine needs to have sprinkles! I never eat ice cream without sprinkles. WAIT! Ice cream hotdogs on a stick!" They both laughed.
"I think if I gave you all of that ice cream, your mother would kill me."
"Kill you?" Ember said, holding Caitlyn. "My mommy wouldn't kill you. She the nicest person on this whole planet! A big softie! She wouldn't even hurt a fly."
"Softie? Riza is anything but soft."
"How do you know that?"
"Because," Rebecca explained, grabbing her daughter from Ember. "When she was in the military with your daddy, she made every man cry just by holding her gun."
"COOL! I can make a man cry too."
"How can you make a man cry?" she asked watching Ember put on gloves.
"Easily. watch!"
*SNAP*...*SNAP*...*SNAP*
(With Roy)
Roy walked out of his office and went up to his secretary's desk. "I'm leaving for a while. I have to go and pick up my daughter. So if anyone comes looking for me tell them I'll be back in 30 minutes."
"Yes, Sir."
Roy walked down the hall toward the stairs. 'I gotta find someone to keep Ember busy while I look into some files...HAVOC!" He said watching Jean walk out of the copy room.
"Yeah Chief?"
"I need a favor. A personal favor"
"I'm not going to wash your ass again." He said leaning on the wall.
"Don't be ridiculous! I only asked that one time and that was because I broke my arm and the doctor said to get someone to help me wash up. You just happened to be the only one present at the time."
"Well, I'm not going to be your date either."
"Date? Why would I ask YOU of all people to be MY date? I Have Riza." Roy asked irritated.
"Because I'm the best looking man in HQ. I see the way your eyes light up when I come into your office. I hate to be the bearer of bad news chief, but I'm married."
"Havoc. 1, You're delusional. 2, That's not what I came to ask you. And you're crazy thinking you're the best looking man in HQ. I am. However, I need to know if I could count on you to watch Ember for me while I look through some files."
"Sure. I have nothing better to do than to make copies."
"Perfect." Roy said walking down the stairs.
"Wait are you going to pick her up now? Mind if I accompany you?"
"Yeah, why not? It'll be like old times."
Jean caught up with Roy and they both walked down the stairs.
'So you think you've won, do you Mustang. I'll have you know, I'm watching your every move until the day comes...'
Roy froze in his steps. "What was that?"
"What's wrong Chief?" Jean asked.
"Nothing. I thought you might have said something. I'm just hearing things. Nothing important."
"If you say so."
Roy and Jean left the building and got into the car that was waiting for them by the front gate.
"Hey, Chief!" Jean said getting Roy's attention. "I wonder what dumbass got their house caught on fire this time?" He laughed pointing to the smoke leading into the sky.
"Get in the car jerk."
(20 minutes later)
"MY HOUSE!" Jean cried on his knees. "MY BEAUTUFUL HOUSE IN FLAMES!"
"Well Havoc," Roy said crouching next to him. "I guess we both found out who's the dumbass that had their house in flames." He finished, making Jean cry even more.
"See?" Ember asked, pointing to Jean. "I told you I could make a man cry."
"Young lady this is inexcusable!" Roy said walking over to her. "It's one thing to burn a wall down in your own house, but it's a serious thing to burn someone else's house down." He grabbed her and put her in the car. "Come on Havoc. I will find you a place to stay until you can find a new house to buy."
Jean got up and walked over to the car, getting in still crying. Roy got in the car and closed the door.
"What about my wife and daughter, Chief?" Jean asked.
"Oh yeah." Roy responded rolling the window down. "You can wait for a cab to bring you to HQ or wherever it is that you'd want to go."
"Asshole! Why can't I ride with you!" She screamed.
"Are you crazy? looking at you the entire car ride to HQ would make me go blind! I need my vision to look through some very important paperwork. I've had more than enough experiences in my life being blind." He said grabbing Caitlyn through the window. "See I'm not all bad. I take your daughter with us so she doesn't have to endure your voice." He laughed telling the driver to go.
"ROY MUSTANG!" She shouted watching the car go down the street. "I SWEAR! YOU ARE THE MOST JERKISH MAN EVERYWHERE! I'LL HAVE MY REVENGE!"
(With Riza)
"Is someone's house on fire?" She asked herself, watching the smoke gather into the sky. 'The smoke looks like it could be coming from..'
"REBECCA'S HOUSE! OH NO EMBER!" She shouted running down the street.
(30 Minutes later)
"Rebecca! What happened? Where is Ember?" Riza asked walking up to Rebecca who was sitting on a large rock in front of a gate.
"Your man came to the rescue but decided to leave me because apparently I'd make him go blind."
"Where's your kid?"
"Oh, he took her too. Told me to take a cab."
"What happened?"
"Ember snapped the place into flames."
"WHAT? AGAIN?"
"Yeah it's ok though."
"Why do you say that?" Riza asked sitting next to her.
"Because it just means we can come and live with you and Roy! I mean your place is big enough isn't it?"
"Yeah b-"
"Nonsense! We won't be a bother!"
"Rebecca we d-"
"Do what? Want us to come stay with you all for a while? AWWW how nice of you!"
"Rebecca!"
"Riza!"
"Rebecca We have to ask Roy first." She sighed.
'Why?"
"Becau-"
"Because he's an ass?"
"Yes but-"
"But he's a stubborn mule?"
"That too, but if you'll-"
"If I'll kick his ass-"
"IF YOU JUST LET ME SPEAK, IT'S CAUSE HE OWNS THE HOUSE!"
"Oh! Why didn't you just say so?" Rebecca laughed watching a frustrated Riza.
"So where are you off too?"
"I was on my way grocery shopping." Riza said getting up.
"Oh. Could I tag along?"
"Sure. I would enjoy the company." They both got in the cab and it drove off.
(With Roy)
"Your mom is going to be angry with you once she gets home. You're going to stay with Mr. Havoc today or at least until I'm done looking through files."
'But why can't I stay with you daddy? I'll be really quiet. Please?"
"Sorry darling. I have important papers to look at and I can't take the chance of my concentration being stopped."
"Fine." Ember huffed.
"Ok Jean she's all yours." Roy said turning the corner.
"I thought you said you would never call me by my first name no matter where we were cause it's informal." Jean laughed.
"I said Havoc."
"You called me Jean."
"Did not! I said Havoc!"
"I was right here! You called me Jean!" Jean shouted.
"Did not."
"Actually daddy, you did."
"Whatever." he said walking away.
Jean and Ember walked away laughing and went into Jean's office. "You know. You're just like your mother." He said sitting on his desk.
"And you're just like your wife. I would have never guessed YOU were married to the CRAZY LADY."
"She's not crazy. She just has her own way of handling situations. She use to tell me, if everyone in the world acted and talked the same, there would be no excitement in life."
"Your wife is crazy. How did you ever manage to marry her?" Ember asked sitting in a chair.
"Your daddy actually got us dating. He said he got tired of her always in his face, her annoying her voice, and just the sight of her made him sick so he threw her off to me and I was to keep her occupied and we just sorta clicked."
"Clicked? Are you sure she didn't drive you nuts to the point where you just said yes to everything she asked?"
"Of course not." He said getting up and grabbing a small stack of papers. "Come on lets go to the Copy room."
(Copy Room)
Jean walked into the room and laid the stack of papers on a table, and searched through his pockets for his copy I.D. card. "Um...Ember could I trust you to stay here while I go back and get my copy I.D for the copy Machine?"
"Of course you can trust me! I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay right where you want me." She smiled mischievously.
"Uh huh. Just please stay here. Your father will torch me if he ever found out that I lost you." He said walking out of the copy room. Ember looked out of the room and saw Jean turn the corner. She smiled and walked out of the room toward the elevator.
"Why is such a young child roaming the halls of Eastern Command?"
Ember turned around and saw someone large over shadowing her. She looked up afraid of what she might see. "I don't know..."
"And what is your name little one?" The tall figure asked.
"Ember...What is your name..Sir..?"
"MY NAME!" He asked, twinkles in his eyes. "MY NAME IS MAJOR LOUIS ARMSTRONG!" He finished, ripping his shirt off.
"DDDDDAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDYYYYY!" She screamed running the other way up the stairs.
"Why do all the children run at my perfectly shaped muscles?" He asked himself walking away.
Jean walked back to the copy room and noticed it was empty. "Oh shit." He said running out the room.
(With Roy)
"This is insane." He said while going through more files. "It just doesn't add up. Even using human transmutation wouldn't give you a Homunculus. When the Elrics did it they discovered something that wasn't even human. A homunculus could pass as a random human being on the street. I destroyed Lust, Pride ate Gluttony, Armstrong's killed Sloth, Envy killed himself, Scar killed Wrath, Ed killed Pride, and that Father guy killed Greed. The finally Ed killed that Father guy." He walked away from the files and sat at his desk. he ran his hands through his hair. "A homunculus?"
"What's a humon..culus?"
Roy sat up in his seat and saw Ember reading through a file. Not just any file. The file that said 'Homunculus reoccurrence.'
"There's no such thing." He quickly stated.
"liar! You were just talking about it. You even mention uncle Ed. And something to do with the 7 sins of man?" She said as Roy snatched the file from her. "Fine if you won't tell me, I'll just ask mommy. She'll tell me."
"No! Do not tell mommy what you just heard. Ok? Promise daddy you won't ask mommy nothing about this?"
"Chief, I lo- I mean, I was looking for her. I didn't know she walked out of the room. I asked her to stay put while I went to go and get my I.D card and when I came back she was gone. Sorry Chief."
"Sorry? You really expected a little girl to stay in a room she's never been in? A little girl who likes to burn down houses?"
"Well, Chief all this could have been avoided if you just told riza what was going on!" Jean shouted back.
"Riza? She has nothing to do with how YOU let a little girl roam the halls! YOU failed your mission! And now she knows about the homunculus and if she tells I don't know what I'll do to you!"
"If she tells Riza then we all know what needed to be done! If Riza finds out then it's what was needed to be done!"
"You have no right to say what needs to be done with my marriage! You're married to a damn HARPE!" Roy said pointing to a picture of Rebecca.
"I'm so tired of you talking about my wife! She's done nothing to you but try to be your goddamn friend!"
"I'll talk about whomever I please!"
"You'll stop talking about her!"
"No I won't." Roy said sitting in his chair folding his arms together.
"Then..."
"Then what, Jean Havoc?"
Jean Looked at Roy emotionless. "Then Our friendship is over. I'm not your dog anymore." He said walking away out of his office.

So that is the end of chapter 13! I hope you like it I did when I was writting it. Ok, thanks again to all that leaves me a review! I really apprieciate it. Most people who read don't know but a review can really make a persons day! Thanks again. Ok, I have the bad news and good news. Which would you want to hear good or the bad? Bad it is. I won't be able to do a chapterevery week. So you might get chapters every week for a couple of weeks but I will have to start doing longer chapters every 2 weeks due to the fact that I started college and it's already a drag, very depressing. I don't like to get low grades so I really have to focus on school. The good news is the chapters will be super long! I will keep you entertained. So bye for now, and lettign you know you MIGHT not get a chapter this week. MIGHT.
P.S If my font looks bigger or different it's because I just realized that my chapters were not in 12 font. So it's 12 font now.
