He didn't need to see anymore. The damage was already done there was nothing that could heal this fatal wound. Then almost as if fate planned it Korra pushed him away, her cheeks pink. "Anyo, how can you do that?"

The young man stood astonished, he was certain that Korra felt the same way about him. Could being in the city for a few weeks been enough for her to forget her 17 years with him? Could she have perhaps met some rich city boy that could provide for her better than he ever could? Give her all she needed and desired. That of course wasn't the case. Korra was in enraptured by another man.

"K-Korra what do you mean," Anyo stuttered tears welled up in the corners of his blue eyes. His darkest fears were coming true.

"Anyo," Korra whispered, "I am sorry, but I just don't feel the same way about you."

"WHY? Why can't you love me?" Anyo shrieked. "What about the past 17 years of your life? Doesn't that mean anything? I mean I've known you before you were the Avatar."

"I just don't love you, okay," Korra yelled back. "I don't want you to love me! I just don't want you to get hurt…" Her voice grows quieter with every word.

"Well, it's too late for that," his voice is cold.

"I'm sorry."

"Who is that you're in love with? Who is this man who is better than me?" Anyo formed a fist with his hand.

Bangs hiding her face from him she whispers the forbidden name. "Tenzin..."

Anyo's eyes grow wide at the sound of the name. Him how could it be him? Anyo just couldn't fathom the idea of Korra falling in love with her previous life's son. "How could it be him?"

"I don't know I just feel a connection with him." Disgusted Anyo walked away leaving Korra alone. On his way out he saw Tenzin. He gave a disgruntled look and continued on.

Tenzin was struck silent from the beginning of Korra's protests. He heard everything that Korra had said and couldn't believe it. Korra loved him. Slowly he stepped out from behind the corner and saw Korra sitting on the steps on the temple crying. Sitting down next to her not saying anything he waited for her to calm down.

Korra turned and faced Tenzin. Her eyes were red and blotchy. "D-did you hear everything?" She stuttered. When Tenzin nodded Korra adverted her eyes away from him.

"Korra, please don't look away from me," Tenzin pleaded his smooth, deep voice coaxing her eyes over to his. Eye contact made, Tenzin could all of her emotions. She was frightened, terrified, the feeling of being alone cloaked her eyes above all.

"Tenzin, why are you here," her words were cold, cutting straight to the point.

Tenzin didn't flinch though. He gave a short and simple reply, "Because I love you." Her eyes grew wide at that statement. Staring at him in disbelief, Tenzin leaned over and ever so boldly kissed Korra. This time not shying away, going full force, she did the same.

Tongues fighting, saliva mixes. Korra pressed her hands against Tenzin's chest, his hand were placed on her waist. They pulled apart ecstasy in their eyes. Both mouthed those three words.
