He could not stop touching her for one second, just the feel of her skin set of a whole string of mind blowing emotions and it had him almost purring. It was a luxury he had been denied for three years and he was now making up for lost time. The moment they had gotten through the front door last night he had pounced on her. His lips fused with hers in desperation and pried them open, his hands went into her hair to hold her in place and mewing noises was coming from the both of them. Her hands clawed at his back, grabbing hold of his suit jacket and almost ripping it in the process as she tried to press herself closer to him. Desperate was a good word to describe it all. They both needed to get as close as possible, they both needed the familiarity of the other's skin against their own and they were both in a frenzy to do so.

He had her pinned against the closest wall in seconds and soon enough clothes where coming off, she was naked and in his arms before they had even reached the bedroom. Dropping her on the bed he discarded himself of his own clothes in record time before he joined her on the bed. His hands roamed all over her body, touching every patch of skin and finding all of her sweets spots. She was at his mercy until the wee hours of the night when they finally succumbed to sleep, only for them to wake up a few hours later to go at it again. Now they were lying spent next to each other on the bed, her back against his chest, while they looked out through the window that faced their land and his hand was ghosting up and down her arm.

"Horses?" She snorted while looking at him over her shoulder. "You think we should get horses?"

"Yes, and a dog, maybe even two." He could hear in her voice she was thinking he was crazy but he loved this, painting up their future together. They could do whatever they wanted, the sky was the limit. "Remember when I told you about my ranch back home and how we-"

"-had this lake that you used to ride to all the time, the kind that you saw in movies and I had always dreamed about."

"There's a lake under a huge willow at the south end." He murmured lowly in her ear as he hugged her even closer. "I thought it was about time you got to live the dream."

The tension that was build could be felt in the air. Their happy and light-hearted morning had threaded into more serious waters. It had been common knowledge for years between the two of them that Olivia's dreams and wants had always been put last since she was a little girl. After her mother had so called died her father had done what he thought was best for his daughter, without thought of what Olivia really wanted. Not that he mistreated his daughter in any way, he just never really listened to her. And when she grew up her job became to help other people's needs first, with total discard for her own. It bothered him for so long that she never got to live out her dreams, no matter how small they were, so he decided to do something about it. He wanted to show her that he cared, that he would always take her into consideration and put her first. Fulfilling her teenage romance dream was just one of the many things.

She didn't say anything for a really long time and he hoped he had not done something stupid by bringing up her her childhood, isn't was something she very rarely talked about and he knew it still haunted her some times. The only thing that could be heard in the room was their quiet, mingled breathing and the birds singing outside. It would have been quite idyllic if it weren't for the circumstances. She was slightly tense in his arms but her breathing was slow and steady, almost to slow and steady. Turning her over in his arms he got a good look in his face and his heart melted instantly. Her eyes were slightly water filled and when she noticed that he had spotted it she tried to avoid his gaze, obviously embarrassed that he had seen her so vulnerable. She was doing her very best to compose herself and he didn't say anything, letting her have her moment.

"Horses sounds really good." She said quietly and the look in her eyes as she did stole his breath away. They were filled with adoration and something heated that he couldn't quiet put his finger on and it did things to him.

"And a dog." Said in an attempt to lighten up the mood that was successful, she let out throaty laugh that brought a wide smile to his face. He loved seeing her laugh, it was a rare occurrence since she rarely let herself go enough to enjoy herself.

After that the conversation turned much lighter as they talked about how many horses they would have and how they would look like. How the stables would be like and what kind of dog they would get. It was the perfect morning. The bed had always been their sanctuary, where they had a moment to breath, to open up and just be them all raw without any troubles. Because often the few times they actually had the opportunity to share a bed, which he probably could count on his one hand, they often had the time to strip bare and pour their heart out before it was time to suit up again and face the world. So moments like these were something he had always cherished dearly, but now though if he had his way they would be more frequent.

They stayed there for several hours in their sanctuary, in the protection of each other's embrace. Tender kisses and touches were exchanged, it was like both of them were afraid that it would all disappear at any moment and turn out to all just be a dream. Hours passed and they had yet to move out of bed, they had after all years to catch up on, but soon enough they were forced to get up by both of their stomachs rumbling with hunger. Reluctantly they pulled away from each other and dragged themselves out of bed. He pulled out a pair of sweatpants from one of the few drawers that was filled with his clothes from before, but they hopefully still fit him, while she settled for his worn dress shirt and buttoned it up only halfway, leaving very little cleavage to his imagination and it took all of his strength to pull himself together and follow her out to the kitchen. She jumped up at island counter and crossed her slim legs, making the already short shirt ride up further on her bare thighs and he had to take a deep breath to collect himself. Turning to the fridge he realised that there was no food in the house since he hadn't been planning on coming here in the first place. So instead of French toast and fresh fruit, one of Olivia's few favourites, they would have to make do with Chinese take-out for the day until they could get some food to the house.

As he made the call Olivia moved out of the kitchen and out to the living room and he joined her on the couch as soon as he hung up the phone. Unsurprisingly the tv over the fireplace was on and showing the news, the woman could not totally relax even for a day. He pulled her into his arms and settled more comfortable in his seat, just because he could, and started to watch the news with her. It was going to take some time for him to grasp that he could actually snuggle with her on the couch any time he wanted, they could have quiet moments on the couch watching the news, something that was do utterly domestic. When the food arrived they brought it over to the couch with a bottle of wine from the wine cellar before digging in. Within minutes the food was gone and their attention returned to each other. But realising that they couldn't spend the entire day indoors he dragged her off to the bedroom to get a shower and change so that he could show her the grounds in the daylight. The last time they had been here it had been nightfall and they had never left the unfurnished indoors but what really made the house was the outside and he really wanted to show her what he had planned for them.

When they both were fully clothed they walked outside hand in hand and started to explore their home. He showed her the unfinished stables and paddocks where they would later on be housing their horses. Next was the backyard and the back-patio from where they would be able to watch the sunrise since they were both natural early birds. At last he led her through the trees on the south end and over the fields that led in the end to the lake he had fought so hard to find. The sun was shining brightly, making the water sparkle like diamonds and reflecting a crystal clear image of the willow that was looming over it. The pure happiness in her eyes was worth more than anything in the world to him.

"So how does it feel Mr. Grant to no longer serve your country?"

"Well, I'm going to miss you calling me Mr. President in the low voice of yours that's for sure!"

"I don't think that will be a problem Mr. President." She said in a sultry tone and looked up at him through her eyelashes. He must have swallowed his tongue somehow because he couldn't find his voice and before he had time to recover she had turned around and was walking back towards the house. It took him several minutes to react and take off after her but as he reached her she was almost at the front door but that suited him just fine. Sweeping her off her feet and into his arms he carried her back to the bedroom while listening to her soft giggle. As he lay her down on the bed and hovered above her, he was struck by how utterly lucky he really was that she was here. Yesterday he had been happy sure, but he had still been filled with disbelief, believing that it was not true but in fact just a dream. But now it was finally sinking in. He was no longer president and he was finally going to have the life he always wanted with his kid and this free, playful version of Olivia that had always been there under the surface.

She was looking up at him questioningly and gently waking him up from his stupor by stroking up and down his arm. Shaking his head discreetly he leaned down and pressed a heated kiss to her lips, taking as good as he got and only broke away when air was absolutely necessary.

"I love you, Olivia!" He mumbled quietly against her lips and not really expecting an answer, not everything about her would change there were still things that would have to be dealt with.

"I love you too, Fitz!" She whispered and he could have sworn his heart was exploding with joy. He was truly living the dream.
