Title: The Fourth Year
Narrator POV
The Human Boy Finn has been living in a cave not far from the waterfall he fell from and he has made it his home for one more year and he was lucky he wasn't discovered by any search parties in that area. He has learned a lot for the past years and he has been planning on stopping being an imature kid and start acting like a teenager.
Finn went out of the cave and looked up to the sky to see it turn from blue to grey and he started bringing in his stuff, as he manage to bring the last item he had outside the cave inside, the heaven poured down heavily and he was glad he had not too many things outside the cave. He then made a bonfire to keep himself warm and he decided to take a nap.
Dream
Finn slowly opened his eyes and he coughed as he tried to get up and he wondered where he was then he remembered getting hit by tranquilizer darts and blacking out then a loud sound. It didn't take the human a minute to realize that he went over a waterfall and he thanked Glob that he cheated death again. He check if he had any items only to remember he left it all at his camp and he was going to have to retrieve all his things, it was little past noon as he arrived at his hidden camp site only to see the group of Banana Guards with the black lines and he quickly climbed a tree and he jumped from tree to tree in order to get his stuff and not to be detected.
'Okay I got my stuff, now how the hell will I get out of here without drawing their attention...fuck.' Finn was now just patiently waiting for his window of opportunity. It took him an annoying one hour and forty-five minutes before the guards started to leave the area.
'Now's my chance!' he didn't hesitate and slowly crawled down and silently made his way to the river where he thought was safe.
As he got there he was paranoid that he was being tracked down so he didn't let his guard down the entire time. He walked for three minutes until he found a cave that was well hidden by the vegetation and rubble. He walked inside and it was a big cave and he decided to stay.
It took him about an hour to settle down and three hours in adding more things to keep the cave hidden. After he was done he was covered from head to toe in sweat but it was worth it.
"Now I'll just hope no one would think of checking here." Finn's stomach then growled "Hehe, better find myself something to eat."
Finn then grabbed a fishing rod that he made and went to look for a good spot to fish.
Reality
Finn woke up and stretched his arms and legs, he got up and started to make himself a meal and he didn't bother how many fishes he was going to eat since he manage to catch two dozen of them. As he cooked his fish he was thinking of who he should go to first and say that he will finally stay for real.
Finn POV
'Things must end at some point. I guess it's time to man up or shut up...haha to know I was once an immature kid...' I then smiled at what I just thought.
I then started to eat my meal and after cleaning up I walked around the cave and I kept on processing on my mind who I should go to first but then I thought about going to Jake first since he's my bro, he's been with me through hell and back it's best I should tell him first the good news. I then went outside and thank Glob the rain had stopped so I clean myself and as I took off my clothing I jumped into the river and cleaned myself. After a while I dried off and wore my clothes, with just my pants I looked at my reflection in the water and I developed muscles from all the running and climbing and I'm not the skinny boy I once was, I chuckled and wore my shirt and boots and with my cloak I took a stroll around the forest just to enjoy the beauty of nature and the silence that surrounds me.
'Four years I've been staying and leaving from home. the past is in the past, I've got to face what the future holds for me.' I thought while sitting down in a tree to just prepare myself for the days left for me to hide.
While I was relaxing I heard a moan I got curious, I went to the source of the noise and what I saw sent a wave of chill down my spine the pit where those Goo Monsters came out of two years ago wasn't destroyed fully and as I watched from a safe distance I saw them head for the Candy Kingdom and I quickly thought about the Candy people, Jake and the Princess, but something caught my attention they stopped then they started to form a formation like they were prepared for war. That scared me but I had to do something so I went ahead of them and the knowledge I learned to survive I put it all to good use, in the form of making traps and obstacles to slow them down and as I finished making the traps I waited.
I waited for eight hours strait and night had claimed the land but good thing the light made it easy for me to see in the dark, from time to time I took a nap but quickly woke up to sounds but those were mostly birds but on the seventh time I woke up the noise was not coming from the birds and I knew it was time to fight. I made four lines of traps ranging from pitfalls with spikes to nets also with spikes and I manage to place a lot of stones in places where they will pass so they will be bottle necked in one area where I'll be the last defense, I felt a bit of pride since I made it alone. I'm also happy to know that my new found knowledge in making traps with fire and explosives will be also be put to use and I just learned that a day or two ago...
Flash back
I just learned how to make gun powder thanks to a book I didn't know was inside my bag. So here I am outside my cave with two cans filled to the top with gun powder and thankfully it's a sunny day, As I readied the first can I placed it in a area where I'll be safe...okay I surrounded myself with pre-mushroom war debris. I then counted down...five...four...three...two...one...I lit the rope and it started to go to the can and...it made a sound but nothing...as I lifted my head that's when it exploded and thank Glob I manage to take cover really quick.
When the smoke had cleared I placed the second can but the second can I placed had an extra ingredient napalm knowledge from the same book.
(A/N: I have a book where it talks about explosives and shit so yeah...it also talks about other mechanisms. Not promoting about making explosives or anything that's BAD okay?)
I readied myself and again I counted down, I lit the fuse and...BOOM it exploded and a small fireball rose up with a stream of fire going in different directions. I smiled and went back inside.
Flash back ends
As I got back to reality the sound of the ground giving in echoed in the forest and the moans lessen but quickly got louder so I readied the second line of defense, steadily hanging from a rope is a lit torch which was connected to a trip wire, so when a unlucky Goo Monster sets it off KABOOM, it and those near it will get it.
At a safe distance I remembered that I placed five traps with explosives that has a larger amount than the other and I don't know if the last few explosions will be heard or seen all the way from the Candy Kingdom.
I then saw them walking/running/crawling to the second line of defense and after that the last line which is me, I then went into position and I heard the first explosion and I just hope a good amount of them were taken down, then the second, then the third and the fourth and lastly the last trap was all that was left and then a huge explosion broke the silence of the forest and the heat was bearable from where i was but for them it was hell.
Then there they were about a thousand meters away, I took out my sword and got ready in a battle stance and when they were just about thirty meters away I prepared myself, one of them started sprinting towards me swinging it's arms and when it got to me I ducked and avoided it's attack and I slash it in half and down it went.
Then seven of them attacked at the same time and I quickly defeated five of them and one tried to grab me from behind and I did a back flip which resulted in it and one more hitting each other knocking themselves out.
I fought for more than six hours straight and fatigue was catching up to me as I felt myself getting weaker by the second and they just kept on coming and getting harder and harder to defeat but then I heard an explosion and I remembered only having five explosives,
it kept getting louder and louder until I saw a Goo Monster which looks like it was deformed due to lumps around it's body and then it exploded which knocked me down and I quickly got up and three of them were in front of me, working now with my instincts I back flip four times and watch those things explode.
As if those weren't dangerous enough here comes a Goo Monster with six arms and it started spinning like a top and it was headed towards me, I jerked to the right and it stopped since it got dizzy and I quickly ended it's life with a horizontal slash. When I turned around another one of those spinning Goo's manage to land a hit on me sending me flying to a tree and I swore I injured something in my body since I felt a jolt of pain run throughout my back but good thing I could still walk. Then it got ready for another attack I slid down and sliced off it's legs and when it was down I didn't think twice and quickly stabbed it.
Then a slow walking Goo Monster appeared and it looked like it was covered in dry green goo. It was walking slow so I thought it was easy to attack it and when it was in my swords range I tried to slice it only for my sword to create a spark and it looked like it was unaffected, my jaw was hanging and I don't know how long I was staring at it in disbelieve and I felt something hit me in my stomach,
I quickly glanced down to see that thing giving me a big boot and again I was sent flying. I hit the ground really hard and I coughed up blood, I slowly got up and I staggered a bit and I just randomly ran towards it, it quickly put both arms up to protect it's face but I quickly stopped a few millimeters in front of it and gave it a strong kick to the crotch area and it knelt down in pain and thanks to the moon light I saw it's soft flesh inside it's hard exoskeleton and I jabbed my sword and finally it was dead.
Then more of those new enemies started to appear simultaneously along with the "regular" one's but I was prepared and as I watch the figures appear from the raging inferno I charged at them screaming at the top of my lungs.
Narrator POV
Finn fought with everything he's got and it lasted until dusk and the field was scattered with dead Goo Monsters and the Human was covered in dirt, green goo and blood from the scratch marks he received, he was kneeling in one knee and he was catching his breath the fire had manage to extinguish itself and Finn didn't know that he has defeated a thousand Goo Monsters single-handedly.
While Finn is trying to relax after his battle, Bubblegum along with Jake and the S.B.F are going to the forest since PB's computer picked up a large amount of heat coming from the forest.
Flash back
The time here is when Finn was awaiting the Goo Monster's who were heading for the second line of defense
Princess Bubblegum was in her lab solving some scientific equations when she heard a loud boom looking out her window it was dark but there wasn't any thing that could cause a large boom except thunder. So she just brushed it off for now. She had worked throughout the night and when the sun started to show up in the horizon her computer started to show a warning message and PB quickly went to her computer to see what's going on. Apparently there was a large amount of heat coming from the forest. She quickly called Jake to inform him and she called Capt. "Split" to ready the soldiers. When everyone was together they set out to the location.
Flash back ends
When they got there they were shocked to see a lot of Goo Monster bodies scattered everywhere and they also noticed the new types They followed the trail of bodies to the start only to see traps that were set off and burned trees/grass/ground/bodies and when they got to the very start they found the pit which was wider than before and they heard the sound of someone screaming and they rushed to the edge to see Finn fighting eleven Goo Monsters.
With Finn
Few minutes ago...
Finn finally manage to calm down and he walked towards the pit and found some Goo Monsters trying to climb out and he decided to stop them. He swung his sword and knocked one back to the bottom of the pit and one manage to climb out to tackle Finn but he manage to counter the attack and when the Goo Monster turned around Finn rammed his sword in it's chest at the same time he tackled it sending both of them free falling to the bottom. When both were nearing the ground Finn jumped off in time and landed unhurt.
He quickly looked around and found himself outnumbered but he had a smirk on his face. He grabbed his sword and removed the green stain and pointed his sword forward and saying "Bring it on, you fucking freaks."
Within seconds of speaking the horde of Goo Monsters all tried to pounce on the Human Boy and he swung his sword killing some while shoving the others away. He then started to take down the staggering Goo's one by one when he heard someone shout
"FINN!"
Finn manage to glance a little to his left to see his brother Jake and the Princess and he shouted back
"TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH! NOW HELP ME!"
He then resumed slicing Goo Monsters
With Jake and PB
Jake looked at PB who did the same and both of them nodded and the Yellow Dog jumped inside the pit and he enlarged his right fist and when it made contact with twenty Goo Monsters all that was left was a huge crater. PB then started shouting at the S.B.F to contain the Goo Monsters while she pulled out what looks like a freeze ray and starts shooting. Finn jumped upward from the shoulder of a Goo Monster and axed kicked it's head knocking it out. Jake then appeared beside Finn and while they were fighting they were catching up on each other
With Narrator
"So where'd you live this time Finn?" Jake asked while kicking a Goo
"In a cave not far from this Glob forsaken pit." Finn said while avoiding a right hook
"Really? Where, near the river after that huge waterfall?" Jake asked
"You got it." Finn answered
While the two brother's talk the Princess on the other hand was climbing down while shooting her laser gun at Goo's and joined the two.
"So how long have you been battling them Finn?" the Princess asked while shooting as many Goo Monsters as possible.
"Hmm, since yesterday after lunch."
"Whoa man that's insane! I can't believe that your body is still working properly." Jake said surprised
"I'm running on adrenaline, but it's slowly fading." Finn said while trying to keep his focus
"Here I think I have something that could help you replenish your energy." PB then gave Finn some food pills and Finn swallowed it all and instantly he was full of energy and he thank PB and as they manage to clear the area the S.B.F. radioed Bubblegum
"Your Highness readings show that more and more of them are approaching from the tunnels and from the toxic pool itself."
"Roger that and find a way to stop them from getting out."
"Ma'am yes ma'am"
PB then turns to Finn and Jake "Okay Jake I need you to destroy the toxic pool while you Finn I need you to find a way to stop them from getting out from those tunnels."
"Okay Princess." Jake gave a mock salute and he enlarged himself and started punching the roof of the cave and boulders started to fall to the toxic pool.
"Let me think..." Finn then went wide eyed and looked at Bubblegum with a huge smile on his face "I think I found a way to stop them once and for all!" Finn said with confidence.
"Spill it out then!" Bubblegum said
"First I need you to block the tunnels entrance first." Finn told Bubblegum and she started to shoot the boulders above the entrance of the tunnel.
"Then what Finn? That won't stop them for long."
"I know PB, I know." Finn answered while getting a piece of paper and pencil and started to write something. He then handed the to the Princess and she read what was written.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS FINN? THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS!" the Princess shouted since Finn wrote in the paper ingredients to make a dual-purpose bomb.
"I did it already and that's what caused part of the forest to be burned to a crisp."
"Wait that was your doing that loud noise last night?"
"I was in the middle of battle and thanks to me I manage to stop half of them from making a surprise attack on the Candy Kingdom and besides there are Goo Monster which look like they manage to "evolve" and which were a pain in the ass to kill."
PB was speechless, she didn't know what to say. She tried to open her mouth to say something but nothing came out and she just nodded her head and radioed the Capt. of the S.B.F
"Come in Captain."
"Yes your Highness?"
"I need you to bring down a dual purpose bomb..." she paused and looked at Finn "...how many do you need Finn?"
"Can you give me like five?" he answered and watch as pebbles started to roll down from the blockade.
"Did you get that Captain?"
"Ma'am yes Ma'am, give us three minutes, out."
"Roger that."
(A/N I'll skip the process of making it since I don't know how it's made.)
In exactly three minutes five bombs were lowered down to the pit and Finn quickly took the bag containing the explosives, just then the blockade was totally destroyed and the Goo Monsters started to appear. Finn, Bubblegum and Jake who has successfully destroyed the toxic pool, stood in front of the enemy and they had a stare down. After a few seconds Finn charged forward and swung his sword ending the life of two Goo Monsters while Jake turned himself into a bulldozer and ran through two dozen Goo's while Bubblegum started shooting her laser and took down six Goo Monsters.
Thanks to Jake, the Yellow Dog manage to make a huge clearing in which Finn threw a bomb and it exploded taking forty-nine Goo's.
"Finn we gotta close that tunnel permanently!" PB said
"Okay clear a path for me so I could throw it deeper inside!" Finn said while arming a second bomb
"I'm on it.' Jake said and turned himself into a wrecking crane and swung his head/wrecking ball and knocked away a room full of Goo Monsters and Finn using that window of opportunity ran to the mouth of the tunnel and threw in th second bomb which, successfully detonated and a huge cloud of dirt and smoke came out and the three of them cheered as the battle was over...until a loud window shattering roar was heard and PB's radio went off and she answered it
"What was that?"
"Princess were picking up a large heat signature and it's headed towards you, get ready your Highness."
"Okay PB out." Bubblegum then looked at Finn and Jake (who's back to his normal shape) "The S.B.F said there's a large heat source headed towards us so be prepa-" Bubblegum didn't finish what she was saying as the ground started to shake violently
"WHAT IN FUCK'S NAME IS HAPPENING?" the Yellow Dog screamed
"I DON'T MAN, JUST HOLD STILL AND BE READY FOR WHATEVER'S COMING TO US!" Finn yelled back
Just then the tunnel and the rock face surrounding it exploded sending a large cloud of dirt, smoke and car sized debris flying, Finn,
Jake and Bubblegum were frozen in fear when a pair of large green eyes were staring at them and another roar was heard. When the smoke had cleared the three were met face to face with a Giant Dragon with black scales and green goo oozing out from it's body and those evil looking eyes.
"Oh fuck..." Finn manage to blurt out
"Glob..." Jake said
"I'll be needing a bigger gun..." PB said
The dragon then opened it's mouth and green/black flames shot out of it's mouth and the sound of explosion rocked the cave. Capt Split felt explosion
"Your Highness are you all okay?" he received nothing but silence
"Come in your Highness are you okay?" still nothing
"Glob help us all" he whispered
Okay first off I want to say a delayed happy new year and here's a new chapter.
Second here's the explanation of the "Evolved" Goo Monsters
- Exploding Goo Monster: I got the idea by combining the swelled body of "Boomer" from "Left For Dead 1 and 2" and the explosive/suicide tendencies of "Volatile Runner" from "Warframe"
- Six-armed Spinning Goo Monster: I got the idea by combining the arms plus one more pair from "Four Arms" from "Ben 10" and the spinning attack from "Hoarder/Waster" from "Dante's Inferno"
- Armored Goo Monster: I got the idea by combining the brute strength of the "Tank" from "Left For Dead 1 and 2" and the toughness of the "Ram" from "Dead Island"
Third I got the idea of the dragon from combining the titanic size of "Smaug" from "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" and the toxic ability from "Dark Dragon" from "Patapon 3". I was awake since 3 or 4 am so I was a bit in the middle of dream land and reality, but I'm the author so...yeah.
